From the bestselling author of What Was Meant to Be comes a brand new, age-gap bodyguard romance!
Shay Eastwood is the object of the world's fantasies. Occupying every magazine cover and television screen. And I have one job. Protect her with my life. It didn't matter that she occupied my every thought. There were too many reasons why she couldn't be mine: I'm too old for her, I'm all she has left. My only job is to keep her safe.
Amazon Top 15 Bestselling author and lover of forbidden romances, tacos, coffee, and wine, Q.B. Tyler gives readers sometimes angsty, sometimes emotional but always deliciously steamy romances featuring sassy heroines and the heroes that worship them. She's best known for writing forbidden (and sometimes taboo) romances, so if that's your thing, you've come to the right place. When she's not writing, you can usually find her on Instagram (definitely procrastinating), shopping or at brunch.
Leave it to QB to give me all of the forbidden, age gap, and spice I need! From the moment this book started, I was obsessed with Shay and Damien. Damien started guarding Shay when she was 18 and he was 30. There was obvioulsy chemistry, but Damien made it clear early on he wouldn't cross that line. Five years later, though, Shay's boyfriend of 3 years cheats on her and she's single. And not afraid to tell Damien how she feels. Their chemistry and tension was EVERYTHINGGGGG and I couldn't get enough. They had such a deep connection already and had all of this tension simmering, but they couldn't be public because she's such a public figure. There were so many moments I was frustrated for Shay and just wanted Damien to give into them already!! Seriously, their connection was so deep and strong because they had gone through so much and I loved Damien finally lowering his walls with her and trusting her to know more about him.
There's a bit of suspense in here with a potential stalker for Shay, which made Damien question how he can be professional while falling so hard for who he is supposed to be protecting. Their story had the perfect bodyguard elements to it and I just loved everything about this book. I also appreciated how mature their relationship was, especially with such a big age gap. There were never any petty fights and their reservations about being together were so real and believable. Absolutely grab this the moment it releases!!
Plsss I’m so upset bc I was actually wanting this book to be a new favourite but it just did not happen. I’d find myself skimming even the scenes with the main characters interacting and there was sm unnecessary inner monologue it bored me to tears.
I don’t think this author is for me bc I’ve tried another of QB’s books before and i didn’t vibe w it either… *sigh*
Damian Hunt, bodyguard to Hollywood starlet, Shay Eastwood, takes his job seriously to the point of obsession.
Although they had obviously been physically attracted to one another for years, their emotional connection was even sexier. Damian was so attuned to Shay, her feelings, and needs. I absolutely loved them together and the way their love evolved. KHS is perfectly balanced with plot and steam, and characters you’ll love.

look at those tropes! how did i NOT enjoy this? i love Q.B Tyler so much, her books Unconditonal and What Was Meant to Be are some of my favs of all time. but this? this was not it. this didn't feel like a Q.B Tyler book, it felt like a wattpad story and not in a good way. the first 30% bored me to no end. it finally started to pick up a little bit but then there was too much sex. everything happened so fast once her stupid boyfriend was kinda out of the picture. i know both had unsaid feelings for each other for years, but where is the relationship development? where is the build up? nowhere to be found. how can i say there is too much sex already when its only been 41%?? i am baffled. they were pretty much together as a couple already before even half the book.
what a huge disappointment. i was counting down the days when Q.B first announced this. 💔
A new QB daddy has entered the chat and serving TOUCH HER AND ILL KILL YOU ENERGY👏👅
This was just as hot as I expected it to be but with some surprising twists here and there and a stalker plot that I always go feral for. The way Damian would do *anything* to keep Shay safe…shut up it was amazing. Another absolute banger💅
Once again, QB Tyler has given us a steamy forbidden romance, except this time it’s between a celebrity and her bodyguard!
Damian has been Shay’s bodyguard for the past couple of years, but they’ve wanted each other from the moment that they met. Now that Shay has discovered her boyfriend has been cheating on her, she knows that this is her one chance to finally be with Damian the way she’s been wanting to for so long – and they were FIRE together. I know that whenever I’m in the mood for something hot and angsty, I can count on QB to deliver exactly what I’m craving! I loved Shay and Damian’s chemistry, and I loved how these two have been longing for each other for years.
