Insulting Themselves into Love? . . .
When outspoken Poppy Pendleton unapologetically swoops in and steals Cooper Bridgerton’s parking space as they were gathering for the May’s Man of the Month Club meeting, anyone can see these two are destined to be enemies.
Cooper was very upset when he realized Poppy was his match and didn’t want to accept the date. Daphne, Poppy's friend, offered to call Cooper’s younger brother, Ben, and have him meet them on a double date to make it less awkward. Cooper accepts that proposal. Insulting each other as they pretend to make fun of Daphne and Ben’s obvious adoration of each other, Cooper and Poppy laugh together. Calling him the “worm in her apple” and other such insults, Daphne reminds them they are not acting romantically. When Poppy asks Cooper if he gives up trying to fling another insult, he told her he could go all night – to which she flirtatiously replied in a husky voice, “We’ll see about that!” Can the couple turn their verbal sparring into a surprising night they will want to have over and over?
