Leah’s journey of self-discovery continues in Liatris, a charming and bustling town home to a new tribe of centaurs. Despite the breathtaking plains and the hope to form an alliance with the plains tribe, Leah’s emotions are running high with her grandmother’s unexpected return and the limited time she has left with her sister.
Struggling with anger and distrust, Leah finds herself blocked from her own magic… Except, of course, when it reacts to her negativity in a wild and explosive way.
Can Leah learn to control her fiery fae blood and unleash her magic? If she can’t, she’ll not only fail going up against Crain in the future, but she also risks losing everything she loves, including her power.
Hey! I'm Amy, a fantasy romance author, jewelry designer, wife, and furmom to two golden retrievers and one kitty.
The Centaur Tribe series is a fantasy romance slow burn with a brooding alpha male, a young woman who learns her strengths and abilities while learning her self worth, and fantastic banter!
The third book in The Centaur Tribe series may be the best yet. Seeing Leah come into her own and handle things the Leah from book 1 could never have handled is inspiring—this is REAL character growth and the reader gets to see her adapting to and thriving in the new life she was thrust into. I don't want to be too spoilery with reviews, but the dynamic of the tense relationship between herself and a certain long-lost someone was amazing to see play out in this book, and the entire tale here in book 3 gives clear and exciting vibes of ramping up for grand adventure in book 4 while giving us time with so many characters and developing them. Like Paige, GIRL...and Garrett! Ack. It's hard to avoid spoilers in a review, but suffice to say I really enjoyed the growth of the tribe in this book and I can't wait to see what comes next.
Fiona side story? HA. Just horsing around. But she ended up being surprisingly cool (I guess I expect most people in positions like hers to be, uh, not so nice) and I loved her interactions with Leah and the tribe!
Leah is learning to grasp her magical fae powers, and learns how to use faerudite.
It centres a lot around Leah's relationship with her tribe and family members.
The tribe attempt to form an alliance with the plains faction.
There are 2 odd characters - Tristan & Garrett, who complicate everyone's lives.
I like how the side characters appear and are written (the plains faction commander, Fiona)
The majority of the plot is set in Liatris.
There is a continuation to the story, with defeating Crain, and travelling to the mountains, which isn't in this book. So I presume it'll be written about in the next part.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading "Secrets and Magic," the third book in The Centaur Tribe series! As a fan of the series, I had been eagerly waiting for its release and it did not disappoint.
The story follows Leah on her journey as she grapples with her use of magic and uncovers intriguing secrets about her heritage, hometown, and family. From start to finish, the book held my interest with its well-paced plot and appropriately-sized chapters.
I particularly appreciated the book's dialogue-heavy nature, which made the characters' conversations feel authentic and relatable. Speaking of characters, they were all flawed and realistic, which added depth to the story. There were also some unexpected twists and the introduction of a new character whom I adore.
Additionally, the book's increasing focus on romance added a layer of spice to the story without overshadowing the main plot.
Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys fantasy romance, strong female protagonists, and character transformation. It's a great addition to The Centaur Tribe series and I can't wait to read the next installment.
This is the third installment of Amy Lee’s Centaur Tribe series. If you haven’t started reading the series yet, I suggest you dive into the first two books… seriously don’t wait! Also these reviews will be spoilery (yes it’s a word… in my head) if you haven’t read the first two books. The Deep Pine tribe made it to their destination in the last book… with some big surprises. This book picks right up where Amy Left us hanging… (yeah I’m giving side eye) This book deals with trust issues and self confidence all around. Leah, Dom, even Claire. We get to dig a little deeper into how the heck the girls’ grandma is just out here all alive! We get to see Leah exploring her magical side and working through some family issues. We get to explore a centaur town. Loved how Amy painted a picture into my mind. I felt like I was exploring right along with the tribe. We even have a spicy scene 🥵 I mean Leah deserves a little action right? (Steamy probably to some… but really spice level is up to interpretation) Nothing is tied up into a neat little bow… cause there is another book in the works. However it doesn’t leave you hanging with a big cliffhanger. Just leaves you wanting more, as all good series books should do. Thanks Amy for letting me beta read this sweet & spicy book. I’m already looking forward to the fourth book! I’m sure Leah is gonna kick some ass! Note: this book will have some trigger warnings, please read them before diving in.
