Damage features Remi & Sienna's story, an enemies to lovers, forced proximity romance!

I'm the reason he died that night.
Everyone says I'm not, but I know the truth.
I'm unlovable. Hell, I can't even keep a friend for long. How did I ever think someone could love me?
When I'm asked to go on a ski trip, I know I should say no. I shouldn't be there. I don't deserve to be.
And it turns out, I'm right. Disaster strikes. I end up stuck in a snowstorm with the last person I ever expected to have to share a bed with. He doesn't let me hide when I want to, he's too nice, too understanding, and he drives me crazy.
How can he see beauty in me when all I see is ugly?
The boy who reminds me in every way of the boy who broke my heart.
The boy I have to stay away from.
Before I destroy him too.

All books will be standalones, and while the series will be more enjoyable if read in order, the books can be read as complete standalone stories.

She needed therapy way before the epilogue
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the writing or the storytelling here but personally, I did not enjoy the book because I really did not like the main character Sienna. I kept waiting to warm up to her, but for me, there was nothing likeable about her. She was mean, she was nasty and she threw tantrums like a three year old, none of which are redeeming qualities in a friend let alone a girlfriend. Lots of people have less than ideal home lives, but don’t take that out on everybody in their orbit! Why Remi persisted with her I do not understand. Life’s too short to spend it with people you don’t care for, especially people who don’t want you to care for them.

I’m new to Lyssa Cole but I’ll be going back and reading more of her work. This is not an easy read, Sienna is not an easy character to like. But I think that is the point, Remi is so easy to like, he’s truly a golden retriever boyfriend (God I hate that term) and Sienna needs so much help that he is simply drawn to her.
Sienna has never had an easy life, not wanted by anyone she’s ever loved. The one family member who ever showed her love is quickly being taken from her by Alzheimers. The one boy she dared to love dies while in the process of dumping her, telling she’s too much to deal with. This girl really has it hard and yes she definitely needs therapy way earlier than she gets it but with no one ever caring enough to help her get that therapy prior to Remi, you can understand the delay. Personally I’m surprised she didn’t consider other dire options during her terrible life.
Remi is a beautiful human, there’s simply no other way to describe him. Despite his disbelief in love, caused by a childhood hurt, he actually gives so much of himself to everyone and it’s not until Sienna that he wants something more than with previous girls. His mother’s advice wakes him up to his true feelings.
Together these two balance the pieces that are broken between them and it makes them both into whole and better people.
Romantic, a bit spicy, some tough times with friends and a winding road to healing for a HEA.

I received a free copy and this is my honest review.

This is book three of this series, told in dual first person POV and will have you feeling all the emotions and swooning over Remi and Sienna!

I love this series and even though she likes to rip my heart out and put it back together again, I love all of Lyssa Cole’s books that I’ve read so far! Be sure to have the tissues, it’s not a tear jerking as Collide but it is a runner up.

Remi had me swooning with his nickname for Sienna and all the sweet things he did for her. I love that he was against relationships and love until he ran into Sienna and something in her sparked his savior complex. I love how close and considerate he is with all of his friends and his family.

I honestly didn’t think I would feel so connected with Sienna with how she was in previous books, but this story. Man. I felt her pain on a level I didn’t expect. We had a lot of the same feelings and thoughts. I knew she had a story, but this background of hers…I would’ve never guessed it. She was definitely the underdog (and I always root for the underdog). I enjoyed seeing how she handled the conflicts thrown in her path and how, with the help of Remi, she grew to be the person she was always meant to be.

I’m so excited to see more of Sierra Cove and see the past characters and how their lives are progressing.

If there was an unbroken piece of my heart after reading Collide it broke while reading Damage. Damage was an emotional whirlwind and I was pulled in from the first page . We know Sienna as the drama queen girlfriend from Collide and now in Damage we see her side of the story . Sienna leads a hard life and she has a lot of an emotional baggage and mental health issues . If in Collide the theme was grief and loss , in Damage we get a first hand experience with anxiety and copping with it on top of grief and guilt . The loss of Mason just adds to it and put on top of that the guilt she feels and we see her totally broken and barely surviving. At such a down point Remi meets her and sees a part of her that no one does . Remi is a goodhearted and is trying to help her . He also invites her to a ski vacation . But on the way to the lodge there's a snow storm and they are stuck in a hotel for a few days. They get to know each other more and to become friends .The banter between them is so sweet and witty. When they arrive at the lodge Sienna understands that Remi didn't tell the others that she's coming with him . Sienna feels betrayed and leave . And after that she finds the courage and the strength to meet all her issues and to deal with them . When they meet again they clear all misunderstandings between them and are stronger together than ever. And with Remi by her side she became the better and healthier version of herself. Remi and Sienna's story was so heartbreaking and I was so glad that they found their happiness together at the end .

