Sick Love #2

Certifiable Attraction

Rate this book
Dominic

Good things don’t happen to bad people. A lesson I’ve learnt the hard way.

I should have known better. I should have never let myself become so attached to her.

She was the sweetest obsession, an addiction like no other.

Now she’s gone and I’m left with nothing but a black hole where her light used to shine.

Losing her, my Little Bee, is the price I’m forced to pay for all the wrongdoings in my life.

Lucy

Forgotten memories are haunting me day and night. Like nightmares but worse, because I’m certain they’re real.

The doctors say to give it time. That I might remember. While my family tells me I’m alive and that’s all that matters.

They don’t see the faceless man in my dreams, though. They don’t have to constantly feel like something important is missing.

I won’t give up until I have the answers. And when I meet him, I know he’s the key to uncovering the truth. But then he kisses me, and I’m only left with more questions…

Could Dominic McKinley really be the man from my dreams? Or is it all just wishful thinking?

Certifiable Attraction is book 2 of the Sick Love Duet, Book 1 Unhinged Desires should be read first.

Idk, but this second book fell flat for me. They were both wishy-washy and all I got was whiplash from their will-they-wont-they attitude.

Dom was hurt because Lucy forgot him, uhm, as if people have a choice when it comes to amnesia. He said that if what they had was real and important she wouldn't forget him. Like are you serious? Do you think people would've wanted to suffer memory loss?

He also blames himself for the plane crash and he couldn't stomach that Lucy got hurt. So in his head, to protect Lucy he has to stay away from her, buuuut, he would still stalk her and control everything in her life. He's freaking nuts and wouldn't let any man come near her. According to his POV, if he can't have her then no one else can, and both of them have to live alone and miserable. 🤷‍♀️

Lucy knew something was missing in her life. But no one, not even her family said anything to her after she woke up from coma. Technically, it's not her family's fault why they didn't tell her things. Dom made the doctor lie to Lucy's family, he ordered him to tell her family that it wouldn't help if they told her things that happened in the last few months. So Lucy finds answers on her own, and while doing so, she picks up memories along the way. Eventually, she remembered everything and got mad for a very short minute that Dom left her when she needed him the most in the hospital.

Like I said, the MCs were indecisive. Dom is hell bent on pushing her away but then in a hot flash would go crazy saying he doesn't want to be far from her. Until his resolve waver and he ended up invading Lucy's space again (literally and figuratively). As for Lucy, she would be pissed about the questionable things Dom has done, but would also get horny, weak, and pathetic whenever he was close to her. I almost wonder if both of them have multiple personalities. Because I kept rolling my eyes so hard whenever there's a scene where they would be annoyed with one another then would get horny in a hot minute. It's always the body betraying syndrome for the FMC, and I'm just so fed up with that. Why can't she even hold her ground when it comes to Dom?

Also, the main issue in the book felt glossed over, and the sudden appearance of one of the bikers felt like it came out of nowhere. How a 20 year old trust fund psychopath could kill so many bikers in a few hours and get minimal damage/hurt is beyond me. I honestly think that the last 15% was rushed and unnecessary dramas were just thrown in to add another twist for the plot.

Overall, this conclusion didn't work for me. But I'm still glad I got to finish this duet.

The second book. Please read my review about the first book so you can understand it better when you read this😉 OMG. I was waiting for this second book for a long time. I was soooo obsessed with the first book and i cannot wait for the second one😍😍😍 I IMMEDIATELY WENT FOR IT.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I never read a hero who is SOOO DEADLY AND BADLY OBSESSED WITH THE HEROINE LIKE THIS HERO😫❤️ Other heroes in other books i read previously, they usually have SMALL THOUGHT of like why they are doing this for the heroine? Is she even worth it? They usually have small thought like that, like they questioned it. Even some have doubts about it. NOT WITH THIS HERO! THIS HERO DOESN’T EVEN THINK TWICE OR HAVE SMALL THOUGHT OR HESITATES FOR A SECOND FOR THE HEROINE. THE HEROINE IS THE SALVATION FOR HIM❤️❤️🥺 HE WILL DO ANYTHING TO BE WITH HER…. HE IS WILLING TO SACRIFICE HIS OWN LIFE HE SAID BECAUSE THE HEROINE’S LIFE IS MORE PRECIOUS THAN HIM….

