Her last name might be King, but she’s the Queen B of Saint Juliet Academy. Don’t let her pretty face or polished facade fool you. She’s as evil as they come. I know firsthand. After all, she’s my greatest weakness and my biggest regret. The only thing worse than having her as a mistake from my past is becoming her prime target in the present. All it took was accepting her dad’s offer to fill in for the school’s injured quarterback. I quickly learned the only thing she hates more than me is her dad’s love of the game. I used to love being out on the gridiron … almost as much as I loved her. Then I walked away from them both. Coach has high hopes for a state title, and though I believe it’s a long shot, it might be more realistic than forsaking Morgan King a second time.
Hateful Liar is a dark high school girl bully romance. It contains sensitive topics that some may find triggering and is intended for mature readers.
Cliffhanger alert! This is Book 1 of a series and NOT a stand-alone.
AJ Logan is a new-to-me author and so far I’m a fan! Hateful Liar is the first book in the Saint Juliet Academy series. It’s full of drama, frenemies, and spice. I guarantee there will be at least one scene, or five, that will leave your jaw on the floor.
It’s refreshing to see the FMC as the unhinged vengeful bully. This gave me Dirty Wicked Prince vibes. That’s the first thing I thought when I first saw this, except it’s so much better! I could not stop reading. Saying I can’t wait for the next book is an understatement. This does end on a cliffhanger but book 2 will be released April 2023.
To appease his brother, Cade signs up to play football again for his senior year. He’ll be starting as QB and his coach is more than thrilled. Cade on the other hand is anything but enthusiastic. He does love football, but football comes with Morgan King, the coach’s daughter and Cade’s ex who broke his belief in love. Morgan can’t forget how Cade just up and left her, leaving her heart in pieces with no explanation. She is determined to make his life hell for all the suffering he’s caused. No matter what lines she has to cross, who burns in the process or if it’s at her own expense.
I would recommend Hateful Liar to everyone. If you like dark bully romance, Queen B FMC, lots of family drama, second chance, football, love to hate you, vengeance knows no bounds, spice, lovers to enemies to benefits, HS ‘pranks’, you’ll love Hateful Liar. It has so many things packed and wrapped with a pretty bow. Definitely one you don’t want to miss! This book does contain some possible triggers including but not limited to: bullying, threats of grape, mentions of abuse by a parent, mentions of inappropriate relations between teacher/student, etc. For the lovers of bully romances with lots of drama, this one is for you!
Warning: Reading Hateful Liar may make you want to bully your crush. May make you start arguments for the makeup smex. May make you appreciate your parents more. May make you wish you had secret hand signals. May make you cringe at the mention of cockroaches. May make you think how far would you go for someone you like. May make you want to say “Liar liar, you’re such as a crier.” Read responsibly.

The intensity of this book is almost unbearable to read but it’s still PHENOMENAL!
I have never been as uncomfortable reading a book as I was with this one. I’m still trying to figure out if it was enjoyable or not. But my end conclusion is that it was.
This is one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. There is some serious deep-seated pain going on in the lives of the main characters. Most inflicted n each other and especially by one of them in particular. Though there is obviously some real hurt going on, it’s hard to imagine what really happened to turn these two into who they are now. I can only imagine it’s going to be pretty devastating once we find out.
My heart hurt for both the male and female main characters. I truly hope the second book is as good as this first one has been. I read a t least one book a day and this is one of my top ten for the last year for sure. It’s unlike anything I’ve read before.
The bully in this book is really the female lead. That in itself is unusual. But the intensity is off the charts. There are no feel good moments and it really is heartbreaking if you try and scratch to figure out what has caused all this pain.
I hope there will be more background and then breakthroughs in the next book. I’m not sure if I can read a book identical to this one without some type of redeeming qualities revealing themselves.
But that’s what makes this book so good. This writing of this book is crazy smart and there appears to be some great depth to the two main characters.
In all, this book is excellent. EXCELLENT! The heat is intense. The story is told in dual POV. It’s a edge of the seat page turner that moves super quickly. I wish it wasn’t over already because I gave a major book hangover and need the next one now.
This is book 1 it does end on a cliffhanger. This is a high school dark bully romance. Morgan, is the bully and she is the FMC. Cade is the target of her bullying. Cade is playing football for Morgan's dad. To further complicate things Morgan and Cade have a past history. Obviously, I can't tell you why Morgan wants to bully Cade but it makes sense when you read the book. Morgan is very openly sexual to get back at people. Neither Morgan or Cade have a great home life. Morgan is mean and not just to Cade. I think Cade loves to hate Morgan. I like Cade's best friend. I don't like when people are mean to him. There are a few situations not resolved in this book. Looking forward to the next book to see what else Morgan can burn down. Also, I would like to see if Cade can get through to Morgan because if anyone can it's Cade.

Ooo there's such a fine line walked here that I found myself so insanely tense at times and gob-smacked at others - such is the impact of Hateful Liar. I mean it's a hard story to take at face value - you have HAVE to remember it's a story that flips the gender of the psycho bully to our FMC instead of the ubiquitous MMC. It pushes all your buttons and makes your heart hurt with our FMC's insane need to inflict as much pain on our MMC as she can. But I can say one thing for sure - you'll start reading and you wont want to stop. Like not looking away from an impending disaster just because you so believe it will turn out okay and you want to be there for it!.

I was looking for a bully romance and found this series. I'm used to the guys/guys being a bully not the girl and this series is a nice twist. The main character can be relatable at some of the things she is facing/has faced. Morgan is cocky and knows for the most part what she wants and what she wants is to make Cade miserable. Cade wants to understand her but has a hard time. He knows she's got a soft spot somewhere in that black heart of hers.

You know a book is good when you purchase it, in the midst of reading it. I love the reverse that the bully is actually the girl and the victim is the guy. Morgan showed no mercy and I absolutely loved it. This was worth waking up early in the morning for!
4 sterren is net te veel. Damn!!!!
There was a lot to process in this book, I found it hard not to feel a little bit sorry for Morgan even when she’s being such a bitch and the way her father talks about her and to her is disgusting. But Cade I also feel bad for.
I liked Cade but Morgan is a little annoying. I actually really like a bully FMC bc it’s different but I have no clue why they hate each other so it just feels dramatic.
