Life gets pretty boring when you can beat the snot out of any villain with just one punch.
Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problem—he just can’t seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on!
As the fight against the Monster Association big shots heats up, Class-S heroes find themselves locked in a desperate struggle, but Tornado is closing in on Gyoro-Gyoro’s main body! Meanwhile, Blackluster confronts Garo, while Saitama wanders the labyrinth where the Monster Association is hiding out.
Manga creator ONE first created One-Punch Man as a web comic, where it quickly went viral, garnering over 10,000,000 hits! Along with One-Punch Man, ONE also writes and draws another series called Mob Psycho 100.
Some of the best info we've gotten yet on Class S heroes and their role. Huge action pieces, helpful/informative developments in the plot and outstanding art. Blizzard, Tornado, Flashy Flash, Saitama, Superalloy Blackluster and Garo are all featured along with a new monstrous human introduced to raise the stakes. One of my new favorite recent installments that really helps push the story forward while also helping us understand some of the heroes better.
Really great world-building, excellent well-developed side characters, so much so that each one of them is as interesting as the main character himself. The story sorta stalls and draws out a bit with two random big monsters suddenly being introduced instead of focusing on Garou, but overall a solid 9.5/10.
The artwork continues to be extraordinary, especially when chaos ensues during kaiju-sized battles. Loads of sneaky fan service going on with Psykos but her final form is quite the sight to behold. As this volume builds up the battle and puts an end to pretty much every other battle where heroes were on the verge of defeat, you expect that what's to come by the hands of Tatsumaki is worth all this deus ex machina stuff.
New big bad on the cover. This time the character battles on the recap page. Child emperor vs water, Samurai vs black, Zombieman vs homeless and the blizzard squad vs pochi, my fave monster. Pig god vs Gums, Amai mask vs president ugly and Alloy vs Garo. A little intro into the creation of S class. Felt sorry for Zombieman and the heroes' losing. I liked how the mastermind was so easily outed by Tornado. It's interesting how Saitama quickly tamed Pochi and yet the new blizzard squad struggles. The sit command made me laugh. It was surprising Orochi was still alive, Saitama is losing his touch.

Finally some progress. This volume did not have the dragging out the story feeling getting to volume 25 had. Even if Satima was just here for comic relief while others did the hard heavy lifting it did not feel like he was being ignored. Blizzard had a bit of time to shine, even if she still trying to build a team with her as the leader. The art for the fights seemed cleaner with action.
I’m getting kind of annoyed with seeing every. Single. Fight. But hoping it’s getting to something larger! Lots of exposition this volume, loved seeing King again, also bonus chapter brought up the prophecy again so doesn’t appear to be something that’s going to be dropped!
I liked getting information on how they started the rankings. I also enjoyed seeing Tornado and Blizzards fights but seeing every fight that is happening is making this feel drawn out.
I was a bit underwhelmed with how easily Psycho lost but man the power on display for Saitama and Tornado was mind blowing, top it off with Garo’s ruthless persistence (does the Italian chef kiss gesture) , all around yet another stellar issue.
Can you blame a guy? The MA arc has been close to disastrous in printed form, with ONE all-but abandoning Murata to hold the fort with endless tete-a-tetes. Waiting a year for a Volume to release is an exercise in tedium, but blasting through them on the Shonen Jump app? Well, it greases the wheels somewhat.
The irony of this is that I decided to look ahead just as the story moves into its final stages. There's enough detail and forward momentum to suggest ONE's more-committed return to the writing chair, and the result is one of the most enjoyable instalments in almost ten volumes. The balance of Saitama into the larger story seems to have reached a pleasant equilibrium, and one that even hints at a change in his universal circumstances now that other people are beginning to take note of his power. Psychos isn't much of anything just yet, but her presence signals a much needed escalation in the battle. Garo exceeding his limits against Blackluster is the return to the fray that the character needed after a limp return in Volume 25. And I say it every/goddamn/time but Murata is smoking some weapons-grade shit, and this book features arguably his finest work yet, with grand, epic full-page panels and intense shading.
It's a shame that the general unwieldy shape of the material still means that paperback distribution utterly murders the pacing. Volume 26 starts to lower its foot on the gas, but runs out of pages before it really starts to cook. If not for this, I'd be happy to rate this one even higher. As it stands, it's a solid thumbs up, albeit one tempered by the knowledge that the real fireworks are yet to come.
Honestly this series is one of the best out there, like no other series is this constantly good, it goes from good to great so often it's crazy.
