The highly anticipated sequel to the Valentine's novella, Sweet Girl, is finally here!
Chloe
My life was perfectly fine. I had my own business, friends, and even a fiancé. Everything was going just fine. Until he showed up again—Gavin, also known as the god of lust, Eros. He was thrown back into my life when his company, Cupid’s Arrow, hired mine for their tenth anniversary marketing plan. It’s been five years since we last saw each other, but somehow, it's like no time has passed at all. I don’t understand why seeing him again should change anything. It was a one-night stand, nothing more. But I can’t stay away from him. It feels like something more is pulling me toward him, something ancient and otherworldly—as if my soul craves his. God, that sounds ridiculous. And yet, I know it’s true.
Gavin
For five years, I’ve searched for the woman I can’t get out of my head, who made me feel truly alive, even though it was just a one-night stand. And for five years, she escaped me. I was beginning to think she was a mere figment of my imagination until my company hired hers for our tenth anniversary marketing plan. Now, she’s back in my life, and I can’t stay away. I know she’s engaged, but what’s between us is more than the lust she swears it is. I’m beginning to think she’s someone I lost long ago, someone who I had forgotten—who the world has forgotten. I’ll do whatever I have to do to make her mine.
I enjoyed reuniting with Gavin and Chloe. Love the plot and how Jack ended Chloe's engagement without resorting to the cliche cheating. That twist caught me off guard, but it made sense. Jack managed the idea of gods and mythology well and made a interesting story.
This was good. Not as good as the novella that came before it, but still pretty great. The only other Eros x Psyche book/ retelling I've ever read was the awesome Katee Robert's Electric Idol and that book is easily my favourite in that entire series! So, to say I was excited about this one is truly an understatement.
The main reason why this is only three stars even though I did really enjoy this is because I really can't get behind the fact that
This was an extremely angsty, slow-burn romance, with the soulmates trope and morally grey things happening between the MCs, and descriptions of domestic abuse (not by the MMC) to the FMC.
🌶️🌶️🌶️ / 5 - Not as spicy as the novella, but great once we get there!
I was so excited to have Chloe & Gavin back in my life!! I’ve been wanting more of them since Jack first released Sweet Girl (you can read Finding You as a standalone… but you should read Sweet Girl first).
Fast forward 5 years and Chloe is engaged when fate brings her and Gavin back together. The tension between them, and their chemistry?! CHEFS KISS. You can feel it jumping off the page.
I loved getting more peeks into the Greek mythology and meeting more characters… hello Hades & Persephone!!! And the twist Jack pulled off in regards to another one of Chloe’s ex’s and her traumatic past?? AHHHHMAZING!!!
Chloe really makes Gavin work for it, instead of just giving in- which totally gave me life, because Gavin is a smooth, cocky, good looking guy and he totally knows it 😂.
Also- shout out to the worlds best best friend, Lana! She keeps it real, tells Chloe exactly like it is, and supports her unconditionally. I love her big.
I had a MINOR issue with the cheating aspect but I knew it was coming and I expected it because HELLO- these two are fated. Plus the fiancé is a total jerk.. soooo 🤷🏻♀️😂.
In true Jack fashion this book is SPICY AF.. all the Chili’s!! I sometimes forget how well Jack writes spice… such a queen.
Run and go get this book immediately!

It took me too long to read this book and I wasn’t sure if I should write a review but nonetheless here it is…
I loved and hated this.
This first 50% dragged on and just felt like an eternity to get to where we needed to go. Once I read past 50% things started getting good and THEY FINALLY KISSED.
so if ur expecting it to be like sweet girl it’s definitely similar but it’s very much slow burn for at least half of the book.
Other than that… I LOVE GAVIN.
Eros and Psyche and soulmates and I loved reading about these characters and their chemistry could be felt from the page.
Ultimately I had so choice but to give it 5⭐️ (because the ending was so good)
E cosa è successo secoli prima a Psiche?
I thought I loved the prequel, but this full length novel was brilliant. This modern retelling of Eros/Psyche has me in a chokehold. Going into this book, I already had a connection to Chloe and Gavin because the novella was so eloquently told that you couldn't help but fall in love with both characters. Chloe and Gavin pick up in this story 5 years after their steamy, Valentine's day meeting. The character development, the plot, the spice, all of it was chef's kiss. If you haven't had a chance to read this book, I highly recommend.