From the beginning till the end the hero’s love and obsession for the heroine is endlessly. It’s too romantic like oh my🔥🔥 So prepare yourself when you read from this series because IT’S SAFE ALL THE WAY. AND THE HERO IS DEFINITELY OBSESSED AND STALKING THE HEROINE AND WANTS THE HEROINE LIKE NO OTHER….

Dominic is my favorite hero for this year. PERIODT 🔥🔥🔥🔥

“I fucking love you, Lucy, more than life itself. If it’s a choice between you and me, I will choose you every single fucking time.”

🥺🥺

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO HERE IS DIFFERENT IF YOU NEVER READ A DIFFERENT OR Psychopath hero. Psychopath heroes are very extremely different but also unique to me. They are super and over the top possessive protective to the heroine only. They will do anything to keep and make the heroine happy. They will put the heroine first above anything else even themselves. They are so selfless to the heroine. They will kill anyone who even look and tries to flirt with the heroine. JUST A WARNING BEFORE YOU READ THIS. BUT PERSONALLY FOR ME, I LIKE A HERO LIKE THAT😩😍 ESPECIALLY THE HERO ONLY HAVE EYES FOR HER AND IT’S SAFE ALL THE WAY😩😍 NO BULLSH*T AND NO UNNECESSARY CHILDISH DRAMA OMG THE BEST😩😍

‼️‼️‼️TRIGGERS: Plane accident (but not too detailed about it which is good lol), high on violences, killing, alcohol, memory loss and hospital.

‼️‼️‼️SAFE ROMANTIC VERY HOT OBSESSION LOVE STORY.

‼️‼️‼️NO CHEATING

‼️‼️‼️IT HAS SEPARATION FOR MONTHS but not too long… The separation happened because the heroine and hero got into a plane accident and the heroine suffer from a little amnesia that cost her totally forgot about the hero. Crazy i know😫 But thank goodness it only lasted with a short time. Not a long time… And eventually the heroine remember little by little about the hero. And even try to remember it for herself like finding out by herself. AND BOTH ARE VERY LOYAL TO EACH OTHER. BOTH NEVER EVER GO TO ANYONE ELSE…

The heroine wants like she have the small thought of wanting to have s3x with someone else but she knows deep down that only the hero can do that for her… And she immediately turn those crazy thoughts away. Which is good. And also at the time she was trying to remember the hero… AND WHEN HER MEMORIES COMES BACK, OH BOY. IT WAS A EPIC SCENE 😆😆

‼️‼️‼️THE HERO IS OVER THE TOP POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE BILLIONAIRE STALKER ALPHA MALE.

Please read my review on the first book for more info about the hero’s personality and if he is a manwhor3 or not lol. It’s more detailed tho….

‼️‼️‼️SO THE SECOND BOOK is more about the heroine and hero fixing their relationship to be better. The heroine have memory loss about the hero and everything about him, the hero is trying to figure it out on how to fix the relationship and also fixing himself to be better for her. Because the heroine is the only thing that matters to him… I felt a bit annoyed with the heroine have to suffer from that but also it’s fun seeing the hero will do everything for the heroine…

‼️‼️‼️NO EX GIRLFRIEND BOYFRIEND FVCK BUDDY EVER SHOWS UP FROM BOTH SIDES….

‼️‼️‼️DRAMA WITH THEMSELVES, FAMILY AND ENEMIES…

‼️‼️‼️AND YES THE HERO IS SOOOO OBSESSED AND WANTS THE HEROINE SOOOOOOO BADLY….

And yes the SOOOO is pretty much like that! 🔥🔥🔥🤣 The hero’s obsession with the heroine is on another level ❤️ He even wants to wash her hair, brush her hair for her, dry her body with a towel and making sure she is taken care of like totally taken care of! 😍 When the heroine is sick like only have a fever, the hero called three doctors cause he is that overprotective of her 🥺 When they were in a plane crash, the hero was badly hurt but he carries the heroine to safety first than him 🥺❤️ OMG. SO MANY!!!!! All of his phone, electronics gadgets, bank accounts and even his own houses and properties, THE PASSWORDS for it all is the heroine’s name and birthdate. And he even already buy those things under the heroine’s name. He doesn’t care if the heroine like it or not, he still do it because he is that crazy for her 😆🥺❤️❤️🔥

“You can’t even shit without them spreading it across the tabloids. I mean, the heir to the greatest dynasty. Hearts are going to break all across the country when news breaks that you’ve been snagged up.”
“Let ʼem break. There’s only one heart I care about and that’s yours.” 🥺

“You know I’ll take you anywhere you want to go. I just want to be clear about one thing first. Just because I buy you something, it doesn’t make it any less yours than if you were to buy it yourself,” I tell her.

