Jack jerked from his nightmare by the shrill ringing. He reached for his wife only to realize that the nightmare he had been living for the last seven years wasn't going away. Becki was gone and every year on the anniversary of her death he found himself lost in a bottle of bourbon.
But his drunken sleep rapidly left him when he answered his phone. The weather girl serial killer he has been chasing had come out of hiding. A fourth woman had just been found.
Spring was in the air and Tori was waiting for the rush she usually gets at this time of year, but the hangover was all that she was feeling.
It is the beginning of chase season and it was the only thing that gave her a reason not to get lost in the bottom of a bottle. Her popular show Vortex follows her and her crew as they chase tornadoes and she is hoping to get some amazing footage this year.
What she doesn't need is an FBI agent glued to her because he thinks she is the next target of a crazed serial killer.
I don't know how, but this is my favorite of the series so far and the other two books were amazing! It is very well written and the characters are fully developed and relatable. Although this book has its own HEA, I highly recommend you read this series from the beginning. Jack is best friends with Garrett from book two of this series and the characters are recurring throughout the series.
This book is truly action-packed as they are literally in the eye of the tornado during this story. This book is full of danger from both nature, a serial killer and alcoholism. This book is full of angst and smoking hot.
I love how all of these books are full of danger and even though they are related by personal relationships from book to book they have totally different topic ranges which I found to be very well researched. A biochemist, a sign interpreter, a rare hearing disorder, an FBI agent, Down's Syndrome, a storm chaser, major grief, child abuse, alcoholism... so many subjects and so many emotions. Michelle Grey is definitely a one-click author. Can't wait to read Cam's story!

This book follows Jack, who's an FBI agent and whom we met in the previous book with Garrett and Rachel; And Tori who's a daredevil of a girl as she chases storms and rushes straight into danger with her show, Vortex along with her team but also battles with a problem that she doesn't know how to distance herself from.
I had been looking forward to Jack's book after knowing about his past and I was totally rooting for him in the previous book to find his happiness too.
Jack might have moved on but you don't just get over losing the love of your life so early on in your life and now he's only focus is his work and his family.
When Jack finally finds the lead he'd been waiting for in the 𝖬𝗎𝗋𝖽𝖾𝗋 case he's working on, he immediately is ready to dive in this case and get the culprit once and for all.
Only he will have to be part of the crew and follow Tori around as she's the next that the culprit seems to have as his target.
Tori doesn't like the fact that the hot FBI agent has just barged into her show and she can't do anything about it.
Moreover, she doesn't really believe that the emails she received mean anything but everyone is convinced that she's in danger.
The only clue that Jack and his team have as lead is the fact that the culprit seems to be targeting women graduated from one meteorological college and now Jack has to ensure that no matter what he reaches the root of this and finds out who's behind it all.
It was thrilling to see what Tori does, chasing storms and defying danger to provide viewers with rare but amazing visuals was freaking crazy.
Amidst the mystery angle we also have lots of emotional turmoil going on too as Tori has her own past demons to battle with which has led her to have this massive problem with alcoholism.
There's angst too as Jack and Tori fight what feels right for them and I really didn't know how deep this one would take me emotionally too.❤️❤️
I've already read the fourth book and absolutely loved it and so, I liked seeing Cam and he's connections in this book with Tori and Jack.

