Anything I Can Do

I might be as sunny as a fairytale princess, but cowboy Quinn is no prince charming.

He IS from a fairytale, though, just not the right one. He’s… Grumpy.

When I booked my luxury glamping cabin, I just wanted to spend some time on myself. Work is stressful, my family won’t stop nagging me, and even my love life is uninspiring. I had no idea it was part of Quinn O’Connell’s family farm.

My best friend calls him Cutie-Cowboy-Quinn. I just call him hot. Those bright blue eyes, his crooked smile, and that burnished skin…

We keep running into each other - sometimes literally! - at meals, while out riding horses, and then in that strawberry field. I’m finding out there’s more to Quinn than his grumpy facade, and his newfound country-boy charm is going straight to my city-girl heart.

He’ll never leave his family farm.

And I'll never trade skyscrapers and high heels for barns and boots.

How can a country boy and a city girl find a happily ever after?

*This story is told in first person, dual POV and is a complete stand alone.

Anything I Can Do is a sweet, funny, grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, closed-door, romantic comedy filled with country boy charm and city girl sass set in the fictional southern town of Henryville Township, NC. If you like horse rides in the mountains, pie auctions, and super supportive family, you'll love Anything I Can Do.

Jasmine is a hard working nurse who is already the head of her Department. But no matter how well she does, her family have made it clear that they won't respect any career other than working for their Chandrahan family medical business.

Quinn is a third generation farmer struggling to make ends meet. He's tried everything to bring more revenue to their farm: organic produce, glamping cabins, trail rides and more, but he may still lose everything.

After Jasmine experiences a traumatic event in the ER, she takes two weeks off to evaluate her career choices and ends up glamping on Quinn's farm. Together, will they find the answers to both of their problems? Or will they be unable to live up to the pressure that comes with inherited family expectations?

This is the second book in the trilogy, with the first 'Anything That You Want' free on Amazon for a limited time!! I thoroughly enjoyed Jasmine and Quinn as individuals: Jasmine is spunky and a ray of sunshine, with Quinn coming across as quite grumpy before you know his story.

I appreciated that Jasmine's Indian American culture was explored and that this was juxtaposed with what we see from Quinn and the small town he lives in. Both characters made sense and their blossoming relationship was lovely to read. The ending was perfect and tied together all aspects of the story which I really appreciated!

Thank you to Author Mary Carson for providing me with this ARC 💕 I've provided this review willingly and all opinions are my own. Look out for publication on the 16th of March 2023! I'll be going back to read book 1 as I need to see Ellie (Jasmine's best friend) and James' romance!

Anything I Can Do was a sweet country boy, city girl romance! I feel like the trope can be quite cliche sometimes, but this story didn't feel that way to me.

I really liked Jasmine and she was like a little ray of sunshine the whole time. I don't think I've ever read a book where the main female character was Indian America, so I found that aspect of the novel interesting. Quinn was quite the gentleman, and he had just the right amount of charm.

All in all, Anything I Can Do, was a sweet, heartwarming story, and I really liked it!

Thank you Mary Carson for the ARC!

I really liked this book. Quinn & Jasmine were a great couple. Both were dealing with outside pressures but still found a way to work things out.

The dual POV really enhanced the reading experience. We got to see how each character worked through the circumstances they were facing. Seeing the hopes, fears, and insecurities made these characters real people.

I found it to be an enjoyable read. It was a fun book. So treat yourself.

I will look for other books by Mary Carson. I received an ARC through BookFunnel in exchange for honest review.

I very much enjoyed Mary Carson's first book, but her sophomore effort, "Anything I Can Do," was even better! The author's note in the beginning sets up the story perfectly; even though it touches on some serious topics, the overall tone is light and fun, and I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next.

Main characters Jasmine Chandran and Quinn O'Connell were both incredibly likeable, and the problems they faced were real and relatable. I loved their witty banter and the chemistry that sparked between them from the moment they met. They really couldn't have been more different, but they balanced each other perfectly.

I highly recommend this book for all fans of sweet contemporary romance and romantic comedy. I look forward to whatever Carson writes next!