‼️‼️‼️MANY JEALOUS SCENES FROM THE HERO AS ALWAYS AND LITTLE BY THE HEROINE…

“He looked at Lucy once, and when I approached him and told him what I was planning to do to his eyeballs should he look at her again, he laughed. Fucking laughed.”

‼️‼️‼️DUAL POV

‼️‼️‼️HAPPY ENDING 🥺

Even at the wedding, the hero only focused is the heroine… He got so lost in her many times and always 😍🥺😩❤️

The extended epilogue is twenty years later when they’re kids already growing up 🥺❤️ I can’t wait to read their stories… Hopefully no manwhor3 and hopefully no ex boyfriend ex girlfriend shows up lol🤣 wishful thoughts 👻

👉🏽👉🏽👉🏽Thank you so much for reading my review❤️ For you who loves my review and follow it, THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did not get paid or be told to do a review on a book. I’m here just to write review about a book so i can remember it. Its my honest opinion😚 I didn’t know at first people will find me and follow me and trust me to be honest, I was surprised myself to look at the notifications from people who reach out to me😆 So everything i write down here on a review is based on my personal opinion and based on my true writing. I DID NOT COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW OR WRITING SKILL because at first when i was using this app for one year i didn’t know how to scroll down on a book and see the reviews from others😂😅🤣 I know, silly me but hey I finally learned my lesson 😛😛😛 Thats why when people assume i copy someone’s review i was like what? Because at first i didn’t know how to use this app properly and i didn’t know how to open someone’s review because for a year i never follow someone or add friends or someone😂😂😂🤣 (I’m laughing so hard) 🤪 AND I NEVER COPY SOMEONE’S REVIEW EVER. IF I WRITE SOMETHING WRONG OR DOESN’T MAKE SENSE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND BE NICE OKAY. 👈🏽👈🏽👈🏽✋🏽✋🏽 IF YOU'RE BEING MEAN AND NEGATIVE ALREADY WITH A WARNING AND NOT BEING WISE TO ME, I WILL NOT ENTIRELY READ YOUR COMMENT AND REMOVE YOU EASILY AND FAST. I DO NOT TOLERATE NEGATIVE COMMENT SO KNOW YOUR PLACE, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I’m writing my disclaimer again here cause many negative people still don't get it or still be stupid enough not to understand my POV when I already write it so many times before. So here I am writing it again to you beautifuls human being😁😁 WHEN YOU READ MY LONG OR SHORT REVIEW, YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WHAT I LIKE ABOUT A STORY AND CHARACTERS RIGHT... IF YOU DON'T KNOW THEN HERE IT IS: I LIKE A BOOK WITH VERY POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE, NO CHEATING, AND PLEASE NO MANWHOR3, NO MANY PUSHING AWAY, NO DOORMAT HEROINES, NO MANY OW DRAMA, NO S3X SCENE WITH SOMEONE ELSE. AND SAFE ALL THE WAY AND A HAPPY ENDING. Something that I don't like it very much if the hero or heroine have a crazy fvcked up personality and likes. Example: killing someone and let the heroine watch it all and push the heroine to lick all the blood of his victim and made her have to eat the meat of humans. and fvcks many woman in front of the heroine while telling her he loves her. I DON'T LIKE THAT TYPE OF SH*T AT ALL. That's just who I am, that's what I like and I don't like on a book. Maybe you love that, but I don't. We humans are different, we think very differently from one another. You have your likes and I have mine, you have your opinions and I have mine of my own. You think it's stupid of me to love such a book or to not love a book or to hate it whatever lol, I think it's bad you think that way cause I respect people's opinions cause I know for a fact we have our differences. YOU AND ME ARE DIFFERENT FOR PETE'S SAKE. I even have my own friends or people I follow here that shows how much they don't like the book I like, I never even give them a long comment or short Comment. Cause I respect their opinions. I don't like to give people I hard time here cause life itself is already hard enough. I do respect your opinion if you say my review is bad or whatever negative things about it, but in the end of the day I will not changed my mind about what book I dislike and how my thoughts about it. You can't tell me what to do. You can give me advice but it's me who decided to know what's right for me, this is my life and not yours. Read that again. Don’t assume things about me that is not even real, just don’t. cause when you do you’re more small minded for sure. You're thinking why I'm telling you all of this when you already know? Is because you still hating on my opinions and don't understand my POV and don't respect my POV. You think i like writing this disclaimer when obviously you're an adult already? no i personally think this is unnecessary... but because there are people out there who still don't get it *rolling my eyes*. Hopefully they or the people who read this disclaimer can use a beautiful thing called a brain:) AND WHEN YOU READ MY REVIEW, READ IT VERY CLEARLY TO SEE IF I FINISHED THE BOOK OR NOT. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE. AND YES ENGLISH IS NOT MY FIRST LANGUAGE. BUT IF YOU UNDERSTAND WHAT I'M WRITING, THEN IT MEANS YOU UNDERSTAND IT ENOUGH. I DO NOT TOLERATE BULLYING, NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND MEAN WORDS. PLEASE USE A WISE WORDS SO WE DON'T ATTACK EACH OTHER. SIMPLY, I DON’T LIKE TO HAVE AN ARGUMENT WITH STRANGERS LIKE YOU CAUSE I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO😚 BUT IF YOU STILL WANT TO BE AMBER HEARD KARENS THAT DON'T UNDERSTAND MY DISCLAIMER AFTER I JUST WRITE IT DOWN, THEN GO ENJOY YOUR DAY AND GO AWAY. IT'S VERY EASY FOR A HUMAN COULD DO YA KNOW. IF YOU STILL HERE HATING ME OR ANNOYED WITH ME, THAT'S YOUR PROBLEM. NOT ME PROBLEM. HASHTAGS BURN😂😂 DON'T TAKE THINGS TOO PERSONALLY ON ONLINE CAUSE WE ALL A STRANGERS, WE NEVER EVER MEET. WE'RE ADULTS HERE SO LETS BE WISER. LAST, I BLOCK NEGATIVE PEOPLE! SO GET WELL SOON TO THE HATERS. HOPEFULLY YOUR HEART AND MIND WILL BE MORE POSITIVE 🙏🙏🙏 AND THIS DISCLAIMER MAY SEEMS LIKE TOO HARSH ON YOU BUT HEY I DON'T LIKE TO SUGAR COATED THINGS. I LIKE TO SAY TO THE POINT WITH MY UNDERSTANDING AND MY OWN THOUGHTS, CAUSE THAT'S HOW HUMANS ARE. WE ARE DIFFERENT REMEMBER👍 HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!

