This book makes all kinds of wild assumptions about the mindset of parents. Or… this book is for unhealthy people/parents who lack self-awareness and treat their kids like pets. The tone of this book is one of a sassy friend condescending to you over a bottle of wine. It’s hyperbolic and dramatic, so it was difficult to actually identify helpful advice. I think this book would be helpful for people who desperately need therapy and parenting support due to clinical issues and personality manifestations. I guess if you’re generally mentally healthy, not a toxic parent who projects pathologies on your kids, and are insightful and accountable, you won’t need this book.
