April arrives and the highly regarded Man of the Month Club matchmaking application makes its first mismatch. Or does it? When an April Fools’ prank goes too far, hearts are at stake in this devilishly fun game of scandals and schemes.
Ben Bridgerton has recently grown to hate his surname. As soon as women hear it, their eyes light up and turn dreamy as they talk endlessly about a historical romance show he’s never seen.
Based solely on his last name, the fairer sex expects him to be as charming and irresistible as a dashing duke or ravishing rake. It’s a nearly impossible standard to achieve.
When Ben is matched with bold, outspoken, and abrasive Poppy at April’s Man of the Month Club meeting, he is certain the pairing must be a mistake. He’s much more attracted to Poppy’s demure, innocent, and sweet friend, Daphne.
Wide-eyed Daphne has lived an extremely sheltered life––growing up in a remote cabin with only her heartbroken father to keep her company. She makes Ben want to protect her and be the kind of man she deserves.
Will Daphne’s newfound obsession with watching Bridgerton be the key to finding everlasting happiness with Ben? Will Ben be the right man to make Daphne swoon with desire? Find out in Man of the Month Club: April.

Here is a Top 10 list from Ann about her likes, dislikes, and oddities:
1. I despise whipped cream. There, I admitted it in writing. Let the ridiculing begin. 2. Even though I have lived as far south as Key Largo, Florida and as far north as Maine, I landed in the middle. 3. If I don't make a conscious effort not to, I will drink nothing but tea morning, noon and night. Hot tea, sweet tea, green tea––I love it all. 4. There doesn't seem to be much in life that is better than coming home to a couple of big dogs who are overjoyed to see me. My other family members usually show significantly less enthusiasm about my return. 5. Singing in my bestest, loudest voice does not make my family put on their happy faces. This includes the big, loving dogs referenced above. 6. Yes, I am aware that bestest is not a word. 7. Dorothy was right. There's no place like home. 8. All of the numerous bottles in my shower must be lined up with their labels facing out. It makes me feel a little like Julia Roberts' mean husband from the movie 'Sleeping with the Enemy,' but I can't seem to control this particular quirk. 9. I love, love, love finding a great bargain. 10. Did I mention that I hate whipped cream? It makes my stomach churn to look at it, touch it, smell it, or even think about it. Great––now I'm thinking about it. Ick!

Hehehe... I'm still chuckling at Daphne, Ben, and Simon. This is an endearing addition to The Man of the Month Club. I love Daphne's childlike enthusiasm for everyday things we take for granted, like big box stores and chain restaurants. Ben is a good sport about it, for which he is handsomely rewarded. 🔥💥🎉
One of my favorite scenes is Daphne experiencing a McDonald's Big Mac for the first time. It's funny and cute but her reaction to Wendy's in the next book is nearly as cute.
Yes, I read the books out of order. What can I say, I like to occasionally buck social norms. 😄😉 I would recommend reading them in order because there frequently are updates or references to prior couples but they can be read as you see fit.
If you've read the His First Time series, you won't be surprised when I say, "Charlotte strikes again!" Truthfully, if you have been keeping up with this series, you've already met her. It's fun to see her occasionally pop up.
These are always so cute. Plus Daphne was a angel face, sweetie pie, it’s hard not to like her. Ben was perfection as per the Bridgerton name and Poppy was the cherry on top.
I am definitely more of a slow-burn romance reader but that's not why I rated this book the way I did. I was just so weirded out by how very innocent they made the main character, it made her seem like a literal child and that was just so gross that I had to dnf the book.
Another entertaining book to the Man of the Month series. This one brings Daphne and Ben's story. The author packs a ton in this short story and adds a bit of drama in this fast paced matchmaking read. She paints her scenes perfectly with her detailed and descriptive writing and delivers a great addition to the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Romance trope: matchmaking Series: Man of the Month Club Length: 100 pages
Plot: Poppy has convinced her friend Daphne to sign up for the Man of the Month Club matchmaking services. Her name is thrown into the pool of ladies, but Poppy is the one matched with bachelor Ben...or is she? Daphne and Ben seem like the perfect match, but Ben will have to summon his courage to make it happen.
Commentary: Poor Daphne - the victim of her parents' idiosyncracies (if it can be called that). We joke and say "won't they think of the children," but in this case, you could say that with a straight face. I don't mind a naive heroine or even a sheltered heroine, but this was to the extreme and it felt a little icky.
The success of the “Man of the Month Club” is drawing more attention from the single women in Indianapolis. The attendance is growing by leaps and bounds. Soon the popular club will have to start charging the girls a fee to join, just to keep control of the event. But how exciting is the prospect of being set up on a blind date and him turning out to be your soulmate. Just to tempting to pass. April's match is between Ben and Daphne. Their story is sweet and charming but oh so STEAMY! My suggestion to the reader is to have a cold drink available because you're going to need it to cool off.

