"Susannah is a b*tch." If you asked any of the residents of Maxton what they thought of me, it would basically boil down to that. In reality, I have a huge secret. One that I've been keeping for nearly a decade to protect someone I love. If I had to wear a mask to keep people at arm's length and away from the truth, then so be it. At least I had my best friend and lover, Quinn, to fortify me. However, being turned into an Omega-by a divine act to prevent the extinction of the Manix-has really screwed up my plans. Now Quinn and I are forced to hide from our old Alpha in the house of Merrick and Murphy, whose hearts I broke so many years ago. Merrick and Murphy had been my teenage dream, my ideal Alphas. But dreams can quickly become nightmares, and my boogieman was all too real. When my whole world burns to the ground, will my dream Alphas even dare to give me their hearts again, or have I ruined my chances forever? And would the town cast me out when they realized who else has been starring in my dirtiest fantasies? Crave is Book Four in the Shadow Bred series. It is a polyamorous reverse harem romance with all the love, both inside and outside of the bedroom.
When I was nine, my grandmother and her friends used to read and swap Harlequin Mills and Boons novels. When I was busted reading one, they started sneaking me boxes full of strong heroines and rugged men. Thus started a long love affair with the romance genre. Then I discovered urban fantasy, and fell in love with broody Alphas and sexy paranormals, and combining them together was a no brainer. Then I discovered Reverse Harem.... Oh my. Why choose, am I right?
All my stars are for Tanner. That sexy vampire doctor deserves the whole world.
I wasn't a big fan of the ghost plotline, tho. And overall, the pace was a bit over the place and we got too many new love interests introduced past the 60% mark for things to make truly sense. But hey, this was still a fun read and a cute conclusion to this series.
Listen... it's not that I didn't have a good time, but this wasn't really the thrilling conclusion to this series that I wanted...
I won't do a synopsis seeing that this is the fourth in a series, but just know this is chock full of omegaverse goodness.
There was just a lot going on in here for such a short story. This story runs parallel with book 3 and it was just... SO much to being a story with. Based on the original synopsis I was prepared for Suzannah to end up with three mates: Murphy, Merrick, and Quinn. And then in walks sexy vampire doctor man. Now you KNOW I'm always down for a sexy vampire doctor man, so while I was befuddled I was like "hell yeah, lets get it".
And then comes in secret witch man from like 15 years ago? What a RANDOM throw in at like 75% of the way through, but okay, sexy witch man. Seduce me. BUT THEN. THEN! Sexy witch man comes with a secret ghost twin who has secretly been there the whole time and can sort of touch you but also not? WHAT? If you're keeping score, we've climbed from from 3 mates to like 5 and a half. And the last 3(ish) don't get even INTRODUCED until you're 3/4ths of the way through the book. Fuckign WHIPLASH. And tbh I wasn't that thrilled about sexy magic man to begin with, but I think I could have swallowed that pill because he was very sexy and also cool. But ghost brother? not a fan. I didn't dislike him as a character but my god was he hard to get on board with as a love interest.
Now normally multiple love interests are not a problem for me; I mean, I'm reading a poly omegaverse romance. I know what I signed up for, but I think the magic of Grace McGinty books is that you usually get TONS of time to sit with each character and learn about them, so it doesn't feel like you're getting about 5 huge cat/turtle men thrown in your face, not to mention the lore that has to come with worldbuilding. In Manix, the first book of this series, 95% of the book is just domestic scenes between the characters, and that's why is was such a delight to read; I'm not really in this series for big battles or political opposition. But not only was this book rushed plot wise, it left approximately zero time to sit with each character and really understand why they all fit together and make a pack.
