The cruelest secondchance at love.

My soul shattered the day I left the city for a quieter life.
Gatlin Falls promised anonymity. A place where I could be just the new girl, not the broken girl.
I tried so hard to keep my head down and my walls up.
But the thing about small towns is that eventually someone gets too close, and feelings come into play.
Dormant feelings.
Ones I fought so hard to keep at bay.
Cue, Banks Gatlin. The third brother of six and frustratingly persistent.
The one that kissed me without an introduction.
The one that had my heart skipping and wracked with guilt every time he smiled.
And the one that received his second chance at life the day my first love lost his.

This book destroyed me in the best way.

Raw, emotional and so very real, I felt every moment of this book.
The chemistry between Simone and Banks is incredible, that first meeting *chefs kiss* and where I declared Banks as mine.
The push and pull, addicting. The revelations, mind-blowing.
The grief, heartbreaking. The healing, so incredibly beautiful.

Vi Summers killed this. Your Echo, is a heartfelt romance worthy of a Hallmark movie, a book I'll cherish, and reread often. A top read of 2023.

This is...hands down, without a doubt, 1000% the best book I've read this year. This one hit close to home on multiple fronts. I laughed my ass off in parts, and I cried my eyes out in others. This book is full of "heart", full of emotion, full of laughter, full of healing, and just simply beautiful.

The banter between these two is probably the best I've ever read. The back and forth provided levity to balance out the serious nature of the story and the struggles of the characters. The emotions were real and raw. I have no doubt this book will stay with me for a long time to come.

An absolute 5🌟 read!

All the feels from grief through to sadness and tears, changed up with full-on explosive laughter and snickering, Vi Summers will give her readers a full tour of their feelings with this first book in her Gatlin Brothers Series, YOUR ECHO.

I know this to be true, because this was me while reading this truly amazingly written book that captured me from front to back, and everywhere in between. The pairing of Simone and Banks as a reverse Grumpy-Sunshine with a side of He-falls-first, means that YOUR ECHO made it into what will be one of my top ten reads for 2023.

My heart broke for Simone’s private hell – the sudden death of her fiancé and the debilitating grief she continued to deal with afterward. TW’s aside, Ms Summer’s wrote her POV with sensitivity and understanding, and she took her role as an advocate for Simone seriously. Not only did she suffer that great loss, but also betrayal at the hands of his parents soon after, all of which got on top of her. Kasey, her best friend was an amazing secondary character, supportive yet non-judgemental, and as crazy as a bumfull of Smarties!!! Just what Simone needed, and even better to know that she caught the eye of another Gatlin brother.

Simone’s first impression of Banks was to label him as a handsome eye-catching psychopath, and maced him with pepper spray in a hilarious scene of mis-understanding. On his part, he was instantly smitten and was determined to make it into her good graces, whether she wanted him there on not!

Holy crap on a cracker but I loved Banks so freaking much!! Impulsive, honourable, open and honest, he was the whole damn package! His new thing was to seize the moment, which usually meant getting himself into some trouble, but his charm easily mitigated most circumstances, and I loved every moment that he was on the pages. His patience and determination to unconditionally take care of and to ultimately love Simone is everything that makes a successful romance, and when it is paired with a heavy chemistry between the characters topped with a heavy dose of heartbreak and angst, then it made for an epic read.

Such beautiful words maketh this book great. Check one of my favourite quotes from Banks to Simone; and her reply *sigh* 💕

“You came into my world like a storm blowing in across the lake. Beautiful. Wild. Black and blue and utterly breathtaking. I love storms.” Understanding of my metaphor showed in her eyes, and her whispered reply melted me. “I’m growing to like the shore more with each passing day. Maybe even love it a little.”

If only the path of true love was as smooth as the writing of Author Vi Summers ...
Seriously, I loved this book so much and I can’t wait to be reading the next one featuring one of these sexy Gatlin Brothers!!! 5-Hella-Romantic-STARS ♥★ღ

Simone and Banks story had so beauty entangled with the sadness and they were really well written. Simone is living in a personal nightmare and is hoping a fresh start will help and Banks is dealing with his own but he can’t help what she brings out of him

That belongs in the assault category.

