When Cameron’s best friend asks him to be the best man at his wedding, the perpetual bachelor agrees. However, he’s bitten off more than he can chew when he meets Rhett, the bride’s brother and man of honor. Rhett is Cam’s opposite in every way, vivacious, spontaneous, an internationally famous gamer, autistic, and…young. The sixteen-year age gap means that neither Cam nor Rhett see eye to eye on very much, but the two have to work past their differences in order to keep the wedding ship running smoothly.
When Rhett suffers a tough loss in his gaming career, it’s the cool-headed Cameron he ends up turning to. Will the two end up appreciating their differences, or will it be Game Over before the wedding day?
Dnf 50% There are so many wrong things with this book (starting with the MCs ). It’s like the author after having read a tone of romance books took all the tropes, clichés and topics from all those books and crammed them all into this book. And I mean ALL of them. On top of that there isn’t a single likable character in it and the writing is really really stiff and annoying , so obviously amateurish. I don’t recommend this book.
I want to start this review by mentioning that I rarely read sweet/fun romance books. BUT. When June writes a book, you can bet your booty I'll read it. So I've pushed my taste for darkness aside and read this book.
It's a queer, MM, age-gap romance with dual POV. Being a neurospicy, queer gamer myself, I liked reading about Rhett a lot. Daddy Cam was very steamy and protective over Rhett: yum. The humour in this book was great, it made me laugh with actual sound, in public. The tension between the 2 main characters was hot, just like their sexy times. 🌶️
June's writing is excellent and even though I don't normally read cute, heart warming books like this one...I LOVED IT!
This romance was a fun, hot and refreshing, I have no regrets!
This is a dislike-to-lovers age-gap romance between a graphic designer and a video game streamer/professionnal gamer. Told in 1st person and with dual POV. I greatly enjoyed June Harding's humor and I cackled mutiple times at her clever choice of words.
The dynamic between the characters and the dialogues flowed easily and felt very natural. The romance was touching and I got to love the two main characters so much. They were flawed, sometimes messy, but felt so real and raw, that it brought a unique feel to their romance. The tension growing was palpable and definitely brought the heat up. And that role playing scene! (You'll have to read the book to know what I mean, but it was delightful.) This novel also has representation and diversity, which we need more in books.
June Harding knows how to write a build up with tension, as much in the romance aspect than in other moments of the story: a video game has never been so riveting, better than a fight scene in a fantasy novel!
This author's writing feels very unique and brings a different perspective on love and relationships that gives this book a refreshing tone. There were little moments thoughout the book that I highly enjoyed and realized I've never seen anywhere.
She also made me google what "topiaries" are and I now feel like an accomplished adult.
Highly recommend if you want a fun, swoony and spicy romance!
A surprisingly enjoyable book of opposites attract and you can't judge a book by its cover. (But the bride was super annoying and I could not stand her, especially after the coconut debacle.)
Honestly I am absolutely in love with this book! It may be one of my favs of the year it will be hard to beat this one! Although It is my first MM romance, it was everything I didn’t know I needed in my life! As a fellow gamer myself I appreciate Rhett on a level not everyone will. And Cam well he’s just gold!
June’s writing is absolutely perfect once again! She pulls you into the story so well it’s like you are there watching it unfold instead of reading it. I cannot rave enough how much I absolutely appreciate June’s creativity and writing! Thank you again for letting me be an ARC reader for you I absolutely cannot get enough!
Oh this was just so good! It made me laugh, it made me cry (well nearly) and it made me...hot. The two MMCs are totally lovable in their own way and Daddy Cam makes me want to be a gay man...but I'm not. I really loved Rhett's character and the way his Autism and anxiety was handled.
It may be stupid as she's just a side character, but I despised Mel, I found her so unlikeable and I assumed that would become part of the plot, but it didn't. I suppose this annoyed me as she was someone I think you should like, but I just couldn't. That's a complete rant because it's not that integral to the plot nor the MMCs but it just bugged me.
The story is well written and the smut is so so so good! When they first cam together I admit to doing a little cheer to myself!
There was nothing particularly wrong about Rhett and Cameron together, they worked pretty well together actually. Not an excessive amount of drama but I wasn't that invested in them either.
And if I'm being honest I was more stuck on being annoyed with Rhett's sister than anything else. I didn't want to make an entire review about it but I still want to rant a little bit :').
It's probably going to be a bit spoilery even if it's nothing particularly important.
