It takes a strong man to share the love of his life...
One night of kinky bliss at Black Light leads Evander Ledston to the woman of his dreams. He has everything he's ever a job that satisfies, a bank account that doesn't complain, and now, a sweet and wonderfully submissive woman who doesn't know the power she holds over him.
Embarking on a new venture with Callie by his side should be exciting, but one thing he already knows about her is that change isn't something she easily accepts, and being with him...well, it's a huge shock to the system.
Throw in his strict, incredibly British friend, and that shock can only get bigger.
Callie's life has been anything but simple. Raised by a fiercely religious father, abused by her previous Dominant boyfriend, she struggles to trust those around her. Despite her enlightening evening at a prestigious BDSM club, everything is different when daylight comes around. The part of herself she tries to hide is waking up more and more, and although Evander knows about it, it's another matter entirely to be brave enough to let it out fully. It becomes harder when her emotions are torn between her blond lover and his major-domo-slash-best friend.
Lesson In Trust is the first book in a new BDSM series, interconnected with Club Avalon. This is a Daddy Dom/menage romance and may contain scenes unsuitable for some readers.
Sensational start to this new branch of yummy stories in Club Serenity ❤️ Evander and Callie continue their wonderful journey after the Roulette spin that paired them together. Callie breaks my heart as she struggles with her past and all the terrible things that were done to her. She calls on her little in times of stress and overwhelm, falling back on her basic instincts and coping mechanisms. But I feared for her when she came toe to toe with Atticus 😮 Evander has the patience and desire to help Callie through her episodes. Enter Elias, Evander’s competent and faithful right hand man, and we get a very blissful and tantalizing ménage of compassion, care, and sensuality that is off the charts 🥵 Kay Elle Parker this series is going to be epic and I am so excited for what’s to come!!
Their story started in "Black Light Roullette Finale" with the story "Faith", and it was a great introduction. She is such a fragile, innocent girl, needing stability, love and support and her Doms really are there for her to put her trust in.
Kay Elle Parker has started a new series. When I first heard about Club Serenity, I had a feeling that it was going to be incredible. I just finished reading the first book in this series, Lesson In Trust. I've been a fan of Kay's for over a year now, and I still find myself truly amazed at how well Kay can write. Evander, Callie, and Elias' story is one of the best written stories I've read this year! I laughed, I cried, and I even screamed. This book has the ability to make you feel every emotion you've ever had! I encourage everyone to go and get a copy of Lesson In Trust RIGHT NOW!!!!!! Fantastic start to another series, Kay!!! Way to go!!!!!
This book was just plain incredible, and I can't wait to read more of this new series. The razor-sharp blend of raw emotion and scorching heat cuts deeply as it sends your temperature soaring. My heart ached so badly for Callie and Evander and Elias were sinfully swoon worthy. All together they gave my emotions a workout, inspired plenty of feels, made me squirmy and melted my heart into sappy goo. I am posting unbiased, unsolicited review.
This story starts with Evander taking Callie home with him, following them being paired up at a roulette event in Black Light, a BDSM club. These two had formed such a strong instant connection neither wanted to part ways and when Evanders right hand man, Elias, gets introduced its not long before the two men both becomes utterly besotted with her and would do anything to help her feel loved and safe and heal from the horrors of her past.
I had a great time with this and can't wait to see where this new series goes!!
It's always exciting to get a book from a author you respect and admire. I know when I pick up a book by Kay Elle Parker, it's going to be fast paced, pretty much at it free, characters are going to be great and believable, the plot is going to be riveting, and it's going to be a damn good read. Now I can't wait for the next one.
This book started with Callie and Evander in the Black Light Roulette series but also has ties to Avalon. Let me say, you don't HAVE to read those books, but why wouldn't you. They're great. When Evander introduces Callie to a possible ménage relationship with Elias - Mind Blown! These three are great together. The way these two MMCs just slipped into a Daddy Dom role with the emphasis on BOTH Daddy and Dom just tugged my heart strings. Holy Heck Batman, not only did I devour every word, every stroke, every kiss, every touch, I had to go back and re-read them again. This story blew me away. And the ending. I don't know if I can wait to find out what happens next. Yum, yum, yum!
