From Wall Street Journal & USA Today best-selling author comes this brand new friends-to-lovers sports romance

Zoe
When you grow up surrounded by hockey players you know one thing for sure, I was never going to settle down with one.
Heck, I didn’t even know what icing was. I was too busy climbing the corporate ladder, becoming one of the most successful realtors in New York City.
I wasn’t interested in dating or anything that got in my way.
First, he was my client and then he became my friend.

Viktor
My parents told me I skated before I walked.
When I was eighteen I was drafted into the N.H.L third overall, playing in Los Angeles—the city of dreams.
What more could I ask for? I played hard, but eventually, I partied even harder.
Five years later I was traded a week after I entered rehab.
There was no time for anything except my health and making sure I’d come out on top. I had to be better.
There wasn’t another option.
One of the rules of recovery was ‘don’t fall in love’ and I made it a top priority. She was off limits in every single way.
Until it was too late
One night, one decision, one act can derail everything.
When push comes to shove, I’m only certain that, This is Wild.

Spoilers ahead,2.5*

This is Zoe, twin sister of book 1, book. Zoe is asked by Matthew to help his newest recruit find a home.
Viktor goes from rehab to play for Matthew's team. He's a recovering cocaine addict but from the first meeting he's attracted to Zoe, but he considers her off limits.

I liked
The Stone family and their interactions even Matthew's telling his sister's and wife about their revealing clothes constantly
I liked the family's support of Viktor's struggle especially as his family wasn't there
I liked that his struggle with his addiction isn't glossed over, in fact it actually took up a significant portion of the book
Zara and Evan had their baby
The epilogue (this was wonderfully done)

Things that didn't work for me
Zoe
The romance between Viktor and Zoe. Now this is a slow burn because Viktor is a recovering addict which is a good thing but honestly there wasn't much build up to the romance. They had some convos, some interactions and then Zoe walks in on Viktor with his former teammate's with half naked girls and drugs. She assumed he'd been using and she runs off crying. She is heartbroken and breaks down to the point Evan has to carry her. She's upset because she loves him so much and I was honestly stunned. Where did that love come from? How? They'd barely spent time together and I think had one kiss. It just didn't seem reasonable
The first time they had sex, I'd have preferred she actually wait as he wanted, to make it to his year

All in all this was ok but didn't really work for me.

H has been celibate as he's been in rehab
h had sex 3 weeks before she met H with a coworker
Struggle with cocaine addiction
There was a scene with some women and drugs that looked bad but he wasn't doing anything (I did think he could've shut it down sooner but I guess the drama would've been averted)

What?? Of course I had to read the twin sister’s story as well!

This was more on the slowburn side of things. They don’t hook up until the last 80% ish but this one had more problems to overcome than the last one.

Seriously, they both were so cute 🥺

A couple of things about this series so far is that the editing was a bit off, there were misspellings and sometimes errors with the characters, you knew who was talking but the book said it was the other character, and the SMUT it's not the best, but overall the story was good paced and cute 🤓

Each time I read this author, I want more and more. Her writing is good, addictive, and its downright leaves you wanting more.

This book, was all that, and then some. Its the story of Viktor & Zoe. First, I love me some sports heroes, but mostly I love a story about redemption and healing. This book has feels, you want feels, this book is full of them. This isn't just your normal sports hero falls in love and is taken off the market, its about overcoming obstacles, beating addiction. But here is my warning to you, it will burn you slowly😍😍 I love a burn that leaves you feeling so good. Kudos to this author, she definitely pulled off this one, I can't wait for my next read from her!!!!

“He’s a broken man, there is no doubt about it, but even broken men love.”

5 stars!

Wow… just… wow. I finished this book at midnight and then lay in bed thinking about it until 1am when I had to get up and pour my feels out, so please excuse my scattered thoughts as I am deliriously tired and completely overwhelmed with the emotional ride that I just went on with this book.

After the first book in this series, I was expecting light and fluffy, but Natasha Madison brought the feels with this one! A stunningly emotional, heart-pounding romance with drama, angst and so many feels! It’s a beautifully written story of true love against the obstacles, with a deliciously slow-burning, chemistry-filled love story that absolutely owned my heart. A perfect combination of drama, heartache, humour and romance, this is my latest fave by Natasha, and I adored every moment of it!

This is the second book in the This Is series, which follows on from the Something So series. Technically, you could read this one as a standalone but the family dynamic has been built upon with every story, and you need that background to fully appreciate the connections and just how special they are as a group - it makes this book so much more meaningful than it would be as a standalone.

This is the story of Zoe. She is the daughter of Cooper and Parker (Something So Right), a sibling to the rest of the characters featured in the series, and twin sister of Zara from This Is Crazy. Zoe is a hardworking and highly successful real estate agent, dedicated to career above all else (with the exception of her family). She is smart, sweet and funny, with a huge heart, and I just love her.

Viktor Petrov is an NHL star who had a spectacular fall from grace. His out of control drug use led to his downfall and he ended up in rehab. Having finished his three months, he is out and starting a new life in New York with his new team, under the mentorship of team General Manager, Matthew Grant (Something So Perfect). He is serious about his recovery and is determined to claim his life back and make the most of his new opportunity.

Zoe and Viktor meet when she is brought on board to help him find a new home in New York, and from the first moment they lay eyes on each other, sparks fly. Their attraction is intense and visceral, but with Viktor in recovery and encouraged to stay away from relationships, and Zoe having sworn off hockey players, there is nowhere for their attraction to go. They are upfront and honest about their feelings and where they are at, and decide instead to be just friends.

