One to many hits on the head the same night resulted in a case of amnesia for Jacob Burnett. He was lucky that Hannah Newhouse took mercy on him, when she found him wondering down the middle of the highway in the middle of the night. He had no memory of who he was, where he had been, where he was going, or what happened to put him where he was. Hannah decided she could not just leave him so she picked him up. She was a heiress from New York that was being forced by her father to marry a man she did not love for the so called good of the family. She thought if she had to do this she was going to do one last thing for herself. She took off on a road trip on her way to New Mexico visiting National Parks painting scenery as she was an artist. She did not Jacob the real truth of who she was, and that her family had no idea where she was. She was trying everything to keep her family from finding her, and Jacob was doing everything to remember his family. They traveled together for several days getting to know each other becoming closer. Meanwhile back at the ranch, it took them a few days to miss Jacob, but as soon as they did they contacted Tucker for help. It was not long after that news reports were out, and people everywhere were looking for Jacob. Tucker's men soon had him located and on his way back to the ranch. He convinced Hannah to return with him to the ranch to meet his family which Eugenia loved. She thought they made the perfect couple.
With no memory, Jacob felt safe traveling with Hannah not having to be around people. She was his safe haven being around her alone, her staying in the travel trailer, him in the backseat of the SUV. During the days she painted, he would watch or go fishing. They had a real connection, but she never told him about the man her father was forcing her to marry.
Enjoy this wonderfully entertaining story as Eugenia comes out for some outstanding ghostly pranks. Even Aunt Rose had more positive vocal comments, and wonders among wonders her and Eugenia actually got along in this story. Come on you have to this one, because Hannah's father never checked the Barnett Family out. He thought they were poor farmers. Jokes on him.

Over 100 years ago, Eugenia and Thomas Burnett started the Burnett Ranch, turning it into one of the most profitable and most lucrative in all of Texas. And Eugenia Burnett’s ghost has continued her interest in the ranch with her matchmaking skills. Now the matchmaking ghost has chosen to help Jacob Burnett.
Hannah Newhouse is driving along when a man covered in blood appears on the road ahead. He doesn’t know who he is, so she cleans him up and tries to help him. Jacob Burnett knows there is danger participating in a rodeo. But now he has been thrown from a bull and hit his head, giving him temporary amnesia. Hannah’s dream has been to visit as many nature reserves as she can before returning to New York City and being forced by her father to honor a commitment he required.
Eventually, Jacob’s memories came back. The two of them had gotten comfortable with each other, and Jacob realizes he has fallen in love with her. She was delaying her departure for one more day, so he had to tell her how he felt. Admitting his love, he sees her tense up as a limo arrives and her father steps out with an angry scowl. Will he force her to go home with him right now? Will she leave with him, after Jacob has told her he loves her? Or doesn’t she get a choice in the matter? Will the matchmaking ghost Eugenia help Jacob realize there was a reason for Hannah’s arrival in his life? Will he fight for her now?

Jacob is book 9 in the Burnett Brides series by Sylvia McDaniel which started out as historical romances with a matchmaking ghost named Eugenia who now many years later is back again to see her great, great, great, great grandsons continue the legacy in these contemporary romances.
Up next is Jacob and Hannah’s story. Jacob’s dream to be a PBR is hampered when he s thrown from a bull, suffers an injury, heads for home is robbed and beaten and now suffers from amnesia..
Hannah is headed on one last adventure before she scrumbles to her father’s demands. When she find a man alone her journey, stops to help…
What happens as they travel on this journey together…remembering his past, secrets, living your dreams maybe, sparks, and more…
Another great story in the Burnett Brides series. Jacob has a dream of being a bull rider, of course the bulls have other ideas, which send him bouncing off the back of a bull and to the ground with a concussion and probably other injuries, but he refuses to go to the hospital, fearing his family will find out he's been bull riding again and give him grief. On the was home he stops for gas and winds up being beaten, robbed, his truck taken and left for dead, and then his adventures begin. Read this wonderful story to find out what happens to Jacob and if he gets back home.
The ninth book in the Burnett Brides series. I liked the looks of the cover. This is brother Jacob Burnett and runaway Hannah Newhouse meet when she rescues him. Jacob has been hurt and can not remember who he is. Their story is well written with a very good storyline that held my interest throughout. I enjoyed seeing them get their happy ending with all the ups and downs they went through. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This plot is amazing! It has so many twists and turns you have to keep reading to see what happens next. Hannah and “Cowboy”s story is filled with family drama, secrets and dreams. Very well written!
Jacob is from a big family in Texas and all the brothers are quit wealthy and owners of a ranch. Jacob wants to be a rodeo winner and a bucking bronco winner so he continues to go to the rodeos and competing in order to get to Las Vegas and win the big belt and trophy. But at his last rodeo everything appears to be going wrong. He is thrown, hits his head hard and should go to the hospital but instead just decides to sleep in the truck and head home after a few hours of sleep. He wakes up and decides to drive home but realizes that he needs gas. While stopped at the as station he is jumped by a group of gang members and is left for dead. He is walking down the middle of the road not knowing anything about where he is, who he is or why he is there. Hannah has run away from home in order to get out of a bad situation with her family. She is driving down the road and realizes that there is a man walking down the middle. He is covered in blood and clearly in need of help. Against her better judgement she picks him up and takes him with her. He can't tell her anything about himself, who he is or where he comes from so she lets him sleep in her SUV while she sleeps in her small trailer. So begins a relationship between them that has many adventures and circumstances. Jacob learns that she is an artist and wants to stay one and Hannah learns that he is a really good guy that she wants to have with her. It all starts to unravel when they stop at the ranch on their way to New Mexico. She knows she should move on but just can't break away from Jacob. But her past catches up with her and will she be able to do what she wants and stay with Jacob and become part of the family or will her family tear them apart. Love this series and have missed some of then so need to go buy the whole set and have a weekend read full of love and happiness.