Add in some great suspense and twists, Keep Her Safe was a fun read from beginning to end. Damian had me swooning! He’s so alpha and protective and possessive over Shay… my favorite kind of hero. If you love QB Tyler, you won’t want to miss this new romance from her!

I just knew this book would be amazing. Q.B. Tyler just knows how to write lighthearted stories and smut *fanning myself*
From the start, Shay and Damian were totally giving Bridget and Rhys from Twisted Games, which is one of my favorite books, enough to say I was hooked. On top of the age gap and bodyguard romance, we had sprinkles of daddy kink (as per usual).
I absolutely love how Shay doesn't take any shit. She isn't that whiny, spoiled celebrity. She's down-to-earth and strong-minded. Many times when something came up, I thought she would just put up with it or let herself be manipulated. But she proved me wrong every time.
And Damian? I'm still waiting for the day Q.B. will write a bad MMC I hope that never happens. He's definitely over-the-top protective, but it didn't bother me by any means. Sometimes overbearing MMCs can get on my nerves, but that was definitely not the case with Damian. And we love a pussy eating king.
Another thing I liked a lot about this book is that her manager wasn't the bad guy for a change. Cooper is actually pretty amazing.
I fucking love her epilogues, and this one was no different. It just hit right and has me with heart in my eyes.
Idk if it’s a me thing or what. I just can’t find a connection to either character. I don’t find the forbidden parts very alluring. I think she needs to go back and limit how many times she’s written the word ‘towards.’ I should’ve kept count because it’s insane.
I might go back later but I’m not sure if I want to.
2.5⭐️!! straight pörn, barely any plot. It was fun but did get boring after a while. Also the heroine was a little insufferable and the plot twist was obvious and no one believed anyone when they warned them. But still fun nonetheless.
"I'll never let anyone get to you, you know that right? I'll do whatever it takes to keep you safe."
Recommend this book if you like/are looking for:
• A story VERY similar to the 1992 film The Bodyguard, but with WAY more steam and a different ending • Are looking for a celebrity romance - the heroine is an actress • Like an EXTREMELY possessive, alpha hero • Are okay with more steam and less suspense
This was a fun ride! I'd read one other title by this author before, but I thought Keep Her Safe was a stronger book overall.
I loved the their connection, as Damian has already been Shay's bodyguard for five years when the story begins. He's been there for her for some of the hardest parts of her life. All that was missing was for them to cross the line romantically.
I enjoyed the suspense part too but thought it could've been better developed. But I'm a suspense junkie!
What to Expect: • Age Gap • Bodyguard Romance • Forbidden • Spicy • Workplace • Celebrity • Jealous/Possessive • Stalker
“I love you.” I feel his words in my heart and it begins to accelerate as excitement courses through me hearing those words fall from his lips. “Is that what you want to hear?” A smile finds my lips as he leans down and drags his mouth slowly across mine. “That I am so in love with you that it consumes me?” He presses his body against mine, lowering himself to press his knee between my legs and against my mound. “That you consume me?”
QB Tyler.... Miss ma'am *sigh*
The way i was waiting for this book with my whole ass spread. -_-
PLOT: Shay is a big actress and Damien is her big old bodyguard who loved her from the start and vice versa and he keeps her safe and he saves her from her crazy "stalker" And he saves her from the dangers of the weirdo And he saves her And he saves her from god And he saves her from goddamn everyone
Yes, I’m attracted to him and I’d purposefully put on my tiniest bikini and strutted around him like I was presenting food to a starving man. Yes, I’ve always had a tiny crush on him that’s never gone away.
Shay:
She's so lame 😭 See.... I cannot form any opinion about her because she wasn't all that. She loved him and she came on too strong The only thing i could tolerate about her was the fact that she was the reassuring type.
Damien:
Big block of sex who liked to keep her safe. Also was okay in communication.
The book wasn't bad per say but it was. For a book being sold as forbidden, they fucked before you could blink. I couldn't even see forbidden because they were just being together in all time I've known. And i didn't like how they admitted that they loved each other, Because AGAIN it felt like it didn't build up at all. The book really stayed on a single wavelength from start to finish with no turns or upcourses. The "big twist"???? A blind man could've seen it from a mile.
I'm so sorry but oh my god i didn't like it at all. It was everything that i didn't expect it would be, in not a good way.