It’s fun and flirty, and I loved every moment of the two of them together. I could feel that amazing spark between them, and I found myself smiling like a loon with each and every encounter. The more time they spend together, the more they begin to feel for each other, and the build-up and anticipation had my heart pounding as I eagerly waited for something to happen. But their road is not an easy one as they find themselves being in the impossible situation of falling for somebody that they just can’t have.

“I’m a broken man.” I close my eyes and lean my head back. “I take it back; I was a broken man. Now I’m trying to piece all the pieces together, and I don’t have time for this.”

Oh. My. God. The feels! Firstly, you have this beautiful, beautiful love story as we watch these two people easily and unexpectedly in love. Against all that is standing in their way, and as much as they try to fight it, their fall is organic and complete, flowing so naturally, and I fell right alongside them. So I also experienced everything as they deal with the reality of their situation. It’s heartbreaking and raw, and I was in tears with an aching heart as I watched it all play out.

He watches me, his own tears in his eyes. “I can’t be your friend because I’m in love with you.” I say the words out loud instead of just in my head, and his breath hitches, and he opens his mouth. “I’m in love with you with everything that I have,” I tell him, “but it’s not enough. I can’t love you for both of us.”

As a romance reader, we know that there is a happy ending coming. You know it’s coming, you can feel it coming, but to the characters their situation feels insurmountable, and you’re feeling everything along with them as they fight to get there. It hurts, but it hurts so good, and the slow burn is absolutely sensational!

“I want you to be proud of me. I want you to be proud to stand by my side. I want to be the man you beam with pride at when you introduce. I want to be the man who holds your fucking hand because I can.”

The love story is just gorgeous, and unfolding alongside of it is Viktor’s personal journey that is so beautifully written. Again, I could feel his torment over his past and his heartbreaking, constant struggle to overcome his demons. My heart broke for him, and I wanted to just reach into the book and hold him so bad! His struggles and vulnerability are raw and heartfelt, and his dedication and commitment to his recovery and healing himself is so heartfelt. And though his path is a rocky one, the strength he shows is amazing showing his incredible character.

“Being an addict doesn’t define who you are.”
“It doesn’t,” I agree with her. “Accepting it and having the courage to face it defines who I am.”

And I love that Zoe is a part of that process. Her friendship and support is beautiful, and the inclusion of her family in all of that brings so much depth to the story.

“He walks with so much baggage that he can’t stand up straight,” she starts to say.
“Mom,” I say, looking down. “He’s a friend.”
“Yet you can’t seem to stop yourself from being drawn to him. You can’t seem to look at him and not want to be next to him. You want to help him carry all his baggage.”
“Isn’t that what you taught us?” I ask her, blinking away the tears. “Help people when they are down.”
“Yes,” she answers. “And to carry the ones we love.”

But despite the serious subject matter, it’s not all depressing and gloomy. Zoe and Viktor have a lot of fun and happy moments together, the romance is just beautiful, and the sexy time is really freaking hot (and absolutely perfect… and I mean that in a totally non-pervy way). Zoe’s whole extended family are a huge part of the story, and in addition to providing emotional support, they also bring a whole lot of laughs. This group together is absolutely fantastic! The love and laugh, tease and banter, there is absolutely nothing off-limits between the girls (shout out to drunk Allison), and the protectiveness of all of those alphas had me laughing out loud.

Evan comes over.
“Zoe, that dress is a bit much,” he says, looking at the deep V. “You need to burn that dress, actually.” He looks around. “M&M!” he shouts to the side and both Matthew and Max turn around. “Look at Zoe!” He points at me, and the smile on Matthew’s face disappears, and then Max throws his head back and bursts out laughing. It’s no surprise that Matthew charges over.
“Are you crazy?” he says, taking off his jacket and throwing it on me.

Matthew, in particular, brings a lot to this book. Having set himself up as a cornerstone for his family, his love, support and protectiveness is so beautiful to see.

“She deserves a man who will put her first,” Matthew says. “She deserves a man who is going to love her with every single part of his being.” I listen to the words. “She deserves a man who is going to fight for her.”

This is a really special read. A perfect blend of all of the things I love about romance – fun and flirty banter, wickedly funny group dynamics, heart-pounding drama and intensity that brings the feels, and an emotion-filled, passionate and all-consuming romance. I laughed and I cried, and I loved it so much.

“See you later,” he says, smiling. He leans down and kisses my lips.
“Dude,” Matthew says. “Seriously, that’s my sister.”
“Dude,” Viktor says. “Seriously, that’s mine.”

5 huge stars!

This is the most emotional story I’ve read from Natasha Madison!
Zoe and Viktor are a beautiful couple with a breathtaking chemistry.
The author approaches Viktor’s addiction with respect and through his struggles he comes out strong. Zoe is also an amazing character, very supportive and will do anything for the people she loves.
Dual pov, slow burn romance and very good writing. I really enjoyed it and looking forward for Vivienne’s story.

This is Wild is the story of Zoe and Viktor. Viktor is a pro hockey player who has just completed a stint in rehab. He is not looking for a relationship...he is looking to stay sober. Zoe is a real estate agent hired to find Viktor a new home. That’s my synopsis (short I know)…but really it’s all you need to know.

My thoughts:

Well first off….after looking at several reviews this is going to be a VERY UNPOPULAR OPINION!! Too bad...it's the point of reviews. Otherwise, we are supporting mediocrity, and I for one refuse!

