Ashes is the sixth, and final, book in a series about monsters of all kinds. If you enjoy fated mates, forbidden romance, sassy heroines and swoon-worthy beast kings who are almost untamable, then this is the series for you.
To avoid spoilers. I will not be writing a blurb for this book. If you read Ice you will know that this next story is about Ax . It’s time for the phoenix king to have his world turned on its head. I strongly suggest that you read the first five books in the series before picking this one up. It’s fast-paced, steamy and forbidden…
Charlene lives on an acre in the country with her husband, three children and an array of pets including a snake. In her spare time you can usually find her typing away franticly on the computer completely lost in worlds of her making. She is an avid believer that it is the small things that truly matter like the feeling you get when you start reading a new book or a particularly beautiful sunset. Charlene likes to write bite stories her readers can sink their teeth into. Sign up for her latest release newsletter for more information http://mad.ly/signups/96708/join
This paranormal shifter romance kept me engaged throughout. It had a few twists and turns and ended happily. There was some reasonably graphic sex so if that’s not your thing I wouldn’t read this book - or any by this author as best I can tell as all I have read of hers have had that element. If you’re ok with that then you will find the sex is not over the top, and always seems to fit the story. Of course, it’s about shifters and that is normal for them!! This is the sixth and last book in the series. I would recommend reading in order because the characters show up in the following books, but it also isn’t critical to do so.
Ashes is the sixth fantastic book in The Beast King Brides series.
I am addicted to this series; it is full of drama, it is sexy, it is fun and it is full of paranormal romantic goodness. They are Kings, alpha males in all shapes and sizes with Vampires, Shifters, Elves and more. It is sexy, sizzling, smoking Hot, it jumps right off the pages and leaves you needing more.
They find sassy, headstrong females but not everything goes to plan. These men are ruthless power players but underneath it all are men who love fast, they love with their whole heart.
Charlene has woven a captivating, tangled web of lies, suspense, drama and love. The characters are to die for, and each have their own voice in this series. I love that we get their POV because it makes them more real.
There are plenty of witty moments and humour that will have you laughing out loud.
Ashes is the final book in the Beast King Brides series and you DO NOT want to miss this one❣️The author has deliberately chosen to not write a blurb for this book and I agree wholeheartedly as you need to experience this for yourself firsthand😍 That said, you will need to read the books in order from the first one to better grasp what the Beast Kings are all about but I guarantee you’ll love them all, just like me🙃
I will tell you, I absolutely adore this couple and the ending was👌I can’t wait to see what’s next up on the agenda. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️
This is the last book in this series and I guarantee that it is a wonderful finale
The beast King Series has been one of my favourite series by author Charlene Hartnady and as I have read most of her titles this ranks this series extremely high in my opinion and I am sure that others will feel exactly the same and that you will hopefully feel just the same.
Ashes was a wonderful final title in this series I she has been so careful not to give away any thing that might spoil the book so I am going to do exactly the same, I know that you will be as enchanted with this finale to the series it was impossible to put down once you started reading until you reached the final page.
This couple have been a delight and I just know that you will love this season from start to finish and I know that you will recommend it to other that readers so that they will be able to enjoy her many other titles.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Ashes is book 6 & the final book of the Beast King Brides series by Charlene Hartnady @charlenehartnadyauthor. Ax is the king of the Phoenix shifters & his beast is dormant. He doesn’t know why. Everleigh is a firefighter who is human that was turned into a Phoenix shifter. Ax is trying to get Everleigh turned back to human before a week is up (before she is permanently a shifter). They have sex, then she shifts & end up back at Ax’s shed, miles away from Ax. Ax gets into a fight with another beast king & his beast comes out for the first time in 20 years! He finds Everleigh at his home wher she had come through his ashes. They have sex. They get Everleigh changed back to human & she goes back to normal life. 😭😭😭 They stay apart for almost 2 months, both of them depressed. The Fae king comes up with a possible way for the, to change Everleigh back to a Phoenix shifter & she agrees to try. They are successful in turning her back. They get married & live happily ever after 💜 Come on! It’s a romance - they always live happily ever after 😂
This is the final book in the series, and what a great series it was. Absolutely needs to be read in order, if not, you don't get the full picture of what's been happening as they're tied together and previous events are mentioned in the books. I agree with the author's choice to not write a blurb, because it definitely would've given massive spoilers.