From the blurb I thought the heart situation was known by both parties...

Ok it's a shocking news I understand. Shocking enough to need space to think it through not instant breakupable tho

🫀🫀
The romance department was kinda icky for me. It's an okay book all in all. Didn't need to be that long.

Wowza! Where can I get one of those Gatlin brothers? Your Echo is the first installment in the Gatlin Brothers series and boy, if this one is this good, I can’t wait to read the rest. Told from dual perspectives it follows the heartbroken and lonely Simone Jamison and the larger-than-life Banks “The Kisser” Gatlin as he steals a kiss and her heart in the bargain. The story is located in Gatlin Falls where the people are friendly and welcoming and there is a yummy bunch of Gatlin brother bachelors ripe for the pickin’.

Simone Jamison escaped Denver for a fresh start on her own where she could reinvent herself after her boyfriend was murdered. On her first day in Gatlin Falls, she is kissed by a stranger who wanted to help her with her bucket list. Angry at his audacity, she avoids him at all costs, but he’s “an anti-gift that keeps on giving”. She just wants to be left alone, but he’s determined to show her how to really live. Will she be able to live a normal life and find love again?

Banks Gatlin is a force to be reckoned with. He lives life to the fullest after almost dying and he’s not taking no for an answer from the beautiful “new girl” in town who has captured his attention. Their first meet was a disaster when he screwed up, but he has never backed down from a challenge in his life. She has made his life happier and he’s not about to lose that or lose her.

Banks Gatlin…what can I say? He’s kind, he’s outrageous, he’s honest, he’s loyal, and he’s every girl’s dream of what a good man should be, but Simone won’t let him in. Her past is tragic and she inflicts pain on herself because he triggers her. But why? I laughed so many times at Banks’ antics and sly tactics to get his way. My heart melted when this man told his story and opened his heart in so many ways. The playful times when he told her to “run” as he chased her down made me smile and laugh. The times he makes Simone laugh and feel at ease after a fight or a sad memory is proof of a caring and compassionate man.

Simone believes Banks is an over-the-top psychopath with his cute smirks, his seductive hazel eyes, and his self-assuredness. I mean what grown man rides a BMX bike all over the place? Bank’s positive energy is just what she needs, but she still hurts for Reagan and she feels she is dishonoring his memory. Simone’s strength is subtle but effective. Moving many miles away from everything familiar, including her best friend, is proof to me that she is tough. Not to mention she has the tenacity to say no to a man who won’t back down. Simone has been through the wringer, losing her love, testifying against his murderer, and being blamed by her lover’s parents. She deals with her pain by cutting herself. A fact that Gatlin sees, but doesn’t judge. He accepts her as she is…scars and all. When the ball finally drops and fate shows its hand, she sees that only one heart belongs to her.

This book ruined me for any other. It crushed me, it inspired me, and it made me fall in love with two characters who totally deserved the best happiness and happily ever after life could give. The chemistry is “hawt” and Gatlin’s seduction is superb. My first Vi Summers novel is a keeper and I can’t wait to meet more of the divine Gatlin brothers.

Thank you to Ms. Summers for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a possible review.

When first starting this book I immediately felt this incredible feeling of relaxation—like putting on your comfy clothes. I knew this story was going to be a good one because it intrigued me and I loved the sense of fun, even at the beginning.

Your Echo is the first book in the Gatlin Brothers series set in The small town of Gatlin Falls. That’s the best news because there will be five more books to come. Yay! It is the romance between Banks Gatlin, the third brother in his family, and Simone Jamison, the new girl in town, and one that didn’t bode well at the beginning. 😆

Banks is one very upbeat, persistent guy who is resilient in his quest to get to know Simone. His approach might not be conventional in many ways but due to his determination you have to give him quite a few points. I really like him, he has a generous nature and a heart of gold. He feels things deeply and genuinely cares about others… it’s just that he acts before thinking at times. 😁

Simone is a character who, in my opinion, is very needy—but rightly so. Having lost the love of her life she is now floating in the breeze trying to find something to anchor her. Whether Gatlin Falls is the place or not I think she is very brave to move to an unfamiliar place and try to start over again. Banks could just be that anchor if she lets him. They certainly have lots of chemistry but of course guilt is a huge obstacle and an evil curse.