I really love this author! She has written some of the best romances I have read! Great characters, hot steamy reads (like singe your eyelashes steamy), and truly amazing love stories. The kind that makes you root for the characters and their happy ever after, jump up and down, twirl at the magic of it, and have the neighbors worried about the safety of their neighborhood because of your unusual behaviors...its called Euphoria Denise...Im fine! Gees! This book however was not those things!! But wait!!! There are things I liked about this book, and worth mentioning. Natasha Madison is a great writer! I love the weaving in of all the characters from previous and future books. It feels like seeing old friends and allows for lots of funny banter and interactions showing the loyalty and camaraderie of this group. I liked that the hero was flawed and had demons to work through. After all, who doesn’t? It is often that the characters in these novels are unrealistically perfect. Making them unrelatable for most people. She did a great job making Viktor feel human. She can write amazing chemistry between two characters!!! Some of the best in her genre! BUUUTT...yes there is another huge, gigantic but!!....

This is where it stops for me...now the not so good.

There is a very slow build up to these two getting together...which makes sense because Viktor is just getting sober. He needs time to adjust to being drug-free in the “real world”. They spend time together as Zoe is trying to find him an apartment in the new city he was just traded to (pro-hockey player). They never go on a date (NONE…. NOT ONE), they never have any truly in-depth convos, and share ONE kiss (ON NEW YEARS @ MIDNIGHT...when it is tradition to kiss the person next to you when the ball drops…it’s as meaningless as kissing a stranger under the mistletoe at Christmas!!!) So, needless to say, I was shocked with Zoe’s reaction to finding Viktor in a situation that could propel him back down the rabbit hole of addiction. Picture a scene straight out of the “Wolf of Wall Street”. I understand she is scared and maybe a little hurt. She obviously has a crush on this guy. What I read was something entirely different. She has a grade A breakdown (not about his potential relapse mind you...NO about her UNDYING LOVE for him...wait WHAT?? Love?? Again see above...they barely know each other...infatuation, crush, lust??...yes... love??...NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!)….she collapses on the side of the street after running out of his house (and yes a pretty ugly scene) but still. She calls her sister to rescue her...and even her response is way over the top!! Zara her twin and her husband Evan (book 2’s characters) arrive to help. Zoe is still a heap on the sidewalk...and has to be CARRIED to their truck. Upon arriving back to her place, she must be carried again after trying on her own...and her knees buckling front the heartache of it all. She then collapses in the fetal position on her bed, and proceeds into an inconsolable mess!!! AGAIN...I know I keep stressing this, but it bears repeating...she has never been on a date, most of their interactions have been about her selling him an apartment. Come on people!!!! This felt more like @ best a reaction from an IMMATURE teenagers first crush then true love, and at worst Fatal attraction. I was questioning her mental stability, and Viktor’s safety!!! Seriously!! I started picturing scenes from Misery. Instead of the reaction I expected from him... he also is declaring his love for her. LMAO...it was SO RIDICULOUS!! The rest of the book is what you would expect...and ends up as what im supposed to believe is eternal happy ever after. She should have taken out the very dirty love scenes, put the characters in high school, and marketed this book as YA...that I would of believed!!!
I think my harsh review may be stemming from my utter disbelief of most of the other reviews. I mean I know we all have different opinions...I think the political climate right now proves this more than ever!!! I'm not judging others for liking something I didn't...I'm actually questioning if I missed something. When I say missed something...I mean whole chapters or sections. Maybe I blacked out?...that third glass of wine might have been excessive after all!

4 One-Year-Chip Stars

Don’t let the cover, or title of this book mislead you! it’s also not your typical sports romance...it’s so much more! This had a gritty complexity that I was not at all expecting! I completely get caught up in these type of stories, and especially this families dynamic, it also doesn’t hurt that Ms. Madison, delivers great ones, one after another! Her side characters in these two series give them that something extra that I look for. She can really write a damaged, alpha hero, who also has a real sense of sincerity like nobodies business!

This was most definitely a slooow burn, as this friends-to-lovers was different from some of her other books, because it dealt in the aftermath of addiction, and the journey toward overcoming it. I kept thinking...’When are they going to get together, there aren’t that many pages left!?’ It was certainly heavier and than her other books in the “Something So” series, (the original series to this spin-off) and the first book in this series, “This Is.” These kind of stories hit me in the heart, especially when you have a close friend, or family member that’s gone through this kind of thing.

“Every day that you fight is an extra day with the light.”

I already had a fondness for Zoe, from the previous book, but Viktor was such a nice surprise! I love his determination to make his recovery his priority, even tho his affection and feelings for Zoe, also consumed him. His raw vulnerability stood out, and endeared me to him all the more! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this friendship bloom into something more!

Looking forward to Vivienne’s book next! I was super surprised to see who she’d be paired with and I’m super curious about their back story!

🌟Brief Summary:
🤩I’ve been on a Hockey Romance kick and have binged a lot of this authors series.
They are all VERY MIDDLE of the ROAD ROMANCE FOR ME.
~They are entertaining with some romance and some swoon….BUT also has some adults acting like stupid idiots. Some cheap drama and lazy writing.
~You can tell the premise based on the authors blurb….
BUT
Since I’ve read so many I thought I would put safety and and anything that really stood out to me.