I love McGinty's writing style, but I just wish some more thought had been put into the plot vs. character development balance. This story was missing the domestic sparkle that the other three had, which means it really wasn't my favourite. That said, I was able to get though this relatively quickly and I did love getting to visit the world in here one last time. But the author has alluded to the fact that there could be more books in this series, and I personally would really like that; mostly because I like the story, but also because I don't really want to have ended a series I love so much to end on my least favourite.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Personally I think it almost felt like everyone who’d ever been nice to them became a romantic partner. It was like the way a bond has been described to be special it almost wasn’t. At least it felt that way in the last 50%. I was so in love with the storyline and the plot twist as the characters fell in love but I almost didn’t finish at 75% because I was like wtf. Like you’ve cultivated these pairing just to carelessly throw in a twist. That twist wasn’t even built out and than we got a rushed ending. Not my favorite piece by this author.
I’m not ready to say goodbye to this series. Grace McGinty you’ve done it again but please consider writing a spin off series in the same world I didn’t get enough of manix
Checked out with kindle unlimited, April 2023. I loved this book of the series the best overall. Recommend the series if you are looking for a good shapeshifter world with awesome characters.
This was a great finale to the Shadow Bred Series. I’m making my way through all of Grace McGinty’s books and several series interconnect so I’ve been pushing through those before I take a break.
First, I LOVED EVERY SINGLE BOOK SO FAR. I would 100% recommend any of McGinty’s books. The PNR world she has created is FANTASTIC!!!!
I really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would because the FMC was a b*tch in previous books, so I thought I wouldn’t like her, but I was so WRONG! Some reviewers also complained about the late additions to her pack but I didn’t see it like that, I think there was an obvious connection between them from early in the book so it was no surprise to me.
I do ALWAYS feel like we could use more information about the characters but that’s true for every McGinty book. She gives them all complex back stories but it’s just briefly mentioned and I’m always like “whoa hold up, what happened?? Tell me more!” But nope. That’s all I get….
All the books in the PNR world are menage/ RH with swords crossing in most. Love is Love so I’m super happy about any author that embraces that ideology (monsters/ aliens/ trans/ nonbinary/ whatever).
***GENERAL THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS AUTHOR***
I noticed there’s a broad range of spice in McGinty books, where some are WAY steamier than others. Even among the same series it greatly varies. I prefer ALOT of spice, bordering on erotica. I love that some books are that way but super disappointed when some are lacking. I find the inconsistency super annoying and it’s my biggest pet peeve with this author.
Actually…. I take that back, my BIGGEST pet peeve is how all the books just sort of end, like there might be more books about the characters but there never is. Most books feel unfinished with large portions of the story left up in the air. I guess what I’m saying is they never wrap up clean with a neat little bow. I’m always left wondering things like….did everything turn out ok?….what happened to that side character we learned so much about?….were they safe after the book ended?….did they have kids?….did the non-sexual relationships evolve into more (never say never as quoted by one character in this book)? I prefer a more complete story wrap up especially when I’m so invested in the series/ world and have read several books that include those characters.
No spoilers - vague references this is book 4 to an amazing series hard to review without some references. If your reading reviews to book 4 just try it, you'll love it. Plot: Omg yes! This is exactly what we needed after that insanity that happened in book 3. The flash back was 100% necessary and it explained sooooo much. I also loved getting to see that side of certain characters. Jumping to current day so much happens but it seems like were getting to a good place. Both for a jumble of characters and for the Manix as a whole. I really love this series as a whole and more specifically this collection of characters. Characters: I adore these characters. Our omega(s) have a bond unlike any other and it's honestly really refreshing to read with so much DR and Bully romance seeming to be popular rn. Also who knew our Alphas had first names? I always thought those WERE there first names. Am I alone in this? Our essentric additions make for a quirky bunch and it reminds me of certain prior McGinty characters and I love it. We also get a suprise view of Dark River and some of our favorites including Raine and the gang. Spice: Listen its an omegaverse theres spice, and it's a McGinty spice so its 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 but it's not every other page spice. Theres some serious plot that needs to happen and it does. But, BUT, theres a particular scene that shes been promising fans that does happen in this book. So 😉😉😉 if your a long time fan when you know, you'll know. Overall scores: Plot 💜💜💜💜💜 Characters 💙💙💙💙💙 Spicy 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 But then again it's a McGinty book, did you expect anything different?