No, just no. How can you destroy a hot character like this? Dom from the first book could never.

✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌
This is the reason I prefer standalones.
The story and characters were just destroyed…
The first book was an enjoyable stalker romance while this one was just unnecessary and boring. The accident causes that Lucy lost her memory and Dom decides that he will stop seeing her and just ignores her. This is so out of character because he is literally obsessed with her. How could he left her after a traumatising accident?? Don‘t like this. He often says something like „if it was worth remembering she would remember“, like brooo our girl Lucy was hurt and suffers and you say shit like that? Baaaah.

Didn’t quite enjoy this one as the last one. The chemistry between the characters was lovely, the characters I still enjoyed very much.
It’s just the drama in this book was way to pointless for me, I didn’t like it.

I still enjoyed the duet and the characters. 💙

This sequel was entirely too predictable. I skipped a few chapters here and there. Nothing happened really!! It missed the mark for me. I loved Lucy and Dominic but this could have been one book instead of duet. But it was FUN reading. The tropes were amazing.

I’m just incapable of leaving a book on DNF.

This was an okay read. Not terrible, but definitely not my favorite. I really enjoyed the first book, so I went into this one with pretty high expectations, but it just didn’t hit the same. It was short and easy to get through, but I honestly don’t think it needed to be a second book. The story could’ve been wrapped up in one.