Although there are some extremely serious elements in this story with some agonising angst, there is some terrific humour too. With a character like Banks how could there not be? Then there’s Simone’s friend Kasey, who is a lot of fun too. To be fair all of the secondary characters are wonderful.

This story has a quirky but beautiful romance, some interest elements that make you think about real life issues, a great sense of fun and some intense drama-filled moments that make you read as fast as possible. I totally recommend it to all who enjoy stories that leave you feeling fantastic.

My poor little romantic heart barely survived this heartbreaking yet ultimately uplifting story.
It wasn’t just the storyline that had me totally captivated, cos let me tell you I just couldn’t put it down, it was the characters…they are so wonderfully real, raw and honest.
Banks totally lit up my day, it’s no wonder Simone couldn’t resist his charms….no matter how hard she tried! And boy did she try!!

Ms Summers has taken something so unbelievably painful and crafted something beautiful. Her writing is relaxed and so descriptive. I felt every bit of their pain, tears and laughter as I became totally invested in these characters and their story.

I don’t think the subject or outcome of this story is a surprise to the reader but instead the richness and enjoyment lies in the journey and growth that these characters take. It’s the wonderful banter, fun and closeness these two share and it’s the visuals that had me smiling….Banks on his teenage BMX, backies down the hill, the freedom and joy that can be found if you just allow yourself to let go….that’s what this story gave me…that sense of new life and discovery.

Then the supporting characters added another level of realism…Kasey oh my goodness, she is the ultimate light relief and absolutely deserves her own story…the brothers, I can’t wait to meet them all properly…

The ache in my chest eased as Simone finally gave herself over to fate, allowing herself the chance to embrace her happy ever after, without guilt or fear and Banks armed her with all the tools to do just that….including his unwavering love, hope and heart!

A brand new book in a brand new series and I devoured this book in 2 sittings. Simone has lost the love of her life and needed a fresh start so she rents an old place in Gaitlin Falls? The Gaitlin family grew up in Gaitlin Falls and we met 3 of the 6 brothers Reed, Leif and Banks. When Banks bumps into Simone he’s mesmerised by her but typically makes a terrible first impression towards the hurt and hostile newcomer in town.

Simone trusts no one except her pocket rocket best friend Kasey who keeps her grounded and gives readers plenty of laughs in the small parts she features. Little by little this story unfolds layer by layer with the perfect amount of angst, laughs, romance and chilli 🌶️ but I particularly loved the light and shade so delicately sprinkled throughout the book as my heart broke over and over for the pain that was felt and rejoiced over the love and touching relationships that was found including one with a special 4 legged Pepin 🐶.

This book flowed beautifully, was written with compassion, humour and humility and is one of my all time favourite reads! I can’t wait for the next books in the series to give me my next fix of the Gaitlin Brothers 🔥.

AMAZING!!! Some difficult parts to read at times but man it was perfect! I couldn’t put it down, I cried and laughed SO much!! This author is very special to me and I LOVED it so much!! (Plus… by accident or on purpose my name is in here and I LOVE that too!)

My goodness, my poor Simone; she was completely broken coming into a new town. I had no idea exactly what happened but I could feel the pain right from the beginning! I could feel her lost soul just walking around and not sure what to do. I cried a lot with her and from my past could even feel her pain.

Banks is something else entirely and it was incredibly refreshing! I loved the moments where he knew it was too heavy and the sassy they threw at each other was intoxicating to watch. He has a special place in my heart and I felt something big was coming!

I am giddy with the hope of so much more from the brothers that Banks has and I am already so in love with this town! I loved Pepin and the way she immediately clung to Simone. I laughed so much during this book it actually surprised me but I LOVED that aspect! I cried some and then laughed two or three sentences down. Great read!!!