This cake was mentioned so many times that I thought it was foreshadowing for but I'm glad I was wrong. She was supposedly so in control of everything but I feel like Cameron did most of the fixing and even with her own brother she didn't do much to help him. I know it's a romance so it was needed for the plot for them to get closer but it's not like she particularly tried either. Even at the end when all shit goes down because of it seemed Cameron, Rhett and Mike were the one in contact with everyone. I'm glad at the end Rhett was preemptively like after all we've done to make your wedding possible we won't accept another fit and she seemed genuinely grateful but damn it was a long way to get there.
Still a bit bitter that no one told her to calm down because it's not cute when an adult act like that. At least Mike was there for Cameron's sake when she insisted on the cake. But I find it weird that he didn't even have a thought or his feelings a little hurt that she would insist on something that could kill him. Even more so after the passive agressive comment she "whispered" when visiting a venue, comment they might all have eared, Rhett definitely did. Hell Cameron even defended her saying Mike could work on his approach. Because you know when someone tells you very matter of factly that a cake could kill their best friends your feelings are so much more important and we need to say it in a way that won't upset you. As if common sense shouldn't make you not want that cake in the first place without prompting.
If there is one thing June Harding can do, it’s writing the smuttiest, the sweatiest, and sexiest sex scene there is to write. This is twice now that she has blown my mind, on a personal level, and realized there’s something out there I enjoy way too much. This is a M/M Rom-Com that wraps you in like a hug like a cold winter morning. A wedding in the very near future (more like 3 months) and there’s a lot of planning and doing. The two best men meet, and it sky rockets from there! It’s a slow progression, slow burn, romance.
Tropes Cute Meet-Cute Age Gap Emotional Scars Rejected as unworthy by parents and former lovers Broken in some way Dude in Distress Stuck Together Grumpy Sunshine Undercover Love Protector – I have a serious sense of one-sided protection from one character to another. Very protective. And very jealous. It was right in front of you all along!
This book is a home run, ball straight out of the park, Queer RomCom that will make your heart pump peanut butter! June has officially found her calling with this cute little romance between the Best Man and Man of Honor. Oh, and the spice?! I feel sorry for my significant other.
I must say, I don’t read RomComs. I find them boring and put me to sleep faster than my Calm app. June kept the speed with this one. Her writing style has a way of drawing her readers with pure excitement. Not only is this a new favorite of mine, but this woman knows how to open Pandoras Box. All shame out the window! I’m in love! When is the next one?! FEED ME, Momma June!
This was a super fun and quick read! It is a wonderful queer rom-com pallet cleanser. Sometimes when I read a little too much dark, I need a little light and fun and this is the perfect book for that.
This book was just *chefs kiss* I couldn’t find a single thing wrong with it, I enjoyed every second of it. I love the slow burn and age gap tossed into it. The dynamic of the two mcs was perfect. I loved the opposites attract, teaching each other new things, grumpy x sunshine vibe.
Adorable and heart warming with a good amount of smut. 🌶️
I devoured this book in 24 hours. It was a cute story and relatable on so many levels. The spicy scenes were top notch! I’ll definitely be reading more from this author. I would love to read a sequel about Jesse maybe!
The book was a lot better than I expected - it was fun and smart, and I really enjoyed reading it. I especially liked the dialogue and quickly gained an appreciation for Rhett's character, which I thought was more complex than I initially gave it credit for. I was disappointed in the stereotypical sex roles of the two main characters. I know it's part of the fantasy, but I'd like to have seen something a bit more realistic and less stocky. But I'm certain it appeals to many as it stands.
What you should know about me is that, if there is even a hint of another book on the horizon, a gem in the rom/com genre, you can be sure that I will be first in line. So obviously I had to read Two Best Men!
Engagement, preparation of wedding and Cameron as a groom’s best friend of course agreed to be his best man, that's what best friends are for, right? Little did he know how this promise will change his life and perspective on certain things. All caused by the choice of the bride-to-be, who chose as her maid of honor.... her younger brother. Rhett is a spontaneous, autistic, internationally famous gamer, and.... sixteen-years younger than Cameron!
Rhett and Cameron, who completely differ from each other, must work together for the sake of the future bride and groom. And believe me, both of them try their best, however they cannot deny the fact that the one does not like the other from the very beginning.
Subsequent events, however, not necessarily positive, – e.g., Rhett suffers a tough loss in his gaming career - bring them closer together. It’s thanks to Cameron's composure that the 20-year-old gets back on his feet and doesn't completely slide into himself.