***Trigger Warnings - Spousal abuse from prior pack is mentioned***
Well I have to say, I had been meaning to read this series for such a long time that when I heard we were getting a 4th book, I just knew it was the right time to dive in. And by god, what an adventure!!! It was so well written with plenty of drama, action, diversity, love and friendship, old prejudices, grudges and plenty of twists.
I really love that the natural progression of the relationships is such a huge part of the storyline and not just the hot and steamy. Don't get me wrong, because oohh boy, I'm loving that too but I am glad that the depth and growth of the characters wasn't overshadowed. I think it has the perfect blend.
The bond between Susannah and Quinn radiates love and respect and it is a true partnership. Her attitude in previous books is now reasonable and understandable. She is super protective of him and prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure that Quinn's happiness. Susannah probably would have made an awesome alpha.
It was amazing to see characters from previous series' and with the introductions of new characters, I really hope that this interconnecting world continues and we see more amazing books come from it. Fingers crossed.x
So I've finally finished the recommended order after struggling lol. I'd rate the whole four books on this specific circuit as a 3. I'd rate the universe maybe a 3.5 rounded to a 4 mainly because I liked the damnation duet. And maybe 1 or 2 of the others.
Kind of terrible, but better than the previous books in this series.
The Good: - I was into the over-arching plot in this final book and I've also kinda enjoyed the overlapping timelines in this series and getting to see certain events - like the attempted coup - from different character POVs. - Suzannah - I LOVE when a female character who other perceive as a bitch finally gets their own POV. She was complex and flawed, and I feel like she deserved better than this book. - Tanner - such a cutie! I didn't know that Vampire Golden Retriever was something that I needed in my life. - Moonstone - I love the idea of this town where witches and manix live together symbiotically. Will Loren get his own book?
The Bad: The usuals. This author is nothing if not consistent in her shortcomings. - Unbalanced harem - breaks the unofficial rule of all love interests being equal. Suzannah will always choose Quinn over the others, followed by Meritt/Murphy, with the remaining two being lowest on the pecking order. - Last minute afterthought love interest- I liked Jericho and wanted to know more about him, but he was thrown in so late in the game that I could count his POV scenes on one hand. Again, it goes back to imbalance. His POV scenes should've started at the beginning, just like the other guys. I know this is just fiction, but it bothers my sense of fairness. I felt the same way about the last-minute wendigo in the other book. - speaking of the last-minute wendigo in the other book. Isn't Jericho a bit of a copy/paste? Isolated, lonely, broody. Haunted by a ghostly entity that speaks to him in his head. They are basically the same character, done dirty by the author for a second time. - Murphy/Merritt - Why are they two separate characters? Why? They are THE SAME PERSON. They're so much alike, that I kept forgetting which of them was the POV character and didn't take the time to back up and find out, because it didn't matter. They're the exact same guy.
It's sad, because when I started this universe, with Hell's Redemption and Damnation MC, I was impressed by what a good job the author did at making each character feel layered and unique. What happened to that? Is it a matter of loosening her standards to crank out more books? Or being in a hurry to finish the series? I don't get it.
"I was once again that boy holding the girl he loved until the sun lit the sky, then I'd wander back home, counting down the hours until I could be with her again."
Crave is the fourth novel in the NA Why Choose Paranormal Omegaverse series, Shadow Bred. In the world of Shadow Bred exists a species known as Manix, a shifter like being alongside witches, vampires, and werewolves. The Manix are unique in the breeding practice as their packs require female and male omegas to procreate...with the male omega carrying the cubs to term.
In this story we follow the journey of two omegas, Quinn and Susannah. These two have loved and cared for each other for over a decade, trapped with a brutal pack. Quinn having desperately sought ways to hide his omega status he was forced to join and Susannah as she clung to whatever ways she could remain by his side despite her Beta status. Yet things have changed when an act of nature turned all unmated beta females into omegas, a species in Manix that has since been dying out. Now Quinn and Susannah have to make a choice, will they remain stuck with a pack they never truly connected with and yearn to get away from or will they take a chance with two men they adored as teenagers but could never be with. There choice must be made quickly before the truth of them is brought to light...
