Avian Meyers is a twenty-one-year-old junior at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. She’s studying Finance when she wants to dance, but she wouldn’t dare. Her mother has had a plan for her life since the day she was born, and Avian followed it precisely to her specifications. However, she was drowning under the weight of expectations and wanted nothing more than to let go, lose control, and find herself.

Marco Andretti is a thirty-year-old tattoo artist. He owns his shop and doesn’t have to answer to anyone. He doesn’t play by anyone’s rules or conform to any views but his own. He could be rough, wild, and a bit out of control in certain situations, but that was the best way to live, in his opinion. He’s looking for someone who can handle that, and accept every part of him.

One faithful day the two cross paths, and there’s an instant attraction. Marco can tell that Avian would be perfect for him. She just needs someone to show her the pleasure she would get in finding herself, letting go, removing herself from stifling control, and relinquishing to a different, more enjoyable type. Marco had no problem being the man who ensured all of those things came to pass.

Her dress was short, and he was sure if she bent over, he'd get a nice view of her ass. That thought was almost enough to have Marco turning the car around and taking her back to his place, where no one else could see her in what she wore. However, he knew he didn't have anything to worry about. After all, she had worn the dress for him, and he'd put any disrespect while they were out in its place.

When they pulled in front of their destination, she turned to him with a smile. Honestly, he hadn't known if she would like it. Some women didn't enjoy simplicity.

“Ice cream?” she questioned.

“Not just any ice cream. It's the best in the city.”

He got out of the car, and she did as well. When he made it around to her side, she was shifting from one foot to the other, and Marco figured it was because of the guy that was openly eye-fucking her.

Marco's eye twitched. He wouldn't mind teaching the boy some manners. However, Avian leaned into his side, lacing her fingers through his. He led her into the ice cream shop while raising a brow at the guy staring at her. Once inside, they stopped in front of the extensive menu.

“What are you getting?”

“Chocolate with caramel syrup,” he told her.

“Will you give me some?”

Marco raised a brow at her before leaning down and whispering huskily in her ear. “Are we still talking about ice cream?”

“Y-yes,” she told him, and he smirked.

Another win for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Marco and Avian. Their chemistry was something else. They were such a great match for one another.

Avian needed someone who would pull her out of her comfort zone and help her grow into the person she wanted to be. At the beginning of the book, we see her bogged down with stress and expectations, and while she knows she's drowning under them, she doesn't know how to remove herself from it. She's expected to give perfection in regard to her grades and allow someone else to dictate her life.

Marco is the right person to pull her out of her comfort zone and away from those suffocating expectations. He lives by his own rules, and he doesn't care how others feel about him. When he meets Avain, their attractions to one another is easy to see. Her sweet personality melds well with his dominance. It works to bring her out of her shell and help her evolve while also allowing him to tap into his want/need to be there for her.

They face obstacles that are presented as people who don't want to see them happy and try to drive them apart.

The communication they exhibit is top-notch. On the couple of occasions where they have an issue, they're great about talking it through. Another reviewer said they enjoyed that there wasn't a lot of toxic drama, and I couldn't agree more. I read romance for the mellow, sweetness, and smut.

This is a long read as a reviewer stated. It took me a day to get through it, but it's more than worth it because of the events that take place. I think if it were shorter, it would seem rushed, and as readers, we would have missed out on moments.

Avian's relationship with Lorna was adorable, and I enjoyed reading how it progressed and the way Lorna was there for her. All of the friends are tight-knit as well. I've noticed that the author has a knack for writing friendship groups I'd enjoy being a part of.

The cameos in this book were nice as well. I couldn't help but smile when I saw some of my favorite characters from other books. That's another thing I enjoy that the author does. The way her characters intertwine and she has this entire world that encompasses them.

My only complaint is that a particular character didn't get stomped for making my girl bleed, regardless of age, because I would have loved to see it.

Can't wait to see if my favorite bickering side characters get a book. I could say more, but I'd be getting into spoiler territory.

Want something spicy and fun with a HEA? This is your next read.

I enjoyed this book so much. I’m not the biggest fan of an overabundance of drama where the characters go through the wringer. Real life is already that way. When I read romance books they’re an escape into bliss for me, and Ms. Marks is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors with the way that she pens hers.

Avian is a young woman coming into her own and trying to shake the expectations of her mother, and the pressure that has been put on her. Within the book, we get to see her go from this woman that bends to the will of her mother and her demands to one that stands up for herself and demands respect.

Marco is a man I think every woman needs. He lives life the way he wants to and we see him go from a man who’s having to fend off his mother trying to hook him up and asking for grandbabies, to being in a committed relationship where he’s helping her come into her own, and they’re growing together.

Their chemistry in the book is hot and it escalates from beginning to end. The author did an excellent job of showing that even though they have undeniable chemistry in the bedroom, it’s the same when they’re outside of it.

Bot MCs are thoughtful of each other and it’s shown in their actions. There are several scenes where I thought to myself, “That’s so sweet of them to do for one another.” We saw how they dealt with problems that arose and how communication won out.

