Intergalactic Alliance #14

The Maraguay's Emergence

She awaked me to my true self and now I will make her MINE!

WILLA: I was supposed to kill Xar'Gon, but when I meet him, he is not at all what I expected. I have never met anybody as fascinating and good looking as him, and it doesn't take long until sparks fly and all I want is to get to know him better. Unfortunately it doesn't seem as if time is on our side, as his father's armada is on it's way to destroy Eden and Earth.
Xar'Gon has a plan to stop him, but it's reckless and dangerous and I learn quickly that losing Xar'Gon is not an option I want to take.

XAR'GON: My life as the disposable heir to the Maraguay Empire is more of a waiting game for my execution than a life. But it's something I have gotten used to. Until the most breathtaking female enters it like a space vortexer and turns it upside down, filling me with things I have never experienced before: Love and purpose.
Now we just need to figure out how to stop the Emperor from destroying the entire known and unknown universe, without dying ourselves, because for the first time in my life I want to live.

Willa (h), a human prisoner held and tortured by the Maraguay finds herself in the middle of an escape plot that lands her in front of Prince Xar’Gon, the Emperor’s second son, with a blaster in her hand. She makes a quick decision, and the pair flee Adante embarking on an ambitious plot to change the future of the Maraguay. They find themselves drawn to one another in a relationship that goes against his people’s beliefs. Lots of action and adventure. Hot and steamy action too. Amazing to have everyone back from the other books in the series and a great finale to the series.

Written in first person by Bella Blair, The Maraguay's Emergence is the 14th and final book in the Intergalactic Alliance Series and follows Prince Xar'Gon of Adante and Willamette Mathews of Eden.

Earth had been attracked by an alien species known as the Abbaddoths, and had been under their brutality for 20 years before the Zylonians liberated them. The Intergalactic Alliance, under influence of the Zylonians, declared war against the Abbaddoths (both known as the superpowers). The United Pirates Alliance successfully rid the known universe of The Vile Ones (bad pirates), and the Maraguays inadvertently took out the Abbaddoths. So now, the war is between the Intergalactic Alliance and the Maraguays. (I heavily recommend reading the books in succession to follow along with the story.)

Willamette (Willa) Mathews, daughter of Commander General Mathews III, and sister of Gabriella Mathews (Aggamont's mate from book 11) was born and raised on Eden, which was a settlement of humans that fled Earth when the Abbaddoths first invaded. Willa had discovered a planet that the Maraguays invaded before she went missing. The Maraguays captured her and kept her in the exhibit, until Brocc freed her (the Zylonian that was rescued alongside Scarlett in book 10). Brocc's prisoner Gren'Dor (ex friend of Balda'Har's) led Willa to Prince Xar'Gon, with the expectation of her killing him.

Prince Xar'Gon was the expendable Maraguay heir of Adante, son of Emporer Bram'Wen and brother to Prince Tran'Vor (the rightful heir). Maraguays always incubated 2 heirs, the one that would someday rule as Emporer, and a backup just in case something happened to the rightful heir. Xar'Gon always knew his place and had been waiting for his extermination. Instead, he met Willa, and fate changed everything.

After Xar'Gon and Willa escaped Adante, they made a journey to meet up with the Emporer's fleet, making many stops along the way. First was Eden, where they discovered that the humans made it out before the Maraguays destroyed it. Then Abbordoth, where they witnessed that destruction. Then they ran into Eryx, who held them until Aggamont and Gabby showed up. With a plan in place, they freed the fleet currently under their command and brainwashing before finally meeting up with the Emporer, where Gren'Dor killed Bram'Wen and took command of the entire fleet. Draxor brought his fleet just in time to have a little powwow between the new superpowers, and a peace agreement was made, along with Gren'Dor returning to Adante and setting things right with his people. The history of humanity was revealed and everyone presumably lived happily ever after.

First intercourse took place in chapter 19 at the 32% mark. My typical complaint with these romance novels is the lack of romance and how they make us wait too damn long for the raunch that it's like dangling the cheese for so long that it molds. Anything after the 47% marks is frustrating for me as a reader, and thankfully, we didn't have to wait that long in this book. We were treated to 7 separate sexual interactions between the couple, (probably the most in the series) none of which dissapointed. (Whenever back-to-back lovemaking happens, I count those as a single interaction, and I don't count vague encounters at all.)

