Dogust
3.5 stars - From the beginning, I have to give Jillian props. She showed up to a matchmaking event with the woman who always held her former husband's heart. The two have become friends since the July installment which can't be easy for Jillian but, as she states, she doesn't blame her ex for loving Charity.
How Jillian and Riggins first meet is hilarious! Their first date is sweet before it sizzles. 🔥🔥 A spectacular conclusion to a first date!
I was on board with all of that. The part that struck me as too much was the timeline. In less than 24 hrs, they went from her begrudgingly agreeing to a date to becoming a family. I can do over-the-top but that was too OTT for my liking. Because I really liked the rest of this novelette, I tried my best to overlook it.
Before I sign off, I want to point out that Charlotte has struck again! She's a character from the His First Time series that pops up occasionally with a pet that needs a home. Always a fun conclusion to her meddling. ☺ Oh, and even though there are crossover characters in every book, this can be read as a standalone.

Jillian is begrudgingly attending the man of the month meeting. She’s been hurt before and isn’t looking for a relationship. She just wants to look after her son. Riggings is a firefighter and is having fun. One look at Jillian though makes him want to see her smile and laugh. This was an entertaining quick read. There is an immediate connection between the two even though Jillian tries to deny it. Riggings is sweet and caring and tries to convince Jillian he’s there for her for real. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jillian is being dragged to the monthly meet and see if your a match for this months bachelor. Really sceptical about this but seven other woman found happiness, I just don't think is in the cards for me as a single mom.
Right before Pheobe announces the new match as tells he's the youngest they've had. Great a baby. When her name is announced as the match Jillian is less then thrilled. She pretty much tells him she not interested. That she's already raising a child she doesn't need to raise another one.
Riggins finally convinced Jillian to go out on one date. He surprises her with a date to the county fair. She's having a really good time and they end up back at her place for the night. Best one night stand is what she is thinking the next morning. This can not turn into a relationship, he's to young for her she thoughr. She needs to end thid. While she's in the shower, Riggins slid out to get breakfast but when he returns is not with breakfast but a do he adopted while at the farmers market. Jillian's son is home and meets Riggins, not exactly what she wanted but it's happening anyway. Her son Silas loves the dog and Riggins asks if he'd like to name him. Jillian is not happy and tells Riggins he and his dog need to leave.
Jillian and Silas go to job but while there Riggins mom shows up to her job and e,plains why Riggins is living with his mom and how her Sinn cares deeply for her and her son in such a short time period. How she should give a chance. Silas hears this and is asking if Riggins and his dog are going to join the family? Right then Riggins comes around the corner and she couldn't be happier. One day at the park, Riggins calls Silas over with the dog hot on his healed over to where Jillian is they both get down on one knee and Silas asks his mom if she will marry Riggins? She is really glad she went to this months group and found her HEA.

The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! This is book is part of the Man of the Month Club series why just read one when you can start at the beginning and keep reading through the series it won’t be a waste of time. I like that this is a turnaround older woman and younger guy. Jillian is sweet, single mom, begrudgingly attending the meeting and her goal is to not get involved period due to being hurt her goal is to just love /take care of her boy. Riggins sexy as all get out firefighter one look and his goal becomes to make her smile (such a beautiful smile it it). She is determined to stay away from any type of relationship, but he was able to convince her to go out with him and he takes her to the county fair without realizing she finds herself enjoying so much they end up at her place. Riggins giving her the best one night stand of her life but she feels she needs to end will she give him a chance, can he prove to her he is the one for her, will her son like him and can they find happiness?

When Jillian finds out that this month’s man is in his early 20’s she is ready to leave but stays and meets Riggins, the handsome, friendly firefighter who is August’s man. He flirts with the women and when Jillian is announced as his match she tries to get out of the date but is pressured and agrees to 1 date with the slightly younger man. They go to a carnival, have fun, and Jillian finds him to be sweet, fun, and sexy. Riggins enjoys their time together and finds her to be independent, stubborn, and intriguing, but will she be interested in a relationship?
I enjoyed this short, instalove story of two people who seem to be different but are matched by the Man of the Month Club. Man of the Month Club: August by Ann Omasta & Callie Love is a quick and easy read. It follows Jillian Flynn, a mother and wedding planner, and Darrell Riggins, a man in his 20s and the youngest firefighter on his crew. Jillian wins a date with Riggins by being his most compatible match at a matchmaking event. She was against it at first believing she needed a grown man, not a boy but he changed her mind real quick.
Not only was it a quick and easy hot read but it was also incredibly sweet and I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
Although Man of the Month Club: August is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. It’s an insta-lust/insta-love story and things moved a bit fast within the first 24 hours of them meeting. There is an age gap between the two with Jillian being older (we don’t know by how much). And it is written in both Jillian’s and Riggins’ POVs.

