Mayet Justice #8

Sinful Surrender

Rate this book
Archer Malone is my husband.

My rock hopper penguin.

He’s a homicide detective, and I… am a killer.

That one small detail has always been a thorn in our marriage.

But love does strange things to a man. And the actions once thought intolerable become bearable.

Which means, for now, I remain a free woman.

But secrets rarely stay hidden, and word tends to travel fast.

The identity of a r*pist’s killer is spreading. Now I’m left wondering if my time in Copeland City is coming to an end.

I still have work to do. Innocents to protect. And victims to find justice for. But with my freedom in question, Archer is determined to choose for us both.

No matter how much I want to stay, he’s already packing our bags.

Sinful Surrender is a Mayet Justice standalone and contains graphic scenes.

Part 8

3,5 😱💘💘🌟s

This part dealt less with the crime mystery but it had plenty of tension and angst!
The main focus was on Minka and Archer and Archer’s relationship with Fletch after the explosive revelation.
I will undoubtedly read the next!!!

Gaahhh this was so good! The plot line was such a surprise and had me in a chokehold from the beginning. I blasted through this book in one sitting! And Fletch?! I went from being mad at him to loving him again. So glad there’s another book coming in this series. Literally can’t get enough!

Best Mayet Book So Far!

This book is amazeballs! Archer and Minka, Tim and Aubree, Fletch and Sera and Moo, Felix and Cato, Soph… all of them plus a major life-threatening situation will have you reading all night, since you just won’t want to put it down.

Emilia Finn has a way of sucking readers in, chewing them up, and spitting them back out again… in a good way! Her books are always stellar, but she hit this one out of the park. If you are new to Ms. Finn, at a minimum, go back and start the Mayet Justice series from book one… then read everything else she has ever written. You won’t be sorry!

Surrender

Another great addition to the Sinful series. While Archer and Minka aren't really working a case in Surrender there's still plenty of action as they both are forced to navigate a life or death situation. Archer and Fletcher are still at odds although they're working through the latest revelation.

I'm absolutely loving the support characters. Archer's family, who he's been estranged from for 16 years is a hoot. Their personalities are so varied yet similar and despite himself l think Archer is glad they're around. Onto the next one.

🌟 BOOK REVIEW 🌟
Sinful Surrender by Emilia Finn
🎶 Trigger - Mississippi Twilight

What happen when your best friend in the world find out you and your wife’s deepest darkest secret. Walls are built and every thing crumbles. This was no different with Archer and Fletch. Their bromance has been a big part of this whole series and it was like we were dealing with a heartbreaking breakup throughout this book.

Minka and Archer found themselves in trouble, yet regret isn’t something they feel. Fletch is hurt because of the secret, most definitely not because of the vigilantes secret. The vigilante saved his baby, how could he be. Yet while this fight is over the span of the whole book, it’s not the most pressing matter.

When Minka who has a bleeding disorder is hurt, it’s deadly. It would seem Minka has no self preservation when held in a hostage situation. While Archer, becomes more intense, nearly homicidal. Guess that’s his Mafia roots coming through. Speaking of, I absolutely loved the family coming and supporting. The softness that we had seen from Felix this time was absolutely beautiful. I think we may have underestimated Felix and his love he can give.

Work is forgotten and the culmination of everything at the end may have led to a mess up. Per the Captains words, I’m not sure Archers job will ever be safe. Wonder how that will pan out now that the case is out their hands.

Definitely recommend but NEED to read in order!

Sinful Surrender is the 8th book in the Mayet Justice series by Emilia Finn, where the danger and drama hits much closer to home for our favorite crime-fighting couple! I swear, I think I devoured this book in a couple heart-pounding hours today while on vacation at the beach!! I was totally riveted by the emotional turmoil of broken trust, murder, mayhem, bank robbery, medical emergencies, visits from the Malones and Sofia, angst, and passion! All of our Copeland crew go through it in this one, with cases still needing to be solved. Will Minka and Archer’s secret forever change the fabric of the found family they have built? OMG! This book is amazing!! So much is going on with Minka and Archer, but I still found myself swooning over the tiniest moments with Tim and Aubree!!😍 I love them so much! I need them together so badly I can hardly stand it! Gah! Macho men and there need to make decisions for everyone are so annoying sometimes!!🤣 Anyway, if you haven’t started this series yet, RUN to your nearest device and download the first book, Sinful Justice, available on KU, and start there!! If you’re new to this author, strap in, you will want to read every other book she has written as well! The worlds she creates are just that good! I always finish a book thinking, ‘this one will be hard to top,’ but the next one ups the ante anyway!! Amazing!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

SOOOO FREAKING GOOOOOOOOODDD

Okay.. I literally blasted through this.. can I just say WHAT ON EARTH WHAT THAT! 😱 this was full to the brim of drama!! Had me clutching at straws not wanting to carry on as I was so distraught then I was hopeful then I was confused and laughed.. Minka high on pain meds is hilarious 😂 but seriously this series is juice after juice and the hood kind like coffee or rum.. you can’t stop because it is soooo captivating!! Aubree and Tim!! 😫 I knew he wanted to show her love and he really did and big love to Sophia coming in and helping save the day as always.. that woman’s the boss in all areas of life let’s be real! Oh my god I can’t wait for the next one.. so close yet so far 😬 OBSESSED!

