Discover your roles in your former incarnations and explore their effect on your present life
Using the ancient Indian form of karmic astrology, we can discover the effect of our past lives on the present
This guide aims to impart the practical skills needed to see your own present-day path according to the teachings of karma and reincarnation. By calculating and understanding how to read your birth chart you can understand patterns that have built up over many lifetimes. Judy Hall offers detailed explanations on types of karma, how souls reincarnate and how patterns are carried forward. Past Life Astrology examines karmic themes within each sun-sign and then goes on to show how these themes are played out throughout life, meaning you can start to apply the information in a practical way to your own soul journey, wherever you are in this lifetime.

In reading this book, I felt that some of the short explanations for Moon or other planets were a bit limitative, but on the whole I consider the book can be very useful for a beginner. as it explains most features inside the horoscope. Even though I found it would be hard to obtain any kind of clarity about a past life by just using this method, many of its features are correct and can be informative. I therefore think that it is a very useful read, not so much to abord a past life (which, in the end, is mostly related in the book with the moon) but more so in order to absorb many of the Author's hints which are valuable and interesting.
"Where did your particular traits come from? Only when you look at the idea of reincarnation can you find an answer. Reincarnation stipulates that you have lived before and have incarnated once again into your present body. Where karmic, or past life astrology differs from conventional astrology is that past life astrologers believe that the birthchart sets out a picture that reflects your previous experience, the credits and deficits you yourself created in another life. Conventional astrology says that these patterns arose from a random act of fate: your birth. However, past life astrologers would say that this moment of birth is carefully chosen so that the chart fits both your past experience and the lessons you have incarnated to learn as well as your potential for the future." Introduction - pg. 7
In twelve chapters, Judy maps out all the pertinent information you need to begin understanding your Astrology from a Past Life and or Karmic perspective. She has included the elements, the houses, the inner and outer planets, as well as the nodes of the moon giving adroit interpretations of all. I found the Body-Planet Correspondences quite useful, with such examples as, Mercury - respiration, brain, nervous system, Uranus - circulatory system, pineal gland, chemical/electrical circuitry in the brain, and eight others. I would have liked to see a more thorough synopsis of both inner and outer planets in relation to individual signs. A read geared for the Intermediate to Advanced student; however, still accessible for the novice.
Very informative and well written book. I didn't finish it all, but I read the things that concerned me and my life. Will have to update.. On a sidenote, I have to mention that I learned lots of veery interesting things, such as my favourite topic of how certain karmic vouws from past life incarnations could affect this current life's potentials, including vows of celibacy, poverty, etc. However I will need to read the others zodiac descriptions in case a friend needs assistance and help in their chart. :)
While I enjoyed the insight Jody Hall presented on using astrology to interpret past lives, she did leave out very basic information regarding how to read a chart. The sources listed at the end were helpful for making a chart. She could have had one chapter in the beginning about basic chart reading and symbols. She talks about the Moon's nodes, but if you use a charting site that doest include the South node its confusing. Many little instances like this arise from the beginner's perspective of her book.
This book was very short and not particularly detailed.
This common mistake in karmic Astrology books is made: Not mentioning that some of the karma will be false, when a person wasn't born when planned; with a late or early term, or induced labour. When this happens, a person can renounce all of this false karma and focus only on the karma which they were meant to resolve in this lifetime.
This book was super confusing for me to figure out all the symbols of my 'birth chart'. It held some valuable information regarding my current position in life, but I fail to understand where any 'past life' connections were woven into the information. 😵💫💫