During book one I feel like I was in a speeding car, laughing hysterically, screaming with glee, kicking my feet with delight, swinging my head back and forth. Then with this book, the author slams on the breaks but I kept moving, my seatbelt locked the fuck up and burned my neck while spittle flew out of my mouth and hit the windshield. Then, as I was thrown back into my hard seat, it was absolutely quiet in the car.

I hate an amnesia story line in a second book. It just gives the author an excuse to either repeat/rely heavily on book one. I hate that she gave Lucy amnesia. So now book two is them separated and Lucy slowly trying to remember, while our poor Dom stews in his discontent. With book one we had character development. Dom was going from a psychopath to a somewhat normal-ish (kinda) guy, showing his sensitive side and his gooey heart. Lucy was going from a normal girl, trapped in her rich life, to a free, darkness-accepting character. The author should've continued with that! It would've made for an emotional, beautiful, romantic transformation, with a soulmate feel. Instead the author stopped all the progress. She hit the fucking breaks on the story. Ugh. I’m so disappointed.

Sure, shit got a little better once Lucy remembers (half the fucking way in), but the obsessive behavior, the stalking, the jealousy, the possessive Dom, took a huge step back until then. We didn’t get to see his gooey heart that, after digging through all the psychopath, we were almost to his soft center. We didn’t get to see Lucy continue on her downward spiral into the perfect match to Dom’s psychopathy. *stomps foot*

AND HE LEFT HER??? What the fuck kind of obsession is that???

“Unhinged” is uncontrollable, obsessive, possessive, PASSION! *grabs at chest*. “Attraction” is merely beauty through eyeballs. THIS SHOULD HAVE ONLY BEEN ONE BOOK.

This is one of few books that broke my heart in chapter one. I very nearly didn't read on for fear of not recovering, but I persisted, and boy am I glad I did.

Dominic has been at Lucy's bedside for 2 weeks following the plane crash, waiting for her to wake up. Her final words to him before they crashed, "I love you." However, when she awakens, she doesn't remember him. Amnesia wiped the last 2 months and all memory of him, their relationship, and her love.

Lucy may not remember him, but she dreams of a man, and there are traces even though he couldn't erase as she embarks on a mission to find her memories.

This is a fantastic continuation of unhinged desires, touch her and ☠️ vibes, and a badass FMC, especially with a baseball bat 🤣

Amazing Conclusion

After the plane crash at the end of book one we were left saying no don’t leave us hanging like that. However as I finished book 1 at 9pm the night before book twos release I only had 3 hours to wallow in despair. Things are touch and go for Dom & Lucy and Dom loses his head even more if that’s at all possible . When Lucy is in danger Dom will do anything to keep her safe even if he puts himself in danger . Fantastic ending loved hearing from characters from previous books especially Josh & Bree and that the pigs are still getting fed.

An epic conclusion of this beautiful duet

Errrrmmm wow...How do I even begin to discuss my emotions from this book.

I think I ping ponged so much but for the best reasons. Kent was able to make me hurt and yearn right alongside the characters, she made me want to slap one or maybe a few of them upside the head, laugh with the cousins and scoff at the parental units at times... yes you heard me some of our OG family also are quite heavily involved in this book. Don't worry you don't have to have read the Merge series (1st and 2nd Generation) or the McKinley Ranch duet before you read the Sick Love Duet but if you want the full experience and understanding of family dynamics I totally would. But most of all she made me enjoy the couple and their story.

Don't for one second think that Lucy is a shrinking violet or the Dominic is anything less than an alpha but these two compliment each other so well and their love transcends... other than that I cannot and will not spoil the story.

Relax into Certifiable Attraction and have your emotions played with in the best way...

The Sick Love duet is complete. Kylie Kent finished off Dom and Lucy's story beautifully. The pair deserved something special and she gave it to us.

Unhinged Desires ended in such a dramatic way that I was both furious and praising Kylie's writing so I really wanted big things for Certifiable Attraction and the emotion in this story, particularly with Dominic, was outstanding. Especially since he doesn't quite feel things the way others do and while he continues that you could still feel for him in his actions and his inability to process.

The first quarter of the book was like a knife to the heart watching both Lucy and Dom struggle with the aftermath of the accident. It was heartbreaking and traumatic to go through with them. Lucy had it easiest but you could still feel how hard it was for her being in the dark so to speak.

When it all came to a head and they moved forward there were some terrific fireworks in and out of the bedroom. It wasn't happily ever after quite yet because Dominic's dark side lands them both on the radar of some dangerous people. Everyone will learn just how dangerous Dominic McKinley actually is though.