Leah has began to accept herself as being part of the tribe but as she continues on her journey so too do the tribe and when rumours of another centaur tribe come about it is time for decisions to be made by all. With Leah having now become much stronger and able to stand up for herself she is now not going to simply bow down to what others decide for her and so it is time for more decisions to be made by both people and centaurs alike.
This is the third book in the series and for me has the strongest story and the one which stood out for the character development and the fact that the entire story is moving forward without it feeling forced but with a little bit more editing error than previous offerings it unfortunately scores less due to this.
I see this series developing well and hope that the editing will be sorted out to push the series to a higher gear than anything that has come before.
Secrets and Magic is the third installment of the Centaur Tribes by Amy Lee. It starts immediately where book 2 left off and is not a standalone. Leah finds herself in a new town with the tribe and Claire. Unfortunately, the two sisters are still at odds and Leah laments this quite often. Tensions are high within the tribe as while dealing with the repercussions of betrayal. A lot of soul searching occurs in this one. If you’re looking for an action-packed book this is probably not the one for you. I couldn’t help feeling proud of Leah, the changes in her are uplifting. Fans who want a fantasy twist along the lines of little women (while not completely about the bonds among sisters it has the same family feel) should definitely pick it up. I received an advance reader copy and am leaving this review of my volition.
Talk about character growth! Leah has grown so much from the start of this series and I’ve loved reading it. She is still learning and I’m excited to see her step even more into who she is and what she can’t do in the next book! Don was as always incredible to her. The tension and conversations between Leah and her grandma felt very well done and I liked how their relationship progressed through the book. Tristan can kick rocks😂 Amy somehow managed to set this book up with mainly character focus but it didn’t drag like some books tend to do. Overall I think this was a good set up for the next book we definitely get a sense of adventure to come and I can’t wait!
Thank you Amy for allowing me to be an arc for you.
I really enjoyed this third book in the Centaur tribe series! Each book in the series has gone a little deeper into character development as the story line advances. This is my favorite of the three as we learn more about Leah and Claire’s family and the Forest tribe journeys to the Plains. To reconnect with those previously thought lost.
Leah also learns a little more about her magic. I am in love with this little community and the relationships that are growing and evolving. Excited about the fourth book and seeing how the story lines all come together!!
I am grateful to the Amy Lee for an advanced readers copy! The opinions on their review are my own and voluntary!
As usual Amy Lee has done it again. I enjoyed this book a lot. Leah’s journey has been an amazing one that’s not over yet. She still has a lot to accomplish and I can’t wait to continue reading her story. This book was mostly about finding herself and reconnecting with people from the past. It was an amazing read. I definitely want more about Claire now because she started to act weird but I also need more leah and Dom like yesterday. I already can’t wait for book 4 and will be pushing Amy Lee to finish it up soon. Spice: 0 Steam: .5 Sweetness: 💗💗💗💗
I find this world that Amy Lee created a very loving and comforting. This book has so many topics embedded in it’s pages: found friends and family, betrayal, finding yourself, magic, love and so much more. This is book 3 in the series it follows Leah who with circumstances in her life discovers that there is so much more in the world she doesn’t know when she finds a centaur tribe. Then must learn to grow to handle the challenges life through a at her. I have been along for Leah’s journey since book one was released and I have loved every minute of it. I can’t wait for more!
this is the 3rd book in the Centaur Tribe Series, and Amy did not let us down, yet again! It's been a while since I've arc read the first 2, but once I got started, I was pulled into the world, which is so beautifully created. It's not like anything I've ever read, and the way Amy executes it is *chefs kiss*. This book had a lot of growth for Leah, we love to see it. I think it's also important to note that Claire, Leah's sister, had some growth too. If you have not read this series yet, RUN 🏃♀️ !!!