The opening scene what happened to the H was suspenseful and then how he met up with the h. It just flowed for me and kept me interested how it would play out.
This is book 9 but is a standalone, with crossover characters. How I love the ghost aspect in this story. She adds a nice lighthearted touch and I look forward to her next matchmaking.
You will know the "secret" the h is keeping and why she doesn't to get involved with the H. Still didn't ruin it for me.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, nice setup for the next story, clean with only kisses, romance builds slowly, touch of violence and great main and secondary characters. The timing of the H arriving at the end was a little farfetched but it was entertaining.
I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. (ljb)

This is a fantastic addition to this wonderful series from Sylvia, I was engaged from the very beginning. The way Sylvia writes draws the reader into the story and makes you feel you too are there. The writing is brilliant and I can honestly say I recommend this book to all. I look forward to reading the next in the series. Thank You, Sylvia, for a brilliant book, I love the Burnett brothers' 4x great Grandmother:).

This was Jacob and Hannah’s book. Jacob Burnett knows the danger of the rodeo. He’s witnessed many a cowboy flying through the air, but this is his dream. He’s going to win or die trying. And dying is a possibility when he’s thrown from a bull and hits his head. Hannah is living her best life as a runaway. With no job, her home is a ragged old camper visiting every nature reserve before she must return to New York City and fulfill her commitment. Everything has been great until the night she rescues a cowboy who can’t remember his name. This was a new author, for me. And voluntarily leaving my review.
I absolutely loved this book. The characters and plot were wonderfully written. Jacob aka Cowboy, a young man with amnesia, and Hannah a young woman who is trying to live her dream before being forced into a marriage she doesn't want. A developing romance ripped from them by Hannah's father. Will Jacob remember who he is before it is to late? Can they weather the storm and find each other again? Must read!
Jacob is the ninth book in this series but it can also be read as a stand-alone.
There are are some good characters and the storyline is ok but there are way too many tropes in this book for me and it seems as if the author is trying to please every reader, all the time. It is an ok read but less is more!
I am sure it will definitely appeal to fans of this author and of this series as well as cowboy romance fans. I suggest you read it and make up your own mind.
Everything that happened to Jacob was riveting and Hannah happened making their story a journey I was glad I was on with them. The ensuing events were both mind blowing and wonderful. Eugenia was as fun as ever and the family were still enjoyable. This is a part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. Book gifted to me.
I love a good cowboy romance. This story was sweet and romantic with some emotional situations. There was a bit of mystery in the mix as well. Certainly a page turner and I loved the chemistry Jacob and Hannah had. This was an enjoyable, inspirational romance book with a very interesting storyline.

This is a really nice, sweet story of romance and love. The premise was quite interesting and how these two came together and made it work was inspiring. A great story.

I love these stories with Eugenia, none of the boys ever believe in her! Jacob's dream is to win a buckle at the rodeo, he sneaks away to do this but things don't go as well as he expects, he only lasts five seconds and ends up with a concussion. Things go from bad to worse when he gets beaten up while getting fuel for his truck, fortunately he is saved by a car hooter. Hannah is hiding from her horrible father, on a trip of a lifetime, following the trail of her idol, a painter, she sees Jacob in the road and is undecided about stopping.
