An Unusual Amish Winter Match by Vannetta Chapman! This was such a wonderful story and such amazing characters! As Bachelor Ethan King is working in the Amish livestock market can Ada Yoder convince him she can help him and not cause problems. Can these two realize they are really meant for each other and can work together! I highly recommend this book! I was given a compilatory copy and this is my own honest opinion!

Ethan and I had something in common throughout this book. We were both frustrated with Ada for the first portion. He then found himself intrigued and eventually attracted to her as he learned more about her heart for those around her. I began to like her more when I discovered some of the reasons behind her actions. I also felt that Ada grew a lot in this story. Where she had seemed aimless and flighty before, as the story progressed, her actions became more intentional yet her lighthearted spirit prevailed.
I liked the way these two eventually balanced each other out. Ethan’s seriousness and penchant for planning had given way to stress, worry, and headaches. Ada helped him learn how to bring things back into a healthier balance. Falling for Ethan and growing close to him helped Ada grow up a bit and look forward to responsibility and a life with the man she loved.
This was a sweet story with a lot of growth for both main characters. It is book three in the Indiana Amish Market series, but you could jump into the series and enjoy it even if you haven’t read the earlier books.

To be honest, Ada is my least favorite of Amos Yoder’s five daughters. But I’m not alone in this opinion - Ethan King feels the same way. Her malapropisms drive us crazy, and it often seems she has the attention span of a fruit fly. So frustrating! But somehow over the space of less than 16 chapters, we’ve both come to appreciate the tender heart of this young woman. She is so dedicated to her family, and anyone (or anyTHING) who needs extra love and protection. She is not beyond learning - and TEACHING - real life wisdom. Ethan and I both benefited from hearing her say, “I didn’t have to believe everything I thought.” What a practical way to view our incessant worries! I love how the problems facing the Kings and Yoders brought them closer to each other and the Lord. Guess you can teach an old sheep new tricks?!

Ada is such a sweet character that just wants her family to be happy and safe. That family includes her misfit menagerie of animals she has saved.

I’ve enjoyed this series about Amish sisters and the market their father owns. It offers possibilities for plenty of interaction and problems, which make for an intriguing story. This novel features the flighty youngest sister, Ada Yoder, who comes up against auctioneer Ethan King. These opposites frustrate each other, but, like a magnet, they can either repel or attract. The unfolding story touches the heart. It’s sweet to see how their character and attraction grow. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

This book definitely needs a genre tag of “Humor”. I laughed and laughed at every one of Ada’s incorrect quotes. An uplifting, fun read.

I enjoy this series and I hope she writes more about this family. I don’t know if I believe the way Ada acts is really Amish. We live in Amish country in Missouri and I don’t think I have ever met anyone who is Amish who obsesses over technology the way Ada does, she just didn’t seem realistic. Other than that the story was very good.