"I understood how easy it was to second guess your choices. To look around where you were, and wonder how you got there. And then see how much your personal choices impacted those around you, whether you realized it at the time or not."
Jasmine and Quinn are both at a crossroads. Jasmine is feeling restless and a little burned out in her job as an ER nurse. Her family are pressuring her to come and work with them, so she needs some time away. She escapes at a farm, where she is surprised to run into Quinn. Quinn is trying to redeem what he sees as past mistakes, and help save his family's farm. He doesn't want any distractions, but he can't help but have his head turned by Jasmine. The more time they spend together, the more they begin to ask more questions, including if a city girl could be at home in the country with a cowboy.
This was such an enjoyable love story! Jasmine and Quinn were so fun to get to know- they both cared for others and worked hard to care for them. It was also super fun getting to revisit the characters from her first book! The farm came to life in this story as a peaceful and beautiful environment, exactly what Jasmine needed. It was easy to become invested in Quinn's mission to save the farm and help his family. Quinn's mom and brother were wonderful secondary characters. I always enjoy this author's stories and look forward to what comes next!

This was such a fun book! I loved watching Jasmine and Quinn come together and learn to trust each other.
I think Jasmine was such a fun, lively character. She had a lot of things to work through in her life, and it was sweet to watch her open to Quinn. I think that I would have loved to see more of her Indian heritage in the book though. But I understand that some people are not super connected to their culture, so this is not rare.
Quinn was a sweetheart! I loved watching him fall in love with Jasmine. He fell hard, and he wasn’t fooling anyone as he tried to fake it. It was sweet as he tried to care for the farm and his family. He was carrying a huge load, and he was trying to balance everything.
The family in this one was so much fun! Quinn’s family and the town were super involved. And I loved how everyone fell in love with Jasmine. Liam and Quinn’s relationship felt really real and brotherly too.
I did have a harder time getting into the story, but it was a cute, fun read. Lots of cameo with Ellie and James too which I always love. I would definitely recommend this romcom to anyone who loves clean cowboy romances!

“Anything I Can Do” is a clean and funny romantic comedy. The witty and clever banter constantly made me laugh, and the romance was engaging and sweet. It quickly draws you in to a very realistic story that’s hard to put down. I was enjoying it so much, in fact, that I hated seeing that the book would soon be finished. Thankfully, at the end, I was able to sign up for a bonus scene, and I’m so glad I did—it was such a satisfying way to put the finishing touch on a delightful story!

I was given an advanced copy to read and give my honest review. I would definitely recommend it, and I’m looking forward to reading more by this talented author.

I received the ARC for this book. I read this book in one day, it was an easy and enjoyable read, with a sweet contemporary romance.
The story involves a 'grumpy' cowboy and a bright funny city girl. There are plenty of funny moments as these two characters come together and the romance is adorable.

What makes a good RomCom? Lots of swoonworthy and laugh out loud moments are must haves of course, but I also love when a story that isn't afraid to take on some of the more difficult realities of life either. I think Anything I Can Do balanced it all well in a sweet romance that I couldn't put down.

Anything I Can Do is the second book in the Anything series. I had not read the previous book and found that this reads just fine as standalone. That said, the couple from book one (Ellie and James) do make many appearances throughout, so if you want to read them all while avoiding spoilers it would be good to read them in order.

This story used some of my favorite tropes--- it was an opposites attract story between a city girl sunshine and a country boy cowboy grump with all the wonderful smalltown charm and sense of community. This led to some great humourous moments on the farm, including a delightful scene with chickens that had me laughing out loud. Beyond the humor though, those moments of depth dealing with issues like death, financial struggles and family obligations took the story to the next level in the best way possible. I loved getting to know these characters and found myself looking forward to seeing what comes next in the series!

If you're looking for your next sweet romance, this is one to check out!

Fun and thought provoking

I chose this expecting something funny and light. It is so much more. I love Jasmine and Quinn's story. An accidental meeting leads to an unplanned romance neither were looking for. After meeting Quinn at a Charity Ball Jasmine books a two week retreat glamping at a ranch only to find out the ranch belongs to Quinn. They each have issues they are dealing with. Jasmine is dealing with her parents insisting she join the family business and burn out at work. Quinn is managing the family farm since the death of his father. As they tentatively begin a friendship that could lead to more they deal with real life issues. These are handled in a way that gives insight without being dark.

I love Jasmine and Quinn. Her friends are a lot of fun as they try to help her through the decisions she must make. Quinn's brother and mother contributed to the story. The feel of family and community was uplifting.

A good surprise. I loved it.