‼️‼️THIS IS SUPPOSE TO BE A ROMANCE, but unfortunately this one is NOT. It’s about a drug addict in recovery and nothing else.
‼️‼️THE COUPLE IS NOT EVEN TOGETHER AT ALL UNTIL THE LAST 20% or less of the book! There is no feels, no swoon, no sex (at least not till 90%), no sweetness….
‼️‼️INFACT THE COUPLE IS BARLEY FRIENDS UNTIL THE VERY END. This was so freaking boring.
NM you sold me this as a romance… so where the FUCK IS THE ROMANCE!?

‼️‼️THIS IS THE WORST BOOK OF ALL THE HOCKEY SERIES TO DATE. WHAT THE HELL I MEAN THEY WEREN’T EVEN TOGETHER. This could have been written so differently with more impact.

‼️‼️Even in his POV he is all about his recovery not her. Like that’s ok and commendable and all but this is a FUCKING ROMANCE BOOK.

‼️‼️The sudden love and sadness at the end was sooooo stupid. This couple didn’t even know each other….. why write this?! Why make it so fucking unromantic!? WHY!!????!!!?????

‼️‼️2mo or more after the relapse incident and he didn’t try to talk to her at all!? Or explain or anything!? What the actual fuck? I mean really? At least text email or call to explain… just try so there isn’t all this hurt for months. So dumb!

👰🏼‍♀️ Virgins:
No
H was celibate for 3mo
h was celibate for 3 weeks

⛈️Separation/ 3rd Act Breakup:
UMMMMMM THE WHOLE FUCKING BOOK!
THEY ARE NOT EVEN TOGETHER FOR there to be A SEPARATION!!!!!!!?

Safety⚠️Triggers🗡️:
OWD- h walks in on H about to relapse. He is with and group of his old friends and naked girls. He doesn’t do anything. But he is w a half naked girl about to do coke.
Drug abuse
🌈Epilogue:
Yes
🥂HEA:
Yes- I guess…. I mean who the fuck cares about them 🤷🏼‍♀️

My opinion is just that… MY OPINION.
I know we all get passionate about our favorite reads and characters but we should respect each opinions a thoughts. ~Thank you

There’s a lot to like about this book, unfortunately there’s also a lot not to like about this.
First off, this is my first Natasha Madison book. I have others on my TBR but you know how that is.
I’m sorry to say I found the writing style a bit clunky. The non-use of contractions was a big part of it. In my opinion it makes everything seem a bit robotic. It is rather than it’s. I am rather than I’m etc. it made it hard for me to read the book without thinking, it wasn’t wasn’t a smooth experience.
I also found the everyday action, getting up, eating, showering, getting dressed, all of that was robotic as well and a tad bit info dumpy.
For those not familiar with the characters, they’re hard to follow, I’m still not sure what Max’s role in the organisation is, which is strange considering the over attention to the mundane details. I also found the hockey action sequences, for someone not overly familiar (I can follow, just not in great detail) really hard to understand and picture in my head.
There’s also timeline rushes, no breaks between paragraphs when the day changes that I found to follow (which could be an early formatting issue but also may not be which is why I’m mentioning it her).
Still, I loved how vulnerable Viktor was. I loved his story and how he struggled.
I liked how tough Zoe was, her attitude and how she went about things.
Together, as a couple, is great. I loved the passion they had.
All in all, I found this to be an okay book. The story is great, but the writing style made it hard for me to get lost in it like I wanted to, sorry!

This is wild? This is awful.

We begin with Viktor, a drug addict, leaving rehab. He has been clean for 60 days, but is only now going back into the real world.

He meets Zoe, who we are repeatedly told is hot. I guess that makes up for her personality failings?

Anyway, all addiction rehab programs strongly advise addicts to steer clear of romantic relationships until they have been clean for at least a year. Viktor has the hots for Zoe but knows he is not in a place to pursue a relationship yet, and explains this to her. Zoe is of course all butt hurt and rejected over this.

Time passes. At the eight month clean mark, Viktor faces his worst temptation yet when his old druggie friends come to town. He is trying to resist, and Zoe finds him, gets all butt hurt and runs off. She does not talk to him, does not do ANYTHING at all to help him, supposedly because she loves him. Loves him so much that if he does not return that love she wants nothing to do with him. Great.

Viktor manages to resist temptation, but is a wreck and calls his sponsor and team mates for help. They all rush over, but of course Zoe's brother in law has to give him hell because he made Zoe cry. Since it is obviously all about HER and Viktor's addiction is not important.

Then Zoe's sister has a talk with Viktor, telling him he has messed up by not chasing Zoe that night. Again, because it is ALL about Zoe. Never mind that Viktor is struggling with his drug addiction. Never mind that he, rightly, needs to focus on himself and not some stupid drama with a woman who supposedly "loves" him. These morons are all going to push him back onto drugs.

Anyway, it obviously all works out in the end, with Viktor choosing to break the 12 month rule. In romance land this is fine and all works out.

I hated this book so much, even though I wanted to like it. They have no clue about supporting Viktor through his addiction. Zoe's supposed great love was also infuriating. She claims to love him so much, yet is unwilling to support him unless he loves her back in the way she wants. True love, apparently.

The amount of buzz I have been hearing about this book has left a persistent ringing in my ears. If you're familiar with Natasha Madison books, you know she's not afraid to pull at your heart strings. So, when the rumor mill started turning saying this is her best work yet, I knew I needed to prepare myself. I went out and bought a giant bottle of wine, several types of candy and told the hubby he needed to occupy himself for the night because I had a date with a book. Never in a million years could I have fathomed the impact this book would leave on my heart. Never would I have guessed that a book about a recovering addict would be so relatable - so realistic - so wildly perfect. Zoe deserved an epic love story. And Viktor was just the man to give it to her.

