Some Babies Sleep

Rate this book
Some babies sleep high up in a tree. Some babies rock in the waves of the sea. Some sleep in the desert, some sleep in the snow, some sleep in a meadow where tall grasses grow. This simple, soothing rhyme is paired with lush, warm oil paintings of a child asleep amongst different animals in their homes. Preciously packaged and just the right size for little ones, Some Babies Sleep is an original, lyrical bedtime book for babies of all ages.

A perfect bedtime book for the very young! It follows a baby human through the pages as he falls asleep in the same ways and in the same places that animal babies sleep. With simplified text, a lulling rhyme, and comforting pictures, it’s an ideal read for young children.

Another sleepy like the animals book - and quite nice. Especially like the rabbits sleeping in the den picture. Did not love the kangaroo picture - it is disconcerting with the lopped off head in drawing. A nice enough book but it just cannot touch a book that strikes me as nearly identical in story line: When I'm Sleepy by Jane Howard, illustrated by Lynne Cherry.
