Having brothers is detrimental to my sanity. One is safely tucked away on the mantel behind my desk, his face not quite what it should be on the urn. My twin? Sad story that. Boy meets girl, boy falls in love with girl, and girl marries a Shifter. My twin ran away.

That leaves me to run the show and hunt down the Witches who just can't stop killing us.

We are also at war with the Shifters, who killed my oldest brother, and by order of the Gods Council, I'm not supposed to set one toe in Shifter territory. Only...

In Fire Ridge Pride, there is the most beautiful lion with black hair, an icy gaze, and a Roman nose that has never met a fist. He's sassy, sexy, and mine. Until...

My twin's actions come home to roost, leaving me with a shotgun wedding and a baby on the way. Someone decided to cancel my one chance at happiness, and here we are.

One positive. The Gods Council has changed their decision. I must find my dead brother, seek vengeance, and be Papa. And did I mention my sexy, sassy lion is also my new Archives librarian? It's a live-in position...

Dante is my new favorite. The world building is awesome. Jae never disappoints. Each character is always memorable. From Lou, who has grown into a wise king, and we get to see some of that here(even though he personally needs some help in the romance department) to Gio, who is hilarious. I love that this is another Pride and they are all connected in this plot. Chase and Dante are really good together when the demigods finally get out of the way. I love the normal reactions to real life situations, and it balances so well with the supernatural ones. Cannot wait for books 2. Definitely start with Lou and read FRP first. I miss that sweet southern deep charm Lou has, and really wanna smack Xeno for messing that up. And Camp? We need answers about Camp!

Dante

I did not understand this book. Perhaps there is back story I should read. It sounded interesting in the blurb though.

Complex and Intriguing

‘All of me desired Chase. Apricots mixed with Cardamom created a potent cologne.’

Jae Greyn’s Dante is the beginning of the spin-off series, Blood-Rights.

A maze of characters and their inner workings, gods, shifters, and magic wielders pull us down paths of conflict and ultimately towards the call of love.

This is my first Jae book, but you can bet it is not going to be my last, as I will now start where I should have, with book 1 in the Fire Ridge Pride series, Lou. The many crossover characters give this story meaning, and while I was able to appreciate Dante, King of Amber Light Pride, and Chase’s journey, Greyn is a detail oriented author, and I am sure I missed nuances of these felines and the Gods Council, and how the pursuit of happiness is challenged.

Each book gets better and better. I loved that almost everyone was in this one. It does take place during Remi and explains the other side of the story. The worldbuilding is phenomenal. The connection between Dante and Chase drew me in and had me wishing for a Dante in my life. Gio is hilarious, and Mel is an awesome female character. Cannot wait for the next book!

I could pick you out of a crowded room

First book in a new companion series called Bloodrights. This series is interconnected to the Fire Ridge Pride series and takes place alongside of book 4, Remi.

If you've read my past reviews you know that I always reread the previous book in the series before starting Jae's latest creation. This time not only did I reread Lane, book 7, but Remi, book 4, since this book runs parallel to Remi. I always enjoy rereading the stories because I always pick up something that I missed before or I see something that makes more sense, like hints of things to come.

The world building, as always, is out of this world... world building at it's finest. The characters have so much depth, you can tell how much thought went into the creation of each person.

This is not a light fluff read where you can skim through the book without much brain engagement. Oh no, your brain needs to be online, fully engaged and ready to dive in to this amazing world!

CAUTION: I wouldn't start with this series. You really ought to start with Fire Ridge Pride series book 1, Lou. I can't imagine this book would be enjoyable without the background of the characters that make up a big part of this story.