Sometimes life gives a girl the cruelest second chance at love and this is her story. With a shattered, sorrow-filled heart, Simone leaves her home, full of loss and pain, in the big city for a new normal in the quieter town of Gatlin Falls. In attempts to keep her head down and her walls up, the inevitable happens… someone manages to get too close and new feelings spark. Dormant feelings coming to roaring to life when larger than life, Banks Gatlin, sweeps into Simone’s life with one kiss. He lives his life to the fullest after getting his second chance at life.

Your Echo is the first book in the new “Gatlin Falls” series by author Vi Summers. This book had everything a fan of small town, second chances at love romances could ask for; the hero falling first, second chances are given, troubled pasts, a romance that is slow to build, and main characters with a grumpy/sunshine vibe going on. As a new reader of Summers’s work, I can’t wait to see where this series goes next.

Your Echo
Given ARC for an honest and completely independent review and are my thoughts only.

OMG where do I start I laughed, I cried and I swooned what a wonderful start to the series and I really hope the next book is coming soon....wink wink.
So Simone has had a really bad time and her life is not at all what she expected to be but then she moves to a backward town in the middle of nowhere to start a fresh where no one know her or her back story.
But out too the blue and may I say a very handsome Banks kisses her about 10mins after she arrives in town.
So boy(Banks) meets girl(Simone) and falls very hard....and you could guess what comes next but yet you need to read this book....there is a number of scenes that make you melt but one at the waterfall is so romantic and just so perfect it would have to be my favourite one...hint hint need more of these scenes.
Do yourself a favourite grab this book and read it and feel it just like I did, can’t wait for next book.

What a a way to kick off the Gatlin Brothers series. Holy cow, this book will leaving you with a major book hangover, take you through all the emotions and leave your heart so happy at the end.

Simone has arrived in Gatlin Falls to get a fresh new start and leave some of her trauma behind. This proves harder than she imagines. Your heart will break for her as her story is filled with sadness, loss, despair and tough, tough moments of self discovery.

Banks is a hoot and will have you laughing at his antics, thinking he should chill out and loving him for his big ole heart. He is not subtle and it tends to get him in trouble.

Simone and Banks initial meeting is heartwarming, cringy and sets the tone for their relationship - fiery, spontaneous and filled with great banter.

This book is emotional, raw, filled with passion, amazing chemistry and the determination to move on. Fantastic read! Highly recommend.

This story is one emotional journey that will hold you captive to the pages. Simone and Banks story is all about second chances and healing. This story does have some heartbreaking and heavy moments but is well balanced with the lightness and humour that Banks brings. Their story had a real and raw feeling to it that had you forming a connection with the characters with such ease. This beautiful slow burn romance has a slight angsty feel to it that will have you on the edge of your seat at times. You will be taken on a ride of emotions which will have you smiling, crying, laughing and filled with anticipation. A small town romance that steals your heart.

Another astounding read from Vi!

I knew it was going to be an emotional read but my heart, it nearly stopped….several times!

From the moment that Simone bumped into Banks at the diner, their fate was sealed. And as soon as Banks kissed Simone my heart belonged to them as a couple.

As with all of Vi’s books you know you are going to get a great story, that’s full of raw emotion, angst and every other emotion you can think of.

I am so grateful to Vi, as always, for giving me the opportunity to read her work and as always it was amazing!

Simone is hoping the move will give her something else to focus on loosing a loved one is always hard and Reagan was the love of her life.
Banks is determined to enjoy life and not take anything for granted.
He's wanting to settle down and bumping into Simone could be fate, ticking an item of her to do list is certainly risky.
A beautifully written story that expressed love, loss and coping mechanisms.

I absolutely loved this book, and it's my favourite by this author. The characters had a hold of me from the start, with complicated back stories, a rollercoaster of emotions, and heartwarming moments. Banks was hilarious in so many ways, but also the guy we all want to have at our side. Simone, though fragile at times, deserved an HEA and I had my fingers crossed that Banks could provide it. I highly recommend this book, and also the others in this series. I'm hanging out for the next installment.

This story had me crying and laughing throughout. Simone and Banks feel like real people that are expressing their true emotions for the reader on every page. I felt Simone's grief so deeply and Banks hopelessness before his surgery. Their story is a slow burn that brings the reader along for the journey. Excellent book.

