It is October of 1918 and for the first time in two years a British submarine will attempt to pass through the Dardanelles. The rendezvous is with a French submarine in the Sea of Marmara. Their aim is to destroy the Goeben, a German battle cruiser lurking menacingly in the Golden Horn at Constantinople. Nick Everard, who won a Distinguished Service Cross at Jutland and a Distinguished Service Order for his part in the raid on Zeebrugge, is told he must succeed at any cost so that Turkey will withdraw from its alliance with Germany.
Alexander Fullerton attended the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, at the age of thirteen. He served on battleships, cruisers, destroyers, and submarines and has written many novels about the sea in addition to the nine volumes of the Everard series.
