Happy Haven #3

Hide and Sneak

Rate this book
This is the year that all my hard work and saving is going to pay off. My goals are clear, to quit my job at the daycare center, start a business, and move out of Happy Haven Trailer Park, It isn't a bad place, and I love most of my crazy neighbors, but it was always meant to be a stepping stone.
I'm a woman with a plan. A plan that doesn't include living with my brother and his best friend, Sutton, but here we are. They need a place to stay for a few months, and I can't say no.
No good deed goes unpunished.
Sutton Yates is not one of my favorite people, and he wastes no time throwing my peaceful life into chaos. It's just my luck that his road construction job has him working the same hours that I do. I'm stuck with him every evening.
He's infuriating. He thinks he's hilarious and nothing entertains him more than getting under my skin.
In high school he was the troublemaker we all had a crush on, but at twenty-six years old, I know better than to be taken in by a few muscles and tattoos. He's insufferable, and I've matured.
So it would be great if I could stop ending up in his bed.

A fun and sexy finish to this trailer park trilogy.

I love how these stories depict the struggles of people scraping by, but it's not tragic. These people are working hard to get what they want (homes, businesses, love) and the little trailer park community is a supportive family.

Also, container homes are amazing!

A great last book

I fell in love with this author when I read Scarlet Toys, and happily consumed many/all in her catalog of unforgettable works.

This series is addictive and easy to connect with and enjoy. Sutton is the bad boy we want him to be, and I thoroughly enjoyed all his chemistry with Lila.
The attraction and steamy scenes between these two kept the pages flipping effortlessly and I finished it before I realized it!

I HIGHLY recommend reading this series in the correct order for the best experience. Be assured - you will laugh out loud at the antics of the Happy Haven Trailer park residents and their pets. I love the banter and comraderies between these characters and am excited for the next one from this talented author.

Lila and Sutton were the perfect couple to end the Happy Haven series with! These two had my laughing all the way through their story!

The growth these two have from the beginning of the book to the end makes for a phenomenal read!

Shade really is the only author that I can read Romance comedy from. She just gets it. I dont know if she has these hilarious characters stuffed in her brain or she's people watching some of the most entertaining folks around. She's a comedic gold writer!

Polka Dot Cups and Closet Blessings

Gah I love this story!! From closet blessings to polka dotted cups - this book has so many laughs, tons of angst, and best of all five alarm fire steam!!

I absolutely loved this book! It fits well with the other in this series where we got lots of hot moments and laugh your … off scenes mixed with the drama and edge of your seat what! Moments and I love that!!

The opening really captures the characters’ vibes and gives us a great picture of how things fit as far as Lila’s pov goes; I love the oh no moments that also give a chuckle lol

This is a well written and developed story - the foreshadowing is very well done and I love the twists! Like here’s where we think the story is going but bam what! Twist! Let’s go full force into your new adventure!

The character development is so natural, it’s like a fine art! I loved watching our FMC shift from being pretty much a rule follower to eff it and going full force ahead into her secret romance. The bar scene pushing them even more together lends even more believability to the changes coming too like each puzzle piece sliding together to push them closer to a relationship and I love that building! Their banter is so good, I love reading the back and forth. Third Place is an amazing addition in the story!! I love their competitiveness with each other and the pokes back and forth, it gives us some small laughs and bantering moments where there might not be room for them otherwise - and I’m kind of partial to any story that highlights any sort of video game since I’m a gamer girl myself. I can totally relate to Lila’s family and I love her character arc where she comes into herself and stands up for herself and her boundaries. And I love the way Sutton supports her with that! Sutton had a more subtle character arc I feel like, but with the dual pov we get more of it and getting to see how things evolve as we find out who he really is and Lila does too - super satisfying

I’m so hoping the author decides to come back and visit this world, but in the meantime the re-read value for this book (and trilogy really) is so high that you really can’t afford not to own your own copy. It really is that good!

I love this series because it isn’t just funny, or just hot, it’s the perfect mix of funny, hot, and drama that makes it the perfect escape from reality. I don’t read regular contemporary and it’s hard to find something that has the perfect balance like this where I get the grit with the laughs and hit with a good amount of steam. The author found a great balance on it all!!

Happy Haven never disappoints

S.M. Shade is the only author I have read that truly makes me LAUGH OUT LOUD. The banter in the Happy Haven series as a whole is 10/10. Same goes for each book as a standalone.

Hide and Sneak reintroduces us to Lila one of Happy Havens residents. She is not happy that her brother has found himself evicted and now moving in with her. But, not only her brother Amos, but his high school friend Sutton. Sutton who she’s blames for her brother’s lack of motivation, ambition and general bad behavior.

Lila begins to see the truth in things as she learns about Sutton and sees her brother for what he is.
Lila learns to listen to her friends Cara and Maren, and decides to put herself first. Taking steps toward what she wants, secrets from the past may make that hard.

I was so happy to return to Happy Haven for the final installment.