Story Line: We meet Zoe in book one of this series (side note you don't HAVE to read This Is Crazy first, however, I recommend it for full effect since many characters are mentioned who we've already met). Zoe is super successful in the real estate business. She's good at her job, loves it and is in a really good place in her life. Then comes Viktor. He's fresh out of 90 day rehab and moving from LA to New York to play hockey. He needs a new home and whose direction do you think he's pointed in? Ding Ding Ding. Our beautiful Zoe. But that's about as basic as this story gets. From their first meeting, it's crystal clear that they are going to connect on levels you and I have never even dreamed about. There's chemistry, sure. But not a single word in the English dictionary is strong enough to fully define the relationship Zoe and Viktor develop.

Interaction: From their very first conversation, I was waving the Zoe + Viktor flags like a dang relationship cheerleader. There is just something about their dynamic that had me absolutely infatuated with them from the very start. Zoe with her positive and sassy attitude is everything Viktor needs in his life. This man and his wounds are fresh - 90 days fresh. He's starting over completely new. New city, new support system. New everything. I swear to y'all, I could feel this man's pain. I could feel his struggle deep within my bones and maybe even beyond that. Every time he woke up covered in sweat, I swear to all that is holy, I was sweating too. Viktor and Zoe are the epitome of light and darkness. She is all that is light and beautiful in this world. And Viktor is coming from complete darkness - he has fallen victim to the evil this world has to offer. But instead of letting that evil rule his life, he chooses light. Every time he and Zoe are in the same room, everything about the fictional world and the world all around me was glowing. It's like a missing puzzle piece was clicked back into place. Zoe and Viktor are just RIGHT.

Laundry: Listen. I know this blog is all about the laundry (hint, if you're new here, laundry doesn't mean laundry. Laundry = naughty time) Anyways, I need y'all to open your minds and soak this in. Ready? The laundry was not my favorite part of This Is Wild. Want to know why? Because the character development was so much more than just leading up to laundry time. Do not misunderstand me. There IS laundry. And it is EVERYTHING. But you need to be patient. Viktor is on a journey of self worth and for he and Zoe to jump in the sack from early on, literally would not make any sense. At all. So, just sip your wine, dry your tears and enjoy the wild ride.

Depth: Viktor is a recovering addict. That's not a secret. I knew this going into my one night reading binge. What I didn't know was how much this man and his story would affect me. Don't get me wrong, I shed many tears for Zoe and her character this book, but for the first time in my life, I related to the male lead a little bit more. No, I'm not a recovering addict like he is. But I do struggle every single day with a form of addiction - addiction to food. I know it's not the same and I'm not downplaying the seriousness of what he went through or what he felt. But his inner monologue hit me HARD. Viktor is a broken man trying to find his self worth after hitting rock bottom. Just typing those words brings tears to my eyes because you don't have to be an addict to know what it feels like to struggle with self worth and loving yourself. We experience the highs and lows that come with a new relationship, and the highs and lows that come with fighting inner demons. Y'all, I was certain by the 66% marker that I was going to loathe this author the rest of her life. No joke. I was nearly hyperventilating reading these words and feeling every little thing these two were feeling. Your heart is going to be put to the test. You're going to find out just how many emotions you're capable of feeling in one sitting before your heart literally combusts. But it's so worth it. Every word, every page, is written with gut wrenching passion. So prepare yourselves and be ready to meet you new favorite book.

4 Viktor and Zoe Stars

Grant me the serenity To accept the things I cannot change; Courage to change the things I can; And the wisdom to know the difference.

This is the second book in the spin off from the Something So Series (Something So Perfect , Something So Right, Something So Unscripted, Something So Irresistible ). It reads easily as a standalone and focuses on Zoe and Viktor. Zoe is the daughter of Hockey Legend Cooper Stone and his wife,Parker. She is a Realtor and is good at what she does and her brother , Matthew, asks her to help find a home for the newest member of the Stingers Ice Hockey Team, Viktor Petrov.

Zoe is a strong heroine. She and her identical twin , Zara , are a force to be reckoned with. I think the reason I didn't give five stars is because, at times , it felt as if the focus was very much on Zoe and her feelings when it was actually Viktor that was struggling with his own demons. She is a hardworking and driven character which I thought was positive and made her very likeable. She is a very loved and successful woman but sometimes she seemed a bit 'spoilt rich girl'. That said, I admired her loyalty to those she loved. I just didn't like that she was pushy at times.

Viktor...oh, Viktor. He is my kind of hero. Flawed, dark, edgy, brooding at times. He's been broken and he has been to the edge and back. There were times I thought he might go back there but he is strong enough to ask for help from those who can help him. Viktor is a recovering drug addict and this story is dark in places.

Zoe and Viktor are not intimate until nearly the end of the story so it really is a slow burn - not only that , but there is a fair bit of push and pull. Our Hero is recovering and the first year of recovery , people are advised to avoid relationships because their focus needs to be on getting well and changing their lives. I just wanted Zoe to be more mindful of that.

There is excellent banter and camaraderie , not only between the Stinger's Players but also their women. The dynamics are complicated and I had to re read a few bits to ensure I had the right combo of people. It doesn't help that nearly all the kids are named after the various adults. There are a lot of people in this series and it's lovely to catch up with old characters but I did have to really concentrate at times.