Since the beginning, I've been curious about Ax, so I'm happy to finally have his story. The way Charlene interwove Ax and the female main character's stories is just amazing (world building is also great). You want all the happy endings, the revenge, the victory. This was my favorite book of the series and I will definitely be rereading.
The book includes spicy scenes, so I wouldn't recommend if you're not into that sort of reading, but they're not overly graphic or used as fluff.
I love Ax and I love his book! Ax is the last of the phoenix shifters. At least that's what he has led everyone to believe. Turns out, the rest of the Phoenix shifters are in a deep sleep. Ax is a Beast King. All the Beast Kings must mate or they go crazy. Unfortunately for Ax, he can only mate with another phoenix shifter. Then one day, Everleigh, a human firefighter, shows up in Ax's ashes. Has she turned into a phoenix shifter, if so, how? And can she be turned back? Ax is a very sexy, grump with a heart of gold. Everleigh is brave and sweet. Tassos, the mage from previous books, shows up to help Ax. He is hilarious as usual. I loved this book and the whole series. I'm sad it ended, but what a great ending!
The last in line of this series. This was Ax & Everleigh’s story. He’s the phoenix shifter king beastmaster. She’s a firefighter. She’s transformed into a phoenix shifter herself after a near fatal work accident that involved a fire. They meet by chance when she wakes up in his ash pile that he keeps in his barn. He’s a recluse & she’s a city girl. The ashes act as a homing beacon to phoenix’s. I’m so glad that the author mentioned the other characters from the rest of the series & let us know what’s going on with them. It made the series complete IMO. It was a great story although the ending seemed rushed…This series is going to stay in my TBR pile on rotation. Highly recommend!
Everleigh is a firefighter and has just saved a little girl. After handling her off to her partner at the window the floor drops out under her and she falls to her death at least that what you think but she wakes up in a pile of ashes naked. What the heck oh she also can’t remember who she is or where she is.after getting up and out of the shed she gets cleaned up goes into the cabin that is sitting there to find someone or just to find something to wear. That’s when Ax show up and wants to know who the heck she is and why she’s in his house. The Phoenix Shifters supernatural is out of balance and this is what has happened. Now they need to solve this problem. So enjoy another great read and see what happens!!
I absolutely loved this story, I’ve adored Ax and wanted him to have happiness from the beginning of the series, he’s been so alone for so long. My heart wept for him!!! His heroine is fantastic, I loved that she was all in and never had any hesitation about being with him and if it was the right thing to do. The story had a few tense moments, things looked to have no way of working out well, but as always Charlene pulls it out of the bag!!! I’ll miss the beast kings, but I’m glad they all got their happy endings, I’ll even miss Greatness, he was a fabulous character. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
Sadly this is the final book in the Beast King Brides series which I have loved each & every one. Ax has been the grumpy reclusive King throughout the series & it is just fabulous to be able to read his story in more detail. I’ve enjoyed seeing a different side to Ax behind the grouchy dialogue. Everleigh is a feisty firefighter who says it how it is which is just what Ax needs. The twists & turns of this book plus that Tassos the interfering one is back again has made this such a great read. As you would expect the interaction between Ax, Everleigh & the others is hilarious at times with some big laugh out loud moments. This is a great ending to the series & worth every one of the five stars I’ve given it.
I have been waiting with much anticipation for this book! It is the last book in the Beast King Brides series! Ax is a sexy, grumpy pheonix shifter. Everleigh is a feisty human firefighter. Combustion happens when these two come together!
I absolutely loved this story! I love the humor throughout the story! You should not be drinking water while reading this book or it may end up on your book or ereader. But the water may cool you down as the chemistry is HOT! I am sad that this series had to end but am looking forward to whatever Charlene has planned next!
This is book six and has an interesting twist on the shifter to human romance story. Ax is a Phoenix shifter, but he believes that he has lost his animal. Everleigh is a human female and firefighter. One day she was fighting a fire to save a child, and after she handed the child away, she accidentally fell from the ladder. Most everyone thought she was dead. However, Everleigh ended up on the ashes in Ax’s barn. No one knows who she is and how she came to be with Ax. This is where their journey begins. . . . Read On!