I have a real problem with the way 'crimes' and punishments are set up in this and the Avalon series. I understand in the dom/sub dynamic, if a dom lays down her/his expectations and a sub goes against them, there is a punishment for that.
But too often in this and the Avalon series the doms punish for things that have not be laid down as expectations to the sub and/or go against the sub's usually-ingrained-thru-abuse honest responses.
To me, that's not just unfair and abusive, it is violating the 'trust, honesty, communication' ideal they keep peddling because how can a person trust someone who punishes for things they don't know are considered wrong and and be honest about their issues if they fear being punished for it?
And all of that makes it awful to read.
I really enjoyed 'Cry for Me' and 'Walk for Me' by this author despite this flaw because it was tempered by the respect and consideration the male leads gave the female leads but every other story I have read by her (six in total now) has lacked that same balance and too often the male leads slide into into downright cruel territory (ie Braun using his friends to trap Bodie at the club). And giving the female lead a bunch of orgasms does not negate that, it just layers another unhealthy sexual association on.
Specific to this particular story, pushing a sub's hard limits without serious discussion, an honest reveal of what the scene would entail and the person's informed verbal consent beforehand... that's a hard no and a direct violation of 'trust, honesty, communication' AND 'safe, sane and consensual'. And continuing the scene after the safe word is given is a direct violation of trust and consent. Doing it again and again was exploiting the subs vulnerable position in order to abuse them.
There was no reason they could not have waited and introduced her to both implements separately in a safe, non-sexual environment first. Their choice to go about it the way they did made it clear they cared nothing about her health and safety, and therefore her, only their ability to exploit her fears and issues to extend their control and sate their egos.
And all of that crossed a serious line so I am giving up on this author.
Kay Elle Parker kicks off the Club Serenity series with this DDLG / BDSM romance that focuses on trust! I laughed and cried my way through this book. Evander and Elias are the Yin and Yang of Daddies and they know how to give a wounded little the love, structure, and discipline she needs. I really can't say enough about this story. A famous coach once said "to live fully one should laugh, think, and be brought to tears every day." This book did all of these things. I look forward to subsequent stories and the opportunity to read and follow-up on Evander, Elias, and Callie.
So I'm going to be honest here.. This is the first book I have ever read by Kay Elle Parker where I just wasn't connecting with Callie.. The FMC in this book. Not really sure why. I liked her well enough. She is sweet, shy, and insecure. But I just wasn't connecting with her... Until she broke me... That scene man.. Where she wakes up at Daddy Atticus house.. Man it ripped my heart to shreds. I cried so many tears. I cried like a baby and my heart just broke for her. I love me some Daddy Atticus... but I wanted to beat him to a pulp for triggering her like that. Even if he had no idea at the time that it would be that bad. I know this had to be done. This is a story about a woman whose trust in people is so badly broken and she needs to learn that she can trust those around her now. That she has men that will fight, and protect her from everything and everyone... But I think it's gonna take some time for me to forgive Atticus with that one.
Evander and Eli... man those two just melt my heart. I love how they take care of Callie. For neither one being a daddy before meeting her.. they just fall into it naturally with her. Wanting to protect and care for her. It broke my heart with how much pain they were willing to inflect on themselves trying to help Callie with her lessons in trust with the club scene. I think Eli was the perfect one for that.. I don't think Evander could have gone with the scene as far as it needed to go. It was another scene that had me crying like a baby.
This story pulled so many emotions from me. Just as so many of Kay's books do. This story is going to stay with me for a very long time. This was an awesome start to a new series. I can't wait for the rest of them to be released. I have to say that I hope Callie, Eli and Evander appear in all of them frequently.
I have only read Part 1 so far. Because Part 2 has not yet been released.
Read a recap somewhere else. :)
I started by rereading Faith in _Roulette Finale_. Evander really started out hard to relate to. And Callie was clearly going to be a challenge. (OK, in a real-world version of Black Light, someone as clearly challenged as Callie would not have gotten in the competition).
I recommend a reader read the Club Avalon books first. For a couple of reasons... First, there are continuing characters, so it is useful to do so. And the series is great. And you come to understand the author's style and characters. The author often has deeply broken characters. Not always the sub, but usually the sub. And this book is no exception.