I had a lot of fun with this book. Quinn and Susannah are adorable and fierce. I love their endless capacity to find love and offer it to others. I initially thought this was going to be angsty but it ended up nothing like that. There are also more members in this pack than initially said in the plot summary which is a fun twist (I won't spoil too much but there will be more characters to come. Merrick and Murphy play these cinnamon role alpha characters that added such cosiness to the story, especially given the trauma the two Omegas endured prior to this book I appreciated the healing it provided.
The more characters that arrive provide additional spice to the dynamics and I had no idea what I was in for...but I found it fun and befitting of this eclectic series.
In terms of spice...five spicy peppers out of five spicy peppers as there are group scenes, male/female, male/male, male/female/male, and more. There are also heat scenes and knotting so just keep that in mind. If you enjoy well written Omegaverse then this spice will be right up your alley.
For the world of this book, you get some more interesting tidbits added to provide more nuance to the setting. I do recommend refreshing yourself of the other three books as the world building here doesn't make sense if you don't have the context. It's light additions but they provide freshness to the world.
The story is a little on the light side here. The character building is fun and easy to dive into. I would say things felt a little superficial in some areas (ie. the conflicts aren't really that concerning) BUT not in a bad way. This is a lighter and easier read as a result and one I was able to CONSUME in 24 hours. You get some tension and angst with plot twists but they are tampered by character relationships and bonding. I didn't feel worried things were going to go wrong and they made throwing myself headlong in the journey enjoyable. Also the epilogue is incredible sweet to cap things off.
Overall, this was a fun read and I was able to dive in quite easily. I enjoy the premise of this series and can't wait what more the author will have in store for us!
It is a little problematic, that I can't remember every detail of the former books in the series. I knew what happened, because even though the break is huge, I generally have a good memory. So, the plot is in mind. But keep all characters straight and who did what or did say beside that (when they weren't the main focus), is a little difficult. Though, I luckily have my former reviews (except for Manix - unfortunately, some reviews disappeared. I have written with the Goodreads support, and I know they're working on it. But I still don't know if all reviews will be restored with time.)
At least, there are always things, I don't need to jump start. Like, I remembered how terrible Wilkie and his cohorts were. And the old Alpha General. I know Susannah was mentioned in the books and shown. I was exited for their story. But I can't remember the exact interactions. Of course, I remember Murphy and Merrick. I really wished for a HEA for them, and they finally got it.
But whatever was with Susannah in the former books, it would have been redeemed after reading the prologue and all the terrible things I know Wilkie did to her and Quinn.
Of course, I'm glad the guy is now history. And I stand with my former reviews in this series, that change is a good and overdue in the Manix society. I loved the development and that in this book variety was a big theme. The adding of Tanner and Jericho, as well as the surprise ghost Bowie. I loved it. It definitely is a new leaf in the Manix world.
I enjoyed the little glimpses of our favorite Dark River characters, either. I still have to read the last book of Raine and her guys. I don't really read in order as it is. The first series I read of Grace McGinty was indeed the Dark River Days series (until book 3), then it was announced there will be more. But no one knew when it will be out. Then there was Manix/Shadow Bred series. In between came the Eden Academy, which I still haven't read. Not to forget her other Omegaverse with Tryst in the Dark. So, I kinda get lost and read just how I got the books, and what I was in the mood for.
I know that this book is probably the last in this series. It's sad to leave this world, but know Grace is great with surprises, and I don't think this is the last time we saw any of the former characters. So, hopefully we will see more. But it will be probably another species. So, let's see what this amazing author comes up with.
Then the epilogue:
Otherwise, I can't complaint. I loved it. So, I gave it 5 stars.