What happens when a third-generation farmer meets an independent nurse who is an all-city girl. Quinn feels the pressure of trying to save his family’s land. Jasmine is trying to maintain her life as a nurse while her family is trying to pull her into what they see as her rightful please in the family’s pharmacology research business. Add to the mix that Quinn is pure North Carolins and Jasmine is from a very traditional Indian American family. And the plot thickens.
This delightfully told story is warm, funny, and endearing. It will have you anxiously waiting for the next step in the plot. You know that Quinn and Jasmine eill end up together, but the road to their HEA will keep you engaged.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary, clean romances, wonderful characters, and well-paced plots.

Okay another book that kept me up late at night it was so good

I enjoyed this sweet story. A girl trying to find her niche she liked working with people medic in the medical field. Her family wanted to go win to a lab work area which she didn't want to. Taking time off after That she assisted the ER. The characters that Mary weaved together in the story just fit.... The each of the different couples in the story were perfect match for each other You could tell the author was invested in each character she wrote and she wrote them well. Looking forward to more of her books..

I couldn't even get through the first six pages. The writing was mediocre, I felt like I was in the 6th grade again reading wattpad. How many "-" do you need, there was one almost every paragraph: "My best friend, Ellie—or Dr. Dumont, as she was known around here—" . Also the inner dialogue, "James (soon-to-be-fiance, shh, don’t tell anyone)", couldn't get through it. It just felt like random unnecessary information that could've flowed a lot better in the dialogue.

This was a sweet story and I liked the characters, but I didn't so much enjoyed the writing which was a bit stilted and with strange passages from one scene to the next.
I do like the characters and the story, but the writing in this one didn't work for me.

"a girl didn’t miscount a thing like almost kisses—" Jasmine, an Indian American city based nurse and Quinn, a country boy has a sweet story. I loved the ties that they had with their families and trying to preserve or grow a legacy. The push/pull of duty vs. desire is a strong foundation. Good world building and character development. Zero steam. HEA.

Reader’s Notes:

– this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

– this is told from Jasmine & Quinn’s points of view

– Jasmine deals with losing two friends due to injuries from a car accident (she was helping when they were brought to the hospital; we see bits and pieces as she pieces together what happened)

– Quinn’s father passed due to a heart attack (prior to the start of the story)

Review:

I loved Jasmine in book one and just continued to love her throughout her own story! Jasmine was a great ray of sunshine, even when dealing with her own conflicting desires. I loved Quinn and Jasmine together and how they made each other feel confident in growing in their work and expressing their thoughts with each other (after they established they both like each other). I loved Quinn and his family/neighbors and how they all were together. I also loved how they embraced Jasmine into their fold (especially Quinn’s family) and made her feel loved and accepted despite barely knowing her. Some of my other favorite scenes/moments included: putting the chickens to bed, Liam trying to get a rise out of Quinn, Jasmine charming even the hardest nut in Quinn’s area, Liam’s unwanted jersey chasers, Ellie trying to help Jasmine through her many decisions, and Liam talking sense into Quinn.

Summary:

After a major shock hits too close to home, Jasmine wonders if she should continue to work at the hospital she thought would be her life. Especially with her mother pestering her to join the family business more and more recently. In order to figure out where her life is going, Jasmine decides to take a vacation glamping on a ranch. She didn’t realize that Quinn, the cute entrepreneur cowboy she met at a fundraiser, was the owner of the ranch. And that she’d be bumping into him at every turn. Jasmine went on vacation to figure out what she wanted to do with her life, but Quinn can’t be a part of it since he needs to stay in the country and her life is in the city. Right?

Quinn is willing to try anything to get the ranch making money so his family doesn’t have to lose or sell any part of their land. His latest attempt is run by his mother while he takes care of other parts of the ranch, which leads to Quinn being surprised by a person he didn’t expect to see again. With the city girl Jasmine wandering all over the land for the next couple of weeks, Quinn can’t seem to find himself thinking of much else. And when Jasmine finds little ways to help his family out, he’s pretty much gone for her. But Quinn knows in the back of his mind that Jasmine won’t be staying, her life is still in the city. It’s only a matter of time before reality crashes into them…

This book was such a delight to read. Owen is a good old country boy who grew up working on his family's farm. Jasmine is definitely a city girl. She is a nurse in her local hospital, much to the chagrin of her family. They want her to work with their company, Chandra Medical. Chandra Medical is a laboratory/testing company. Jasmine is a people person and has no desire to sit in a lab all day without having any human contact. Jasmine is rocked one night by an occurrence in the emergency room that causes her take a step back. She decides to visit the farm owned by Owen's family to possibly reevaluate her future. She met him previously at a fundraiser put on by her parents. However, she does not realize this is his family's farm until she arrives at her glamping cabin.