I absolutely love this world and these characters! I feel like they're my real life friends at this point. I've spent so much time with them that they're just a part of me now. I'm SO excited to see where we go from here! There were so many reveals and so many questions answered in this book... and then I immediately had 1000 more 🤣 Also! The WAY I fell in love with Garrett and the way that tells you WAY too much about me 😂
I received this as an advanced reader copy. I read the first two as they came out and truly have enjoyed them. There is a great deal of character development. I love how you see the main character, Leah really discover who she is, that she is a powerful, capable, independent young woman despite everything she was taught growing up. I would qualify this as a more friends to lovers storyline and usually I read enemies to lovers but there is just something special about the centaurs!
I really enjoy this series, but I found it hard to rate this 3th book. I really enjoyed it, and I liked Leah's growth as a character (which was done/written very well), but overall I liked the 1st and 2nd book more, so I'll have to rate this one lower. I enjoyed getting to know new characters and getting some answers to certain questions. I also can't wait for the next book since we were given an idea as to what that one is gonna be about. :)
Every time I get ahold of Amy's new book, I devour every single bite. I love following Leah's journey. I cheered with her growth, wanted to protect her when things got tough and loved all her interactions with all the characters (Tristan deserves more than a broken nose though). Garrett quickly became a new favorite and I cannot wait to see how everything ends.
Omg she did it again! I had wondered how this story was going to get any better and then it did. I still hate the bratty sister. ( May start a off Claire petition.)
I won’t spoil anything but you want to read this one.
I'm LOVING where the story is going! Leah and Dom's friendship evolving to where it is now is absolutely phenomenal. All the characters I feel are like so thought out. It's amazing. I feel like my review is so random but I don't wanna say too much if you havent read it. Just read the series please!
I just absolutely love this series and can’t wait for the next book! This book gave so much more depth into the characters and the adventures they went on and the struggles they endured made each character much better!
this is definitely worth the read, the series for me started out slow but picked up. this book in itself was amazing. I really enjoyed reading it and it was well-written.
The third installment of The Centaur Tribe series does not disappoint.
Leah really comes into her own in this book. She tries to come to terms with her sister and their future, as well as the history with her Grandmother. Now knowing her lineage, she also realizes that she needs to train in order to harness her powers. Her relationship with Dom grows and there might even be a bit of spice in this story.
This story is more of politics and intrigue as opposed to action and adventure. Taking place in a new town and understanding their ways, while dealing with internal tribe relationships and politics when a looming decision for each member hung over their heads. The tribal politics really came to the fore in this installment. I liked the addition of Fiona to the story. It will be interesting to see how the tribes interact in future books.
Really looking forward to the book 4 in this series!
Special thanks to the author for this ARC. All thoughts in this review are honest and my own.
There’s nothing I can say that will do it justice, but I love this book! I love this whole series. In all of my fantasy reading and general escapism, I never thought I’d be so concerned with the well-being of centaurs…but I AM. Book 3 of the Centaur Tribe had me all kinds of emotional from angry and pissy, to worried and sad, and all the way to ridiculously happy!
I’m gonna say it again: F*CK TRISTAN. But omg Leah and Dom and Braeden (he’s precious and must be protected) live rent free in my head now, and even Clair and Edina get a pass (for now). I loved getting to know the Plains tribe better and seeing the dynamics change! Fiona is a badass but I get the feeling that she’s……well I’ll just have to wait to see if I’m right 😂 Secrets & Magic hasn’t even released yet and I’m already screaming for book 4! I can’t wait to see what happens with our tribe next!
So not my favorite out of the three but I still love this story and reading about Leah's growth and journey. This book had a lot of growth for all of the characters and even though there was a lot of closure with some not so liked characters from book 2 i was not won over to their side. There are more secrets relieved and hints to a big surprise that was left hanging i assume for book 4. I am not sure how many book planned for this series but from the build up in this book the next one will definitely be an adventure.