The cover and blurb pulled me in, but I had to drag myself through this story. Here's why. (WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!) Tori Whitlock (our heroine) is an alcoholic who suffers from psychological issues stemming from her parents' rejection because she wasn't "perfect" like her sister. After her family is killed by a tornado, Tori becomes a tornado chaser, partly due to the guilt she feels over her sister's death. I soon grew tired of Tori's compulsive drinking.
When Tori receives emails from a suspected serial killer who's murdering female meteorologists, FBI Agent Jack Mathis (our hero) is assigned to protect her. He moves into her home in Oklahoma, prepared to watch her 24-7 until the killer is caught. Tori initially resents his presence, but she's soon craving his touch, and their mutual desire eventually yields to full-blown sex at 50% in.
Who is this mysterious killer, anyway? Since all of his victims are female graduates of the University of Oklahoma's School of Meteorology, it's possible the perpetrator has some connection with the school, but how? Hoping to draw him into the open, the FBI sends a female agent (Sheila Graham) to impersonate Tori, but the plan backfires when Graham is killed with a long range rifle. Can Jack stop the killer before he gets to Tori?
After a tornado chase in Minnesota, Jack stations FBI Agent Lewis outside the door of Tori's hotel room to protect her, while Jack goes downstairs to grab vending machine snacks. Here's where things get downright dumb. Our perp--a young guy who's previously described as a "kid"-- somehow manages to drug Agent Lewis via a "sting in the back of his neck." (Seriously?) Using a key he's stolen from housekeeping, the killer enters Tori's room and drags her outside, intending to kidnap and kill her. She fights him off. Jack shows up and shots are fired. The killer dies, and Jack is severely wounded.
The story drags along for another ninety pages. Tori suffers a mental breakdown and enters a five-month-long treatment program to deal with her alcoholism and guilt issues. If Jack lives, will our lovers find their way back to each other? I'm not saying. By the way, it turns out that the killer targeted his victims because he was rejected from UO's meteorology program in favor of female applicants. He left a note beside each body that read, "Better Than You." A male superiority complex run amok, I guess. This tale earns two dull stars from me.

You know you have read a good book when you find yourself thinking about the characters long after you have turned the last page. Tori and Jack are some of the most complex and well-written characters I have read as of late. At the heart of this romantic suspense novel lies two troubled people whose internal battles are not only relatable but heartbreaking. While I liked the elements of suspense, I loved reading about Tori and Jack's struggles and their personal breakthroughs. Amidst the backdrop of storm chasing, murder, and difficult pasts, this novel shows how two seemingly broken individuals can come together to heal and find love along the way.
Romantic suspense novels have many layers, but another layer I truly appreciated and wanted to highlight was the thread of humor throughout the book. The book is written through a third-person perspective, following both Jack and Tori's thoughts. Both characters are people I would want to be friends with-- they are so richly written and detailed, I could visualize them off of the page. Tori's voice especially resonates with me. As a young and fairly stubborn female myself, I found myself enjoying her inner dialogues and especially her banter with Jack. Tori is how I like my female characters-- a chip on her shoulder, sarcastic, big-hearted, and funny to boot.
An additional plus -- The leading duo has undeniable electricity in their relationship, and reading the push-pull dynamic was incredibly satisfying.

I was introduced to this writer by Hidden Gems in receiving the ARC for Convergence. Before reading this, I went back and read the first book in the series, which was not necessary but gave me an idea of the author’s style.
As the book opens, FBI Agent Jake Mathias has been informed that another body has been found in his “Weather Girls” case, where meteorologists are being killed. As they investigate, they realize the killer has targeted a woman who is a storm chaser in Oklahoma, so Jake goes there and meets Tori. There is an instant attraction but due to his position on the case, he is reluctant to get involved with her.
Although there is a good mystery and suspense story around finding the killer, the main part of the book examines Tori and her life. She has a tragic childhood background and that has continued into how she reacts to people and her life. This part of the book really made it for me. At earlier points, I thought that it moved slowly for a book about chasing tornadoes, but then the look at Tori’s issues from her past really made for a good ending.

An emotionally gripping ride:
This book had a depth to it and whilst book 3 in the series, can definitely be read as a standalone.
Both Tori and Jack are dealing with demons from their pasts and have closed themselves off to love. Their worlds collide when Jack, an FBI agent, determines that Tori is a serial killers next probable victim. You could really feel their connection and I enjoyed seeing them grow as individuals and then finally come together as a couple.
All of the storm chasing only added to the high intensity and drama. I liked the mystery and suspense elements although did find the climax of the case a bit of a let down. I appreciated that this book dealt with some heavy subjects such as serial killers and alcoholism yet without coming across as too dark or heavy. Ultimately it was about new beginnings, hope and love being strong enough to carry you through.

