Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was a Scottish writer and physician. He created the character Sherlock Holmes in 1887 for A Study in Scarlet, the first of four novels and fifty-six short stories about Holmes and Dr. Watson. The Sherlock Holmes stories are milestones in the field of crime fiction.

Doyle was a prolific writer. In addition to the Holmes stories, his works include fantasy and science fiction stories about Professor Challenger, and humorous stories about the Napoleonic soldier Brigadier Gerard, as well as plays, romances, poetry, non-fiction, and historical novels. One of Doyle's early short stories, "J. Habakuk Jephson's Statement" (1884), helped to popularise the mystery of the brigantine Mary Celeste, found drifting at sea with no crew member aboard.

Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat have made some fantastic choices when it comes to the stories featured within this book. When reading them, I could see where they had drawn inspiration for the cases depicted in the show while still being completely shocked as to how the cases came to close. I'm happy I saw it on the library shelf.

I need not say that Sherlock is an all time favourite detective character for any human being living on this earth😍😅 Most have also seen two legends (Robert Downey & Benedict Cumberbatch) on-screen showing absolute justice to this classic character. And we also got to see them come together in Avengers IW 😚 The stupidly-in-love-with-Sherlock myself expected some Sherlock reference in there...hahaa!😝.

This book presents the first part of the series, played by Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. I can assure you that you will get to enjoy the fun part of their adventure in its entirety in this book which is beautifully elaborated!!! I can't wait to get my hands on the other following books. It's filled with dynamic yet simply realistic scenes, just as you see in the series and with each page you can hear the theme song playing in your mind!😋😲. I think there is no need to rate this book...it's a no-brainer right?! It's obviously a 5 on 5 for my favourite work at anytime!