I loved this duet and that extra epilogue you can download was worth it. Kylie isn't done with the McKinley's, Valentino's, and Williamson's yet and I hope she never is. I want more.

Dominic has never been as lost as he is right now. The crash could have cost him the only person he's ever had real feelings for. Despite his inability to understand them and all the ways he thought he needed to end her, she is now his whole world. If Lucy never recovers neither will he.

Lucy wakes up with no memories of the last few months, seeing her brother and best friend clearly loved up is the first sign she's missing something. When it's clear everyone is keeping something from her it only infuriates her. She knows there is something missing but she can't figure out what it is. Each little piece she gets back only makes her more determined to find it.

While he fights with himself to stay away from her, Dominic is falling to pieces. His anger and his dark ways are barely contained beneath the surface. Only Lucy can calm his swirling chaos but no matter how much everyone says he's making a mistake he can't give in and ruin her with his darkness a second time.
'I can't bring her back into the darkness of my world. No matter how much I need her to light my path.'

Once Lucy finds her way back to Dominic there is no turning back. Despite whatever is in their way, including Dominic himself, nothing will keep them apart.

'I used to think she'd be my downfall, that her touch would damage me beyond repair. And I was right. Because this obsession, love, devotion I have for my Little Bee is nothing short of terminal. It's also a life sentence because I will love this woman till the day I die. And long after too.'

Happy Reading.

oooooh Dominic….. and the best extended epilogue

First off- I love this whole crazy world. Stating with the Merged series and until the end of time (hopefully!) as we keep getting the next generations. Love it. It’s a great ride. These are my fallback comfort rereads because they’re fun and steamy and always enjoyable no matter how many times I read them. These alpha men fall hard for their women, usually at first sight, and are OTT possessive and protective. And the McKinleys bring the crazy train. And Dom? He’s the conductor of that train ride.

This is part two in a duet featuring Lucy and Dom. He’s definitely a morally gray character. And deliciously unhinged. I’m not quite sure how he’s Dean’s son and not Josh’s though… those two are two peas in a pod. Dom and Lucy’s relationship starts off with him stalking her and considering ending her life. So not exactly traditional. TBH the first part of the duet wasn’t my fave, though it was more enjoyable to me towards the end. It wasn’t even the unhinged Dom that made it off for me, but the progression of Lucy’s feelings felt off to me somehow initially. It ended on a shocking cliffy, and this one starts where that book left off. And now Lucy has lost her memories of the previous few months, including everything about Dom.

You will want to throttle Dom for a good part of the book. If I saw “if something is worth remembering, you’d remember” one more time, I was going to throw my Kindle. Like that’s now how amnesia works, dude. What I really wanted was for Lucy or literally ANYONE to call him out and respond with “if someone is important to you, you don’t abandon them when they almost die”. She did eventually sort of come out with a comment like that, which made me happy. And the baseball bat scene had me cheering for her. He definitely needs someone strong enough to push back and stand up to him. And she brought it.

These two are perfect together, even if it’s a bumpy ride to their HEA. I adore getting to see the rest of the very large extended family, and love their relationships. It’s a big part of all of the books in this world. And do NOT amiss the extended epilogue! You will regret it! So so good!

I wanted to love this book duo, but unfortunately it fell a bit flat for me. I liked the story line and idea, but both books read like an index of other characters. We meet probably twenty different characters that are all given crazy interesting snippets that I think are meant to entice you to read their corresponding story. The issue is all it did was pull me out of the story I was currently reading. Also it is very hard to remember each character because there were so many who had similar backgrounds. I found myself flipping back and forth to confirm who was who. I also HATE when family refers to each other as cuz or bro because who in the real world does this? I get the author is trying to remind you of the relationship between the characters, but that can be done without greeting each other as my favorite cuz every time they see one another.

Also the way that the characters were all “bad ass” in their own way but didn’t step in or really help Dom in any way isn’t fitting of who I imagine those characters are in their own stories. Dom is literally out here murdering people left and right and his dad is just like “we’re here for you, you can’t keep doing this” and that’s it?

The way that Dom leaves her and is mad at her for having amnesia? I can see his character doing something like that but I didn’t really like the way it was written. It just fell short for me in terms of having any actual substance.