This was my first time reading something by Michelle Grey, but the description was intriguing. Jack is an FBI agent trying to track down the serial killer who seems to be targeting meteorologists. The current target, Tori, is a storm chaser with her own show. Jack is taken with Tori from the moment he sets eyes on her. Tori is taken with Jack, as well, but demons from her past keep her well-guarded. Jack and Tori both have their demons, demons that can destroy them or make them stronger. Will they open themselves up and be stronger together or will their pasts get the best of them. There is plenty of action and danger to this story, as well as drama with underlying sexual currents - this is for the 18+ crowd. Be prepared when you start this story... it's a long one. I enjoyed the story and unexpected twists. Read to find out of they get their HEA.

my first dnf of the year :((
i thought the premise of this book sounded really good, but sadly it just fell flat for me
it’s got super high ratings though, so i really don’t know what i’m missing. and i’m mad about it because after hearing about it i was quite excited to start! there was about one day between me becoming aware of convergence and me starting it.
however, there were a number of moments that annoyed me for various reasons (tori is really not like other girls!) and i don’t feel connected to either tori or jack, so i’d rather stop here instead of trying to force myself to read it, because i’m just not interested

This is the third book in this series, and this is Jack and Tori’s story.
Jack is an FBI agent who is head of a team searching for a serial killer, and when he receives a tip that storm chaser Tori might be the next target, he joins her team.
This is a well written story which is an action packed, emotionally charged story, with danger, suspense, mystery, intrigue, drama, enemies / lovers, challenges, twists and turns, redemption, undeniable chemistry, and romance, which leads to a thrilling addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I loved the ending
How we find each other.. is always unexpected
This book shows we can find hope.. even if it's a novel we have to believe this is more than just a story. Love can change everything. This is a good read.

Great book
Enjoyed this book, even though it had suspense it was easy to read. I didn't much like the heroine to start off, but I am glad I gave her a chance, it was worth it. This is the first book by this author and it won't be the last.

This was an excellent read from a new author. Both Jack and Tori are flawed but are really relatable. You feel for them because of their history and they both know they have issues that they must conquer before they can be together.

Not a fan of stories about alcoholics. Tori is an unlikable character. Jack is still wrapped up in his deceased wife/college sweetheart. Two main characters who are unable or unwilling to move forward. The fact that Tori is a storm chaser is very secondary.

I loved that the strong(ish) female protagonist is a tornado chaser (on my bucket list to do). I wish more of this had been included good plot but I had already worked out who the killer was early on, so it didn’t really keep me guessing.

Ok, so the ENTIRE book is not walking sex, but there is TONS of UST and when they do finally come together, this is exactly how I felt... DEAR HEAVENS THAT WAS HOT!
Convergence delivered in so many ways that thriller romances tend to fail. Tori Whitlock was a well rounded, wounded heroine drinking her way through life and chasing tornadoes with abandon when a serial killer targeting OU graduates of the meteorology program decides that she should be his next victim of choice. Jack Mathis is the FBI agent assigned to protect her and take down the killer, if he can keep his hands off her and stand by protocol during his stay. This is the third book in a series, though I believe it reads well as a standalone as I haven't read any of the other's in the series. I want to read the first two now though, if they provide even half the heart and heat of this book!
Both Tori and Jack are broken in some way, shape, or form. Both have battled alcoholism (though Tori's is much more present day than Jack's battle, and much more serious). Both have lost people they loved dearly. Both broke me and I was overjoyed to see them become something more than just the UST and a the one nighters of Tori's old habits.
Jack is what I think of when I think of the macho FBI/CIA/Cop/Secret Agent type - rugged and strong, selfless to the point of recklessness where he must to anything to safeguard a damsel in distress - even if that damsel is tough as nails in her own right! He's tough, but he's righteous and good with a strong heart and sense of self.
Tori is sassy, headstrong and independent though almost to a fault. She's got those deep seated childhood issues where she feels like she was the imperfect child, her parents should have "stopped at one" because she couldn't compete with her sister Vanessa. As she lost them during a tornado (a little a la Twister but I love that movie so we'll go with it), she feels like she should have died too, instead of her sister Vanessa. Losing that rock that loved her so well when her whole turns to shit, Tori turns to the bottle. It isn't until the end that you learn when (and how) she learned that alcohol should drown her sorrows or why she chases the storms. I loved seeing the complexity of her character and the growth that she went through in the story.
Finding a romance that fits this bill, that's hard to find but when you do, stick with it!