Although I didn't love this one, I am so sad to be leaving this world. I started Manix (book 1) on a whim to try something wildly different than my typical books - and oh did it deliver! This series has been my first dive into mpreg. I also haven't read a ton of omegeverse books..., so I dove into mpreg pretty quickly while on this journey. And I have NO REGRETS. We have met almost all the characters in this book in books 1-3. We knew going into this one that Susannah was in an abusive pack. We have met and loved Merrick and Murphy (two alphas). We knew that Susannah was the only "mated" beta female that turned omega. And we know Quinn, a beta male that is mated to Susannah. We also know and have met Tanner, the vampire currently working with the Manix as the town doctor. A new character that we meet at the very beginning of this one is Jericho. Jericho is a witch (warlock?!?) that Quinn and Susannah ran into when they tried to run away as young adults. Quinn's parents promised him to another pack that was abusive. Quinn started to show signs of a latent Omega and they decided to run away. They ran into Jericho who helped them with pills that would suppress Quinn's Omeganess. Jericho also has SECRETS! So many secrets. I'll leave his whole wild storyline for the reader to enjoy but it gets WEIRD. Weird in a good way though, I think.
So Maxton burns down (as we already know) and they end up on their own journey to safety. This journey involves abuse, murder, travelling, yearning, an unexpected heat, orgies, vampire council hearings, more travel, investigations, accusations, scarlet letter type drama, and twists and turns.
Susannah's pack ends up being an amalgamation of characters. Overall, I am pleased with her pack and they way they came together. They all made sense except for two members. There was not enough relationship/plot development to convince me of the pairing between Susannah and those two. I won't say who but it will be very obvious once the book is read. Once again, I missed having betas in a pack and I also missed having a ton of mm action. Its present in this book but NOT the focus. The author rushed the ending and we once again missed out on some key scenes relating to mating and their future.
Overall, this series was unique and spectacular. I enjoyed the writing and look forward to more by this author.
Loved the characters and the plot of this one!! Hooray because this series was hit or miss for me.
I loved how the book really celebrated queer love and sexual fluidity. Merrick and Murphy’s relationship was described so beautifully and it was nice to see other characters explore their sexuality as the pack was being built.
I was obsessed with Susannah and Quinn (the loyalty! The devotion!!) and I’ve loved Merrick and Murphy throughout the series. Plus Tanner is really well written and funny AND we get a new witch character?? Sign me up
*spoilers*
Now Bowie I could take or leave tbh but who cares this series has always sort of been ~weird~ just for weirdness sake so I’ll take a fluidly corporeal ghost twin vs some of the other weird shit from past books. He just didn’t really add anything for me.
The overlapping timelines throughout the series is still a big challenge but this book being the most current (and final?) made it the the easiest to understand since a big portion was in Moonburst/after the events of book 3.
The entire arrest/trial/Quinn’s parents framing Susannah plot point was honestly dumb. It didn’t make sense with the new leaf they’re turning over with a better society and then Quinn’s parents basically get a slap on the wrist? Who cares about banishment when they can live anywhere normally.. if they had succeeded in framing Susannah she would’ve been put to death…. NAH
But overall had a great time

It’s kind of hard to explain to people I love this weird cat shifter character series, but I’m sad to see it end.
📔 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗜𝗻𝗼: Crave by Grace McGinty, the fourth and final book in the Shadow Bred character series.
📚𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲: Shifter romance, Omegaverse
📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: Susannah and Quinn have always been attached at the hip. As they become omegas and escape their abusive pack, they find solace with childhood friends and alphas Merrick & Murphy.
🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: Man I’m going to miss this series. It hits all of the right notes - I get this glorious Omegaverse storyline, sexual fluidity, great characters and some suspense. What more could you want?
If you’ve read this entire series, you know Merrick and Murphy have been waiting for their happy ending FOREVER. And I was so happy they got it. Then you add in a bunch of unexpected characters like the which with his ghost twin brother, Jericho and the town’s vampire doctor, Tanner.
And the story came full circle. I loved the journey and I’m sad to see the end of this series.