This was such a sweet story of two people who really wanted to do what was best for their family, while at the same time being conflicted about doing what they felt they needed to do. Jasmine was such a sweet character. I loved her sunshiny personality, especially since her initial view of Owen was one of Mr. Grumpy! She did not let this deter her from pursuing a friendship with Owen. This romance shows that two opposites can bring out the best in each other. Owen may have been a little grumpy at first, but once you learn a little more about his background and what is going on with his family's farm, you will understand his emotional state.

If you want to read a light romance, with a wonderful happily ever after, I highly recommend this book. This was an easy, quick read for me which left me with a smile on my face.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

** ARC REVIEW **
This was a wonderful read and I would highly recommend the book! I love how the book is written in the POV of the MMC and FMC. The characters Mary Carson made are beautiful! I love how their lives are so distant, yet in someway their lives can become better when they are together. However, they don’t realise that yet. I love how Jasmine changes her mind about Quinn all the time, it really shows that these characters have been carefully thought about. One thing I love is how the whole country and city theme juxtaposes it self. Quinn and Jasmine are perfect for each other but come from two places that are complete opposites to each other. This was one of my favourite reads from the past three months, due to the country and city theme. I’m a person who loves both for their own reasons and Mary writing about how both are good in their own ways was also wonderful. At first, it seems like a typical romance book but it really turns into something beautiful, as what you are least expecting to happen… happens! I’m not trying to say that this affects the book negatively in anyway, as it does the opposite, it positively impacts the book! The characters are amazing. However, they just don’t know yet that their past and present experiences are vital for them to progress in life, on a personal level but on a romantic level as well. If your looking for a nice and sweet read, then this is your book! All in all, Jasmine and Quinn were perfect, the way Mary wrote the book was perfect and the ending was magical! DEFINITELY recommend this book!

I really enjoyed this story and liked Quinn and Jasmine. When they first meet, they are both outgoing especially Jasmine and Quinn likes to insert himself into whatever conversation is going on especially if Jasmine is involved. There are definitely a few sparks between the two but they go their separate ways. One of Quinn’s business ventures is glamping at Royal River Lodge and who checks in as a guest after something happens at work and she needs time away from work and her family, it’s Jasmine. I enjoyed the time Quinn and Jasmine spend together getting to know each other and they are more alike that they initially thought. She finds that she’s enjoying the remoteness a lot more than she thought she would and I love how no matter where she does, she makes friends from Quinn’s mom to the guys at the diner. When she finds out that Quinn is having problems at the ranch, she steps up and helps brainstorm ideas and even gets her friends involved. Unfortunately Jasmine’s time at the lodge is cut short by her family calling and pretty much demanding she come home and step up for the family business. I liked that Quinn and Jasmine did stay in touch while she was gone and just when things couldn’t get much worse for Quinn and the family farm, an unexpected offer hits the table and it’s life changing for both Quinn and Jasmine. I so loved the ending of this story and I’m wondering if Quinn’s brother will get a book. This is the first book I’ve read by this author but will definitely be checking out the previous book for sure.

Work and familial pressures are running Jasmine into the ground. Need a temporary escape from the day to day chaos, she books a solo getaway at a local glamping spot. When she arrives she’s surprised to find that she already knows the owner, Quinn, a handsome cowboy who she has crushed on from afar.

Anything I Can Do is an opposites attract romcom with just the right mix of sweet and swoony moments. The author’s sense of humor is evident throughout the storyline especially in the banter between the MCs. This is book two in the series but it can be read as a stand-alone. It is a closed-door romance.

The thing I appreciate most about this story is how it shows two very different types of family obligation and how the younger generation are affected. While Quinn wants to help out with the farm, Jasmine has no interest in following in her parents’ footsteps. As the MCs’ relationship grows, they’re able to talk through many of the frustrations with each other.