The age gap is discussed 9n depth but is not overplayed. The DDlg dynamic is done well. One of the things the author does REALLY well is to build a well-rounded sub who goes in and out of Little space. Many of the authors in this field have a Little who is, well, a cute and/or bratty Little like all of the time. And that gets old. All of the author's Little characters are well-developed and have different approaches.
Of course, fiction being fiction, everything moves very, very quickly. Which is not all that realistic.
The sex is very hot. The D/s and DD action is really intense. The MFM interactions are great.
Atticus was shockingly clumsy in his initial interaction with Callie. I was really surprised by that scene. I utterly did not expect that. I assumed that he would have been told of her specific triggers.
Whie the final long scene is incredibly, screamingly intense, I somewhat question that approach to desensitization. Hot as hell, but definitely in the "Are you sure this is a good idea?" category.
I am definitely looking forward to part 2. Which, I presume, will add some peril (as the author usually adds).
I’m a huge lover of the Avalon series, and when it ended, I wanted more. So when I found out that a new series was being started, Club Serenity, I just knew it would be just as amazing, and it is! This story is about finding out about yourself, learning new things, and taking chances. Evander and Callie are such a heartwarming couple and when Elias is added into the mix, oh my, did I swoon all over the place! Callie comes from a horrible upbringing and yet somehow perseveres through it all. She is a beautiful young woman, and Little Girl and wants both of them in her life, but how to make that happen? Evander and Elias are as close as brothers and they know that Callie is the perfect person for them, and they are the perfect Daddies for her. But can they show Callie that they would never harm her? That they truly care and love her and want her in their lives? That is why this story is aptly names “Lesson in Trust” because as we all know, trust is what is needed in order to make relationships work. As they guide her and show her how much they are there to love and protect her, you can see how she starts to come out of her shell, and it just melted my heart. I laughed, I cried and I fell in love with Evander, Callie and Elias! I mean how can you not?! These three are just utter perfection! And not to mention, I loved how some of my favorite characters were sprinkled in as well! An incredible start to this series that I can’t wait to devour!
I'm not the most patient of readers, and when I'm involved with characters and their stories, I don't like to wait! Despite this being out for a bit, after my taste in Blacklight Roulette Finale, I wanted to make sure I could see Evander and Callie's story through. I'm glad I waited, but boy, should I have taken a day or two off to compensate for the lack of sleep reading this (and the next) into the early hours will take!
I fell in love with Club Avalon and Kay Elle Parker not too long ago. I'm late to the party, but Kay Elle Parker has fast become a firm favourite, and her writing is simply amazing. I've fallen firmly into the emotional world that Kay writes, and I'm so glad to follow her in her newest adventure with the Club Serenity series.
Evander and Callie started off scorching at the roulette night, and this continuation with the addition of Eli sets the pages on fire! I love the ups and downs, which I'm sure we'll see more of as they navigate the new dynamic, the building of "home," and their own personal demons in the second part. This first part gives me the feels in SO many ways, and I'm excited to see where this series leads. Some old familiar faces pop up in this one, and though I long to spend more time with them, I'm eager for our next "family" to begin at Club Serenity. A must-read 💕
Man, I think I'm getting weird in my old age......now bear with me here ok? I absolutely 💯 was looking forward to this story, since the tease of a story in Black Light, I've been ready for more. And then, out of nowhere I get this thought.......two hot sexy guys is amazing but then you have double the laundry! 😆 But then my brain kicked in and reminded me Evander is rich enough they never do laundry, whew. Callie sure got lucky there 😆 🤣 But in all honesty this story is amazing. They all have damages and hurts from life, Callie most of all. Her previous experience was awful and her dad, just gonna maybe think fond thoughts of things like wood chippers, ya know just because. The way Evander and Elias worked to show their love for Callie and earn her trust was wonderful. I mean the smexy scenes were so 🔥 🥵 but the emotional ones stuck with me after. I'm ready for part two now, and I have a sneaky feeling that we may see some unexpected growth in the relationship between Evander and Elias. I can hope right? I'll wish to the book fairy for it. So yeah, definitely be recommending this story for sure.