I loved the relationship building and bits and pieces left by the author throughout the story. I did find it a little predictable and felt like the entire book could have been sped up a tad bit. Overall, I really enjoyed the novella and this book.
This book is going to be my whole personality for the foreseeable future! I am obsessed and I can’t recommend this story enough! Gavin has my whole heart and he is top tier book husband material! Chloe’s journey was just that, a journey! The strength and resilience she needed and showed… I am in awe of her! Jack created such an amazing world and characters with so much depth… this will live in my head rent free for a long while! Definitely a top read of 2023 so far!
Respectfully I have been waiting what feels like ages to read this & finally getting the ARC absolutely did me in. Jack has a way of making you fall for her characters through her writing, so immediately after reading Sweet Girl I was anxiously awaiting the full length novel of Chloe and Gavin's story.
I was not disappointed by it! Jack created a fresh new world where you get to meet all these new characters, see this incredible plot unfolding & really have a chance to enjoy the slow burn and spice between Chloe and Gavin all over again. The time jump between the novella and novel makes the story that much more impactful & really gives the reader a deeper look into such complex characters.
I cannot wait for more from Jack, always in need of more of her writing & her amazing characters. This is a book I'll be thinking about a long time after reading it!
Thank you for the ARC Jack, you never fail to amaze me!
Before you start reading this book, I would seriously advice you to read the Novella "Sweet girl" first. Also, if you don't like cheating tropes, don't read this book, because you will probably get upset like I did, because although from the blurb there was a 50/50 chance to have one in it, I was still not ready and in my personal opinion it was completely unnecessary, and could've been left out, and hence make the book so much better. But that is just my personal opinion. If you do like cheating tropes or you don't have personally anything against them, you will probably enjoy this book even more than I did.
But apart from all this, let me first tell you what I really loved about this book: First of all, I really loved the whole concept of the book! I think the whole idea of god's living as humans on earth was pretty cool and unique and I had a lot of fun reading it. I especially think it was cool that the author chose Cupid/Eros, because that was a story that I personally never heard of. Hence, I had to read a lot about Greek mythology while reading it which gave me some extra knowledge. That's also, why I personally didn't have any problems with the author having some fictional freedom, and adding things that were out of the usual Greek mythology stories. Moreover, I really loved the relationship between Gavin and Chloe. The emotions and their relationship was extremely well-developed and the smut was also very well -written and hot 🔥. I felt a lot of emotions while reading the book. Plus the author perfectly executed the god of lust and desire in Gavin as a character. In fact, it has been the best smut I've read in a while and I'm so thankful for the author to show me that there are still people out there who can write good erotic scenes, because lately I feel like I'm just reading crap in that area.
The reasons why I had to subtract 1.5 stars in this book though was because of : - the cheating trope that could've been avoided. Chloe still didn't leave her fiancé, even though she knew he was bad for her. In fact it took her 70% of the book to leave him, and when she decided to finally do so, she slept with Gavin a day before she wanted to leave her fiancé. Which ruined the book for me partly, to be honest. - I'm not quite sure about the whole Apollo thing in the storyline. In my head it made sense, because it fitted the storyline, but at the same time it was all to quickly resolved with her regaining her memories, and I was a bit confused at the last chapter . Maybe that was the intention of the author, or I was just too stupid to understand . -Lastly, and that's just a "me" thing and a "me" problem -and no one would probably care - I found it very weird that all the characters drank was coffee, Bloody Mary's and vodka. This is actually a thing though, that I realised happens in a lot of books where the characters are in their 20's and even in their 30's. It's almost always mentioned when they drink something, that it's something alcoholic, which makes me as a reader feel like the main protagonists are alcoholics and living a very unhealthy life-style. Maybe I'm weird and that's how proper adults live, but I think it wouldn't be too bad, if there were a few scenes where something else than alcohol as a beverage would've been mentioned.
All in all I liked this book and really enjoyed the love scenes in this one, but the cheating trope was the main thing that took the joy of the book away and made me rate 3.5 stars.

Ok so here’s the thing. I think I got in my own way with this book haha. I had to fight from comparing it to Katee Robert’s Electric Idol constantly. Which I realize isn’t fair, BUT I COULDN’T HELP IT IM SORRY.