Another #1 from THE EMILIA FINN

Mayet and the Malones! This book is #8 of the very best series. The only other series comparable is Emilia Finn OTHER series of books therefore you must read the ALL to understand. Emilia Finn is a special author with a special gift and she has given all of us that gift. If you don’t accept it, you are a fool.

The group of characters in Sinful Surrender are a somewhat dysfunctional family that just strangely works and grows as the series goes on. This book is packed with just how much Archer loves Minka and how much family truly means to this entire group no matter how psycho a few of them are. To understand this book you have to start with #1 so just do it. You won’t regret it. The Mayet Justice Series is just fire!!!!

I was jumpy and on edge

This series is different from the others although we see a few familiar faces. This book was a bit more suspenseful and our characters are going through stressful times but even during a very tense scene, I was laughing. I seriously read this in one day. I begrudgingly set it down to he responsible and feed the kids etc but i wanted to keep reading. I was even reading while on while was watching the pots boil etc. seriously read the series. And you'll be addicted too. Clean writing, everything flows right.

the good stuff

This is a hard one for sure. We have Minka in a hard position with her in the middle of a bank robbery. Fletcher and Archer still on the outs and everyone trying to figure out why. I feel like we are missing out on what these are about or what they started out to be. Minka is a medical examiner she deals with. Dead people. Archer is a detective who handles homicides and at times they work together. However this has been like a soap opera. When are we going back to the good stuff.

Oh, Fletch what will you do!?

Intense and heart achingly beautiful. Archer is glorious in all his alpha protectiveness. Minka is a force that doesn’t know how to put herself above others. Events snowball out of control and there are so many puzzle pieces that are just waiting to fall, and the outcome is edge of your seat, heart stopping! I always love reading about Copeland City and all the people that have become family. Another stupendous book by the master, Emilia Finn.

Sinful Surrender by Emilia Finn (Mayet Justice Series # 8)

After the emotionally charged somewhat cliff hanger ending of Book 7, I was ready to start reading "Sinful Surrender" book 8 in this series. Unlike previous books, this book could be read as a stand-alone book as a lot of background information was given to make the story flow. For the best reading experience, I would suggest you read all the books in order. The books in this series focus mainly on Minka and Archer and their relationship, but the supporting characters all have their hidden depths and baggage and I for one am very interested in finding out more. A great read.

Cops and mobsters and murders OH MY!

Archer proves once again why he is everyone's dream. The lengths he is willing to go to in order to protect his wife are admirable, to say the least. Minka again is out there doing boss stuff and proving that she is amazing. Tim and Aubree.... I'm gonna need more of then soon for sure! And our favorite due may or may not be back again. Already counting the days to the next release!

So, so good

Couldn't put the book down. This book was a nail biter and full of suspense. By now we are fully invested in these characters and I enjoy each and every one. I love this series; each book is like an episode in a TV series that you wait impatiently for the next one to see what enfolds.

This one was hard.

It was so sad! This story was hard to get through. Between the stuff with Fletch, Arch and Minka, Moo being sad because she was missing her family, and the whole bank thing, this was definitely the most heartbreaking part of the story so far. I'm so glad things were mostly better in the end.

5 ⭐️s On repeat…

I feel like I repeat myself every time I review a book in this series. Each one is just SO good! I read them in a day, and then I’m desperate for the next! I feel like I’m “watching” a crime drama (which, these books could easily translate into television). I have to say, I shed a few tears over the broken relationship, and I’ll leave it at just that (I don’t want to give any spoilers).

Fantastic read. Couldn’t put it down. This really is a great series. Archer was his typical alpha protector self as Minka and Aubrey got themselves in a pickle at a bank showdown. The feud between Arch and Fletch came to a head. There was a lot of action in this one. But why do they always need to talk about too much confidential info in public spaces?!? They are all too smart for that.

Emilia knows how to hook you. This is one of my favorite Mayet books. There is so much tension not only on the crime side but also just between the characters. Archer and Fletcher working together even though they are currently at odds was such a great plot point. The girls find their own struggle but the guys are the spotlight of this book in my opinion.

Arch and Fletch are my favs!!

Gut Wrenching Read

Another page turning thriller from Emilia. This is one of the best crime thriller series I’ve ever read. In the newest edition of Mayet Justice series, we see the fallout of someone finding out who the vigilante is and how it rocks most of Copeland.