4 ⭐ Promising start for this new series that is a spin off of Avalon. I enjoyed meeting again those old characters that became like friends. As someone who enjoys stories about conditioning and deconditioning used as tools for healing, this story worked well. I also like the dynamic of triads: More possibilities for mind games and physical stuff too... I was less enthused with the obsession of the Doms for impregnating the heroine: she practically behaves like a dysfunctional Little (or a legal minor) the whole story, a breeding kink in this situation is off putting for me. Story also has a very condensed timeline (feels a bit rushed tbh) and the poor girl needs to do a lot of healing before considering motherhood that on a sidenote she could refuse if asked the question: Not everyone wants to reproduce, especially in the lifestyle and after such a traumatic childhood. I would really like to read once in a while a story that would consider & respect this choice. My opinion aside, can she at least enjoy her sexuality in peace for a few years before becoming a baby mill? Geeze).

I loved this book! The writing was smooth, easy to sink into, and the storytelling completely pulled me in. From the very first page, I found myself craving more—not just of the characters, but of the mysterious world of Club Serenity and the “family” that’s clearly about to unfold. You can feel the heat, the trust, and the deliciously tempting promise of more to come.
It’s sexy, it’s intoxicating, and it leaves you wanting so much more. If this is only part one, then I cannot wait to see what the rest of the series has in store.
If you’re looking for something that’s equal parts sensual and addictive, with a story that teases and lures you deeper into its world, this is absolutely one to add to your list. Club Serenity is definitely a place I want to get lost in…
This is a great continuation of the story that was started in Black Light: Finale.Evander was one of my favorite Dom's in the Black Light series.Add in a stern British sadist and an emerging Little and you have 2 non- Daddy's that have to learn to be Daddy's.Callie' s horrible childhood colors her attempt at submission. The dynamic between the 3 is riveting and I liked how they mixed Avalon characters into the story.( Club Avalon is also an excellent series by this same author)This story ends leaving several things unanswered.I wondered what will happen to Callie's abusive Father and her horrible ,damaging ex .I can't wait to see these 3 united in a polyamorous wedding, and to see Club Serenity open and the couples we are introduced to from there.I can't wait for the next book in this series to come out so I can see what becomes of Daddy Evander,Callie and Daddy Eli.Kaye Elle Parker doesn't disappoint in this book and series.Well done! 😀
This book is a thing of beauty. Brought together at Black Light Roulette, Evander and Callie are inseparable now. Elias, Evander's right hand man and best friend, finds himself envious of their relationship, and when Evander invites him to join them, he falls for Callie himself. Now there are three. Callie is complicated. Having suffered the abuse of her religious fanatic father and her former Dom, Evander and Elias must tread lightly. Luckily, both men are up for the challenge.
Well written, with complex yet relatable characters, this story is at once touching and heartwrenching. All three of the lovers have suffered in their pasts, although Callie is the one who really needs help right now. It does end on a cliffhanger, which means I'm waiting with bated breath for Part 2. This book is absolutely worth one clicking. Ms. Parker has hit it out of the park.
I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
OMG, Evander is a formidable force to be reckon with, he is a Dom/Daddy Dom (new) as much as Master's Atticus, Thane, Liam, Jasper, any of the Avalon owners/partners. The way he took Callie under his wing (well drew her name at Black Light Roulette); He cares about others, he doesn't like mistreatment of others, and will do his best to offer better options if they so desire; Callie, is a Little who needs reassurance and love; she's special but doesn't see it til Evander starts pushing her to see it - in walks Elias, Evanders best friend and employee. It's a menage like no other; I loved the mention of the owners of BlackLight and poly relationships. It amazes me how the Kay makes you feel every touch, kiss and strike of a tool. There are many lesson's with in this 17 chapter saga. LOVED IT!!!!
This book!!! I honestly don't know what to say other than this is one of my favorites this year, so far. My heart broke for Callie as Evander tried to help her heal. Then when Elias joins in, it looks like it will be easier, right? Wrong! This story was emotional, heartbreaking, amazing and all the other awesome words that I can't think of right now! Things that Evander and Elias do to help Callie overcome her fears definitely fits the title of this book. She must learn to trust them and trust they won't do anything to hurt her like she's been hurt in the past? But will a visit to Club Avalon and a belt bring everything to a halt? I loved this story so much!!! If I could give it 100 stars, I would!!
