He's organized and controlled. She's wild and uninhibited. They shouldn't go together, but they can't fight fate.
COLE : Being the alpha of the largest shifter pack in the state isn’t easy or glamorous. It takes quick decisions and a level head, and sometimes I have to make ruthless choices for the greater good. It’s a constant balancing act, only achieved with the highest level of organization- every aspect of my life is carefully curated and planned, down to the last detail. Some say I’m cold. Detached. Controlling. But we’d descend into chaos if I didn’t rule with an iron fist, so I do, and my pack falls in line. Little did I know, all it’d take is one girl to upend my life into chaos. One girl who won’t bow to me and fall in line with the rest. Juliet is too young, too wild and stubborn. She’s the one I want but can never have.
JULIET : All my life, I’ve played a part. The daughter of our pack’s former alpha; the sister of its current alpha. The darling of the Westfield pack. The smart girl. The good girl. The pretty girl. Everyone in my life seems to want me to fit a certain mold and behave a certain way, but I just want to be free. That’s why I jumped at the chance to get away from home for the first time. Enrolling at the University in Denver is my golden ticket out of my small town; my first real shot at freedom. It’s my chance to let loose and have fun for once away from the watchful eyes of my father and brother, and it’s one I’m not going to waste. I’m going to flirt with all the boys. Dance the night away. And the Denver Alpha? Now that I’ve set my sights on him, he doesn’t stand a chance.
*****
THE DENVER ALPHA is a full length paranormal (werewolf) romance novel. While it is connected to the six-pack universe, it is a standalone novel. This is a slow burn with tropes age gap, dom/brat, grumpy/sunshine, and some light voyeurism. The story ends with a HEA and no cliffhangers.
*This book contains mature themes and language that may not be suitable for all readers. If steamy scenes and frequent f-bombs offend, this is not the book for you*

2.5 // The other books that are a part of this world (Six Pack series, Broken Bond) are great but this one didn’t work for me. This book should be re-titled “Jumps to Conclusions” because there’s so much of it in this book.
The author does a great job of writing an immature character, the FMC, tasting independence for the first time. I could see the author trying to communicate the frustration of a ten year age gap between a 19 yr old who’s a bit on the wild side and a 29 yr old who functions on a rigid control of himself and others. But all too often the immature FMC gets blamed for the MMC’s reactions to her. Regardless of whether or not she goads him, the only person responsible for his behavior is him. A person’s self control is never someone else’s responsibility and I hate that there’s so much “you push my self control over the edge” in this book.
As the daughter and brother to pack alphas, the FMC wants so badly to assert herself and be seen as an adult and not as someone who needs to be protected. I love that she doesn’t want to bow to the authority of men but she also must learn when it’s appropriate to assert herself and when it isn’t. A favorite moment is her brother telling her part of wanting to be seen and treated as an adult is to behave like one.
Conversely, the MMC has to learn his communication style where she is concerned is lacking and that, while she is young, she IS the daughter/sister of alphas and understands much more than he gives her credit for. He sees her as a protected princess which is the opposite of what she wants to be.
Specific things I did not like:
1. Hair + eye color hierarchy: “bottle blonde” hair, “mud brown” eyes. You can write a character having physical preferences without shaming those who have the opposite.
2. The punishment kink aspect of their relationship feels extremely forced. She’s very sexually inexperienced but the kink is immediate. It would have been more interesting to introduce and build the desire for it over time.
3. She confronts him about his “hook up rotation” then sits on his lap when he beckons her. Like a puppy. The flip flop between self respect and pick me is annoying.
He is controlled, calculated and always thinks things through. She is wild, sassy and free spirited. Together they are amazing. I loved this book. Its a definite favorite and I love to re read all the time.
