Daisy Carver Who knew that a wardrobe malfunction would change the trajectory of my life? My father is the VP of the Dogs of Fire MC and I’d grown up believing that I was destined to fall in love and marry a biker of my very own, but a pair of patent leather pants and a broken zipper changed all that.
Huck Wilton I was a starting rookie for the Hurricanes, but my NHL career ended before it even had a chance to begin. Now I’m back home, licking my wounds, and trying to figure out what the hell I’m supposed to do with my life.
But then my sister’s sexy neighbor walked into my life and I had to peel her out of her pants… literally… and I now know exactly what my destiny is. I’m just not sure if it’ll lead to my ruin.

Road to Ruin by Piper Davenport is book 13 in the Dogs of Fire Series. This book is a interconnecting series so it does add to your enjoyment if you have read the previous books. This is the story of Huck Wilton and Daisy Carver. Daisy is a MC Princess with the Dogs of Fire Portland Chapter. Daisy's parents Booker and Dani where in the first book 'Road to Desire'. Huck was set to be a part of the Hurricanes NHL but that career has ended. Now he is looking for the next thing when his sister's neighbor comes over for help. Enjoyed this book and I can't wait to read more from this author.
So excited for the return of this series! Daisy is a true MC princess, wanting to have her own space while also being ingrained in the MC life, and always thought she would end up with a brother like the ones she has grown up around her entire life. All that changes when she meets her neighbor’s brother, and the initial chemistry is off the charts. Huck is staying with his sister while he rehabs his hockey injury as the breakout star of the sport, but the injury is potentially devastating for his career, so he’s hiding at his sister’s place to figure out his next move. Everything changes for him when he meets Daisy and is instantly hooked and wanting to do things and put himself in situations to protect her that he has never felt the need to do before. I loved the dynamic between him and her family – her brothers did not go easy on him, and he stood his ground to ensure that she gets the respect she deserves. I also love how protective she is over him – she spares nothing to find out more about his injury and go off the hunch that things weren’t actually how they seemed. Throwing in the typical MC drama that somehow doesn’t come from the MC this time, I couldn’t get enough of this book and these characters, and I can’t wait to see this next generation! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the 13th book in this particular series and it did not disappoint! Loved every page of it and could not put it down! This is the story of the next generation. Daisy Carver is a Dogs of Fire MC princess who meets her prince charming in hockey player Huckleberry “Huck the Puck” Wilton as he comes to her aid in a wardrobe malfunction. Just as with the 1st generation characters, you are pulled into their lives like you are a part of this wonderful MC universe.
If you love wonderful characters, laughter, intrigue, and maybe a few tears you will love this MC Universe! I highly recommend that you check these out and enjoy the ride! I sure am! Cannot wait to see what’s around the next turn!
The MC Universe of the Dogs of Fire, Burning Saints, and Primal Howlers cross over and I highly recommend that you read each of the books in chronological order to really appreciate these wonderful characters and their nuances. You never know when a character from another series will make an appearance!

Loved the story. Reading a Piper Davenport story is always a good time for me 😊
Daisy Carver is the daughter of the VP of the Dogs of Fire MC and grew up sheltered by her dad, her brothers and all her uncles at the club. After a night out with her besties, she has a problem getting out of her pants. Going to her neighbor, she meets Huck Wilton, staying with his sister for a while. And she is totally infatuated with him.
Huck Wilton is a rookie with the Hurricanes and his NHL career sort of ended before it started. Now his visiting his sister after his injury and meets Daisy. After helping her ‘literally’ out of her pants he is hooked, lol… However, seems like someone is out to make Huck’s life miserable, and maybe being one of the Dogs of Fire will help get to the bottom of it ☹
It was so good being back with the Dogs of Fire. Damn I missed Hutch and his crew. Daisy and Huck was so good together. One thing I didn’t like was Daisy’s insecurities, although I understood it. It was a bit annoying that every time she and Huck disagreed, she thought he was breaking up with her. But lucky for her she had amazing family and a hot, alpha male boyfriend 😊 Loved the story, loved the characters, loved the suspense and I can’t wait for more 😊
ROAD TO RUIN BY Piper Davenport due 10/24/23 5 stars (give me books) Daisy & Huck/Ruin
Meet cute for sure! Can't wait for you all to read it. Gonna love it from page one to THE END.