It's Spring and things are getting warmer! This book should have been July or August because it was that HOT!! Daphne has led a very sheltered life and her enthusiasm for everything spills over to sex also. It's quite amusing seeing how she reacts to different things and situations. Ben is the Man of the Month and is instantly smitten by Daphne. Their journey is lovely to watch while also being very sexy. Loved this story. This series seems to improve every month so I expect I'll need a defibrillator before the year is over. LOL! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A Diamond In Plain Sight - When Ben lays eyes on Daphne at the ‘Bachelor Of The Month’ event, he is shaken to the core, but when the name of his match is announced, it plays havoc on his sanity. However, they soon realise there has been a mix-up. They slowly get to know each other, but a misunderstanding nearly cost them their happiness. This short story was a true pleasure to read and I can assure you, you won’t be able to put it down once you start reading it.

Gosh! I just loved this story! Daphne is absolutely adorable and her innocence is so charming. I adore how respectful and full of tact that Ben was. He could have been a pig and taken advantage of her at every turn, but instead he treated her honesty and was delicate when is mattered. This is the first book I've read in this series, but I'll be sure to read the other as soon as possible! Definitely recommended for a fun, sweet, adorable quick read!
I loved the homage to the Bridgerton series, as I just started wat this series. Daphne and Ben were the latest matched couple and I enjoyed their fast paced romance. This was another fun, fast read and I would recommend this book.

So my goal was to read a quick, spicy read. This was quick and it had some spice but the content wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. Let us dive in. We have a young, naive 20 something Daphne and an older, handsome heart throb, Ben. This read starts with Ben pursuing Daphne after pairing at a matchmaker event. He is immediately obsessed by her looks alone.
First introduction to spice- he gets off on her eating McDonald’s. That was my first que this was going to be a bit cringe. As the story continues, we see how much chemistry they have which is great and all. We learn how Daphne is Ben’s dream girl though his inner monologue. And he was being very patient with her which was nice knowing she is so innocent and feeling vulnerable. Daphne is loving the attention.
Then of course, fast forward-they inevitably have sex. Which was very sweet and spicy. They explore each other, he’s teaching her things, she has no idea what she’s doing. The most vulnerable situation. She tells him she loves him (thinking they just showed their love for each other physically so why not say it. She is so naive and fragile and I could just imagine how she is feeling in this moment) THEN he leaves immediately after hearing that and GHOSTS her. Just imagine being that young 20 something girl who has her first experience falling head over heels for guy who tells her all these amazing things and is patient and comes off super loving to be ghosted after her first sexual experience. I physically cringed.
THEN, her angry best friend marches over to his house and yells at him. He agrees he’s stupid and professes his love for Daphne to the best friend. Daphne then walks through the door behind the best friend and is like, really omg you love me?!! Then they live happily ever after. ALL WHILE THIS HAD BEEN OVER A COURSE OF LIKE 3 DAYS. Lol I can’t, that’s all.