This story is told in 1st person, but in dual POV, both Cams and Rhetts or maybe I should say Daddys and Kids? I haven’t suspected that in this book there will be some much spice – for sure this is for an adult readers, don't be fooled by the sweet cover! And I absolutely LOVED it!
The dynamic of two main characters was so great, I could’t stop reading! Apart of steamy parts, this books is full of humorous parts – I laugh out-loud, ask my husband (I’m sure by now he thinks I’m crazy) – and those sweet ones or tearing your heart to half. June knows how to build up the tension, but I cannot forget to mention how she marvellously described the video game tournament - @ valeri can confirm, that I asked her, if this game really exists!
Summing up, since this review is longer and longer every minute this romance was something I didn't ask for, but what I definitely needed! All those feelings were coming from each page straight to my heart and soul. Highly recommend for anyone who like steamy romance, but also want to have some fun during the reading
It started pretty good and then progressively got worse. Cameron is probably the only likable character throughout the whole book. Age gaps aren’t usually my thing, but if they’re well written they can be fantastic reads. This is not one of those.
Rhett is 22 with the emotional maturity of a 16 year old, and that’s a big part of what makes this age gap romance stink. I get it, life is hard and you’re still learning at 22. But Rhett is a grown man and he was constantly coddled, like GROW UP! Rhett honestly put Cameron (38) through a bunch of crap. But because Cam is a respectable and mature adult, he just took it to avoid drama. I’m sorry, but there was clearly a budding relationship between them yet Rhett’s focus was still everywhere else but Cam, even after first getting together! Checking out other women, still hooking up or trying to hook up with former threesome partners, ACCEPTING CALLS FROM YOUR EX AS SOON AS THINGS GET TOUGH?????? Unbelievable. Rhett was essentially trying to force Cam into the public when their relationship literally just started, Cam had every right to want his private life remain private. All he wanted was privacy before being a public couple, and Rhett took it as not wanting a relationship at all and immediately took interest back into his ex. Calling the ex pet names while at Cam’s house??? Pathetic. This all doesn’t happen in the just beginning of the book either, this type of behavior is still occurring nearly 3/4 of the way through.
Rhett was too immature and brought so much trouble and Cam always tried to look after him. Rhett truly did not deserve Cam. Cam took on a lot of misplaced blame, he apologized for his part in their hiccup and Rhett gave nothing. Completely one sided relationship. Honestly, Cam’s only major flaw was a lack of self respect. He was a pushover when it came to Rhett. Rhett put Cam through so much, I didn’t even care Cam got upset about the ex when it ended up being nothing. Valid crash out and should’ve happened sooner. The romance just felt completely nonexistent between the main characters, and you know it’s bad when I’m actually rooting for Cam to leave Rhett and find someone better. The pet names are awful. And the random role play was so out of left field, it was just smut for smut’s sake and it wasn’t even good. There is no true resolution to all of Rhett’s gaming drama, which was a pretty big portion of the story, and it was glossed over very quickly in the end. Even the side characters were annoying, frankly just overdramatic stereotypes of men and women. Yuck. AND it still needs another round of edits. Big swing and a miss on this one.
It was weird seing such a heated first introduction (Rhett almost running into Cam holding his friend's baby which led to Cam yelling at him) to suddenly just having pleasant conversation as if Cam didn't just say "I was going to have to endure a whole meal next to him." I get the author was tryong to convey that Rhett wasn't picking up on Cam's animosity, but I barely picked up on it as well. I needed more explicit hidden anger in Cam's thoughts an descriptions as opposed to friendly questions with random interspered "Rhett was genuine"
"I shot a glance towards Rhett, who didn't look up from his phone as he winked at me."
How exactly do you wink at someone without looking at them? So Rhett just blinked one eye at his phone?
Mike and Rhett's interactions were a bit confusing. Saying things like "thorn in my side" and dreading the other's presence but not actually showing it made the weird dynamic weird. It was like annoyance to lovers but the "annoyance" part is only ever stated but never shown in the characters' interactions.
Getting the play by play on definitely not PUBG/Fortnite was interesting. I personally liked it because it seemed very believable as survival 1v1 battle royale game and was refreshing over the numerous sports romances out there.
I'm very confused on what the author wanted us to think of the bride. She's very unlikable (like 2 steps down from a bridezilla) but is treated almost like she isn't being competely unreasonable (fucking coconut cake when the best man is allergic + the panicking about the venue when she was the one that insisted on getting married quick)
I'm DNF-ing primarily because the romance didn't really catch me. There wasn't much romantic tension and the build up could've used a bit more simmering to really sell the idea that Rhett and Cameron were dying to be with each other.