As a series finale, this book frustrated and bored me. Heavy emphasis on the "bored." I got the impression that this was the author's way of quickly putting this series to bed. Like she had intentions of writing more books but abruptly decided "nah, I think this is it, I'm done." Like many others, I would've rather seen Willa and Brocc wind up together, I think it would've been more fitting. Not every woman needs to be mated to a King or Emporer. The story appeared rushed with none of its usual enthusiasm or effort. I guess the author was right to call it quits.

This book was as long as the others in this series. The balance between the adventure and romance was agreeable, especially since drama seemed to take the place of the adventure. I was addicted to the story line/plot in the background. There's a lot of small information pertinent to the story/plot that I have left out, so you will just have to read the book yourself. I recommend this read and am relieved the series is over. I look forward to whatever this author has in store for us next.

I've read the last book in the Intergalactic Alliance series, but I hope to catch up with the characters in other books. Authors note said to start with the Vissigroths, so that's my next Bella Blair series.

I like how things are tied up in this book, and explains why some of these alien species use the same words and such. We also learn the origin of all the species.

Willa, as we know from Gabby's story, is imprisoned by the Maraguays and Brocc comes to rescue her, with assistance from Gren'dor. Gren'dor double crosses them, and takes Willa to kill prince Xar'gon-- the expendable Maraguay heir. Willa decides she can't do it, and incapacitates Gren'dor instead while her and the expendable heir escape Adante where the Speciman Zoo has been released, thanks to Brocc, and they are now roaming the streets causing chaos. There they plot to overthrow the Maraguay Government.

I liked the plot of this, some people think so highly of themselves they don't think anyone would plot against them, and that's when they lose. The Maraguay's got too big for their britches, so to speak.

I enjoyed the plot arc over this whole series. You think there's gonna be a big blow up with the Abbadoths, but that's not quite what happens. Can't wait to dig into the Vissigroths!

And everything comes together. I enjoyed this final book and the MCs very much. It was interesting how different they are and yet how similar. Great chemistry but not quite as good as that between her sister and Aggamont imo. I don’t know how to feel about this whole human link thing. It’s a good plot device to explain things like cross species babies. Good series overall.

Great sci fi aspect about human origins, intriguing. I enjoyed this series of books, and this was a fulfilling culminating ending to it! I enjoyed seeing all the characters brought forward and the overarching story to it all.

"Temptation can come in many forms..."

Xar'Gon is the Spare who walks the tight rope between accepting his lot in life (and the way his people deal with the Spare to the Heir would make others count their blessings) and refusing to be idle and ignorant. What he hasn't figured out is how to have an impact on his society... He can find out about injustices, even heinous cover-ups the average citizen doesn't know about. But he's powerless to do anything to help. Prince in name only.

Willa doesn't know who to trust, but she's quickly realizing that her instincts are an excellent tool, and maybe if Xar'Gon is given half a chance, and had someone, anyone, in his corner, he could accomplish something... If she's really lucky, great things for her species.

This done in one kindle unlimited book completes an overarching arc, bringing it to a satisfying conclusion, while still keeping the door open for more interesting stories to be told in this Universe.

This story has some great threads about taking responsibility for your own actions... but also forgiving yourself for things beyond your control. There are times when we take on guilt that, if we could step back from the situation we would see isn't truly ours, and this story really dealt with that nicely. There was also an undertone of questioning information, digging to learn and understand more instead of just accept a (possibly misleading) headline, and realizing that over time information can become distorted... but has it happened on accident, or deliberately?.

I read The Maraguay's Emergence in kindle unlimited and chose to share my thoughts.

Usually, I can read a sci fi romance novel in one or two sittings. Many tend to be formulaic with a fairly straightforward plot, some occasionally intriguing descriptions of alien culture, and obligatory sex scenes. This book was wonderfully atypical. It had an intensity that kept me gasping, and I had to put it down periodically to catch my breath. I found myself savoring every chapter and almost afraid to turn the pages as the fate of the known universe hung in the balance. I just HAD to see how things were going to play out since the story was unpredictable and worthy of a Star Trek episode as it dealt with life-changing themes of power, justice, xenophobia, and racism. The complex social and political issues were described thoroughly but in a way that was engaging and thought provoking. And the love story was absolutely volcanic in its passion. Xar'Gon and Willa are amazing individuals--strangers who become an incredible couple, supporting each other with compassion and loving devotion, brought together by Fate. Don't pass this one up.