ALSO
The INSANE amount of sex??? NOT NEEDED. UNNECESSARY. THEY ARE MEANT TO BE FORBIDDEN SO KEEP IT FORBIDDEN
“Do you prefer daddy?” I bite my bottom lip and his blue eyes darken giving me my answer. “Oh, daddy it is then,” I say, raising an eyebrow at him seductively.
DO NOT use the word daddy if the book doesn't need it just for the sake of making it kinky. This book did not need the usage of the word daddy and that is coming from the whore herself. It threw me the fuck off when she said daddy because why would she say it.
“I—I think I’m ready,” I tell him. “Your fingers can only prepare me for your dick so much.” I turn around and meet his eyes. “Nothing feels like your cock.”
Please. Please. Please. Can we stop talking THIS much in smut scenes??? They talked more than they fucked and it wasn't a good dirty talk.
To be honest, this one is such a disappointment. There is only one specific reason why I didn't give it 2 stars or lower because.... I AM FUCKING BAISED to the author, so yes....it's 3 stars for you, Q.B. Tyler.
Usually (in another book written by her) there is still a plot inside the story, but I guess not with this one. This book has no plot, only PURE SEX. And a lot of "DICK" words. (OH LORD SAVE ME) I don't recall reading any book before this that had a lot of "DICK" words inside it.
*Sigh*
I get why some people DNF'd it at 1/3 book, because I almost did the same thing. The sex took place too early, like 35% of the book. And this book is my fifth book that i read from Ms. Tyler, but my conclusion remain the same:
"Our heroine is always the one who chases the hero, and our hero is always put in a tight place where it needs the heroine to declare first that I want you, then let's do it.."
“And now is the time to do that for the first time? You think now, while the driver is waiting outside to take you to a party, is the time for me to put my lips on yours for the first time? While I have to be careful about your lipstick and your makeup and can’t slide my tongue between your lips? What, you’re expecting a nice, simple, and polite kiss on the lips? You don’t think I’ll want to rip this dress off? You really think the first time we kiss should be…now?”
Soooo yeah...I have a new man to obsess over, Damien mfing Hunt. Everytime I read a QB Tyler book, I know exactly what I'm getting. Possessive Hero? Check. Jealousy scenes? Check. Spicy and Kinky scenes? Check. I'm never disappointed.
Keep Her Safe is about an actress and her over protective bodyguard who will make you swoon over how soft and protective he is of her. I could cry over how much I enjoyed reading this book. If you're in a book slump, trust me when I say that this will get you out of it :))
I was looking forward to this soapy celebrity/bodyguard romance, but for some reason I just couldn’t get into it. Maybe I wasn’t in the right mood, maybe there was too much sex. (Also — every time I write “too much sex” in a review, I kind of side-eye myself, but here we are.)
4.5⭐️ Q.B. Tyler really out Q.B. Tylering herself with this one WOW 🫠🫠🫠🫠 she wasn’t kidding when she said this is one of her spiciest books. I was sweating EVERYWHERE 🥵 Damian and Shay are a match made in heaven with a Hollywood and her bodyguard who from the moment they meet they can’t deny their electric attraction. The bodyguard trope is going to hit every single time for me.
This was fun, entertaining, had some twist and turns and just sexy as hell. I LOVE!!! A perfect quick and spicy forbidden time ❤️
***thank you QB & the author agency for the ARC copy
Oh my gosh THIS BOOK HAD ME ON THE EDGE OF MY FUCKING SEAT!!??? I freaking loved Damian. I think he might just be one of my favorite QB men yet!!! The possiveness + dirty af mouth + willingness to kick anyone’s ass who fcks with his girl was the perfection combination we all need/want in a (fictional) Man!!!!
I didn’t know I needed a suspenseful bodyguard romance until I read this book. AND GODDAMN WAS IT SO DAMN HOT. I was sweating all over. Honestly I still am when I’m remembering the scenes 😛🥵🥰💥 the tension between Damian & Shay was next level & I felt it dripping off the pages. They had a bond that I love to see in books ESPECIALLY when you know a man is head over heels AHHH!
I love QB so damn much & this just makes me love her THAT MUCH MORE. But if I don’t get an ex-boyfriends dad romance I will cry. OR AT LEAST more suspense novels bc I ate that ish UP.