Fake Around and Find Out is one of my favorite books! When SM Shade said she was postponing writing the third book in this series, I was sad. Imagine how ecstatic I was when she told me book 3 was coming soon!!

There were some parts of this story that felt a bit rushed or surface level, but overall I enjoyed the plot and the spice. More than anything, I enjoyed the setting and the cast of characters and the cameos from the characters we'd grown to know earlier in the series. The wedding (not between the MCs) at the end felt like such a beautiful send off for Happy Haven!!

I am so happy I had the chance to read this book early and that Happy Haven got it's (well deserved) HEA.

Do not read this book in pubic unless you aren’t afraid to be caught laughing out loud!

Welcome back to Happy Haven, this is the third and last book in this series. SM Shade has killed it with this one. It’s a brothers best friend/enemies to lovers, laugh out loud riot.

Lila has always been there for her older brother, and that’s how she finds herself living with him and his too hot for his own good friend Sutton. Now she has to make some important life altering decisions all while fighting her attraction to Sutton. And it is definitely a fight.

This world that Shannon has created is one that is so much to visit, the characters definitely have plenty of character and the shenanigans that happen is the stuff that makes a romcom a true romcom.

My feelings on this series has been all over the place. Book 1 was a 5 star masterpiece. I laughed and laughed so much. Book 2 was a major letdown and I did not have as good of a time. I didn't even know this one released until I saw someone else reading it. I decided that my chances were 50/50 on liking it. I did like it more than book 2but not quite as much as book 1. This one was hilarious many many times. I love the brothers best friend trope and it was well done here with the appropriate amount of drama from the brother when he finds out. Their romance was hot and their love progressed at a great pace! I had a good time. I think I need to move onto a billionaire romance next. Reading is an escape and I don't want to relate to characters struggling financially... give me penthouses and shopping sprees next!!! Happily leaving Happy Haven trailer park for something else...

Such a good book!!

I'm completely obsessed with the series to the point where as moved up may, you must buy a physical copy to reread list.
Sutton and delanah's story has a great twist mine. Enemies, deference, to lovers.Their enemies is more like playful, pander and teasing.
Just definitely go a little bit. You're conflict to have brother's best friend based in there. But at the end, it doesn't even matter. I don't know him because the brothers at douche and deserved it. What do you got.
I'm hoping there's more because I love it means books and their connection to this little. A place where they made their own communities great, and I love reading them.

I received an ARC for an honest review.

I am sad that this was the end for Happy Haven, but what an end it was! S.M. Shade knows how to deliver a laugh out loud romantic comedy! I had tears falling down my face from laughing so much at times. I won't spoil the laughs for anyone, but chapters 20 and 21 had me laughing so hard. And the banter between Lila and Sutton was magnificent. The back and forth was like the cherry on top of this delicious book. I will miss these characters and the antics that happen at Happy Haven. What a funny and fantastic time I had reading about them!!!

Happy Haven ❤️

This was exactly what I needed. I’ve been in a book slump and when I say one of my favorite authors released another book in this series I had to read it immediately. If you’ve read any of The Happy Haven books you already know it’s going to be full of crazy characters and laughs.
5⭐️’s for the whole series.
This is a perfect read when you want a feel good book with some spice.

4.5*

This was a perfect conclusion for the trilogy. It was so fun following along and reading about everyone’s story. I really enjoyed Lila and Suttons story. I will never not devour a brothers best friends book. The polka dot cup stunt was super hilarious and had me cackling every time it popped up. Overall, this was funny, quick book with tons of banter. And wacky situations the character get themselves into. It was a very fun book to read.

Brothers best friend

We head back to the trailer park that never leaves you bored. Lila gets her man, only It’s not who she thought it would be. Sutton is Lila’s older brother’s best friend. He is annoying, childish and ruggedly handsome. This combination was hilarious! I love the scene where Sutton bends over and has an “accident “ in front of Maren and her grandfather. I’m so sad to see this series go, but it ended with a bang!

aww man Twist isn't the main star... but, butt plugs must be in the genes with Dusty picking up the main star vibes.
I like while it is a HEA, it also in part isn't an entire HEA as reality of actual life that sometimes family just isn't worth it. I am really glad to find that there is going to be a book 4 as I have really enjoyed HA HA and their antics. Still very much full of little giggles and anger banging.

Another winner in this one.

Absolutely nailed it Shannon. This is probably by far my favourite book out of the 3 of them.

Great story with lots of learning and growing for both the main characters in the book.

So many laugh out loud moments that then had to be explained to those around me.

I love the Happy Haven world. Thank you for giving us a wonderful journey.

This was a fun read that had me laughing uncontrollably at certain parts. My only complaint is that there’s a few name mixups that could have been easily avoided with editing. A character named Corbin inexplicably became Archie, and a character introduced as Ethan then became Evan. So odd. Otherwise I enjoyed!

Loved it!!!!!!! you never fail to deliver the best

Glad I was home when Amos walked in, that was hilarious but the best was poor uncle sit down having to crawl out the window. As I said you never fail to deliver the best thank you.