HEA? Yes. And lovely epilogues.
Cheating? No

5 Stars!

He's the bad boy from hockey starting over fresh and she's the sweet, beautiful girl that's about to steal his heart. It might seem crazy... it might be a whole lot of wild... and it's totally gonna be complicated in all the ways but together y'all... WHEW! Together they are so very undeniable, unforgettable, unstoppable, and so much better.... even if they were never supposed to cross those invisible lines to start with.

The This Is series is back with another brilliant installment in this highly addicting series and oh my goodness y'all! Not only did she deliver her best book to date (totally my opinion here!) but she blew every single expectation I had for this romance right out of the freaking water!

This is Wild was so so so good. Sexy. Swoony. Intense. Enticing. Gritty. Angsty. Deep. Unputdownable. Zoe and Viktor's journey was a slow, slow burn that'll heat you up slowly from the inside until you are burning bright and ready to combust on the outside (but so worth every moment of the wait, pinkie swear!).

Zoe and Viktor absolutely lit up my kindle from the very moment they landed on the pages y'all and honestly kept me hooked until long after the words stopped (sorry sweetie for ignoring you sooooo much!!). So many feels. So many emotions. So much chemistry. So much... everything.

Their journey was intricately, delicately, and deeply woven with two unforgettable characters (plus a whole cast of new and old ones!) and one journey that'll totally steal every piece of your heart and leave you completely breathless by the end.

I'm a huge, huge fan of Natasha and all her books and all her words but this second generation is special, different, and this author at her very, very best.

I highly recommend this book.

I liked this book……I mean seriously it’s a hockey player book so clearly I would like it but I will say I think I liked the first book in this series better. It is a REALLY slow burn so if that is your thing this is the book for you.

Both the characters are great and maybe it’s because I read the first book and this one I did as an audio book. Sometimes I like books better when I read them myself verses having them read to me. My imagination tends to be more vivid as I’m reading it and I don’t get distracted as easily.

I am absolutely going to read more books in this series and more books by this author.

This Is Wild is the second book in Natasha's This Is series but can easily be read as a standalone.

I am always hit or miss with this author so I truly never know what I am going to get. But I love her writing style so I will always give her books a chance because I truly just never know.

This Is Wild was definitely not what I expected - it was more than I anticipated. Natasha does a great job of allowing this story to play out naturally and making it all the more real.

Viktor surprised me. I truly expected him to carry this "asshole" vibe in the book and he was the complete opposite and I LOVED IT!! He still had this off limits attitude but due to his past and where he is now, he definitely grew up and we get to see him finally come into this own.

Zoe is very head strong and has no qualms about not being in a relationship. Her focus is her career and she is ok with men coming second to that. She doesn't date hockey players and has never really been drawn to any to really find that a problem. Until Viktor.

I love the flow of this book - everything was smooth and at the right pace. I love the interactions between Zoe and Viktor and how things just happened naturally.

There are ALOT of secondary characters in this book. There were so many that it almost got to be too much and at times did get a bit confusing trying to pair everyone together. I assuming the are characters from previous books but if you have not read her other books these characters are in, it may seem overwhelming. A few definitely kept things interesting but I felt some of them could have been left out as they did not add anything to the story.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and these characters. It's definitely a fave of mine from Natasha.

Viktor's story was a deep one that brought back some memories. Though my father did not battle the same addiction as Viktor it was still a battle and a very trying one as well. The meetings and the constant reliance on his sponsor are things I clearly remembered my father doing and without that emotional support I'm not sure if he would have been able to succeed.

I loved how raw and real Viktor's struggle was because despite being someone that had almost everything at his fingertips he still struggled like someone that didn't have the same luxury like him. All of this made him look more human. Zoe's friendship was something that Viktor needed and helped him to see that he was not alone and that he deserved goodness in his life.

Be prepared to go through an array of emotions with Viktor and Zoe. I truly cannot express how much I appreciate and how I've fallen in love not only with Natasha Madison's writing but the characters that feel so real and raw. Thank you for such beautiful gems and stories that leave me thinking. Kara~ 5 Brilliant Stars

I'm literally so proud of Viktor! The way he is competing with himself and pushing his feelings aside to heal faster and better was heartbreaking and simultanuously so sweet! The way that Zoe was there for him in ways she would never understand

I just love them!