This is a really lovely series in that things don’t always work out in the way that readers would expect from a typical romance novel. The ending is still very satisfying. I’m glad that the author brought back the MCs from the first book. I hope that we will see more of Quinn and Jasmine as the series continues.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

“Anything I Can Do” is a sweet, fun, and charming story! The author has done great work writing a country boy/city girl romance story that feels fresh and unique. I also liked the grumpy/ sunshine side of it. I enjoyed seeing what Quinn and Jasmine’s daily lives are like and getting to know their families and friends. Quinn’s mother Rose, is so sweet! I really like her character. I would love to read a story about Quinn’s parents and how they met. The dialogue between Quinn, Liam, and Jasmine was so much fun! The bonfire, barn dance, strawberry picking, and horseback riding were some of my favorite scenes. I loved reading about the chickens! And putting the chickens to bed, that was very cute. The author has done great work introducing us to Jasmine and Quinn and helping us to understand their emotional and personal challenges and how that has impacted them as individuals. I enjoyed seeing the strong friendship between Jasmine and Ellie. This is a sweet and fun story with three-dimensional characters and emotional depth. I highly recommend it! Thank you very much to the author for including me as a member of the ARC Team and for sending me a digital copy to read and review honestly.

Romance level: kissing.

Jasmine's story was definitely something I wanted to dive into as soon as she appeared in book 1!

Jasmine & Quinn's first interactions felt so real! Being super awkward when meeting someone attractive felt super relatable😅

Quinn's grumpiness was more like a lion with a thorn in his paw, instead of his actual personality. Some events shaped him that way, he was so hurt, scared & hadn't found his way out... Until Jasmine.

One of my favorite moments were around the chickens🐔 & when he realized he's got it bad😂. It was so funny.

Getting those two together was such a ride! I loved how they took their time to get to know each other🐎 They were slowly opening up about their struggles, past & fears.

When the plot hit, I was confused with why she was mad... However, I think the way Quinn gathered up his wits to win her back was so sweet✨

The solution to the problem was the best! I felt relieved when she thought of it after so long. The epilogue was sweet 🍓 but the extra scene was THE sweetest ! Make sure you check that out. So excited for book 3!

⚠️TW: death of a loved one; car accident.

This is a fantastic book. I like to have all the background for a story so I read the prequel and the first book in this series (and really enjoyed both), and it definitely enhanced the experience reading this book (especially around the BFF relationship between Jasmine and Ellie…Jasmine was a great friend in Ellie’s book), but this book has all the necessary information so you can enjoy as a standalone too. Jasmine and Quinn were wonderful and engaging characters, and there were plenty of good side characters too. (Loved Liam and Quinn’s sibling relationship.) The setting on the farm was pretty special too. Quinn faced some pretty daunting challenges and Jasmine had quite a personal journey to find her path. Not to mention the issue of living in different places. (Although an hour doesn’t seem insurmountable to me.) All this while they were trying to find their way through the feelings that kept growing between them. The development of the relationship was lovely. It didn’t come easy as they both fought against it, until they didn’t. This book was written so well. I will definitely be reading any books this author puts out. Without a doubt, I recommend this book.

I did not want to put this book down! But unfortunately, because of life I did but not for long. Jasmin is so fun and the life of the party. She knows who she is and what she wants or so she thinks until she goes to Quinn’s glamping. She is still the life of the party but with a heavy decision that she needs to make. I really loved Jasmin I was drawn to her just like everyone in the book I wanted to know all about her ideas and what she was planning. She really felt like someone you would want to have in your life. Quinn is determined to save his families farm but when Jasmin comes into his life will be saving the farm the only thing he wants now? Quinn is a typical grumpy guy at first until Jasmin comes into his life and you realize that he isn’t grumpy but just focused on what he needs to do. The two of them together are perfect. And then you add in Quinn’s mom and brother the book gets even better. This book has everything you need in opposites attract. There were moments when I was actually laughing out loud. This book is a must if you love reading sweet clean romcom books.

Country man. City girl. Opposites do attract, they say!! Sparks flew in “Anything I can Do,” by Mary Carson! I got to first meet Jasmine in The first book in this series and I instantly thought she was a fun, happy character! It was so enjoyable to be in Jasmine’s mind and hear her perspective on things in this one!

I absolutely loved watching Jasmine and Quinn fall in love! Though they were very different and living different lives, I loved seeing them overcome those differences and change things so that love could conquer all! I loved the cowboy and country vibes we got while being on Quinn’s family farm! The pie auction, the bonfire, and the dance was all so much fun!

This book was a delight, and I’m so glad to have read it as an ARC for Mary!! Be on the lookout for this book, releasing soon! You won’t want to miss it! And don’t forget check out Ellie and James’s story too which takes place before this one!