Overall, I like the idea and there were some really great moments. Definitely a fun easy read when you’re in a slump or having a book hangover, but not something that will have you dying for more.

The first book ended on such a cliffhanger that I felt compelled to continue reading to see how it all turned out.❤️❤️❤️

After the plane crash, Dominic and Lucy arrived at the hospital. When she wakes up from a coma, she has no recollection of Dominic or their previous relationship at all. As a result of this realization, he abandons her at the hospital. Because of the doctor's orders, no one in her family is willing to talk to her about the time she can't recall. However, she can't shake the flashbacks to her time spent with Dominic that keep appearing in her dreams. She initially has trouble making sense of everything, but after learning that Dominic was her boyfriend, she becomes adamant about knowing the truth. Oh boy, and let's just say he'll be glad he has the new car she bought for him when she remembers. 🏏 Dominic will do what he does best with the support of his loved ones, despite the persistent danger they face. To my surprise, he does have some friends.😍

Favorite Highlights/Quotes:
❤️Please kiss me Dominic? I've been thinking about it ever since you kissed me in the gym. I've never been kissed liked that before and I want it again. Like what? Like you want to inhale the breath right out of my lungs, like you want to suck out my soul into your own body. You kissed me like I was your lifeline.

I got chills reading this novel. Dominic's compassionate nature was on full display. His psychopathic tendencies haven't vanished. And the scenes they shared were real, touching, and incredibly passionate. 😘🔥😘

4.5 Stars and will explain why later.

After that cliffhanger, I was unsurprisingly antsy for the conclusion of the duet. The first book sucked me into the Dominic McKinley universe and this one definitely made my heart sing.

Lucy and him have a long road ahead after she loses all memory of him following the plane crash. But something keeps popping up in her dreams. Dominic is no help at first- the big doofus. He steps away but yeah that doesn’t last long when she wants answers. Unfortunately they still have a big threat over their head and Dominic will do what he does best with help of family and friends. Yes he does have friends.

This book gave me all the goosebumps. Dominic really showed his caring side. Don’t worry his psychotics side is still there. And the scenes they had were raw, emotional, and of course super steamy.

My only issue was his lack of interactions with his parents . There was some really good moments in the first book that should have been carried over.

Worth the wait

I'm kinda bummed the story is over, but it ended perfectly. I had my doubts about Dom and Lucy in the beginning, but they have made the list of favorite couples for me. I still feel like Dom is more like his uncle Josh than his dad Dean. The story picks up where the first book ended. After the plane crashed, Lucy didn't remember being with Dom and he felt it was better this way. He felt responsible for hurting her. Lucy knows something is missing from her life and no one is willing to fill in the blanks. Eventually she regains her memory and she is very angry at Dom for walking out on her and for the others not telling her who he is to her. He has to earn her love again. There is some unexpected drama, but HEA happens. I will read again at some point as I have with the "Merged Series".

So what can I say about these books?
The first in the duet is slow paced as it's all about building Dom's obsession with Lucy. He's a few sandwiches short of a picnic and doesn't know if he wants to hurt her, or keep her.
Towards the end of book 1 is where the consequences of Dom's actions start to kick in and the pace explodes. The books will take you on a rollercoaster of a ride!

There are a lot of characters that pop in and out of these books, which are related to the authors' other works and it has been suggested that you read those first. However, this was my first introduction to this world and I found I was able to follow the storyline without any issues.

Overall I really enjoyed these books - there's plenty of character development, some gore and spice with a HEA. I'll definitely be revisiting the world thanks to that bonus epilogue thats left me wanting more!

I really enjoyed the first part of this duet, but omg I LOVED the second. This one is right after the big cliff hanger in book one and I loved the direction she went with the amnesia trope. I thought it brought so many emotions to the story, a heart break because she doesn’t remember the past few months. I loved the journey that Lucy and Dominic had to go on from their and their journey to find their way back to each other. I also loved how Dominic showed real emotions and struggled with rational thinking because of his mental sate with what was all going on. And Lucy was so strong and determined FMC. I just really felt all the feels with this one, anger, frustration, love, sadness, anxiety, laughter, with a bit of action/suspense and those type books will forever be my favourite. I am looking forward to reading more of this authors work!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
I finished Certifiable Attraction by Kylie Kent yesterday and I absolutely loved it!

