I really enjoyed probably about the first 30% of this book. I found it incredibly relatable and nice to see that someone else was feeling the same way that I have been lately. However after that, my enjoyment took a dive. The book becomes really preachy about self love and veers into toxic positivity territory. I wish the book had mainly stayed focused on the content that it had in the first part and I think I would’ve enjoyed this a lot more. I’m not a big fan of a lot of self love and toxic positivity stuff so this one was more of a miss than a hit unfortunately. Are we going through my highlights on adding notes for anyone a little bit more curious about where things went wrong :)

I don't think this style of poetry is for me, personally, but I can appreciate the talent this writer has! I also found myself identifying with a lot of the passages. I definitely get why a lot of people love it.

It’s a really good read. Getting taken on a journey of emotions from beginning to end is really impactful. You can see the authors change of perspective as the book progresses. 10/10 would recommend.

Loved that it was short quotes. felt easy to reside with and make sense of things i felt about myself and life that i hadn't yet been able to put into words.

This felt different than a regular poetry book. this was more of feelings poured out on paper rather than poetry crafted like the books that i regularly read.

Read this book a little while ago but it is a good book. The poems do hit home at points. A real thought provoking was “I would have never done it to you I guess that’s why it constantly hurts so much” and I PREACH that forever. Would recommend the book, easy read

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cannot express enough how much I loved this Poetry book. The author's writing style makes you read as if the poems were addressed to you, as the reader, as she write "you, your." The stories, expressions and feelings were extremely relatable and intimate. But as I read further into the book, I realized she was writing about herself- to herself. At one point during reading, I wondered how the reading experience would have been for me if i had read this a year or two ago. I probably would have bawled my eyes out because my personal experiences were still raw to me, and her words would have hit me harder. But as I am read this now, I can look back at my life and see what I have overcome. Instead of reopening wounds, the poems made me feel empowered. This book made me feel warm, and gently reminded me to push myself, and be kind to myself and those around me. Just like the cover, I felt like I was receiving a warm hug from the author herself. Her way of words, kindness showed throughout the poems. I need to buy a physical copy of this book and re-read it. 100 out of 10.

This collection was a really good deep look as the complexities of life as we journey through it.

Showing how you can feel like an outsider and isolated, yet be surrounded by people as you don't fit in by liking the same things they do.

How childhood trauma can make you feel fearful of fitting in or never feeling you've found your place and trying to be strong yet, feeling weak inside deep down and how trauma makes you grow up fast having your childhood less happy more sad times.

One really deep hitting poem about worth and realising how others treat you initially sets the tone of the relationship from the start and know where to not waste your energy alike a poem about friendships and relationships showing the complex ways friendship breakups can effect you even deeper than a romantic relationship it was really hard hitting because I relate so much to those aspects and think many of us can, it was a truly stunning collection to read.

Apparently these are also words I haven't said out loud. If you look at my kindle copy there are a lottt of highlights, I connected with this greatly. The things I highlighted are things I feel or things I think you should go by. Saying aloud that I related to this maybe more than I want to admit is strange because of just how deeply personal it is which is why some things I highlighted are public and others aren't. Highly recommend

I am glad I randomly found it because it has become one of my favorite poetry books.

amazing

Ive never read something that speaks so raw but feels so accurate. Everyone has their own experiences but the words written on these pages portray those thoughts and feelings perfectly.

I am biased because it’s my own book, but my words can resonate with so many different people who come from different backgrounds and stories. I love how my words can help people feel as if they aren’t alone through their life struggles.