Her neighbor and bestie's brother came to her rescue (no spoiler you'll have to read) and they were immediately interested. Very interested! Things might have been different if he had known she was the MC's princess with too many brothers and uncles not to mention her father's the VP.
Huck's a Hockey star on the injury list. No man is good enough in for their girl in their opinion. He's not deterred. She is it for him and he'll do whatever it takes to keep her.
She's bright, shy, and very much wants Huck, too. While checking him out they find information that could change a lot in his life and consequently--hers.
Great characters that series fans will remember and love. If not it is fine to meet them through this book. When danger unknown to him follows Daisy the enemy doesn't know what's waiting for him.
Will the club and Huck save her? Will he recover to be able to play again? How about joining the club? Will there be a chance and will he take it if there is? So many life turns. Will they end up together making those choices?
Piper Davenport lights the lamp with ROAD TO RUIN (Dogs of Fire #13). Daisy Carver gets the help of her neighbor’s sexy brother, Huck Wilton, to literally help her get out of her pants. NHL star Huck Wilton is visiting his sister after a potential career-ending injury. Talk about an adorable meet-cute.
When I started reading this book, I did not realize that it was the thirteenth book in the Dogs of Fire series. It caught my eye because it is a hockey romance. As a result, in the beginning when a bunch of people’s names were mentioned it got a bit confusing. Huck mentioned he got confused with all the names too, so I could relate to him. It was not a big deal, and after I got further into the story, it was easy to follow. This was the first book that I read by Piper Davenport. I enjoyed her work.
ROAD TO RUIN was an entertaining and thrilling read. The characters were well developed. They faced life-threatening situations. They formed bonds. It reminded me a little of Sons of Anarchy. The plot was interesting and well laid out. I am happy I read it. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
What can I say about this story... It goes without saying that I absolutely love the world this author and her husband have created. The world and the crossovers between the 3 MC's are like a visit from an old friend, but if you've not read the others, you don't miss anything. It's just a nice nod for those of us that have. Huck and Daisy had me rooting for them from the beginning. There was just something about them, both individually and together that just made me pull them under my wing and want to see them through. Of course, it wouldn't be the Dog's world without a bit of conflict and suspense. I loved how protective Huck was, and Daisy was relatable in her sass and questioning of herself. Add in protective older brothers, uncles and parents and Huck has his work cut out for him. He's more than up to the task. But that doesn't mean Daisy isn't protective in her own right, it's her instinct that leads them to a truth before it's too late.
Ah, Daisy & Huck! So much fun! There's lots of laughs with Daisy's sass, but also lots of emotion as these two navigate the beginning of their relationship. Huck is immediately protective, which makes him a great fit! Of course, Daisy's surrounded by protective men, so sometimes that causes some friction.
Speaking of friction... these two bring the 🔥🔥🔥! They're very playful during steamy times, as well. A certain Marcy Playground song might come to mind a couple times...
I quite enjoyed this journey to their HEA, loved seeing Booker & Dani & Hatch get some major page time, and loved the blending of Huck & Daisy's families. The bonding may have taken a little longer with her brothers, but it was worth the struggle! The suspense portion that helps them bond is excellently done, too!
This is the 13th book in this phenomenal series, and this is Huck and Daisy’s story. Daisy to the daughter of the VP of the Dogs of Fire, and always thought she would grow up and find her own biker to love. Huck is the starting rookie and his NHL career ends with an injury, so he returns home to regroup and find a direction for his life to go. When Huck crosses paths with his sister’s sassy neighbor, Daisy, the sparks fly. Bring into the mix an overprotective older brother, parents and uncles, and Huck has his work cut out for himself. This is a well written story which is an easy to read, action packed romance, with forced proximity, family, friendships, suspense, drama, emotions, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining, unpredictable, and steamy page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
I didn’t know i could love someone new this much. Daisy & Huck are two people that don’t seem like they would go together, however, something just seems so perfect.