Historically I have not posted any reviews. There have been a few instances where I have felt tempted, but when I have looked through the existing posts, I have found a review that covers my point of view, so I don’t feel I could add much value overall.
In this instance however, I appear to have had a largely unusual, and likely unpopular, reaction to this story. I do not read the blurbs of the stories I listen to / read, and usually base my selection on existing positive ratings, and if I enjoy a book from an author / authoress I will move on to their other titles. I say this because I had no expectations going into this story and was enjoying the characters / storyline initially. I have listened to / read a number of books that include addiction and personally known people on this path, so I found the focus on Viktor’s struggles and road to recovery engaging and relatable.
Zoe’s character is built up to be strong, determined, self-confident and at the top of game professionally. However, from the scene where she walks into the post-game party in Viktor’s apartment, I feel her EQ left much to be desired and her behavior made me feel that he deserved better.
At this point in the story they were friends, although they both had strong feelings for each other. She was fully aware of his struggles and how important his recovery was to him. He had owned his mistakes and was actively trying to keep clean. Walking into an environment like that is understandably shocking / upsetting, even if ignoring that Zoe had feeling for him. However – her reactions following the discovery was where I battled to connect with her.
If you genuinely love anyone battling with addiction, the first thing you are going to do is some research. The first website that comes up when I searched for how to support someone battling addiction includes: Educate yourself; Get support; Have realistic expectations. Basic understanding of the realities of addiction would have allowed her to decide if this was something she could deal with. If she had acknowledged that it would be too much, that would have been fine, rather than inserting herself as a friend and part of his support system, and then abandoning ship the second things go wrong.
The fact that she turned around and left is not the problem, but even if she wasn’t interested / compelled / able to help diffuse the situation, or not mentally / emotionally strong enough to try and help him in any way, she could have called his support network to get him the help he quite clearly needed. If she truly loved him, then she would not have completely deserted him in his darkest moment. Her collapse into a catatonic type state, unable to communicate or walk, also felt extreme and unrelatable.
The fact that the rest of the players and his sponsor came immediately to his aid when he reached out, was heart-warming and what I would have hoped / expected of Zoe to some degree. Although Evan’s verbal confrontation when he arrived at the apartment was uncalled for - if he (understandably) couldn’t have been supportive, or even neutral, he should have stayed away.
However, I was once again disappointed when Zara and others then proceeded to tell him how badly he messed up, not in terms of his addiction, but what his near miss meant to Zoe! Instead of lifting him up after successfully fighting off his demons in a weak moment that could have ruined his career and personal relationships, his struggle was belittled, and Zoe’s hurt feelings given precedence. Despite the fact her feelings were in no way his fault! He had clearly stated that he needed to focus on his recovery, and that he wasn’t ready or strong enough to be able to put her first. On top of this, it wasn’t that he needed forever – the program suggests a year, which is hardly unreasonable considering where he was coming from. If this was indeed true love, she, and in turn her family, would have offered support and understanding – not pressuring / rushing him to get over his issues and chase after her! It is in everyone’s best interests for him to recover before entering into a relationship.
I felt like this narrative of ‘get over it’ & ‘she deserves better’ was disappointing and belittled the struggle that recovering addicts face. She knew what he was going through from the beginning, if it was too much she could have stayed away.
I realise that Zoe did participate more in his recovery later in the story and accompanied him to a meeting etc, but by then the damage was done for me.
Of course this is just my opinion, and most other readers clearly didn’t feel this way.

⭐️ 5 "One Day at a Time" Stars ⭐️
This Is Wild was such a spellbinding read that I don’t know where to start with this review! This book is so much more than just a romance! It’s more than anything a profound story of addiction and the arduous path of recovery! Natasha Madison undoubtedly fashioned one of her most stirring story to date with her trademark touch of humour and sexiness!

Viktor Petrov is a very unusual and refreshing hero! He’s so different than the alpha men previously met in the other books of this series and its spin-off, yet there’s something deeply alluring about his reserved nature. He doesn’t express himself that much and sounds detached at first, but he has so much on his shoulders with the burden of his recovery! When he meets Zoe Stone, she brings light in his days. He slowly reveals a little bit more of himself and what an incredible guy he is. His attraction to the sassy blonde is difficult to repress, but his insecurities brought by his addiction make him distant. He just wants to be worthy of her and it’s certainly a beautiful, yet emotional journey!

I already loved Zoe from the prior novel This Is Crazy, but this time she was even more interesting. I loved how she always has some witty repartees. The defiance when the men in her life are being bossy: omg, those moments are just hilarious. Her friendship with Viktor is instant and truly sweet. She’s very thoughtful and comprehensive of Viktor’s personal battle.

The slow burn was crazy slow and I was dying for this couple to get together, but at the same time it was just so impeccably executed. The pent up feelings and heartbreak that lead to them getting together had me in tears of sadness and joy. I was overwhelmed by the beauty of Zoe and Viktor that left me breathless more than once!

In the middle of all these poignant feelings, there’s hilarious scenes too. I can’t express how much I love the Stone family and their antics. The men are a riot and the girls are the best to push their buttons with sassiness. But this family is also fiercely protective and supportive. I just love them so much!

I can’t get over how much I adore this world! This gripping story is a must read and will have you awestruck for sure! Natasha Madison delivers all the swoon-worthy, sexy, funny moments and more in This Is Wild! Now, I’m just so intrigued about Vivienne and Mark’s story! Omg, their book will be another fantastic read I’m sure!

Natasha Madison you really did it again lady. I knew I was in for a wild ride when I saw this was Zoe's book. And it did not disappoint. But there was so much more to this book than what I thought it would be.

Zoe is the twin sis of Zara and when you read her in the previous books she was the wild one. Take no prisoners but she is hardworking and a successful estate agent and loves her family fiercely. When she met Viktor she knew that it couldn't go anywhere. First of all he was a hockey player, and secondly he is in rehab. But she also sees a struggling guy who is hurting and maybe he needs someone like her.

Viktor just got out of rehab, and was surprised that Matthew Grant wanted him to play for his team. What he didn't expect was to meet Zoe and everyone else that comes with her. A support structure. People that actually cares about you and your wellbeing. He knew this road wasn't going to be easy but he didn't think it would be so hard either. So when he meets Zoe he knows that he is just out of rehab and he couldn't get involved with anyone. Even though the attraction is is totally there they decide to be friends instead. Its fun and sometimes a bit flirty, and he can't deny that she somehow becomes his light in this dark tunnel that he is in. But is it what he needs right now?