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange of an honest review .

Damage is Book 3 of Lyssa Coles Sierra Cove series this book does have spoilers for previous books, and I strongly advise reading in order of series.
Sienna can't seem to catch a break in life and just seems like damaged goods at this point her boyfriend dumps her and then tragically dies, loses her job and friends, and her awful grandmother is well, awful.
Remi is a healer, a good soul, and always seems to be in the right place at the right time to try to help Sienna right when she needs it the most. But will it be enough for Remi to see through Sienna's damaged mask and really see her?  A little bit of a  🐌 🔥 but the tension is great.  I loved Remi and his patience and understanding so much.
Tropes included are enemies to lovers, forced proximity, one bed to share, and being stuck together in a snowstorm.

Sienna doesn’t feel worthy of anyone’s love with the life she’s been dealt with. Only one person truly loved & that person was taken away.
She’s holding so much guilt inside.
Remi was basically happy with everything in his life, but he did not believe in love because of his previous experience. But sienna changed that in him.
And he changed her.

Prepared to have your heart and emotions pummeled because this book is rich with intense emotions and heartache. There is a raw honesty to this story that makes for a very powerful read that cuts deeply. My heart absolutely shattered for Sienna because I could personally relate to her on so many levels. As for Remi, how could you not love him because he was not only an amazing book boyfriend but a genuine good man. Together, well together, their broken pieces fit together beautifully to create a couple that offers up a boatload of feels. This my volitional, forthright review.

The heartache and despair continue in this series as this time Sienna and Remi try to come to terms with the chaos that has been their lives. Sienna is so sad and grief stricken and all Remi wants to do is make her smile and be happy. As they get caught up in a snow storm, they get to know each other and find themselves falling for each other. Further chaos keeps them apart, but true love can not keep them apart. I love how they complement each other as their relationship develops. Another emotional, great read!

This easy to read but highly emotional story, is the third book in the Sierra Cove series. Sienna is the ex-girlfriend of Mason who tragically died in the book "Collide". She is in mourning, damaged, unhappy and has low self-esteem. Everyone seems to hate her and blames her for Mason's death. Remi sees Sienna for her true self and sees the reasons for her brash, outspoken and hateful behaviour. I love how Remi slowly begins to make Sienna happy and gets her help for her bad behaviour. I loved this story and how it sends the message that everyone deserves to be loved and that there is always underlying causes for outrageous behaviour. I received an ARC for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed this enemies to lovers story. I really feel the only reason they were enemies is because Sienna has a lot of baggage. While Remi has baggage too, he handles it much better than Sienna. The way they come together is sweet and I wish we had more of a view into the relationship as the story went on. However, I was pleased with the ending!

Wow, this was Enemies To Lovers, Close Proximity and Small Town Trope.

Please make sure you sit down with box of tissues and a cuddly teddy. I needed that haha.
Lyssa really knows how to write a book, that will tear your heart out and then eventually put it back in full of love.

This book covers mental health, so please read triggers..
Sienna was so broken, she didn't seem redeemable. Life has been cruel to her, all her life. Ones that should love her aren't there for her and then she suffers a loss on top of this. Being a mental health suffer, I know how if things don't get seen to and keep building on, it's very hard to see world full of sunshines.
So her behaviour is very understandable, even if not likable. It was so raw and emotional.
Oh my, Remi, Remi, Remi. Such a sweetheart. His heart is so big and I just loved him.
He has his own demons and doesn't believe in love.
With Sienna he felt a connection and wanted to help her, save her.
He was so resilient despite her efforts of trying to hurt him. When he thought love doesn't exist, it came and hit him in the heart in the form of Sienna.
This story was well researched and eventually road to recovery for Sienna was in sight because of the wonderful support from Remi.
This was such a beautiful, heartbreaking, emotional, loving, fun and love with some steam.

Loved this whole series. Can't wait for more from Lyssa Cole.

I had mixed feelings before I started reading this book because I wasn't a big fan of Sienna. I wanted to give her a chance though. Sadly I was not a fan. She had a rough life, I will give her that. But instead of picking herself up and trying to do better she just went with the flow. She threw temper tantrums like a toddler. She screamed, ranted, and stomped her feet. My end game with her wasn't even the destruction she caused but the fact that she couldn't even be kind to Remi off the bat. Seriously he was bending over backwards for her and she couldn't even say thank you. He paid for everything without even asking her for anything but a smile.