There’s so much that takes place in the book, and the author spaced it out well. I don’t want to give the events away, but it didn’t feel like it was rushed or dragged out.

The friendship group they have is everything. While Avian and Eri joined Marco and his employees/cousin you would never know that by the way they all meshed and melded.

There is so much more I could say but I don’t want to give anything away. If you’re looking for a spicy romance void of all the unnecessary over the top drama, but still has a great storyline that will hold your attention, I couldn’t recommend this enough to you!

Wow 🤩 that was so cute and beautiful

This is my 2nd book by MS. Marks and I had completely forgotten that when you grab one of her books, get ready to be in these people lives and experience everything with them, from the longest story telling to the description of their everyday life that would include everything besides of the actual description of their bathroom break 🤣🙈🥰 and I can say this did not disappoint.
It was a quick meeting, but a slow process/journey into their starting point of like to madly in love to the final act: marriage.
I truly liked these characters, specially Marco and Avian with the biggest one being Lorna. It was truly relatable on all fronts.
Probably the only annoying or dislike that I had was that the term of endearment once I got the translation didn’t sit right with me. But besides that I can’t wait for your next book to come. Could it be about the Amato’s? Speaking of them, I thought at the beginning they were cousins with Marco? Was it on the mother or father side? Then why they were not introduced to Avian as such and why they didn’t go to the big house or at least interacted with Matteo and Lorna? 🤔🤔
In any case, wonderful story MS. Marks, it was good and perfect. No cheating, no bdsm, no extras specially regarding the age difference thing, but simply a perfect love story that we as the reader got a chance to follow.

Good…Just Missing Something.

OK so I’m giving a three because I feel the story dragged on. To the point where I thought things were gonna pop off and there was gonna be some drama or something because of either Marco‘s past or because of some drama that was going on currently in the story. The story was not bad it just could’ve been wrapped up about 150 pages earlier than it was.

Also, Nyela made an appearance and I cannot stand her ;). She had nothing to do with the rating because she didn’t even speak. I just still really really really want Synn to break up with her.

I digress. Anyway, like I said the story was good. Marco was dominating and possessive and I loved it. I just graded it lower because again, I felt it was too long and like it was missing something.
Let me clarify, I don’t mind a long story at all. Again this one just felt like something was missing. She would go into detail about how Avian was getting in her car to go to the store and then coming back from the store and getting in her car and driving home and then taking a shower….etc. It was just unnecessary filler. I kept waiting for something to happen. Maybe I’m just used to the craziness of her other books I don’t know. I will continue to read and support her because her books are really good; I just wasn’t feeling this one.

3.5 Stars

This was originally a Kindle Vella story, an additional 35,000 words have been added, so this is a very long read.

This is an age-gap story and other than physical attraction, I didn't see anything this couple had in common—lust is universal. The hero is a tattoo artist, so he sees beautiful women—all (body) parts of them, quite frequently. What attracted him to the heroine? What made him ask her out?

They go out, but it doesn't go as planned and the hero is initially blasé about her. After not hearing from him, she does something outside of her comfort zone. Once the hero finds out the answer to his question, it's on and it stays on.

The heroine is a college student, who is constantly nagged by her mother to study, study, study. She feels the pressure from her courses and the expectations of her tyrannical mother. When the heroine is oppositional, the mother shows her who's boss, this forces the heroine to consider other options. Options that the mother is not pleased to hear.

There are four persistent troublemakers that cause the hero/ine grief. Unfortunately, I believe, because of the length of the story, there are long gaps between their appearances. They stir the pot and leave until the next encounter. There is a pivotal moment where a certain character disappeared and I think it was a missed opportunity. There are some great moments in this story—three unexpected moments, two in particular, took unexpected turns—this intrigued me.

Overall, I liked this couple and their friends, but I needed just a little bit of couple angst, and I hate angst. They just had a too perfect relationship, and I wanted them to be tested, to go through some sh*t. The true test of any relationship is when there is strife, when the chips are down, when there is not enough money to pay all the bills and you're living paycheck to paycheck because your spouse has lost their job and you're not getting along in the kitchen or the bedroom, then, come talk to me about life and love.

This author is on my radar and I will definitely be reading more books from her.

Happy Reading Y'all! 😄

Nice

I enjoyed this, I can appreciate a long & chill romance book. I will say, I found Dallis & Colbie book more interesting. I also notice there's a theme with this author that all her heroines have strained relationships with their mothers & the men come from loving families. Every black woman lead having almost the same family dynamic is redundant. There's also the way these black women characters deal with disrespect, instead of checking people, she's turning the other cheek while the men are allowed to be about that action when necessary. Respectability politics stifle BW writers which stifles bw characters. Eri over the top & unwarranted attitude towards Elias was weird & was never explained why she was acting that way. I'm bored with the sassy black friend to the main character shtick. It's been done to death. Retire it!! I hope the next book is about one of dallis's friends & not Eri, that bitchie attitude is only tolerable in small doses.