AN UNUSUAL AMISH WINTER MATCH by Vannetta Chapman is the third book in the Indiana Amish Market series. It’s the fabulous story of Amish bachelor Ethan King and Ada Yoder, who has her own way of thinking about things, as they work through their differences finding out that they might have more in common than their love of family as they are forced to work side by side.
Ada seems to going through life aimlessly working at one job after another with no real goal in mind only to leave each when it didn’t work out. The one asset she has is her ability to make others smile with her misquotes that seem to flow freely from her mouth. Each of her sisters have something they are really good at, but Ada can’t seem to find her niche. That is until her father sent her to work in the auction area of Shipshewana’s Outdoor Market, which he is the manager of. That’s when she realized her great love for animals – especially the underdogs so to speak, which had her becoming the owner of a great menagerie of critters – seven Beagle pups, a Boer goat, a blind baby donkey, and a momma cat and all her kittens.
Ethan’s felt like a grown-up way before his age said he was. With a bi-polar father and mother trying to keep a home while dealing with her husband’s actions, left most of the “adult” responsibilities on his shoulder as the oldest. After his parent’s left for Florida and deeded over the farm to him and his brother, the responsibilities just increased as the brothers worked to farm the land. A flood followed by a drought sent them both to finding outside jobs. He’s happy that his brother’s found his life partner and thrilled to have the happy couple living in the family home, but it’s an extremely small home. And now there’s a baby on the way. Seems all Ethan knows how to do is worry and to keep working as hard and as long as possible. Now he’s forced to work with Ada, who is the most unresponsible person he knows. She’s pretty for sure and certain, but oh my how she irritated him with her childish ways! How will he keep his sanity and work alongside her every day? Just another worry to add to his pile.
Will Ada be able to get Ethan to lighten up? Can Ethan show Ada what it’s like to take responsibility for one’s life and actions or how hard life is to some? Will the fact that both Ethan’s sister-in-law (Bethany - who is also Ada’s sister) and Ada’s other sister Becca having difficult pregnancies and needing their help lead to them both accepting certain facts (like the other’s way of thinking) and seeing how we need one another in life? Can Ada show Ethan that living in a small house and having little doesn’t mean that you can’t be rich in the important things of life? Is it possible to find middle ground if one matures and one loosens up?
AN UNUSUAL AMISH WINTER MATCH is a story you won’t be able to stop yourself but to read in one sitting. The interaction between the characters, especially Ada and Ethan, will have you seeing both side of the coin (or as Ada would say “Both sides of the cookie”, because who doesn’t love both sides of those). If like me, I love Ada’s variation to the sayings we hear so often making them memorable and comical at the same time. If love is a give and take, then Ada and Ethan are bound to made a great couple because they are so different at the start, but both learn to give a little and take a little making them both better people in the long run. Vannetta Chapman weaves AN UNUSUAL AMISH WINTER MATCH with such an amazing thread of faith and then sprinkles it with Christmas magic to make it a story you will love – and one you will want to share with others just as I am doing now. An Unusual Amish Winter Match by Vannetta Chapman is a cute story. Ada is unlike her older sisters. She cannot cook, knit, or sew (she should be kept away from knitting needles). Ada is quirky with an upbeat attitude. She has a problem keeping a job which is how she has ended up working at the Shipshewana Outdoor Market where her father is the manager as a Girl Friday. It is a good thing her father has a laid-back attitude (with all those daughters he needs one). Ada has a soft spot for animals, especially the young and those that are getting up in years. Ada’s mixed-up phrases and actions had me chuckling. Ethan is an auctioneer at the market and Ada’s interference is affecting his commissions. Ethan’s brother, Aaron, is married to Ada’s sister, Bethany. Ethan’s orderly life is upended by Ada, and it is giving him a headache (literally). I like Vannetta Chapman’s writing style. Her stories are easy to read with realistic characters and situations. I loved the humor sprinkled throughout the story. Faith was nicely woven into the story. We are reminded that at Christmas the best gifts are those that cannot be purchased. The special gifts are those that come from the heart. Family, friends, romance, and faith are the featured elements. An Unusual Amish Winter Match is the third novel in the Indiana Amish Market series. While it can be read on its own, I recommend reading all the books in this charming series. An Unusual Amish Winter Match is a diverting tale with cute kittens, adorable dogs, an albino donkey, an aggravated auctioneer, supportive sisters, and benevolent bishop.

Ada, Ada, Ada! Lol, you just got to love her!
She makes you smile and giggle while reading this story. Just like all the sisters say, it's an Ada-ism, whenever she misquotes, normal sayings.
This story made me smile alot. It's hard not to though, when you have Ada saying the things she says, acting as clueless as does, as well. Her attitude, energy, personality, smile, are all enlightening to those around her, as well as infectious.
Ada has been fired from numerous jobs, because she's either too talkative, wabders off, too slow, or simply messes up. She feels like she doesn't belong or how to just 'be'.
Her dat puts her to work at the Auction & Flea Market that he owns & operates there in the town of Shipshe, but she seems to cause trouble, but not willingly or understandably knowlingly. She's a mess by standards of Ethan King, who also works at the Auction.
Ethan tries to explain to Ada what her actions at one of his sales, that he was auctioneering at, could cause.
However, Ada in her own ways and ideas, sees it differently, which frustrates Ethan even more. In his eyes, Ada seems very aloof and careless, and carefree too.
Ada, though, being the youngest in the family, is very observant and caring when it comes to others. She's always smiling and upbeat, even when things seem down.
This story shows you so much more of Ada, as well as her growth in maturity!
I loved this book. It's a must read for sure and certain!!

Thank you Vannetta for providing this book to me in return for an honest review and honestly the timing couldn't have been better. This book was such a delight to read from beginning to end. I love all of the Yoder girls and confess that Eunice might be the most unusual and different of all the girls but they are all a joy in their own way. Ada is a delight. I am glad how the story progressed and how Ethan changed to be the perfect man for her. She changed too. Without realizing she was taking on more of the tasks usually associated with Amish women and was maturing. Still full of fun, still with her crazy sayings but, definitely a more mature manner to go along with all these things. Each time we are taken to Shipshe by Vannetta with this series, it takes me back to my trip to Shipshewana. I had visited several Amish Communities but Shipshe warmed my heart in so many different ways and I am enjoying my visits through this series and cannot wait to go back again in person. If you are a Vannetta Chapman fan you are in for an absolute Amish treat with this book. If you have not read any of Vannetta Chapman's books, even though this is part of a series it can be read alone and is so sweet, inspirational and delightful that I am sure it will hook you in and Vannetta will gather more new fans.