Remi was the kindest guy ever. He gave Sienna a chance when no one else was willing to. He was kind to her and went out of her way to put a smile on her face. And unfortunately because of all of that he put all of them in a not so good situation.

Unfortunately this book was a miss for me. As I said, I wasn't a fan of Sienna. And even though she was better by the end, it took the ENTIRE book for me to think better of her. Unfortunately I still couldn't like her.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "DAMAGED" OMG!!!! This story hooks you right from the start so full of emotional turmoil, intrigue, heartache, loss, angst,
grief, steam, hatred, verbal & emotional abuse, it pulls at the heartstrings breaking your heart, you can't put down till finished.
SIENNA'S home life makes you want run away her Grandma Louise is the most horrible human being treats her like dirt under your shoe, tells she was never wanted since the days she born, only her Grampa AL shows her love, plus dealing with the loss of her boyfriend Mason who broke up with her the night he died, she blames herself *thinks everyone else does also.
Remi's mom raised him, his 2 sister & brothers on her own his dad walked & left them something he'll never forgive him for, he goes to Masons grave where he sees Sienna who is rather hostile towards him she such b*chy girl he doesn't know what her problem is, then she has a panic attack he helps her aware if what it is because his sister has them as well, he calms her then leaves but he waits to give her ride home they snarl at each other the whole way.
Remi invited Sienna on the Ski trip to Lake Tahoe with his friend at guest she say no then has an all out Brutal fight with her grandma & agrees to go with but disaster strikes on the way a heavy snow storm they have stay in a hotel to ride it out, getting to know one another, Sienna seems to loosen up & laugh a little which makes Remi happy to see.
I definitely recommend to get this heartwrenching emotional romance "Sienna & Remi take you on quite emotional journey, she worries about him being to much like Mason, doesn't want him to break her heart, or she worries about destroying him like Mason, better to let him go first, can these two get a HEA its a must you don't want miss reading you so won't be disappointed.
AWESOME HEARTWRENCHING ROMANCE 🖤 🖤 🖤 🖤 🖤

Reading this book was emotional and heartwrenching. Sienna’s inner struggles with grief, guilt, self-worth and anxiety have deepened since the death of her ex-boyfriend. Her self-blame and self-imposed isolation is her way of punishing herself and it is slowly draining the life out of her. With addict mother and a very critical grandmother who couldn’t care less about her as well as no real friends to speak of, she has no one to turn to for help or support. Her nasty attitude is a defence mechanism to keep anyone from getting close enough to hurt her again. Sienna is shocked when Remy, a friend of her late boyfriend, helps her during a panic attack and invites her on a ski trip with more of her ex’s friends. Having a sister with an anxiety disorder, Remy knows that her antagonism, anger and general nasty attitude are results of Sienna’s struggles with anxiety and depression. Despite her reputation of being a mean girl, he can’t not try to help her. He didn’t expect to feel a strong connection to her, the need to pull her out of her downward spiral. Sienna is surprised that Remy sees her, the real her, and that he wants to help. Going on the ski trip with him suddenly seems the right thing to do, but she doesn’t know that Remy didn’t tell his friends that he invited her to come along. When a storm strands them more than an hour away from their destination, they are forced to share a room with only one bed. Secrets are revealed and their bond grows stronger, but troubled waters are ahead.

This book was both captivating and inspiring. The author has handled the topic of mental illness with great insight, perception and compassion. I look forward to reading more books written by this author. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Due to her past Sienna resorts to self destructive behavior which make it hard for others to like her let alone understand it. She is struggling after the death of her ex-boyfriend and has no support system to help her deal with the devastation she is feeling but she never expected that the one person who would be there for her for a friend of her ex.

Although Remy has a difficult past of his own, he is the one person who takes the time to see past Sienna’s actions to the reasons. Forced proximity brings them closer however there is a lot of healing to be done if they are to have a future together.

This is an emotional story about two people who bear the emotional scars of their past. The interactions between them are entertaining and I enjoyed seeing the growth that Sienna experienced.

Everywhere she looks Sienna is surrounded by heart ache and hatred, Whether it is self inflicted or family based, she runs through each day with less and less feelings of worth. Remi has also had his share of loss but he sees something in Sienna that only Mason saw. Can Remi make everything right in her world again? Or will the relationship just hurt all the others that are in their group? Filled with page after page of heart wrenching interactions, Lyssa Cole piles on the hurt before she extract the good and piece by piece makes everything right with the world. It was a difficult topic of death and mental health but she does it with such honesty that the reader cannot hope but find happiness at the end.