Oh, the heat is HOT, and the physical chemistry is captivating so be careful you may just get burned all the heat coming off these pages. There were some "oh no" "oh wow" " what the what" moments and add in uncanny mishaps, and shenanigans the good kind that makes you keep turning the pages till last page has been turned. Book four was just as good as the three before it each book reads as a standalone yet connects the characters. Each month one of the single girls is matched with a bachelor that they are compatible with. Daphne lived a very sheltered life with little experience in everything. Ben is haunted by his last name he loves it but it draws all the wrong women, but he is smitten with Ms. Daphne although, the app paired him with someone he had nothing in common with but upon meeting the right person it is instant and the magnetic pull he feels when in the presences of Daphne will have them both second guessing the app will there be a HEA?
OMG MAN OF THE MONTH CLUB-APRIL is here and we have Daphne and Ben's story , loved the little twist at the start of the book (won't give it away but Poppy played a blinder) after having a rough life Poppy convinces Daphne to go to the man of the month club and there she meets MR APRIL himself Ben , on their date and with Ann's fantastic writing you can see things through sweet and innocent in everyway Daphne's eyes ,like going to McDonalds , a big store , having ice cream , almost anything that we take for granted and yet she hadn't seen them with living in a small town before moving , loved their instant chemistry , sizzling steam a n HEA and adopting a dog named Simon , loved it , now i can't wait for Poppy's book after reading the teaser , one to read

This is the fourth book in the Man of the Month series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone but you will see characters from previous books in this one since they books are connected. Each month one of the single ladies in the book club is matched up with the bachelor of the month they are most compatible with. This story is cute, steamy and to read. Daphne submits her application with the help and encouragement of her friend Poppy. She has lived a very sheltered and hasn't experienced much of anything the average adult has. Ben is captivated by Daphne from the moment he laid eyes on her. Can't wait for the next book in the series.

A short, quick, fun story of Daphne and Ben. Daphne ends up winning the date with Ben Bridgeton. He has never meet anyone like her and is totally enchanted. She's sweet, funny, joyful, honest, naive and trusting. Ben is just as enthralled with Daphne but when she tells him that she loves him he bolts. Will Ben be able to show Daphne that he was just scared by his feeling and will they get their HEA? Definitely recommend this story. Can't wait until May. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It is instant attraction for Ben but he is horrified when he's told his date is Poppy. Thankfully it's April Fools and his date is Daphne. Daphne is absolutely adorable and naïve but she she knows what she wants. Ben is scared after their second hot date and needs Poppy to go to the bat for Daphne. Ben and Daphne are in love and soon more. Even their careers are well suited.
Ben and Daphne will warm your hearts with this story. He hates his last name whereas Poppy is encouraged to go to the man of the month club. It is here that these two meets and become captivated with each other but a mix up almost ruins their chance for happiness. Do they have a chance to get a happily ever after for themselves?

Ben was born with the last name that is the same as a popular show. Daphne is somewhat new to the city and has lived a sheltered life. They meet at the club meeting but Daphne's friend Poppy pulls a horrible prank. No one was laughing. Ben was quite taken with Daphne and only had eyes for her. Will this pair have a happy ending?

I definitely am not an insta-love kinda reader, and going into this blind, having randomly chosen this to read, was disappointing. It’s too sickeningly sweet. But I think what bothered me the most was how innocent Daphne was. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not bad to be innocent, but it was the way it was portrayed that gave me the icky vibes.
Another fun and entertaining read in this series. This is the story of April and it is the story of Daphne and Ben. Their journey to their happily ever after is a fun read. They fit well together and have amazing chemistry. This book can be read as a standalone but you will not want to miss any. I am looking forward to read the next book.
Man of the Month Club: April (A Hot Shot of Romance Quickie) by Ann Omasta and Callie Love. What a great little nugget- everything I was looking for in a quick read and with depth and character. I enjoyed Ben and Daphe and their journey to finding each other and the HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Spicy Rating: 2/5 Overall Rating: 2/5 ~ This novella was really cute and romantic but I will say that there were several moments where I cringed heavily. I managed to get past the cringiness but I was not a fan
What a absolutely adorable story. Ben and Daphne are two fantastic characters that grew up very differently and that is what makes their story so special.

This one was a little different for me. I cringed a lot with this one which I usually don’t do with these books. It was very cute and very sweet. But Daphne being so innocent made me a tad bit uncomfortable. And Ben made me super angry for a bit there. And poppy. She made me mad too. However, it was still super cute which is why I’m giving it 4 stars.
This book was a cute quick read. HOWEVER- in the middle of the sex scene, Ben says something that gave me the ick so bad. I almost didn't finish reading it. But I did push through. I did finish it because it was such a short read but ZOINKS