I really enjoyed Two Best Men, my first June Harding book.
It had quite a few elements I love reading: enemies to lovers (although here it's more dislike); age-gap; neurodiversity; gaming; funny side characters; both characters falling for each other but trying to hide it; great dialogue; and main characters that were messy, flawed, funny, sweet, kind, and real.
I loved how normalized Rhett's neurodiversity, as well as his bisexuality and anxiety, were, and how protective Cam was over him, never straying into over-protectiveness or patronizing behaviour. The fact that Rhett lived and worked in a whole different world than Cam AND is incredibly successful, both professionally and financially, puts a really refreshing spin on the age-gap trope; although he's younger, he is arguably more successful than Cam, but it never creates friction or arguments. I enjoy age-gap romances where there's a balance of power (financially as well as in terms of expertise in separate areas) so that it never comes across that the older MC is parenting the younger MC, and the writer strikes a great balance with Rhett and Cam.
I really enjoyed Rhett's sister, Melody, and Cam's best friend, Mike,as well as Mike and Cam's whole circle of friends. I really hope Jesse gets his own book, because it seems that he would have such a great story to tell.
I loved this romance. What you have is an age, gap, forced proximity, grumpy sunshine, where the sunshine character is pure chaos. When these two are forced to spend time together as the best man and man of honour at a wedding, they start off not understanding each other at all. However, they quickly become so intrigued by each other, that there’s no avoiding the chemistry. This is an opposites attract where you are rooting for them, even though their very nature make it seem impossible for them to work as a couple.
The mental health rep in this book of anxiety is spectacular and a surprisingly large part of the plot. Rhett’s struggle with mental health while trying to hold down a high stress career in gaming is so well written, and how the older Cameron is won over by the energetic ball of chaos that is Rhett is wonderful to read.
Rhett’s, irratic behaviour is going to be a driving force in the angst of this plot. But it’s 100% worth it to get to their HEA.
I want to start off this review by saying this is my first MM romance, and it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved June Harding’s Gold series, and was so excited to read another book by her, even though this isn’t my normal genre. I’m so glad I took the chance on it! 📚💕
This book is a feel good, age gap rom com with some sexy as sin spice. I’m absolutely in love with Rhett and Cam! Rhett is a 22 year old professional game streamer, and Cam is an older, skeptical graphic designer stuck in his ways. At their first meeting they clash, but as they’re thrown together more and more for the upcoming wedding they can’t help but feel the chemistry between them.
There were several times that I laughed out loud while reading. Cam and Rhett’s banter and dialogue was such a joy to read. I loved watching Rhett go from calling Cam “old man” to “daddy.” 😈😍
Also, the scene in the principal’s office will now live rent free in my head. 🥵
Definitely a great palette cleanser, this was a cute wedding based MM romcom.
I loved Rhett and identified with him a bunch, as someone who is also autistic it was nice to see some familiarity there. Cam was alright, he was your stereotypical grumpy older MMC.
It was a fun read but I definitely had some issues with it. Firstly, our main couple jumped from being casual to absolute commitment way too quickly, one chapter Cam was all I’m not ready yet then the next he was saying I love you, which now that I think about it I don’t think Rhett said it back lol Secondly was the daddy kink, IM SORRY, it’s just not for me and took me by surprise a bit, there was one sexual scene in particular where Cam was talking to Rhett like he was a child and that just tainted it for me 🫣 Not to yuck on someone’s yum but ew
Wow, i loved this 🥰 MM is becoming one of my favourite troupes and of course June is such an amazing author. She just has a way with words that draw you in and makes you feel the emotions.
I loved the storyline and all the characters had great and different personalities and i ended up feeling connected to them all in away and not just the two main characters.
Rhett and Cameron, what a pair they are just made of each other. Theres a big age gap but who cares? Love is all that matters they have their moments but their chemistry is just WOW.
Big shout out to how June integrates the normalisation of autism, anxiety, mental health and sexuality these are huge in the world we live in and needs to be talked about more and be more understood.
If you like rom-com with some amazing steam this is definitely a book for you. This will be the first rom-com that I'd happily read again I highly recommend
Oooohh and a shout out to the principal's scene 🥵🥵🥵 amazing
Two Best Men is the story of Rhett and Cameron. Rhett's sister is marrying Cameron's best friend. They have to work together to help with the wedding plans. Cameron is 16 years older than Rhett and a businessman. Rhett is a full-time successful video gamer. At first, they cannot understand the lifestyle of the other one. As they spend more time together, opinions begin to change. Their relationship begins as a secret. What happens when it's not a secret anymore? Is Rhett over his ex? Can Cameron and Rhett make this relationship work even with their differences? Can they save the wedding when things start to unfold in a different way than planned?
