Drawn to supernatural, romance, fantasy and science fiction, L.S. loves to incorporate a little bit of it all in her writing.
I started this book and ended it in 1 day. Which is saying a lot. Considering a book I’ve been reading threatened to put me in a reading slump.
I reviewed the previous books in this series and my views remain unchanged. It’s a really enchanting series. I loved all the character. Serenity, Kang Dae, Rielle, Jung Seo -all of them and is very excited about what will be the story for Rielle and Jung Seo.
I was really appreciative of the fact that Katsuo was not a black & white, pure evil guy. He was grey evil guy. Meaning, you could understand and sometimes pity and even, dare I say, empathise with his motives. I love that because humans aren’t perfect. We don’t just wake and choose to be a villain or we’re not villains all the time. So I loved that the villain had complexities.
Loved the plot and the intertwined stories. It was a most satisfying conclusion to the build up war between Katsuo and Kang Dae.
Sidenote. You know your villain is written well when you not only don’t want him to lose, but you’re hoping the H is able to settle things amicably so that you can see more of him in the story. Katsuo jumped off the page and was just electric in every scene he was in. Ok! Mans was hot. If Ms. Bethel wants to find some way to make it so we get a book about him with a little redemption arc (He can go find Jae Hwan, I liked them together and I do want her to get her happily ever after too! Plus, let’s be honest, she was the real brains behind the victory when Serenity just want to charge in gun blazing) I would not be mad at it.
So I binge read all four books. I COULD NOT PUT THEM DOWN! I tend to read the smuttiest of smut, but it's nice to take a break from that sometimes. I would describe the love scenes as gentle and warm, not steamy and temperature rising. Which was perfect because your really delved into the romance and love between the two mcs. This is a series of action, adventure, romance, twists and turns galore. Absolutely amazing world building. I do have some questions that may get answered in the final book of Kang Dae and Serenity. I cannot wait to get my hands on it. Throughout the series, there's a few typos, but probably would have been missed however I can be hyper focused on those things. They didn't detract from the story at all. I highly recommend this series. I yelled out in excitement, I cried, I kicked my feet in the air from joy. I'll be sad once it comes to an end because rare is the treasure of amazing writing that comes this way for a black heroine and an asian hero. Good job Ms. Bethel.
Please miss Bethel, I need the 5th book NOW !!! I love how whole this series was. I'm not a huge fan of smutty book because they tend to stray from the plot and get all messy. This book was beautiful!! The Christian representation was AMAZING!!!!!! Yeah! I'm going go ask God for a Kang Dae now!!!!
WRITE THE NEXT ADVENTURE ASAP BECAUSE I JUST MAY DIE IF I DONT KNOW WHATS GONNA HAPPEN BETWEEN RIELLE AND JUNG SOO 😭😭😭😭😭
I thoroughly enjoyed this latest addition to The King’s Seer. I smiled, I frowned, I gave an Arsenio Hall “whoop” after the battle. I started reading it and didn’t stop until I was finished. Now, I’m just waiting for the final addition! Hopefully the wait won’t be too long!
This Series was MAGNIFICENT. Bethel is a GREAT storyteller. Layers upon layers with great characters. The villains were true to the word. The MC's love was beautiful, picturing you as them. This story had me longing, or should I say, not wanting it to end. This story was written so beautifully. It seemed as if looking through a spyglass... WOW
This one is a page turner. It makes you stressed, nervous, I literally squealed a few times, but it IS worth finishing. Although I hate when they're separated, at least they were in the same world this time? This book focused more on the action, adventure and relationships than romance, but there is some more brewing.
Bethel did a great job with weaving a nice conclusion to the war though all is not finished. I was excited to see there is one more story and hope to get the love story between Rielle and Jung-Soo.
I liked the finale of the series. It was rough reading it because the couple was apart for all of book 4 until the end but it was still good. However, I’m glad that it’s over. It was intense.
The love was good, the fight was difficult, the experience was a teaching had painful lessons. The reunion was filled with more than love and trust between the main characters as the sadness encounter them. It was action pack and I love the series.