🔮 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝘆 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗲: If you read from the beginning, the species and shifting culture is easy to understand. But it’s def an “intermediate” level Omegaverse, with MPREG and sexual fluidity and some over the top spice.
can’t believe i finished this in a day! i just couldn’t put it down honestly lmao, can’t believe this series is over (i know it’s possible that we might get more but for now i think we won’t😭) this series introduced me to grace mcginty, who is now one of my favorite authors! i don’t know how does she do it but the world and stories she created are just fucking amazing!!
this is also my favorite in the series, and i actually did not know this happened AFTER dark river days book 4, im so glad i finally caught up with dark river days series this year, i love all the cameos we got in this book!! a reread for the manix series is definitely in order haha.
i also love that this book mostly runs parallel to book 3 cuz it’s been a while since i’ve read book 3, and it was nice to revisit some events. im so happy for merrick and murphy finally got their hea with their pack, we’ve been seeing them since book 1, im just so happy everything finally worked out for them!! susannah and quinn, they’re really soul mates in every sense, when i saw her in previous books i didn’t really rooted for her but wow this book really changed how i felt and i’m so glad they found their way back to murphy and merrick!!
despite i really enjoyed this book, im kinda sad that this series might be over, i’ll miss them so much. can we get a short novella with everyone pls????? i need more😭😭😭
If you asked any of the residents of Maxton what they thought of me, it would basically boil down to that. In reality, I have a huge secret. TW: SA, physical & mental abuse, brief mention of incest. (All relationships bw MCs are healthy and consensual, but they have some horrible ancestors and/or enemies.)
Spice note: Harem is polyamorous with MM, MF, and group.
I really enjoyed the story overall and the characters themselves, but this book felt a bit messy compared to the others. Since this was the fourth in the series, I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was just reading the same relationship dynamic over and over again—different couples, but following such a similar formula that it all started to feel indistinguishable. That repetition made things a little boring after a while.
It also threw me off that we only met the last two mates around 60–70% into the book. While it’s not unusual, it felt late in the story and didn’t give me enough time to connect with Jericho and Bowie. I was also really intrigued by Loren and Electra and thought they would eventually be part of the pack, but they weren’t, which was a bit disappointing. I would have loved more development for them—whether as a couple or bonding with others.
If this ends up being the final book in the series, it wasn’t the strongest conclusion. Still, I really loved the world the author created—it felt refreshing and unique in many ways, and that’s what kept me invested until the end.

Overall good but felt weak compared to earlier books
I love the world the author created so I’m always happy to be back in the thick of it. This novel got a four star rating probably because of the world and books that came before it.
And I will say that I took a big break in the middle of reading this because I have a bad habit of not wanting to let go of a series if it’s the final book so I’ll put it off and that break easily could be part of the reason that I didn’t feel as connected to the characters.
This is the most outlandish book I think of the bunch but I didn’t really mind that. Mostly at the end I just felt that it tied up surprisingly quickly, especially after the very speedy introduction of a last act member(s) of the love interests.
I don’t regret reading it and I love the series and would kill for some novellas or books that touch in on the moon burst Manix town here and there to see how the characters are doing, but that’s just me never wanting to let go of something enjoyable.
I can't believe it's over. This series has stolen my heart over and over. These characters mean so much to me and I'm so happy I got to know them.
I've been waiting on Murphy and Merrick's story since the very first book. Their story is so intertwined with Susannah's and Quinn as well.
One thing I absolutely love about Grace's books is that she adds people to the harem throughout the book. It's not something I normally enjoy, but when Grace does it? I'm so here for it.
I absolutely loved the addition of Jericho and Bowie. The way everyone just accepted that little ghost, I love it.
And Tanner. How can you not love him? He's hilarious, Australian and so freaking good. He saved them over and over. He gave up his home for his loves.
I don't want this to be the end, but I know I'll be back to reread. I can't miss these characters.
Thank you, Grace. For creating such an amazing world, even better characters and showing us that love has no boundaries.
I am a Grace McGinty fan. I love her sense of humor- the way her series are separate and yet in the same world and the fact that bad things can happen.