He is a hockey player on the injured list, trying to rest and recover. She is his sisters neighbor who he meets at a very inopportune, yet nightly entertaining, time. Little did he know she was an MC Princess.
She is quiet, tries to stay away from the lifestyle, and yet when it comes running into her life, there is little she can do. When she meets this gorgeous man in her neighbors apartment, she hopes things were different (seriously their first meeting is AMAZING).
These two are from different worlds, however there seems to be something there. The question becomes is it enough to draw them together, or not?
The last few of the generations book in this series have just missed the mark for me. I feel like with the originals there was more suspense throughout the books whereas in this one in particular the suspense was just a few pages long and we realistically knew Daisy wasn’t in any real danger because of how overprotective her family is. Also the characters just seemed immature in this one, especially Daisy and I also didn’t care for how Huck just physically reacted with no thought to his actions in certain parts. There were also some grammar issues and some of the structure of the story felt a bit stilted. I know Davenport can write a fantastic story, but it’s definitely hard to continue a legacy such as the one she built with the original members of the MC.
This book was so good. I absolutely loved Daisy. She was totally kick ass. I loved her sass and take no prisoners attitude. She was smart, independent and fiercely loyal. She was just the right mix of her parents Booker and Dani. Huck was totally hot and totally alpha. He was all in from the minute he met Daisy. This book had it all, laughter, steam, suspense and a few twists. Not to mention catching up with the Dogs of Fire and a few cameos from The Burning Saints. Piper definitely hit this out of the park and is now one of my favorites. Can’t wait to see what she writes next! Absolutely a five-star read for me
Another fantastic story in the Dog's of Fire World.
When Daisy needs help with a little problem after a night out she knocks on her neighbour Louisa's door which is opened by a gorgeous guy, thinking she's ruining her friends night with her boyfriend she is quick to sort it out, when she finds out that he's Louisa's brother, she invites Huck to the family bbq at the club where he's recognised for the injured hockey player that he is. Soon their relationship blossoms, and Daisy finds out his accident may not have been one after all.
Who would do such a thing? And are they still out there?
What do you get when you mix an MC princess with an injured hockey player?, you get a delicious, intoxicating read, Road to Ruin might ruin you for other MCs, as Piper Davenport had me on the edge of my seat, just wanting more.
Daisy always thought she knew what she wanted, and that was someone from the MC, but a chance meeting with her neighbour's brother Huck, who is licking her wounds after a devasting injury, and fate is about to flip them both on their heads, I loved not only this couples chemistry but how their relationship grows, and what they both thought their future would be is about to be turned upside down.
It has been a while since I was in this world that Piper Davenport created, but it was so good to dive back in! I love reading second gen stories, having "seen" the parents getting together and then we get to see just where those HEA's have ended up and now their kids are getting their HEAs. This was an amazing addition to the series; giving us loads of laughs, some drama, tad bit of danger and violence, and don't forget the hot naughty bits. Huck/Ruin and Daisy get 5 stars.
The MC romance genre is one of my favorites to read. I grabbed this up, as soon as I saw it was a crossover with hockey. I really liked the way the author made these two work together.
Huck - First, I freaking love his name Huckleberry? YES! This guy was down on his luck with the way that he was sidelined from injury. He's a tough guy, full of that alpha male attitude. But he's softer towards a woman he cares about. That's something I loved about him. When he shows his protective side, SWOON! I loved how he ended up fitting in with Daisy's family.
Daisy - I love how she's so fierce and independent. Regardless of being sheltered by her family for so long. She's smart, caring, and can be strong-handed when she needs to be. She's not afraid to say her peace. I do love how she is with her family as well.
Their story is quite interesting and they face quite a few ups and downs. Especially as secrets and lies are pulled to the surface. Then the epic moment of craziness hits and BOOM! You really see a different side of Huck.