From the moment we were introduced to Viktor I was in love. He was broken, he hit rock bottom and he is dragging himself up one day at a time. And I admired him for that. He knows he made mistakes and he was trying to find the man he's suppose to be. Zoe, I think she was exactly what he needed. She was thoughtful and she was encouraging and she was helping him even when she didn't know it. Everything about this story, was just on point. There was sadness, anger, heartbreaking, hilarious, LOL moments and most of all there was love. I think this one is my favourite one so far.

Wow, Wow, Wow!!! If you want a story that's going to bring ALL the feels, this is the one.

Viktor is an amazing hockey player who ended up humiliated and lost thanks to his wild partying. Just when he thought everything was lost, Matthew Grant sees beyond the haunted man who's hurting and trying to come on top and drafts him to his team in New York City. Is there where Viktor meets Zoe Grant, the sassy, independent, and very successful realtor who helps him find an apartment, and the sister of his boss, the man who gave him a chance when no one else would. Could Zoe be the strong woman Viktor needs to make him a better man?

This story is raw when it comes to Viktor and his fight with his demons, but as much as it is raw, it feels very real. Viktor's battle is something that a lot of people are doing their best to win every day and was treated with respect and compassion throughout the story. Madison treated his character as a man who had a great deal of difficulty in his past, a man who made mistakes, but also a man who is doing his best to overcome the person he used to be and one who is worthy of Zoe, the woman he can't stop thinking about. There are parts that are so incredibly sad in this book, but you have hilarious ones to go along with the sorrowful ones.

Without a doubt this book is phenomenal, one of the better ones I've read lately thanks to the subject matter, the humanity of it all, and the regard shown to everyone fighting with addiction every hour of every day.

Highly recommended!!!

I have a soft spot for hockey romance books and this one was definitely more than a sports romance. This was the journey of Victor. His overcoming cocain addiction and finding the love&support. It was about struggling every day to become a better person (Those are the words of Ms Natasha Madison). The addiction here was not sugarcoated. The romance was slow burn. Whole story was so well written. h was Zoe Stone who was the twin sister of Zara from previous book but I must say that Victor's story was the main theme of this book. Viktor’s twelve step program, his struggling and the support he got from his new team in New York. Ms Madison writes excellent epilogues, I really enjoy listening her stories. What I liked most was seeing the previous characters from the other books. Everything was so beautiful. 4,25 stars...

VIKTOR IS EVERYTHING ❤️❤️❤️

I really loved the journey between Viktor and Zoe. This was a more emotional read than some of Natasha's other books and let me tell you, she hit the mark on this one! Viktor and Zoe are such beautiful and pure characters, I didn't know if my heart could take the pounding it received.

Zoe is selfless and fierce in the way she loves. She doesn't judge and that's exactly what Viktor needs in his life. I admired and loved Viktor's dedication to beating his addiction. He was all in and it showed every step of the way. These two stole my heart and their journey is one of the best I've seen.

This is Wild is a story nothing like I’ve ever read. Viktor and Zoe’s story was one of friendship, love, family, and addiction. I have never met a hero quite like Viktor and I have to say, he made me cry numerous times as I just completely felt his pain. What starts out as a friendship between Viktor and Zoe is so refreshing, their banter fun, yet she never once judges him for all that he has gone through and is going through. The slow burn was absolutely fantastic and when rock bottom hits, you feel it along with the couple with every ounce of your being. Overall, I enjoyed every single moment of This is Wild and I highly recommend this book.

***ARC Provided by the Author***

Addiction is not an easy topic to tackle in any book, no matter the genre. Add in the expectations of it being in a romance, and the pressure to not only tell an authentic story but also keep you on the side of the characters is that much harder. They can be flawed, but not too flawed...it's a romance, after all.

I thought the balance of this was handled very well. It kept the romance, it allowed you to understand why Zoe falls in love with Viktor; why he feels she is too good for him/he isn't good enough for her; and why he got to where he is now, to where he was, and why he will never go back there again. (To this point, I loved the tiny flash forward at the end. It's a book about addiction...but it's also a romance, so you know there will be a "Happily Ever After" but, it was still kind of nice to see it play out, just a little bit.

There was a lot about this book that I enjoyed. The romance, the slow burn friendship while both believe (accurately, for a while I think) that they can't have more, that he has to focus on himself, their connection, Zoe's giving heart and how much she loves Viktor, knowing she shouldn't and that he warned her not to.

But, the thing that really stood out to me was how well he knows himself. Yes, it's a struggle at first as he realizes he had lost himself. But, through it all, there is a mindfulness and intentional approach to his recovery that he maintains. He believes in what he is doing, he is open and upfront about it, and he makes sure that he makes the decisions that will guide him to it. He is invested, he is all in with his recovery, and it makes it easy for the reader (and Zoe) to be drawn to him and to want him to succeed...romance and wanting Zoe and Viktor to get together aside.

I also really liked Zoe and how she fell in love with him, flaws and all. She was able to see past the addict, and his past, and see the person that he was even during the addiction that was lost, covered up, by the drugs but still hiding in the corner. I loved that she sees him, from the beginning, and that each thing he tells her, each of his struggles, each of the things she sees that are less than positive are things that he has overcome, that she is proud of him for getting past.

Yes, this is a romance, and it is a dual POV, but in a lot of ways, this is Viktor's story. Zoe is an important part of it, and she is one of the things that helps anchor him...but, at the same time, the person who is really responsible for moving him forward is Viktor himself.

I enjoyed and recommend this title.
