*3.5-Stars ^ 4.0-Stars for Terminal List 06 - "Only The Dead"
*Edited for clarity - September 03, 2026:
Gratuitously gory, deadly mayhem, the goodies survive, the baddies are killed, and the author's political leanings shine through! A generally well-written action-hero story that I 'mostly' enjoyed. I didn't like book 01 of The Terminal List series, nor did I enjoy "Tom Reece 01 - Cry Havoc", but my relative enjoyment of Jack Carr's "The Fourth Option" suggested I should try one of the later books in this series, hence James Reece (Terminal List) 06, "Only The Dead".
Extracts from My Listening Activity:
June 9, 2026, @13%: "Almost two hours of pre-amble, provided mainly by Author Jack Carr, has covered a great deal of what I have missed by not reading/hearing the Terminal List series, except book 1. Carr made it sound like I should regret not having done so."
June 11, 2026 @34%: "Resumed last night after putting "Vine Street" on pause until this book is finished. This story is getting pretty hairy! Excellent writing, too!"
June 16, 2026 @60%: "Another great story by Jack Carr! I needed patience to listen to the narrative as it does seem to "go on" a bit, but it is easily tolerable. The narrative is a bit long-winded, but the information is interesting and contributes well to the story.. :))"
June 17, 2026 @80%: "I think the vengeance meted out by our super-hero, James Reece, is too gratuitously gory to be "entertaining", and he has yet to deal with a few more baddies on his "terminal list" to ensure the world is saved from a planned nuclear conflagration!"
June 18, 2026 @99%: "Gratuitously gory, deadly mayhem, but the good guys survive, the bad guys are killed and the author's politics shine through clearly! A good, generally well-written, action-hero story that I enjoyed - mostly. R + R to come."