I thought the way that the author integrated hockey and MC together was pretty good. I thought the way that Huck was brought into the MC and balance hockey was good. I do wish there was a tiny more hockey action.
Ok...so no spoilers! Buck and Daisy are adorable. It was awesome to be back with the Dogs family again! I love how the men treat their women in these books. This one is just as fantastic as all the rest! And we got More Hatch!!!! Quite possibly my favorite of all the Dogs! I say it every time, Piper. You and Jack keep writing, I'll keep buying and reading! Thank you for sharing your talent!
This is the first I have read in this series and although there were a lot of people to get my head around, I think I did well. I loved their first meet and their connection and chemistry, they complimented each other very well. I enjoyed seeing their relationship evolve and how they handled the ups and the downs, I wanted more of them when I got to the end so I hope they make lots of appearances in the next book.
Huck and Daisy meet when the zipper breaks on her leather pants and she goes to her neighbor Louisa for help, when Huck saves her from her pants she finds him hot but thinks he is Louisa's boyfriend not her brother. Louisa quickly corrects that assumption and Buck makes his attention know. These two heat up fast even with the entire club looking on in this entertaining tale.
Did I just unlock a new genre of reading? Never thought I’d be interested in a biker romance, but I picked this up on sale, never having read any of the others. And well, here we are. It’s a fast read, quick pace, insta-love story, which isn’t my usual kind of pick, but sometimes that’s the mood. I loved all the side characters. Would definitely read more of this series to get to know them more.
I'm 're -reading all of the series and if forgotten how good they are. This focuses on an injured hockey player Huck and the daughter of Booker, 'Ducky' a computer nerd. Without giving anything away, it's another well written book with great characters and storyline. I loved it. I always like Hatch and Maisie to be mentioned too so it's a win win.
Don’t like it when women call each other bitches. Not in a friendly way and not when they are best friends. And her insecurities are very over the top and unbelievable. The way she acts around people is very loud and trashy. The way she acts during a bowling game is supposed to be fun but it’s not. It shows that she is a 12 year old playing grown up. Nope not for me. She definitely is a very high maintenance spoilt entitled bitch.
This is one of my favourite series. Each book seems to get better than the one before it. I am in love with Huck! I really enjoyed Daisy as well. They complimented each other so well. This story had it all and I had a hard time putting it down. It could be read as a stand-alone but it really is an amazing series
This is the best one yet…well until the next one. I absolutely loved this book and couldn’t put it down! Huck is drawn to Daisy from their very first encounter! He is alpha, protective and loving. Daisy is a good combo of her mom, Dani and her dad, Booker. This book has it all… romance, steaminess, and suspense that keeps you guessing! I highly recommend it! I can’t wait for more books!!!
I waited for this book and I was not disappointed! Yuck and Daisy met under a strange circumstance but boy their love was off the chain! As a biker princess he had his work cut out but he did good! I love the relationship with her brothers but the best man won! Cyrus got what he deserved!! A must read!
I love Huck and Daisy! I've always loved reading the next generation's stories! The Dogs are so protective of their family and Booker didn't disappoint with his and his sons' ridiculousness of protectiveness! Huck fits right in with the club, Piper found the back of the net with this book!
Huck & Daisy Daisy's father is president of Dogs of Fire MC, after a night out with her girls, she is trying to get a unstuck zipper to work and went next door to her neighbor friend to help, BUT the friends brother answered the door and offered help. Huck is a professional hockey player, visiting his sister after a accident in a game. this is a good read I really loved their story
Love the Dogs of Fire and I absolutely adored Huck and Daisy’s story ❤️❤️❤️ Their instant attraction was beautiful and they had each others backs. A definite page turner and a very entertaining read. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎
Any time a story combines two of my favorite things, hockey and bikers, I know it's going to be a good read. As with pretty much every book I've read by Piper Davenport, I was drawn right in and the story kept me intrigued until the very end. Looking forward to reading the next book soon!!!
