“A fast-paced, intriguing, richly written puzzle box of a book. Every twist and turn left me breathless. That first paragraph grabbed me and wouldn't let me go.”–Aaron Michael Ritchey, award-winning author of The Sages of the Underpass and The Cunning Man series.
"This is a captivating tale about witches and demons and a battle as old as time. It is a story of love, loss, and being captured by purpose. The main character is likable and brave, and her growth as she discovers the truth about her past and her power over the future makes a story well worth reading. I highly recommend it!” Cheree Alsop, best-selling author of The Silver Series.
This was a fun, YA dark fantasy novel with romance and lots of action and humor! While reading it, I was often reminded of the TV series Supernatural, especially as the trio (along with The Circle) fought against the demons 😄 There is also a consistent theme of family (both literal and found) throughout the novel.
I think my favorite thing about this novel was all the twists and surprises along the way! Like, just when you think you might’ve figured out where this book is heading, the author flips the script and keeps things interesting! 😄❤️
… Though that cliffhanger at the end of this novel should be illegal 😅 Definitely looking forward to reading the 2nd book in this series! ❤️
YA fantasy isn’t always favorite genre, but this one really captivated me. The unique concept and world building were great, and I have so many questions left unanswered (which is why I’ll be starting book 2 as soon as I hit “done” on this review 😉).
The author does a great job of explaining aspects of the magic in-story, which means there’s a lot less exposition or long drawn out definitions or explanations for how things work in the world, which I really appreciated.
I listened to the audiobook for this and the narrator was excellent, so if you’re more of an audiobook person, this one is a great option for that. 😊
This YA dark fantasy novel was an absolute delight, combining romance, action, and humor into an engaging read!
What truly captivated me were the unexpected twists and delightful surprises that adorned the pages! Just when I thought I had the story figured out, the author skillfully turned everything upside down, keeping the plot intriguing and dynamic!
Although I must admit, the cliffhanger at the end of the novel was a bit torturous. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the second book in this series.
I started reading at 5:30 pm and was only able to stop when I was done around 11:30 pm. It was so good that I read past my bedtime. Witches and Demons made for a perfect summer read. Great story.