This was possibly one of hardest books I have ever read. Not because I didn’t like it, but because it called to me on a personal level.
Simone moves to a small town in an attempt to find her peace after grieving the loss of her fiancé. Simone is a broken shell, her pain is so deep she’s literally drowning in it and it’s so hard to bear witness to her desperation. She, like many others develop the unhealthy coping mechanism of self harm. This features a lot in this book so readers please read with caution if you are triggered by this. I applaud the author whole heartedly for how she has approached a very difficult storyline. She’s not only done it in a sensitively way, she’s done it in an authentic way. Giving voice and reason to those that have self harmed and helping disparage the misconception of ‘attention seeking’ and ‘cry for help’
In Simones journey to finding peace in her grief, she meets Banks who is also dealing with his own demons. Banks is immediately taken with Simone and upon discovering her secret, he vows to help her and support her whilst falling in love with her. Halfway through the book though you start to get a clear idea of what’s about to happen, and it adds to the angst as you find yourself dreading what’s to come.
All I can say is that this book is one that’ll inevitably stick with me for a long time.

Holy Emotional Rollercoaster!
Vi Summers you absolutely slayed me with this heartbreakingly beautiful story that will forever live rent free in my head and heart.
Banks and Simone's story about grief, healing and second chances was one I devoured.
From their chaotic and downright hilarious meet cute up until their heart-aching but healing HEA I could not put this story down.
Simone Jamison, is a broken woman who has just moved to town.
What she wants...... is a fresh start / a place to finally heal.
What she doesn't need..... is a man like Banks constantly inserting himself in her life.
Or..... Is he exactly what she needs???

Through Summer's words I could feel Simone's pain and conflict and damn it hurt. My heart was put through the wringer and I shed many tears for her (yes!! wine, chocolate and tissues were required).
But....
If anyone deserves a second chance at romance it is her (even if it is slightly cruel).
And...
Who better to find it with, a man like Banks.
Banks Gatlin is such a golden retriever hero and I instantly fell in love with him.
I adored everything about this man, his zest for life, his humour, the understanding and compassion he had for Simone, his sweet and caring nature, his banter game, and how he wore his heart and his sleeve.
The HEA journey for these two was not easy (just ask my heart and tear ducts).
It was real, raw, emotional, humorous, angsty and even though the chemistry between them was instantaneous it was still a slow burning / push and pull romance.

I loved and highly recommend this story.
These Gatlin Brothers sure are something special and can't wait for more of them.
And....
Am I hoping Simone's best-friend Kasey makes another appearance? Yes, yes I am.
Why? because everyone needs a friend like Kasey. She is absolutely hilarious.

Having read Ms.Summers's work before I've been wanting to read more of her books! As soon as this one was announced it piqued my interest right away and I knew I had to read it next. To Gatlin Falls I went. I enjoyed this story so very much!

Simone and Banks's journey pulled me in right from the very get go! Simone has been dealing with the unimaginable and moves to Gatlin Falls. It's there that her path crosses with Banks in quite the memorable way. Will she let Banks in? and can Banks be the person Simone needs in her life?

I really liked how the ball got rolling from the start and how quickly i got invested in Simone and Banks's story. My heart absolutely shattered for Simone and everything she went through. She tackles some tough stuff and her pain got to me. I adored how Banks wanted to be in Simone's life, how he cracked me up, and how cared about Simone.

The chemistry these two shared was so great! Banks and Simone's journey poured with realness that hit the soul on so many levels! It isn't easy and I felt so connected to both Simone and Banks throughout.

Sometimes a person can walk into your life and make their mark on it which showed through Banks and Simone's story.

I loved the Gatlin Falls setting and how I could picture it all so clearly in my mind. I adored what the Gatlin crew brought to the story as well!

With Your Echo, Ms.Summers has created such a great read that brought depth, unoqueness, heart, and all kinds of feels! She touched on subjects I don't see talked about often enough and it was refreshing. Her writing truly got to me. I can't wait to dive back into this world!

This story touches on sensitive subjects so please be sure to check the author's trigger warning.