This book was a wonderful addition to the Shadowbred series. If you havent read any or them please start with the first book in the series- but if you want to really do a head first dive into this world you need to start with The Redeemable.
Specifically about the Shadowbred- I refuse to give out spoilers, but allow me to say that the Manix are shifters who are basically a dieing breed. They have retreated to a mountain in Montana and they have not had a female Omega in a very long time. They live in packs and the ruling body of the community is their form of Military known as the Legion.
They are a very small town gossipy group- a little bigoted. Not race wise but dynamic wise.
Sometimes the road is a bumpy one before you find the right smooth one. The storm before the rainbow
It was good. Lots of up and downs. Longings for love. But so worth it. They only thing was how long it took here to be with the Alphas. She claimed she once loved them and had to leave but she was also kinda rude in my book. I undemanding her Pain and wanting to protect but they were adults now. I mean she let them protect her so she could mate but not to protect them. Idk I enjoyed the guys alot but she wasn't my fav FMC. She did protect Quinn the best she could. But it also didn't do much either. Thank goodness for Jasper. I'm not into paranormal normally but in my book slump to wait for something in contemporary and decided on this and I have to say it was good. I enjoyed. They author did a really good job. Other then the bad Alphas pack and Quinns parents I liked all the characters for. I think you would enjoy it if your into paranormal books.
Crave is the conclusion of the Manix - Shadow Bred Series and is absolute perfection! Serious kudos to Grace for such a satisfying ending. To be able to juggle multiple story lines and overlap in the books I imagine is no easy task, but Grace pulls it off with ease. Like all Graces’ books we have her usual flair of plot and spice (plus I always love the addition of surprise characters) I really enjoy the cross over between Manix and Dark River and for Crave to take place after the last book in Dark River.
I will be the first to admit that Susannah rubbed me the wrong way in the previous books, the prologue gave some much needed background to explain a lot of Susannah’s reasoning. We finally see justice being served and Susannah and Quinn getting the happy ever after they deserve. Easy 10/10 read and me wanting to join the pack
I had been desperately awaiting this book and it didn't disappoint. I was impressed at the author's ability to completely change my viewpoint on Susannah . The way I didn't like her in previous books but fell in love with her in this was absolutely perfect. The plot is great, the spice is perfect. I loved pretty much all of it. My only gripe is that I really couldn't tell the point of views apart with Murphy and Merrick; they were some of my favourite characters throughout the series but lose their individuality in this one and become almost totally interchangeable. I also would have liked a little more time spent on each character within the group as it does feel a little rushed. Must say though, the tasty vampire doctor is everything. 😍
Why-choose Shifter omegaverse Vampires Lots of spice Group scenes
This is the fourth and I think final instalment in the series and this was Merrick and Murphy’s pack story. This book introduced a lot of new elements and even some characters to the story that really helped develop the plot to stand on its own from the rest of the series. I’m always weary with series feeling copy/paste but they really helped make each book stand on its own.
The Alpha’s Merrick and Murphy have been in love with Susannah since they were kids and wanted her and Quinn to join their pack before she left town taking their hearts with them. Only for them to show up in Wilkie’s pack bringing all that heartbreak back to the surface. What they don’t know is Susannah is keeping a pretty big secret and once her designation changes they take safety in the two Alpha’s she left behind all those years ago. Will they risk their hearts again or has she ruined her chance forever?
Crave is book four in the series Shadow Breed by author Grace McGinty. This one specifically I’ve been waiting for. Since Susannah was first introduced into the series in an earlier book. Now it’s her turn and her story is so full of angst, sadness, pain and so much joy. Let me ask you all a question what would you do for someone you loved? Would you place yourself in hell? Would you lie about your life to protect that person? Well that’s what Susannah did, that and so much more. With all the hardships and the pain they are finally free. And their pack filled with mosh posh individuals is ready and waiting to make Susannah and Quinn’s every wish and dream come true. But there are shadows waiting. Hot and spicy- gets your emotions whirling and has you wishing for HEA. Enjoy!!