Last month Garrett match, this month his ex-wife meets hers in the form of a younger man, Riggins. She only married her ex-husband because she was pregnant, she is not really looking for anyone, let alone a younger man. Riggins does not want to give up so easily, he gets her to agree to a date.
The chemistry between the two in off the charts, she tries to push him away due to his age. He keeps coming back and looks to appeal to her son to give him a in with her.
The story is steamy and is in line with the other stories in the series, but is not needed to read any of them to enjoy this book. You find yourself rooting for Riggins to get the "girl".

August's Man of the Month is hot. Riggins is a fireman, who is young and has a big heart. Jillian has gone through so much pain with her last relationship, married to a man that did not want her, has skewed her views on love. When it was announced that Riggins was younger, Jillian put up her walls even higher. I love how Riggins was not going to let that stop him from taking her out.
There are so many elements in this story that will grab at your heart, where other will have your jaw drop and when his mom got involved - not really sure how I felt about that. Great addition to the series.

Let me start by saying that I love that in this age gap romance it's the woman that is the older partner. However, I didn't love that Jillian was a bit of a snob about the fact that she was the elder. Riggins was so sweet, and he was immediately devoted to her happiness and well being. I didn't feel like Jillian gave him a fair chance in the beginning. Thankfully, some things happen that force her to re-evaluate her beliefs.

This is great to read when you want an insta love connection story. I loved their first date and the ferris wheel scene was incredible. A single mom and a younger guy find common ground and their HEA.I was glad Jillian found true love with Riggins. I would recommend this book for those who enjoy Hallmark movie type stories.

Another hot instant attraction match. This is Jillian's story. She's a single mom who isn't looking for romance. My heart is so happy! This one might be my absolute favorite one. Silas is such a sweet little boy. And Jillian is so guarded and I totally understand why. She’s a single mom and wants nothing more than for her son to be happy and content and well taken care of. Then you have Riggins. He’s younger than Charity but is extremely mature. He cares deeply and wants nothing more than to have a family. The ending. Yeah. I cried. So beautiful!

Jillian and Riggins rate very high in the match app but Jillian declines until Riggins says he won't go on the date unless it is with her. Riggins shows Jillian how to have fun again and it's okay to put herself first sometimes. An one night stand becomes something more as both Jillian and Rogers allow their love and the love for Silas freedom. I like the nudge that was given to Jillian to finally accept.

This story will warm you heart! It's a short and fairly quick read with wonderful characters. The plot is interesting in this nicely developed story. This is a fun and sweet story with about second chances between a younger man and single mother matched. Jillian and Riggins are perfectly matched and little Silas makes one good story. These two have sizzling hot chemistry.

Man of the Month Club: August (A Single Mom and a Younger Firefighter Hot Shot of Romance Quickie) by Ann Omasta and Callie Love. Sometimes the least likely fit is the best one of all. For Jillian and Riggins (and Silas) this is a match made of fate and filled with heat, great chemistry, mild drama, and sweet HEA. I enjoyed the push and pull between these two and would recommend this series, this book, and this author duo to others. This is a great book. Ms. Omasta painted a sweet story with Riggins & Jillian's story. The characters were perfect for each other. Their chemistry was palpable and the passion was off-the-charts! A sweet HEA and must read!

Jillian meets Riggins at a mixer. Their chemistry is off the charts. Jillian jumps to the wrong conclusions about Riggins, due to their reverse age gap. I really enjoyed reading this short story.

I loved that Jillian does not believe that there is a man who will see her and lover her. After her ex-husband reconnected with the one that was always on his mind, she wants that as well. But she thinks that she can not have it and raise her son. Enter Riggins, this bachelor of the month. He is younger and is immediately taken with Jillian. She really tries to keep her walls up but she slowly lets him in. The only thing I did not care for was the way she reacted when he said he still lives with his mom. There could be any number of reasons why he would do that. Other than that I really enjoyed August man of the month.