This book was fun to read. It even had more spice than the previous books. The first book was hot, and this had that vibe, also. It was mature and not naive, I think. Overall, this was fun, and the humor was good. I loved the love story, but it ended so quickly, and I didn´t know. It was like, is this it? Something was missing. But I think this could be a great paranormal Netflix or some kind of other series. It has everything and it could be fun to watch.
I absolutely adored this story! I’ve been obsessed with Ax from the beginning and this story was absolute perfection for him! Everleigh was such an amazing mate for him! I’ve loved this whole series but these two are definitely my favorite! These two definitely burn up the sheets and then some! This author did a brilliant job with this story! Absolutely amazing! Very highly recommend this whole series! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book
Last book with ax poor guy has been so lonely for 20 years.I would of thought he couldn't die isn't he immortal? Yes he can go into sleep but come back as a adult?I I like the wedding showing all the couple's from past books at the end.
I did wonder if a spin off series or book 7 would happen with the kids 20 years later.Leah got a gift from the witch, yes we did not trust it but a twist could be it was for safety (we don't really find out)
Ashes, book 6 of Charlene Hartnady's The Beast King series is wonderful. Ash is the Phoenix shifter King, but he's lost his ability to shift. Everleigh is a human firefighter. Together they could be everything if only she wasn't human. The journey they take to save each other is edge of your seat drama. I couldn't put it down till I finished the book. I truly hope this isn't the last we'll see of the beast kings.
This book is fast-paced, a lot of time seems to be left out. It feels a little choppy as well. And I was disappointed in it because it's not as detailed as her dragon books, such as the bride hunt for one. It just seemed like it was written in a hurry to get through it and get done with it and I'm disappointed in that but maybe it won't disappoint you and you'll find it enjoyable. That's why I gave it four stars
Although it followed the similar storyline of the rest of the series. It was a lot more cut and dry then the other books. I loved how Tasso turned his troublemaking life around and I really enjoy Ac And Everleigh’s love adventure. This story carried less drama and drawn out run around. I enjoyed this series.
This was the absolute best wrap-up of the Beast King books!!! I loved loved loved Ax and Everleigh!! They’re fire together. They were mates at first sight, it seems. I loved everything about this book!!! I also loved the little glimpses of the other Beast Kings, too! I loved this series! I’ll miss them all! I hope we somehow get to see more of them soon.

The Beast King Brides book 6. Asher gets his mate. He's a Phoenix and she's a firefighter. Now add a mage, a bad Phoenix set on destruction a lot of fire and a little magic. But this road is hella crazy, angsty, dramatic and hopeful. The things that come it of her mouth is freaking fabulous. His mate is all that and then some. A great way to end a series.
Just when you didn’t think the next could top the one you currently read you start the next and it’s even better. Out of the entire series this one was the best. Sweet, spicy and at times hilarious (Tassos is a hoot. Annoying, yes, but still a hoot. Reminded me a lot of Antonio Banderas’s character in The Expendables 3.) but all romance goodness.
Ashes (The Beast Kings Brides Book 6) by Charlene Hartnady. Firefighter Everleigh dies fighting a fire. Phoenix Beast King Ax comes home to find Everleigh in his home. She has amnesia. Elena, another phoenix, has woken up early and wants wake all the other Phoenix’s which is forbidden. She also turned Everleigh into a Phoenix with the help of a mage.
I am so going to miss these set of Shifter, all the Beast Kings now have their mates and not one will get the madness that will take hold of them. Charlene this was a good read and will miss this series... big fan as always Winzie19💞🤗.
The final book of a amazing new series. Different and unique. I am satisfied with them all. Am I sad it is the end of this one. Yes. Gave this book me peace. Absolutely. It will be something I will read multiple times over the years.
I think Ax was my favorite. I always felt there was more to the story. Ax and Everleigh certainly burned hot for each other! Tassos, who would have thought. Great wrap up. I'll leave no spoilers. Great series!
Great follow up and final installment to the set. I loved the chemistry between the lead characters and the ting and yang balance that must be maintained. Tasso also turns a new leaf. Enjoyed this series and this is a great ending for all the beast kings!
I loved the series except I wish they all didn't follow the same story line. It would have been better if some didn't have the can't be together and then poof oh wait. The series was amazing except for that.
This entire Kings series has been amazing. Each story is uniquely different, following the path of them being supernaturals and finding a human mate. This one specifically was great and I feel like the dialog between the main characters was enough for me to justify their quick love story.