And this volume is no exception, this monster society arc has been going for ages now and it still feels fresh with every page, Garou seems like he's passed his limit and is finally going to monsterise, it's weird a villain changing like this usually we have a great build up for a hero, so to have a villain do it instead is something new.
We also have a bunch of heroes being awesome, I love that Saitama is just riding around a cave cart whilst the rest of the heroes are fighting for there life and he's just enjoying the ride and messing monsters up on the way.
Tornado has to be the highlight of this one though, she is a absolute monster, everyone is quiver around her and she's just wrecking them. We have a new psychic for her to fight and she just starts running but that doesn't stop Tornado.
If I had one critic of this series it would be releases are very slow, I understand the art if fantastic so you don't want to rush it but I don't understand why the volumes are so slow to come out. This is the second volume we've got this year and the chapters could give us another 2, it's chapters from March 21 so I don't quite understand the delay but as I said I love this series and it's worth the wait.
More big battles as the Hero and Monster Associations go head to head. In this volume we see many heroes are facing real challenges as the baddest of the big bads come out to face their heroic counterparts. However not all of the heroes are having a hard time as their battles have just begun like the appearance of Psychos who is able to stand against the Terrible Tornado, Tatsumaki while Superalloy Blackluster has just begun to understand why the hero hunter has proven to be a pain for those that have faced him in the past.
As for those that complain there is not enough Saitama in his own series I am happy to report not only is he making trouble on his way through the underground monster lair with Flashy Flash but one of his defeated foes is not quite beat yet leading to a potential future fight but we'll have to wait and see. :)
The S- Rank Heroes are going toe to toe with some dastardly villains! I am loving some of the fight sequences. As stated in previous reviews...when the battling gets this intense, the pages flow and the less dialogue makes me complete these books at a much quicker rate. It is so much fun to read and I know I will be rereading all these volumes in a couple years...but I wish it was taking me a tad longer to complete. That said, there is absolutely no drop off in quality or enjoyment. The history of the Hero Association takes place in this volume and I find it very refreshing. Garo vs. Superalloy Blackluster is especially enjoyable in my opinion!
The little 'monster tour' was a fun idea and let Saitama shine for a moment. The battle between Tornado and the new psychic challenger was engaging. The discussion around how class was determined before, it's repercussions, and it's impact on the Association in current day added some great worldbuilding. I don't feel super connected to most of the characters in this manga, though, and I'm a very character-centric reader. This series is plot-focused and I'm starting to think I should have just skipped the manga to watch the anime exclusively.
This was a pretty great volume, with a whole lot of stuff going on. Both action, and humor. Saitama is getting closer and closer to the big bad, along with Flashy Flash who’s starting to figure out Saitama is no slouch. Tornado is fighting the real villain of this arc, who turns out to be a hot lady in glasses with psychic powers. Meanwhile, Garo is fighting Blackluster, and has made it clear he wants to be defeat both heroes and villains, since they’re all hypocrites, which is fair.
I liked volume 26. The visual spectacle in One-Punch Man Vol. 26 continues to stun with extraordinary artwork in the chaos of skirmishes of different levels. OPM maintains such commitment, and this volume is no exception.
Amidst these battles (including one funny train trek stage with Saitama and Flashy Flash), Psykos weaves her way into fan service moments, adding a layer of action-packed battles and entertainment. As the volume builds towards a much-anticipated battle with Tatsumaki.
Feels like ages since I have read the last volume. But, didn't take me more than a second to back on the track. As usual this had explosive artwork and good humour. Battles are at high stake. Saitama shall will by the end, but no conclusive battle yet. I wonder how far it will be dragged. Since I am still liking it, I don't mind.
This volume was an improvement from the previous one. It was nice to see Super Alloy Blackluster in action, although I have this lingering feeling it's a racist caricature. The side story with Saitama and Slashy Slash is pretty hilarious, especially with him finally finding wealth only to lose it again.
Tornado is coming closer to discovering Gyoro-Gyoro’s true form however she gets distracted by someone else lurking deep down a human psyche who is a member of the monster agency. Meanwhile Blackluster fights Garo and does very well as he practised with Bang so he knows how to fights against anyone using martial arts.
Saitama and Flashy Flash continue their search for the Monster King. Tornado battles another psychic. Miss Blizzard, Bang, and Bomb fight a monster dog. Garu evolves. King accidentally rescues a hostage. #Edelweiss+