This is book 14 in a brilliant series and I loved how all the characters came together in the end. Xar’gon is the spare heir to the Maraguay empire and if he is not needed he will be terminated but he has other plans. Willa has a mission and it’s to kill Xar’gon the heir to the throne but she is captured and tortured and is saved by her sister Gabby friends Brocc and Gren’dor who appear to be Maraguays but when they separation she goes with Gren’dor where he takes her to the prince’s rooms and when they meet there is a spark that goes off between and he is nothing like what she was told he was and when all hell breaks lose they need him to escape and they use him to get off Adante and away from the Specimen Exhibit that they held her in and the plan worked to release them all amongst his people. There is so much more to this book that I know you will love and is a must read. Loved it and the whole series.

I recently finished reading "The Maraguays Emergence" by Bella Blair and I have to say, it is an incredible piece of literature. The book took me on an epic adventure from start to finish, and I simply couldn't put it down.

The storytelling in this book is fantastic, and the characters are so well-developed that I felt as though I knew them personally. Each chapter of the book is filled with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end. The world Blair has created in "The Maraguays Emergence" is rich and vivid, with a rich tapestry of cultures and ideas.

Overall, "The Maraguays Emergence" is an incredible book, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys epic sci-fi novels.

I have loved this whole series and am sad that this is the end. There is something though about re-reading a series knowing what the end will be. Willa was a wonderful character. She had her flaws and made her mistakes but she never hid from what she did. Despite being a soldier she managed to retain her compassion and a dislike for bloodshed. Xar'gon is one who you have to wonder how he even was able to become such a caring male. Given the circumstances of his upbringing you would not be surprised if it made him into someone cruel, petty and without responsibility. Especially knowing he would not live to have to own his actions. This is a wonderful ending to a fabulous series. I hope for many more books from this author.

Bella always gives a story that just sucks you in. Here we are met with otherworldly beings, politics, fate, and fighting for what's right.

Willa & Xar'Gon were probably never meant to meet, but that's how fate works sometimes. I really enjoyed the little tidbits that tie back to other stories in the series. It's a great way for us to feel more connected to the storyline.

The chemistry, is of course, off the charts!!!! The way they feel they know each other and trust in such a story time is probably something we all dream of happening.

The action wasn't lacking in this story either. Pull up your spacesuits and join up for the ride!!.

The Maraguay’s Emergence provides the Sci-Fi Romance aficionado with an enjoyable good time as its lead protagonists Willa and Xar’Gon pursue enemies and each other in intrigue ridden artfully created ménages of imaginative world building and excellent writing.

I really enjoyed this book. Great world building and wonderful characters. I have read countless books with alien royalty in some form, but this is my first spare heir and I couldn't wait to see where it would go- what he could accomplish when he has no purpose and nothing is expected of him. I really liked Willow. She was such a fighter- quick witted, smart, and learned to trust her instincts. The story was exciting and caught my attention from the start and couldn't put it down. A fast-paced story with action and adventure. 5 stars.

So good!!! Xar’Gon and Willa are a great pair to wrap up this series on Intergalactic Alliance. We learn so much about the Maraguays and come full circle to how groups can come together. Willa had to grapple with her hang ups while Xar’Gon had to grapple with his own. Together they gave each other the strength to make it so. Their connection was deep and their intimacy was super hot! Just awesome.

Willa and Xar'gon . . .

Willa and Xar’gon’s story has all the elements you could want to make an exciting, compelling sci-fi romance. The threat of Xar’gon’s father, the Emperor, on his way and ready to wipe out Eden and Earth will ramp up the tension while the action blasts the reader off into an exciting adventure. Don’t miss this one! It will keep your attention from beginning to end!

The perfect series end.
When one pissed-off human captive finds herself saving the life of the prince of the enemy, Maraguay, things have unforeseen consequences. The twists and turns in this final book of the series are enlightening. The heat between Xar-Gon and Willa is downright incinerating.

The Maraguay's Emergence

As the last in this series many unknowns became known and another romance emerged. Finding an entire species is being chemically and subliminally castrated is sad.