Recap: Denver pack leader, Cole, is allowing one of their allies from the Six-Pack leader-Jax, sister-Juliet, to stay in their pack while she attends Denver U Med program. It was the only way she could get her parents (former alpha and luna) and her brother (current alpha) to go away to school so she can get some freedom and learn who she really is. She loves her home but she wants to not always have to out on an act as alphas daughter pressure. Instantly they have an attraction but he says no way bc of who her brother is. She’s so over it so she just keeps up her stubborn and carefree, it drives Cole crazy. Juliet is 10 years younger than him but when he’s around her he wants to strangle her and fuck her all at once. He’s all by the book and she likes to break the rules, battle to the end. A former hook up, Tayla, constantly tries to ruffle things up and cause miscommunications. She is set up twice and always made to look like a screw up when she actually understands what he is going through and dealing with as an alpha more than anyone. After he loses his cool she is ready to leave, when they find out they are true fated mates, he knows he can’t let her go. He proves they are meant to be. In order to save the businesses she helps set up a corrupt liquor guy, after threatening them, but he attacks her and they are forced to kill him, he isn’t missed. As she is being insulted he finally witnesses Tayla’s disgusting behavior and she is done. To show Juliet is better even more, allows her to go to the so. Pack since she can’t get over the Alpha. They finally claim one another and Juliet becomes Luna of the pack, loved by all. They have 2 boys and live HEA. All the packs in the alliance are having kiddos and they continue to protect each other, they are family.

I truly hope there is more to come from this author. This series with companion books got me out of a pretty bad reading slump - I think I was in the middle of reading 25 books that I had from the previous “stuff your kindle day”.
I cannot even remember how I stumbled upon this series — most of my recs seem to come from TIKTOK lately, but this is a series I need to order for my physical bookshelves — it’s that good! Now, have to see if I found this book because of the most recent stuff your kindle day, since the companion book was the first book I read.
I don’t “do” spoilers…just know they are all M/F (alpha MMC and strong AF FMC - my FAVE!), Standalones but should be read in order of the series. Wolf Shifter Romances are always so hit or miss with me…this was a hit from book 1! The series is completed with 6 books and there are two full length companion books to the series that are seriously EVEN BETTER! Alpha Denver is by far my fave in this series…but that could just show how far this author has progressed in their art since this is the most recent book.
The spice is ✨👩🍳💋✨ - the author hits on ALL of the best of the best tropes in each book.
2023 has got to be my luckiest reading year in the last 5 years - this is the year I’ve stumbled across some amazing new-to-me authors who simply have hit it out of the park with their writing.
So, this is the first of Cj's books since Alpha Gray that I did not read chapter by chapter. It was such a struggle to not do it, but I held out and waited. On the upside, I didn't have to endure the struggle that is hell week, but it didn't stop all of the emotions. Instead, I flew through this book in hours, unable to put it down. I've been looking forward to Cole's story since our first trip to Denver and I'm so glad that time has finally come. The Denver Alpha was everything I wanted to be. Oh my word, Alpha Cole can assert his dominance anytime he wants🥵🥵🥵. I absolutely loved the chemistry that existed from the very beginning between Cole and Juliet. I was hoping she would get her own story and this was absolutely perfect. The characters are wonderful! (With visits from old friends ❤️) The story is compelling!🔥 The spice is 🥵🔥. CJ, you did it again and I can't wait for your next story 😀
Just finished reading Denver Alpha and I really enjoyed it. It was such a hot read with plenty of steamy scenes to keep you satisfied. I really love how romantic Cole was with Juliet, especially towards the end inspite of him always being so uptight and a control freak. I couldn't help but laugh everytime Juliet called him by his nickname. "Sarge", lol .... They make a great couple. It would be awesome if C.J. continued the six pack series with their children, a long with Cal & Nessa's child. I really wanted to read Sebastian's story since he's Vee & Chase's son and it was one of my favorites 😭😭😭 but unfortunately it's a threesome (not fair) and I'm not into that kind of thing. I only totally love romantic sexy & hot hea m/f stories. Now onto the next book ( waggling eyebrows lol )
He is order, structure, and routine. She is chaos, headstrong, and wild. They are complete opposites in every way, and they fight every chance they get. But you can’t outrun fate, no matter how hard you fight the chemistry and connection. • • Juliet and Cole were all sparks from the start. Their tension and banter was leaping off the page. Juliet was a such a fire cracker! She was so fun to read, and it was fun to watch her push ALL of Cole’s buttons literally any chance she got. And let’s be real. It was just as fun to see Cole dole out fun punishments! • •
CJ is an author I have been following for years, and she never misses. I am honestly feeling a little emotional at the end of this series! Here’s to the next gen series coming next!! 🫶🏼
CJ Primer outdid herself once again. This story was the perfect way to tie the entire Six Pack Series together. I thoroughly enjoyed hearing from the "old" Alphas and their wives as Juliet comes of age. When the series started, she was simply Jax's little sister. She blossoms into a kick ass heroine, Luna, mother & soon to be doctor, all the while turning the hardworking stick in the mud Alpha Cole into an even better version of himself. At the end, Ms. Primer brings together all the Six Pack Alphas and their families. A fabulous way to bring closure to the lives and loves of CJ Primer's series, The Six Pack Alphas!
