Dark World Universe #18-21

The Dragon Twins: The Complete Series

Rate this book
Get ready to be transported to a world of magic and adventure, where danger lurks around every corner and love is more powerful than any spell.

According to legend, twin sisters Gemma and Mira are descended from witches. But they’ve never been able to use magic.

On their seventeenth birthday, everything changes. They’re gifted with power over the elements, and right after receiving their magic, they’re tracked down and attacked by an ancient monster. They would have died, if not for Mira’s boyfriend Ethan showing up to save the day.

It turns out that Ethan has magic, too. He’s a dragon shifter from a dark realm, and he’s sworn to protect the twins from whoever’s hunting them down.

With monsters relentlessly chasing them, the three of them go on the run, pausing only to sleep—and to allow Ethan to teach them how to master their magic. But since they’re stuck together, Gemma has to try harder than ever to keep her deepest secret from her twin—she’s been in love with Mira’s boyfriend for months. Sometimes, she swears Ethan feels the same.

But Gemma’s feelings for Ethan should be the last thing on her mind, because whoever’s hunting them has dark magic so impossibly strong that even the most powerful supernaturals are running scared. With nowhere left to hide and time running out, the twins race to discover the truth behind their heritage so they can fight back—even if that means committing the ultimate act of betrayal: of each other.

Will their bond as twins be enough to overcome the obstacles that stand in their way? Or will their own desires tear them apart forever?

The Dragon Twins is a must-read for fans of young adult fantasy who crave action, suspense, forbidden romance, and twists you'll never see coming.

Not a fan. Honestly, the sisters in this book are horrible. Both of them. I couldn’t finish the whole series because it was so messed up, but I read the first book, started the second, and I just could not go on. Immature writing, semi decent story, a book for teenagers that are obsessed with boys and willing to stab their best friend in the back for one. If the main character was a mature as she pretends to be, and the adults acted like mature adults instead of fellow teenagers, the story would have had potential. The main love interest has no spine either, which, in my mind automatically makes him a zero-interest person and kills anything in me that ever wanted the main character and him to end up together.

Dragons

Adult content, reader discretion advised. Gemma and Mira were ordinary twins despite being raised to believe they are special. School exams, boy troubles and finding time for their favorite activities between jobs and other obligations. Then they turn seventeen. Their mother held a ceremony and bodda-bing, bodda-boom they are witches with enormous destinies. Still boy troubles, yet now the have sword training, magic lessons and studying for their quests while hiding from a faction that wants them dead. Lots of blood at parts. Not a lot of gore and a few adult scenes. Nothing graphic though.

Love triangle..ugh.

While I am not a fan of the love triangle, this story is far from typical and really well-executed. This is a new spin on the paranormal and the 4th set of stories with the Queens. I came across this one without having read the first three Queen stories and I have to say I did not feel the lack. This was darker and more intense than I usually care for so I doubt I'll go back and read the priors, since this portion of the story easily feels complete without them.

To say I could not put these books down is an understatement! In this epic conclusion to the Dark World- not only are we once again shifted to another place on earth (or not) another journey begins for the last part of the saga. Watching every single piece come together from the first arc was absolutely amazing! I am so happy I went through this series blind without knowing anything but the basic plot because this is hands down one of my favorite series! All of these arcs are filled with action, adventure, fantasy, some Romantasy, and sprinkle of treachery!

Overall it felt like a teenager wrote this book. The amount of secondary characters in this book is ridiculous and gets fast confusing. Ethan is one of the main characters and all he does is saying « I’m here to keep you safe » through the book . I wish we could get to know better the main heroes than having a billion of secondary ones that are not necessary to the story (the mom of the twins for example). Also 1/4 of the book is repeating the same information over and over again.

Gemma, Mira, and Ethan’s love triangle annoyed me at the beginning, but things started to unfold deeper into the series which made it much more enjoyable.

I LOVED the last book!!! It was full of adventure, time travel, and I really enjoyed reading other characters perspective. Was really happy for Mira that she accepted the truth and moved on :)

Dragon Twins

WOW, this was a fascinating, enthralling read. Storylines are very different, a few sections i reread. Complex plots, time frames and supernatural of many varieties. Good versus evil. Pleased to know good mostly wins. Worthwhile read, the books flow from one into the next. Thank you for the journey Michelle.

Happy

I had to go back to the Fairies because I thought I misread that but it was left out about Serena purposefully for suspense. I got it once this story unfolded. I loved the ending. Can't wait to read on.

Good young adult read

I have to admit I gotta little confused a couple of times. The characters have wit and sarcasm like most teenagers. They use their adaptability to solve many issues in the realms.

Just finished this series and as usual for the author it was great. I have read all the other books Michael except for the stand alone. But that's next. Keep up the great work.