Ok, so the ENTIRE book is not walking sex, but there is TONS of UST and when they do finally come together, this is exactly how I felt... DEAR HEAVENS THAT WAS HOT!
Convergence delivered in so many ways that thriller romances tend to fail. Tori Whitlock was a well rounded, wounded heroine drinking her way through life and chasing tornadoes with abandon when a serial killer targeting OU graduates of the meteorology program decides that she should be his next victim of choice. Jack Mathis is the FBI agent assigned to protect her and take down the killer, if he can keep his hands off her and stand by protocol during his stay. This is the third book in a series, though I believe it reads well as a standalone as I haven't read any of the other's in the series. I want to read the first two now though, if they provide even half the heart and heat of this book!
Both Tori and Jack are broken in some way, shape, or form. Both have battled alcoholism (though Tori's is much more present day than Jack's battle, and much more serious). Both have lost people they loved dearly. Both broke me and I was overjoyed to see them become something more than just the UST and a the one nighters of Tori's old habits.
Jack is what I think of when I think of the macho FBI/CIA/Cop/Secret Agent type - rugged and strong, selfless to the point of recklessness where he must to anything to safeguard a damsel in distress - even if that damsel is tough as nails in her own right! He's tough, but he's righteous and good with a strong heart and sense of self.
"Yes, it is. And you need to learn how to hold a grudge."
He raised an eyebrow. "Is that so?"
"Absolutely. You're too nice for your own good."
"And you're the most perplexing woman I've ever met."
"But never boring, right?"
Tori is sassy, headstrong and independent though almost to a fault. She's got those deep seated childhood issues where she feels like she was the imperfect child, her parents should have "stopped at one" because she couldn't compete with her sister Vanessa. As she lost them during a tornado (a little a la Twister but I love that movie so we'll go with it), she feels like she should have died too, instead of her sister Vanessa. Losing that rock that loved her so well when her whole turns to shit, Tori turns to the bottle. It isn't until the end that you learn when (and how) she learned that alcohol should drown her sorrows or why she chases the storms. I loved seeing the complexity of her character and the growth that she went through in the story.
Finding a romance that fits this bill, that's hard to find but when you do, stick with it!

No serial killer or hot FBI agent is going to come between Tori Whitlock and her tornado chase season but Detective Jack Mathis plays tough and it’s his mission to end this case while he has the advantage in this thrilling romantic suspense.
Spine chilling suspense grabs hold of the reader almost from very first page as Detective Jack Mathis receives a phone call about his case and the excitement and intrigue continuously builds throughout the story as unexpected twists and a madman forces Tori and Jack to play his game and let’s not forget that Tori has an adrenaline junkie’s dream job, chasing dangerous storms. The scenes are well written and full of vivid details that capture the imagination and makes it easy for readers to become caught up in the story while the intriguing events ensure that there’s never a dull moment.
Tori and Jack are strong, compelling characters that are easily related to and draw the readers in, both have some emotional issues that affect their everyday life but most especially their personal lives and getting past Tori’s walls proves to be quite the challenge for Jack which adds spice and a bit of drama to the story and keeps this relationship on a very rocky road with heated clashes along the way. There’s also a couple of strong, supporting characters and a bit of a personal situation that intrudes on Tori and Jack’s relationship which adds more depth to the story in this steady to fast paced and smooth flowing plot full of suspense, excitement and romance.
I like romantic suspense stories but this story especially caught my interest because of the tornado chasing…it’s the first book I’ve read that features a “Twister” career and I’m really glad that I decided on it because I found that Jack and Tori’s characters caught my interest as much as the suspense and excitement. Oh and FYI, this can be read as a standalone story, and now I am off to find the previous books in this series.