This is the continuing story of Cally and Evander after playing at the last Black Light Roulette. Evander is infatuated by the little girl who comes out to protect Cally from harm. After being beaten by her father regularly and the her dom , Cally retreated into herself and became a recluse. Evander has a domineering personality and with the help of his PA Elias, together they have to gain Cally’s trust and her love. This story talks about mental and physical abuse and what it leaves behind along with the triggers that manifest themselves at anytime. A story of love, patience and so much passion that will melt your heart for Cally and her two Doms. Revisitng our friends at Avalon is a bonus and I am looking forward to see them appear at Club Serenity!
Evandar is paired with Callie for Blacklight Roulette and this story picks up right after that. Callie was abused as by an overly religious father and then an abusive dominate. She had a little side that she has never really let come out before now. Evandar wants her to embrace all of herself.
When she gets to Denver with home, she realizes that the option of both him and his PA a said is on the table. Most of this story is about building trust between the 3 main characters. There are some steamy scenes but also great relationship building between the three.
Kay anyways writes great characters and has a good mix of story and steam. This story was well written and shorter than her usual books. This is part one and a happy for now ending.
I first read about Callie and Evander from the Black Light Roulette Finale anthology and while that as a novella was emotional roller coaster of a read, this story took me on and even longer ride and to be a start to a new series and well it is an incredible read… Evander is taking Callie home with him after the glorious weekend at BL knowing he can’t leave her and introduces his best friend and right hand man Elias who seamlessly clicks into their DD/LG relationship as they both lovingly help Callie learn and overcome her damaged past… Their story had me in tears, chuckles, madness and sighs as we got to go back to Avalon before we step forward to go to Serenity and I seriously cannot wait to read the next book…love, love.. loved it.
We met Evander and Callie at Black Light Roulette. Evander prayed not to get paired with Callie….. heh, heh, heh. Now Evander is learning to be a Daddy, and how to help overcome the damage both a brutal father and charlatan dom caused.
Butler, driver and best friend Elias becomes a part of the dynamic. Evander is looking for a location to build his dream; Serenity. A BDSM community - where you can get more than “a night”.
A trip to Avalon allows Callie to view other similar relationships, and a deepening of the relationship gives the reader a close-up view of all the action. Simply Superb.
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
Kay Elle Parker has written another book that is a thing of beauty. Two different people brought together at Black Light Roulette, Evander and Callie are inseparable now. He's on his way to check out a site for his new Club Serenity. Elias, Butler and best friend finds himself attracted to Callie, Evander invites him to join them. Now there are two Daddies for Callie to deal with. Still suffering from the abuse of her religious fanatic father and her former Dom. Evander and Elias must try to help Callie recover the sense of self and security of her new life
This is so well written with so much empathy and complex characters, it's touching, heartwrenching and heartwarming watching these three interact.
This is honestly a case of - it's not the book, it's me.
I like BDSM, i'm not huge into the Dom-Sub dynamic (I can do a little) and this book gets into it ...DEEP. If you are in that world and love reading about the dynamic, this book is your Mecca.
It's good writing. I wasn't into the "Little" vs "Daddy" dynamic, also because it was riding off a lot of her past trauma. I think someone who was more into this would love it and having 2 Dom Daddies sounds perfectly delicious - I just didn't get into it as much. They are both incredibly gentle & nurturing with her, especially given the absolute SHITE she's been through.
So this is one of those exceptions - it wasn't for me but if the summary appeals, definitely give it a whirl.
Kay Elle Parker is back and with a brand new series, Club Serenity.
This brand new series by Parker features Callie and Evander who came from the Black Light Series. I love how she is overlapping these series into her Club Avalon Series. I have not read the Black Light Series and I did not struggle to jump into this one. I love how this world is constantly expanding and we get to see each of these couples play out. We fall in love with all these characters and I love seeing them get their own story. As always, Parker brings all the feels in her stories which are beautifully written. I can't wait to see what is to come.