Beautiful love story

I've read this book at least 3 times, on 3 different platforms, I've literally seen the development and growth of this book.
I love reading about Avian and Marco's love story development. Going from single and not looking, Marco took on glance and knew he was going to make her his everything. Being stuck in the controls of a tyrant mother but supportive father, Avian never had time for herself, let alone date, so meeting Marco was the big bang of her self-fulfilling life. Finally being free of her mother and her iron fist, Avian is loved full heartedly and well taken care of by her man whose love seems to know no bonds when it comes to her. Who could ask for a better love story?

just ok

The positives. We had protagonists with regular jobs. The book touched on suffocating mothers and how they can affect every aspects of your life. Not a lot was made of the age gap which was refreshing. Having your in laws being welcoming and drama free whithout racial issues was nice.
The negatives: there was far too much minutia in the book making it tedious at times. Apart from the usual difficult ex, the couple didn’t have any real challenges nor in depth conversations about anything. For example, Marco’s past was completely brushed over when it could have led to interesting topics.
Both Marco and Avian were very boring for a young couple.
I really hope that the next couple will not be the cliché cousin with the best friend. Let’s widen the net.

This was a new author for me. She definitely understood the assignment with her descriptive words and the flow of the book. Avian is a young woman trying to find her way and come into her own with a controlling mother. Marco is an alpha independent male who knows what he wants and where he’s going. I think that with these two falling in love, Avian was able to find her own way and determine her path. The sex is hot, sexy, and sensual. The couple faces a lot of challenges, but come out stronger for it. This book was told in different points of view, no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a hea. I highly recommend this book.

Beautiful story! Hot couple!

What I love about Teir Marks books is how alive her characters are. I sometimes feel like I’m looking through/am an intruder to/at the window into their world.

Avian and Marco were such well developed characters that met and grew as a couple. I initially thought Avian was too young for Marco but he knew who and what he wanted. It was her. It was so nice to see her grow and mature ( especially in dealing with her mother, Deborah ) throughout this story. You realize she was being stifled by her mother and her relationship with Marco, freed her.

Btw, the sex between these two was off the charts 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Blazing Hot Roman God Marco🌟🌟🌟🌟💫

I can’t deny that the cover featuring the scorching 🔥Roman God Marco is the major reason I wanted to read this book🤷🏽‍♀️. The ✍🏼,however grabbed & held my attention from page 1 to the end with Avian & Marco’s romance🥵. It’s like she peeped in my mind & created the man of my all my dreams & fantasies & brought him to life in the pages of Dominato! Marco is the epitome of a living dream & girls, I wish so bad he was real! ( or I had magic powers to steal him from the 📕🤣) This bookworm is now a fan of Tier Marks & will be checking out more of her 📚. Happy Reading🍷

Great Read!

I truly loved these two together, I really liked how the communication between them was on point at all times. Marco was the definition of a true man who loved his woman. Now what I didn't like was we never a description of what Avian looked like, but were constantly reminded how Marco looked. That is the reason I gave 3 star, I truly believe that detail takes away from the story!! I hope their is a story about his cousin Elias and her friend Eri😁

You just know

The love between Marco and Avian was explosive. Avian needed someone to push her out of her box and Marco was just to man to do it. The friend and the cousin is a love match waiting to happen. Can’t wait to see what happens there. I just found this author but her books always have a HEA.

This author? 👩🏾‍🍳💋

Yet again, this author delivers. I wasn’t sure with the length of the book, but it was good right up to the end. Deborah was a piece of work and Amy 😂😂. Didn’t see that coming. I would have liked to see another couple get together, but that may be in a different book. Marco was described perfectly. Marco and Avian relationship is a couple’s goal.

3.5-4 stars.
This was a fun s*xy read. It’s not intended for deep storylines. I think the writer just wanted to showcase a relationship with a girl and her first love. They communicated well and both knew what they wanted. I love healthy age gap romances (OM/YW) so I knew I would like this.

When You Know ….

Marco knew he wanted Avian in his life and he got her, showing her so much love respect and support along the way. This book tells a love story but also shows the importance of setting boundaries to preserve that love.

Having read several books by Ms. Marks, I am always happy to see that she has a new title. This story was doubly special because I got to reconnect with Dallis and Colbie and the main male character, Marco, is connected to the Amato series. I have not read that series yet so now I have a heightened reason to check it out! Avian Myers is a hard working college student nearing the end of her college career. Her mother has guided her every step of the way, often ignoring Avian's wishes about her education. Avian meets the somewhat older Marco when he gives her a tattoo, they are both smitten. However, their road to coupledom is anything but smooth. Her controlling mother is determined to put a stop to their relationship and a former girlfriend is ready and willing to reconnect with Marco. Ms. Marks always delights and her secondary characters are amazing, especially Marco's mother. I absolutely love how loyal Avian and Marco become as a couple; the book is not rushed and I have a feeling that we will see them pop up as support in another story down the line. Great story!!