I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever now. I read the first 2 books and loved them. Even though this is the 3rd book in the series it i a complete standalone. When I read the synopsis for this book I was stoked. Twister has always been one of my favorite movies. And,this had Twister written all over it. Except it had a hot FBI detective and a stalker. What can get better then that.
FBI Detective Jack Mathis has been chasing a serial killer. For some reason he's been one step behind him for awhile now. The stalker has been going after and killing female meteorologists. Jack gets word the killer has tried to make contact with Tori Whitlock. Tori is the host of the hit local TV show Vortex. Jack heads to Oklahoma to insert himself into Tori's everyday life until he gets the killer before he can kill Tori or anybody else.
Tori is not happy on her good days. Let alone on bad days. For the most part Tori is a loner. And, she likes it like that. She has very few select people into her life.The few that are there are because she lets them. When Tori's told that Det. Jack will be in her life 24/7 until the killer is caught she is beyond livid. The attraction between Tori and Jack is there and strong. But, Tori doesn't plan on making thing easy for Jack. Tori has a job to do. Chase storms for the upcoming season. She doesn't plan on letting Jack or a stalker/killer stop her.
This book was insane. It was non-stop action. Both Jack and Tori were running from their past. They were definitely handling it differently. Jack dove into work. Tori dove into chasing storms among other things. Trust me I say you need to read this. I can't tell you how many times I'd be laughing and then like "OMG!" the next. Michelle did an excellent job at keeping me guessing who the killer was. I was wrong three times. Yes, I said that THREE times! Even the secondary characters were great. There's 2 I hope get their own book.

FBI Agent Jack Mathis has been working a case of a serial killer targeting female meteorologists while battling demons of his past, when the case brings him to Oklahoma and storm chaser Tori Whitlock. Jack believes Tori will be the next victim and in an attempt to get ahead of the killer and catch him, inserts himself into Tori’s life. Tori, also battling demons of her past, is focused solely on the upcoming storm season, and getting good footage for her show Vortex.
This was a very fast paced book that drew me in from the first page and kept me hanging on for dear life. The energy and electricity between Jack and Tori, the storms they chased, and the buildup of trying to find the killer made this a book I could not put down. The characters stories were very detailed, and presented in a way that you got the background you needed while staying engaged to the main plot as well as the several sub-plots. One thing I really liked is the way the different storylines folded around each other, but were always easy to follow. The action in this book had me white knuckling my kindle as if I was right there with them. I just can’t say enough about how well this story is written.
I absolutely love Romantic Suspense Novels, but I am very picky about them. This one is going straight to the top of my favorites! It’s the perfect mix of Romance and Suspense, I was captivated from beginning to end! I can’t wait to read more by Michelle Grey!

Whether we call it a romantic suspense or a mystery/romance, the chase is on in Convergence. The plot and characters satisfy detective story lovers and also please readers of romance novels. It’s told from two points of view. Tori Whitlock, the beautiful, hard-nosed tornado chaser isn’t looking for commitment, and Jack Mathis, the hot FBI detective intends only to chase the serial killer threatening Tori’s life. Their worlds collide when the detective must take up residence in Tori’s home to protect her.
Tori has become a celebrity from her electrifying tornado chase videos, and she’s totally upfront about pursuing Jack for a roll in the sack. But she’s also running from demons and ready to lash out with her sharp tongue against the idea of being protected. Jack finds himself drawn to the intelligent, strong-willed lady but won’t let himself act unprofessionally. He’s also still healing from past heartbreak.
The detective fits right in with Tori’s tornado chase team, but he must investigate each member in case the killer of women meteorologists has infiltrated the group. The reader learns how chase teams work while following the increasing fearfulness and also the sexual tension. As soon as we think we don’t know much about the inner Jack or about Tori’s motivations, the author gives us more. Gradually, the characters become rounded until we care as much as they do.
Convergence gives us two main characters, two intertwined plots, and two climaxes (no pun intended). We turn pages to learn whether the serial killer will ever be identified and whether the protagonists will be able to share their feelings with each other. It’s a twisted path, but worth the turns.