I enjoyed this story. I like the age gap and how their perspectives of each other change as they begin to hang out with each other. I loved how the supporting characters were also used to make the story complete, and it wasn't just focused on the main two characters.
I’m in love with Cameron & Rhett’s love story. This is a beautifully written story about two completely different men overcoming personal hurdles then embracing the love and passion they have with each other!
Rhett is a young neurodivergent world champion gamer Cameron is an established stubborn graphic designer These two uniquely different men are brought together when Cam is asked to be the Best Man in his childhood best friends wedding, which happens to be the same wedding Rhett is asked to be the Bridesman in! 💞 These two endure the chaos of Bridezilla and her over the top demands all while Rhett’s world is falling apart. Is Cam the right man to keep Rhett from spiralling out of control so his best friend can marry the love of his life?
Spice rating- 4🌶
Head over to Kindle Unlimited to see how it turns out for Rhett and Cam! 💕
MM. Age Gap. Representation of Autism. A hint of forced proximity.
When Cams best friend asks him to be his best man, he meets Rhett, the brides neurodivergent, younger pro-gamer of a brother and her Man of Honor. Cam and Rhett are worlds apart but their attraction and banter with each other is steamy, hilarious and touching.
Topics of autism tics, anxiety and panic, bisexuality and coming out are touched in this story in a real and relatable way.
My thoughts: •You can definitely see the accurate representation of age difference between Cam and Rhett. Especially with their jobs, outlooks and overall attitudes on life. •Cam was so protective of Rhett and I adored him for that. •The chapter titles were perfect •Shelby the Bassett hound is an icon •I am from Florida so the fact that this story took place in Florida and during a hurricane season was funny to me.
Loved this little MM rom-com! Rhett and Cam jelled really well together, despite the 16 year age gap.
Spice was really good and it was a super nice surprise to find out Cam was possessive and demanding in the bedroom and that Rhett is the most willing bottom ever. They just meshed. I really liked that it was a slow burn and that they both took the time to get to know each other, to not push each other or pry until one was ready to talk.
Pacing was good, I didn’t feel bored or anything, and I liked the overall story. I liked that there was communication and conversations; the inner monologues never went on for long, so this didn’t feel overly wordy. There were some spelling issues in the book that were not picked up during editing, but this is a very minor gripe.
Overall, really enjoyed it and I look forward to reading more from this author!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Review:
Two best men by June Harding was a fun, hot and quick read for me. It was such a cute queer rom-com, that is great if you are looking for a quick palate cleanser. The humor on this book was so incredible and the tension between the main characters was amazing. The spicy scenes between them were also really good. This was my first book by June Harding and I can say I will be continuing to read from this author. If you are looking for a fun, sweet and spicy queer rom com then you should definitely read two best men by June Harding.
This was the cutest, steamiest, funniest, and all together feel good story! And this just so happened to be my first June Harding book, and it did not disappoint! And let me also say this… June knows how to do some MM spice! Those two were 🥵🥵🥵 Daddy Cam — filthy as sin mouth.
Cam is such a grumpy, stuck in his ways “old man” & Rhett is a young, live by the seat of his pants younger guy! They compliment each other so well, that you can just tell they were made to cross paths. Their story is sweet, emotional, angsty, and just an all around feel good story! I simply adore them! Such a nice palate cleanser from all the dark romances I read!
I've read June's other books and loved them. This one is no exception. Two best men is one of the few contemporary romances I've read, and it's one of my favourite reads so far this year. If you like age-gap romance with a grumpy one and a sunshine but packed with serious topics like neurodiversity and bridezillas, this is your go-to book. I love the foreshadowing in the beginning, and June's writing is always so accurate to capture the scene and characters perfectly. I loved everything about it, I literally inhaled this wholesome story!
I just finished 3 pretty heavy fantasy books & a pretty dark contemporary romance, and this was the *perfect* fun, light palette cleanser. It was a little cheesy at times, but easy to read and a fun RomCom.
June Harding is becoming one of my favorite authors!! This book had me hooked from the beginning it is a queer rom-com and my first ever to read!! The story line is great the smutt is amazing and I was hooked from beginning to end!! The way Cameron is just a lover made me love him more and the way Rhett just lives in the moment made me adore his character more and they complement each other so well!! A must read!