Ada has been my favorite character in this series and I am so glad we get her story. Don’t get me wrong, all of the characters and their storylines have been wonderful, heartwarming and so good, but they are not as endearing to me as Ada has been.
Ada is unlike her sisters, truthfully, she is different than most Amish girls her age. Cooking, sewing, anything domestic holds no interest for her. Animals, incessant talking and turning common phrases around to where some people have no clue what she means is much more to her liking.
Ethan is much more settled, responsible, and mature as he must be given his situation. When he works with Ada the sparks fly and not in a good way, they have a different work ethic, differing views and yet, there is just something that he finds irresistible about her. Her love of animals, protecting them, adopting them made her special to me, she has always been a good, decent person, she just had to find what makes her happy.
Overall, I thought this was a charming, delightful, written book. I love how this series is suitable for readers of all ages which is why I highly recommend it.

An Unusual Amish Winter Match is another wonderful story written by Vannetta Chapman. This book is the third book in The Indiana Market Series. The setting for this book is the beautiful Amish community of Shipshewana, Indiana. Several of the places in this story really do exist in Shipshewana. It was so nice to read about places that I had visited. The main characters in this story were Ethan King and Ada Yoder. You will fall in love with these two characters. Ethan is very serious and Ada is quite the opposite. Ethan is not very happy that Ada is working with him. Ada has a knack of mixing up famous quotes. I actually laughed out loud several times while reading this book! Vannetta Chapman is a very talented writer who pulls the reader into the story in the very first chapter and holds your attention until the very last page! It's one of those stories that you just can't put down! I stayed up late reading it because it was so good! I guarantee that you will love reading this book! Vannetta Chapman writes the best books ever!!

Touching Story
Ada Yoder is quite unique. She can't hold a job, is somewhat flighty, and has a habit of misquoting sayings, but she's also very caring. On the other hand, Ethan King is dead serious, is carrying the weight of everything on his shoulders and can be quite broody, but he's also very caring. There is no way that these polar opposites could ever be anything more than an annoyance to each other, or is it?
Ada and Ethan's story is truly touching. They each have a past that they carry which plays into how they deal with situations and with each other. It's sometimes funny, sometimes painful and overall very endearing. It's a lovely story that is sure to touch your heart and leave you with a smile on your face.

Ada is not your "typical" Amish girl. She deeply loves animals and is very conscientious about seeing to their well-being. She is a somewhat quirky character, and that will make you like her even more! Ethan is sensible, serious and Ada is none of that which seems to maybe annoy him just a bit... But serious family issues may cause them to help out and end up spending unwanted time together.
I really enjoyed this sweet Amish romance and you never know the circumstances that bring people together. I am sure you will love it too, if you are an Amish fan like me!

Book 3 in the Indiana Amish Market series, An Unusual Amish Winter Match can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend books 1 and 2. They are good reading!
I loved the characters in this book. Ethan is so serious and needs to be shaken up a bit. Ada has a penchant for messing up sayings and likes to make people laugh. But she needs to deal with some hurts. Can they work together as instructed? Mayhem ensues!
A light, fun book that really does deal with some serious issues, I highly recommend it!

An Unusual Amish Winter Match
I loved this book from the minute I started reading it! Ada’s love for animals touched my heart because I love animals, too! Her cute way of changing old sayings was so cute! I couldn’t wait to see what she would say next! Loved this book from beginning to end, especially watching love bloom between Ada and Ethan! I hope there are more books about this family!

My summer reading aims include some "unusual" categories, one of which is romance (and I have read few in it that I've enjoyed). No surprise here, that the two characters who seem so different eventually come together, but of course it's the how that makes the story. Ada's malapropisms become less annoying, and Ethan's doubts get less painful. Overall, the family issues become the plot and are interesting to see wrapped up.

Another great book
I love this series. Ada is so fun with her off quotes she has. When her dad puts her working in the auction barn, working with Ethan King is the last place she wants to be. But then it gets even worse. Will they become friends or always get on each other's nerves. Such a good book I enjoyed very much.

Wonderal
3rd book in series, this one does nor disappoint. Ada is the baby if the family, often coddle and catered to. After having multiple jobs her father gives her another position at the Market, working with the animals at the auction. Ethan took a job as the auctioneer and has very little patience for Adams antics. A funny story.

An Unusual Amish Winter Match is book three in the series An Indiana Amish Market. I really love this story about bachelor Ethan King and Ada Yoder. The characters are well developed for this story. Ethan is really down and he has had it. His crops are failing and he has to take a job at the Market. Pretty Ada and her sunny side is going from job to job. Now she is working at the market with him. He does not need her adding to his job. Ada has some weird saying. I laughed at these two throughout the story. Will they be able to work together? Oh, I loved all the animals at the market. I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Another good story in this series. Ada isn’t my favorite character. Although she is making strides to become less annoying by the end of the story.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was full of laughter as well as some anxious moments. I was glad to see a happy ending for the main characters even though they were complete opposite.