I'm never too sure what to expect when I read a new author, to me, for the first time. Michelle Grey surpassed any and/or all expectations I may have had. Tori Whitlock is a brilliant tornado chaser with severe demons. She won't let anyone stand in her way, not even a serial killer who is targeting her. FBI Agent, Jack Mathis, has been chasing this killer for a while, but when it takes him to Oklahoma to keep Tori safe, he has more than he bargained for. She's hostile, when he has to interject himself in every aspect of her life, so she makes life difficult. But neither can deny the fact that the sparks are flying, and no matter how much Tori tries, Jack won't give in. He's bound and determined to keep her safe, and he can't afford any distractions. Will Jack be able to keep the head strong Tori safe?
WOW WOW WOW! This is a great story! The character development is fantastic, with an amazing cast of secondaries. An exciting, action packed, and well written storyline flows effortlessly. Simmering chemistry leads to explosive sexy scene goodness, and well placed humor had me laughing hard. Michelle Grey does a brilliant job writing twists & turns that remain suspenseful until the killer is revealed, and as many times that I thought I had guessed the killer, I was way off base. The emotional pain of the characters seeped through my kindle, and I physically felt their pain, while the dual POV made it more powerful. Convergence is the story of Tori and Jack - a storm chaser and a FBI agent. Jack is hunting down a serial killer who has already killed four women. It appears that Tori is next on his list so Jack sets off to try and prevent another murder. What he finds is a mixed up and broken woman who calls to everything that he is. Will they have their HEA or will her dying upset their plans?!
This story is heavy on the connection/romance between Jack and Tori, but not so much on the stalker side of it. It is almost like that part was secondary to Jack and Tori's story, which surprised me as it is listed as suspense. I personally would have enjoyed to hear more about how he managed to stay ahead of the FBI, what made him choose that specific woman out of all of them, etc.
This is the first book that I have read in this series, although it is apparently number three. Each book can be read as a standalone. This being book three in no way diminished my enjoyment of the story or the characters. Well-written, with a steady pace, and no editing or grammatical errors that I found. Recommended.

I personally would have enjoyed to hear more about how he managed to stay ahead of the FBI, what made him choose that specific woman out of all of them, etc.

Let me start by saying I was really excited when the email came through asking if I wanted to review this book. I am generally not a big romance fan but Michelle Grey throws in so much mystery and suspense that it is like really good TV - you just can't look away- and this book was no disappointment.
I sat and read this staying late up into the night because I just could not put it down. The characters are passionate but flawed and their problems are real. OK so the whole serial killer is not an every day type problem but their regular life problems could resonate with so many people.
If you like romantic suspense pick even a little bit then pick this up. You won't be sorry!

Convergence by Michelle Grey was exactly that...a merging or moving toward uniformity or meeting place. As a storm chaser Tori personifies the storm while Jack and his tumultuous past try to quiet and define everything. Easier said than done since Tori does not want a “partner” nor does she want to face the actual eye-of the-storm, as it were. But, a killer in their midst has other ideas. All of the intertwined characters, their pasts and their passions and their actions and re-actions make for a very wild twister of a ride. One tends to wonder if anything good can come out of this meeting of such a varied conglomeration forces, good and bad. It's a good gut twisting read with a satisfying conclusion.

This was my first book by Michelle Grey, but I don't think it will be my last! I love a good thriller and Convergence did not disappoint. There were so many different elements in this book; storm chasing, meteorology, FBI, substance abuse, tragic family histories, but they all came together to make a fantastic story. I am not a fan of storms and have never watched any storm chaser shows, but I was drawn into the excitement thru Michelle's writing. She included characters with flaws and issues many of us can relate to, plus weaves in suspense, romance, intrigue and humor to draw you in and lead you to a happy ever after. I will be looking for more of her books in the future!

This was the first book I've read by Michelle Grey, but it won't be the last. Her writing is solid, her characters are well drawn, and her plot is intriguing. Kudos to her for a fabulous story and choice of excellent editors. This book is devoid of the numerous typos and bad grammar seen in so many of today's releases. Ms. Grey not only wraps up the suspense in a satisfying manner, she also resolves the relationship of the two protagonists with promise for the future. All in all, this was a highly satisfying read.