Certifiable Attraction is book 2 of the Sick Love Duet, Book 1 Unhinged Desires should be read first. This book follows on the story of Dom & Lucy and I thought it was a perfect second book. The first book ends on a cliffhanger so I needed to pick up this book to find out what happened!

I rated book one 4 ⭐️s but I found this book even better. The book is written in dual POV (which I love) and duet is a dark stalker romance.

It took me a while to read this book compared to the first one as I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump but I found it super easy to read and I was just hooked in the story line.

I cannot wait to read more of Kylie Kent’s books as I just think her writing is great!

(SPOILERS)
I literally started and finished this book in like 3 hours it was sooo good!!!! There was a lot more plot twists, I was on the edge of my seat when the biker group was after Lucy and Dom, Dom’s family had a lot more personality and banter in this book too which I loved. I was waitinggg for Lucy to get her memories back after the crash and i’m so glad she did. Loved every second of Dominic’s unhinged POVs, Lucy’s sass, Uncle Josh, Axe, Ash, Bree and Hope’s appearances and banter. Love love loveee!! I was confused by the ending and Lucy’s children’s POVs but I think it’s just because there’s books I should’ve read for background on Dominic’s family and the other mafia families. Other than the ending, sooo good. The kids POVS in the extended epilogue is the only reason I wouldn’t give this 5*

Such a fantastic book!

Sometimes when you are so eager for a book release, you worry that it may not live up to your expectations.  But with Certifiable Attraction, Part 2 of the Sick Love Duet) by Kylie Kent there was no need to worry. Because WOW!!! This book had everything -  captivating characters, a compelling story, the perfect blend of drama and emotional angst, plus spicy hot romance. Dom and Lucy are true soulmates and nothing can keep them apart, not even amnesia. This book was so good I finished it in one day. I loved seeing people from previous books and the extended epilogue made me excited for another generation of characters. Ms. Kent has moved to my auto buy list because she delivers every time!

Dom and Lucy

After that cliffhanger in Unhinged Desires, I was unsure how the second book would go. I honestly fell even more for Dom. He may not have gone about it the right way, but everything he did and sacrificed was for Lucy. The amnesia trope is one of my favorites and this was such a different spin on it.

I thought this was the perfect second act for this duet. All the questions were answered. Dom proved to be just as crazy as his Uncle Josh, and Lucy was Dom’s perfect match. Their families fit together seamlessly, they were both obsessed with each other and they both accepted each other as they were.

This was a fantastic duet. I loved getting to see some familiar characters and being introduced to future ones. Kylie’s world all connect and I love that.

Loving the baseball bat....

So I was really v thrown by what Dom did in this one. For someone who is as obsessed and in love with a girl and he just does that??? Hmm I'd be mad too. I think Lucy is actually really justified in what she did. Anyway, this one seemed to circle a bit. In trouble, now their not, in trouble now their not. And the ending Of the drama was a little anticlimactic but I still enjoyed the brand of crazy in this. plus I loved the hea aspect to this as well. If your looking for a stalker romance with a touch her and you will meet my pigs vibe along with steamy scenes, drama, and of course an hea then this duet is for you.

*** 4.5 Stars ***

After reading Unhinged Desires, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Certifiable Attraction. I loved both of these books but I thought Unhinged Desires was slightly better. Some of Lucy's actions in this book got on my nerves and there were times I wanted to slap her and Dom in the face for all the stupid stuff they did. Still, I loved their relationship, and the sex scenes in this book were just as steamy as those in Unhinged Desire. All in all, this was a really good book and a great end to an amazing duet. I'll miss Dom and Lucy, but now I'm ready to move on to "The McKinley Ranch Duet" I'm really excited to read all about Uncle Josh and his pig farm!

Good ending to an unexpected cliffhanger

First, I just have to say how much Dom pissed me of at the beginning of this book because of how he treated Lucy after the accident. Now that I got that out of the way, I did love reading as Lucy tried to figure out her feelings and who Dom is- and thank goodness she did! This was an excellent wrap-up to the cliffhanger from the first book and thankfully it worked out for our MC’s. I wished there was more of a focus on the things that Dom did to protect Lucy and things had been elaborated upon more instead of just glanced over which I feel would have showcased even more just how far Dom would go for Lucy.
