"The Reflex Part 2: 2nd Book in The Reflex Series" written by the author Maria Denison is a captivating read. It hooked my attention from the first page itself. Reed, Nic, Cara, Sasha, Jake were all sitting together when they found out that Nic and Cara are gifted with the ability to communicate telepathically. Nic can hear her thoughts and can also project his thoughts to her. It's no magic but there is science behind it.
Cara tells Jake that she gets fleeting glimpses when she tries to read other people's thoughts. But Jake is completely closed. Jake told her that this is because he is blocking her. Cara, Nic, Jake explored each other's minds. Later, they found out Max and Mia communicate telepathically. If the siblings want to talk in front of their parents, they do it telepathically. Max admitted that he takes advantage of his talent. He figures out the next move of the players on the field using his gift.
Cara also sensed Reed's emotions. She discovered that Reed loves the intimacy they share. Read the story to know how all reveals will affect the relationships.
Before reading this book, one should read Book 1 in the series as it is not a standalone book. The book has lots of science information so readers from a science background could connect more with this book. The plot is fascinating. The book is well paced and I had a great time reading this book.

Amazing!! After reading The Reflex Part 1, I didn’t think it could get better. But it did! Denison once again wove a masterful tale of mystery, family, and lots of ~spicy~ romance. I 100% recommended you pick up this book if you’re looking for a new summer read!!

I unfortunately struggled with this one as much as the first one. I really wanted to like it! It still just felt like something I wouldn't have minded in a tv show but not as much in a book form.

The Reflex Series continues with this second instalment, and picks up directly from the cliff-hanger of the first book.
The first third of this book is heavy on scientific explanation and worldbuilding to explain the cliff-hanger from book one's ending, which made it harder for me to get into. The detailed explanation is necessary for understanding the cliff-hanger, but can be a lot of information to absorb and require a slower reading pace and revisiting certain parts.
Despite the slow start, the book quickly becomes a thrilling, action-packed page-turner. The combination of Harry Potter references, "found family" trope, and easy banter between characters was what I loved the most.