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Tropes: •bodyguard x celebrity •forbidden •age gap •close proximity •SUSPENSE!?!? •interracial couple •man who loves 🐱
While the book started being good and entertaining, it ultimately felt flat. i really like both main characters and the beginning of the romance was promising. but as soon as the romance picks up, the whole focus of the book was on smut. While i enjoy smut in books as much as probably everyone, this was way too much (probably one long smut scene in every chapter). The plot twist at the end was boring and unnecessary. It's sad that I didn't enjoy the book as much as I thought I would because it had so much potential. overall, the book was just disappointing. if you’re looking for a smutty romance that will entertain you for a one sitting, you’ll probably like it tho!
4.5 Stars! QB has made me fall in love with another MMC. I loved Damien so MUCH!! QB Tyler really knows how to write a forbidden romance with high stakes. Shay being in the spotlight most of her life has made her a target. But Damien has always been there to protect her... keep her safe.
Keep Her Safe is a new contemporary romance from QB Tyler and I’ve had such a good time with this author’s books so I was so excited to dive into her new release early!
The story starts with Shay catching her boyfriend of 3 years, a fellow actor, cheating on her. Because she’s a former child actor turned “America’s Sweetheart”, she knows eyes are on her at all times and she is desperately trying to appear unfazed in front of the crowd and cameras. Shay knows she can rely on Damian, her bodyguard and friend, to get her out of there without causing a scene. We then get to see more of Shay and Damian’s relationship, he’s been working for her for 5 years and they’ve both have had feelings for one another!
“I pride myself on keeping it together. Not losing control and yet…all I want to do is lose myself in you.”—Damian
We get flashbacks to 5 years earlier when her parents pushed for her to hire a bodyguard once she turned 18. This is an age gap and their romance isn’t until present day when she’s 23, he’s 35 and has been working for her for 5 years. If you love a protective, possessive hero, you will love Damian! Shay’s safety is his number one priority and I just loved all the close proximity time with them since they’re around one another allllll the time. There is some drama with her ex and a stalker situation as well (which I saw early on who it was and how it would play out, but it’s fine lol). If you love the bodyguard romance trope and want it super steamy, definitely pick this one up!
Thanks so much to the author for an ARC, all thoughts in this review are my own.
“I pride myself on keeping it together. Not losing control and yet… all I want to do it lose myself in you.”
“I’m a red-blooded man, Shay, and even the most disciplined man has his limits.”
Oh my god. This book was everything! I absolutely love a good bodyguard x forbidden romance. This book had me kicking and screaming multiple times. The tension, chemistry, banter, and spice between Shay and Damien were perfection.
Shay is an actress, who just discovered her boyfriend of 3 years has been cheating on her. She begins to develop a crush on her bodyguard and tries pursuing a relationship with Damien who she has always been there for her. Damien has been Shay’s bodyguard for about 5 years. He also has developed some feelings for Shay, but he has kept his feelings to himself, not wanting to cross any boundaries and trying to be professional. I love seeing how possessive Damien is and how he is there to support and reassure Shay that he will always be there to protect her. The mutual attraction between these two were just so hot.
Also, four words. The freaking limo scene. 🤭🔥
My first ever book I’ve read by QB Tyler and it definitely won’t be my last. I love this book so much, highly recommend!
Tropes: ❥ Bodyguard x actress ❥ Age gap ❥ Forbidden romance ❥ Interracial romance ❥ Hero obsessed with her & her safety
If you are a reader who has never read QB Tyler, this is the perfect book for you to get an introduction into her style of writing, as well as her spice. QB is known for her taboo romances, which in my opinion are top-tier, but this one while not being taboo, still offered elements of age gap for and forbidden romance.
We have a celebrity and her bodyguard. The tension between them was so freaking good! Damien, our gorgeous MMC is literally a perfect man. If you love, boy obsessed and possessive, you have to read this book now!
Eh I guess it didn't work for me. I skimmed after I hit the 50% mark. There was nothing much going on, aside from smut and her stalker. Won't rate it because I even got bored with my skimming. 🤷♀️
As a huge fan of the Bodyguard starring Whitney Houston, this made my dreams come true. QB Tyler is one of my favorite taboo and interracial romance writers and she never fails to make me want more. Left me on the edge of my seat with every page, the smut was scalding hot and their banter was amazing! 4 stars because I saw the suspense/ unsub from a mile away and the insta love aspect (although it was years in the making) Nonetheless, the MC’s… adorable!
tropes: bodyguard romance, touch her and you die, he falls harder, age gap, HEA ending 💕