Remi and Sierra’s story, wow it was an emotional rollercoaster. Sierra has had such a hard life and then dealing with all the emotional baggage with the loss of Mason is just one more thing that she wasn’t expecting to deal with at her age. Athena we have good hearted Remi, someone that she had crossed paths with before at the university but now they are just running into each other. They have just gotten underneath each other’s skin and have formed this unique relationship. Watching them become friends and have it develop into something more was a beautiful thing. He helped her heal in many ways. They had a great banter between them. They had some hurtles to overcome but once they got it figured out they were stronger than ever. I’m so glad they got their happily ever after.

I really enjoyed Sienna and Remi's story! I loved how much emotion and angst was packed into their short story. Remi was such a sweetheart and he had so many swoony moments. Sienna was lucky to find him! I really didn't click with Sienna at first, honestly I didn't like her bad attitude towards everything. I did feel for her with her living situation and upbringing but it wasn’t till almost the end when I finally started to like her. I did appreciate the mental health aspect of the story and how Sienna sought out therapy to finally heal herself.
This was a quick read but held my attention the whole way through. I loved the forced proximity situation and the connection they formed there. This is a fun world and I'm enjoying all the Sierra Cove Books!

Finally
What does Finally mean? At an end, achieving something orrr “I can be Me!” Sienna has never felt love, acceptance or “Me!” A mother who was an addict, a grandmother that made the word Mean sound nice and Grandpa Al with Alzheimer’s. That’s all that she’s ever had until college and that all went to Hades quickly enough. This is a truly emotional roller coaster that seems to be called for during this Insane period of Tim following the Pandemic. Give everybody around you the benefit of a doubt but especially yourself.

Book 3 in the Sierra Cove series and is Remi and Sienna’s story. Each book can be read as a standalone but reading them in order is a great way to meet all the characters since they all have cameos in each of the books. Remi and Sienna’s relationship is a rollercoaster ride of emotion that you will be yelling at them one minute and then crying the next. Their romance was an uphill battle but once they fought for it and won, it was worth it. Another great read in this series and I can’t wait to see what she has coming next.

Sienna has had little love in her upbringing and not been good. A lack of interest , consideration and care has created problems.. Remi is able to recognize the signs and whilst he has had his own issues to deal with, he is more resilient and willing to help her, being kind.
There is an eventual HEA, but this couple have much to overcome. The storyline covers grief, despair and mental health associated with events.
Book 3 in the series. Well written and interesting reading.

I received this book as an ARC but all opinions are my own.

I think this book is my favorite in the series because it's so relatable. These character's are very well written, and as a reader you really feel the emotions that the characters are emoting. This book does deal with someone feeling guilty for the death of someone else and getting pushed away by everyone, so it can be triggering for some readers, but it is worth the read.

This book follows Sienna and Remi's story. Sienna has struggled her entire life with a lack of love/affection/compassion and believes she isn't worthy of those things. Is Remi the person to bring light into her darkened days?... Expect lots of ups and downs, grief, despair, mental health issues and more throughout.

Sienna is an emotional tornado. Remi is laidback, optimistic and always trying to help. In a moment of unguarded grief, he sees Sienna and instinctively wants to make her feel better. As these two get more comfortable with each other, true colors start to pop and sparks start flying that are not easily extinguished. It is a wonderful read, beginning to end.

I have to admit that I had a hard time getting into Sienna and Remi's story. I loved Remi but Sienna was the issue. Eventually I warmed up to her and felt awful for her home situation. There were so many emotions written into their story and he was so sweet to her even when she acted horribly. She gets better and they work well together after all.

Drama Llama with shitty grovel.

Would have been a 5star read all the way. It was amazing and insightful and totally gave an honest view of dealing with anxiety and depression.

MMC did a terribly shitty thing. Level 10 shitty. His grovel needs to be an 8.5 or more. This was nowhere near that. He gives her space. Until he doesn't. And FMC is so starved for love that I guess him doing a wellness check after 3-4 months makes up for everything. Blah.

Taking someone with high anxiety and social issues to a place where she will be ostracized??? Wtf was that? Is he emotionally so stunted that he didn't care if he was the ultimate betrayal? Ugh. These books create angsty situations then never show the characters having to fix the mess. They just wait for the other person to get some therapy and forgive them. It was so out of character for the FMC to just... poof... be okay with how shitty he was. She deserved so much better.
