My name is Vivienne Cabello.
Tiny.
Innocent.
Untouchable.
The daughter of a deadly and unforgiving king.

His name is Luca Mancini.
Scarred.
Brooding.
Dangerous.
A soulless assassin who makes my heart sing.

One stolen moment.
Two lies.
Three broken bones.
That’s all it takes for the monster to belong to me.

But our story is like no other.
I fight for him.
He fights for me.
And when all of the deception unfolds before our eyes,
Luca isn’t the only monster in the room.

Rounded down to a 3 star review.
A forbidden love story between the mafia king's daughter and his newly recruited prized hitman. This book is the first in a series and really just sets the scene, showing you how they meet and building up the tension. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series. There is great potential with this story and I hope the author executes it well in the rest of the books!

I didn't think Book One would turn out to be such a slowburn for me. I wasn't expecting the pacing to be so smooth that has somehow transitioned miraculously into my getting Book Two and Three for continuous read!

The plot is unfolding slowly, as well as the two MCs' relationship evolving without them having to jump each other's bones. Although in certain situations, you kind of want them to clash a bit more than usual.

Great read so far! Can't wait for the unravelling of The Cabello's secrets in the next two books.

Fire and Ice

He is cold, she looks like frost. Vivienne is a Mafia princess, disliked by her father. She wants to marry for love and passion not to cement an alliance. Luca is a killer with no plans to be in a relationship, let alone with the Don's daughter.
Wonderful, passionate writing, and sympathetic characters make this first story of a trilogy gripping.

Read as part of Heartless Hero’s Anthology. Vivienne and Luca burn for each other but cannot act on their attraction. The palpable attraction does not override the rules of the Cosa Nostra.