Denver Alpha was the perfect book to say goodbye to this generation and get ready for the next. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the fact that is another perspective of their world as the Denver pack isn't in the six pack territory and mixes in with the real world as well. Jules and Cole are absolute fire together, the chemistry between them is sizzling. Jules is an amazing character, strong, feisty and bold. Cole is straight laced, firm and dominant. Together they create quite the story that's a wild ride.
Loved this book. Juliet is the sassy female lead and Cole is the serious and strict alpha. When these two meet there is tension and electricity. They are drawn to each and feelings explode when they finally give in.
There isnt much of a background storyline like in the other books as this focuses on Jules and Coles new found attraction. There is humour and lots of spice. Plus cameo' s from Jax and Quinn and the other six pack alphas and lunas.
Great spin off story and a must read if you have read the others.
The final of the 6 pack/companion series and once again CJ's work is flawless! The denver alpha is an emotional roller-coaster, age gap shifter romance where the pack & alpha are more integrated with non shifters and delves into the troubles this can bring... Both leads quickly jump to conclusions (which can be frustrating) and need to work on their communication but the resulting fireworks are hot!
I have read the whole series and love the characters. Can’t wait to see what happens in the next series. I am so glad to have found C. J. and her books.
Cole and Juliet - what a story! Loved the Denver Alpha and what a finale to a series that I loved. Jax’s little sister and Astrid’s big brother are a feisty combination battling for control and their story is engaging and spicy. Looking forward to what CJ Primer does next….
I don’t really read shifter books, but this one was good. Strong heroine and obviously an alpha hero. I’m always a little skeptical about how no one knows they’re shifters, but I guess if you can suspend reality, it’s all good! :)
The goods, the bads, the shocking, the suprises. The characters are mixed. I wish some issues weren’t solved so easily or quickly but over all it’s an addictive book!
This book expands the 6-pack universe created by the author in such a fun way! I love the way that the story is told from the perspectives of the two main characters. A great binge read!
I absolutely loved this book! Again I was invested and well and truly hooked after the first chapter. I loved the characters, the plot, how there were references to characters in the previous book and couldn’t wait to get my hands on the next book in the series. Go on have a go! 💖
The chemistry and the tension between Cole and Juliet were extremely hot! This was definitely a fun ride, and the ending was perfect. Loved getting a peek at the next generation. Excellent work!
Juliet has lived the part of the darling of the Westfield pack. As the sister of the current Alpha, she was expected to be the smart, good, and pretty girl. As soon as the opportunity presents itself to leave, she jumps at the opportunity. Enrolling into University at the Denver Pack. That's where she sets her eyes on the Alpha, Cole.
Cole runs the largest pack in the States and has to make ruthless choices for the greater good. Everything in Coles's life is carefully thought out and organized. Cole thrives on CONTROL. So when Juliet sets her sights on Cole. She bulldozes straight through his life and upends Coles' life into chaos.
Juliet is too young, too wild and stubborn. She’s the one Cole wants but can never have.
He's organized and controlled. She's wild and uninhibited. They shouldn't go together, but they can't fight fate.
This book will not disappoint you. The tension was high between Cole and Jules. Jules and her wild ways really challenged Cole and his domineering ways. The banter perfection. Seeing them come together was wild. Cole's DOM side was 🫦
“Always challenging me, always pushing back,” Cole continues to rasp, his lips tickling the shell of my ear. “Never just falling in line and doing what you’re told.”
🖤 fated mates 🖤 wolf shifters 🖤 age gap 🖤 dom/brat 🖤 forced proximity 🖤 forbidden 🖤 badass fmc 🖤 lots of spice