That being said, I did love the slow burn aspect and of course the spice. It was well written and Eros’s dirty talk? PLEASE
This book was incredible. I read the prequel novella, Sweet Girl, last year, and I was absolutely OBSESSED. And this full length novel that follows did NOT disappoint. I loved every minute of it. Gavin and Chloe are some of my favorite book characters, and they are absolutely top tier as an eros/cupid and psyche retelling. Go read it. You won't regret it.
“You are the person I want to sit down with at the end of the day and watch shit television with until we both fall asleep together on the couch. You're the person I want to wake up beside every morning and burn breakfast with because I can’t keep my hands off you. You’re the person I want to love and hold on my darkest days, the one I want to escape this world with on all the others.”

Chloe's life is perfectly fine. She has her own company, a fiancé, and great friends. She's content with everything the way it is. That is until Gavin, aka Eros, the God of Lust, walks back into her life five years after they had a one night stand. Chloe's perfectly fine life is shaken to its' core when she finds herself being pulled toward him. Secrets are uncovered and Gavin and Chloe learn that their connection runs deeper than their one night together.
This was one of my most anticipated reads for 2023 and it did not disappoint. I love the world that Jack built, specifically her take on Greek mythology. I found that element to be the most interesting and really enjoyed her takes on the different gods and goddesses. If she were to expand this world, I'd love to see more about Persephone and Hades.
Gavin and Chloe were so sweet together. I enjoyed that their story was a mix of second chances and friends to lovers. I adore Gavin with my whole heart and was a puddle with the way he loved Chloe. He showed her how worthy she was of a great love and having someone that treats her like a queen. I personally sided with his decision to not tell her one of the secrets because he wanted their relationship to be built on a strong foundation and not influenced by anything. He's so obsessed with Chloe and would scorch the world for her.
Thank you to Jack Whitney for the early copy in exchange for an honest review!
As I stated in my review of book one Gavin and Chloe will continue to live rent-free in my head for all time. Gavin and Chloe's story continues in book two with a meeting of chance after years of being pulled apart. After all it was just one night, Right? When I tell you these two will make your heart swoon with delight, (place a hand on your heart and inhale the pure delight that is Chloe and Gavin) the book in itself will make you utterly love their love story. They are like a literal moth to a flame. Their universal attraction is something most humans yearn for. Chloe is back and being her sassy fiery self and has now started her own business. Chloe is engaged to someone other than Gavin, and Gavin still runs a successful online Dating app Arrow. One night between Gavin and Chloe still haunts the dreams of our two mains as their hearts desire to feel the presence of each other.
Jack Whitney managed to do it again. Creating two relatable, realistic characters is the theme of this book. The beautifully written details and descriptions of the scenes and scenarios will make you feel as intimate as what is being depicted. As with any dark romance book check your trigger warnings before you dive completely into this story as there are depictions of Domestic Abuse, but only in memory form. Jack took special care to make sure before you read a chapter that the triggers are listed under the header so you have a chance to skip the chapter if it's too much.
Eloquently written, deep storyline, and also without giving too much away a newly discovered Dark Romance genre that makes my heart swoon.
I'm in love with Jack's writing and this world she created with Gavin (AKA Eros) and Chloe. I loved Sweet Girl, and I was so longing for and anticipating Finding You. Let me tell you, Jack did not disappoint! I really love the mythology approach. It was well executed, and normally, I don't like a friends to lovers trope, but damn, this sucked me right in!
A beautifully written sequel to the holiday themed novella, Sweet Girl. Finding you was a breath of fresh air. As someone who tends to lean on more of a darker romance and *usually* finds sweet romances kind of boring… this was not the case with Finding You. It has just the right amount of sweet mixed with drama sprinkled in with a tad bid of mystery. I would love to read more about this couple in the future!
I didn’t know I could fall more in love with Jack Whitney’s writing but here we are … I absolutely adored Sweet Girl but I am completely OBSESSED with Finding You. I enjoyed the Greek mythology twists in this story - loving all the cameos of other well known gods & goddesses.
I couldn’t get enough of watching Chloe & Gavin fall in love with each other. The way this man talks to her was DIVINE … I was screaming at Chloe for making him work so hard and denying them both what is PALPABLE tension 😮💨 but they can’t fight that tension and when they do give in it is *delicious*
I’m so in love with this story and these characters. I need so much more of this world!!!
𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 ➵ second chance ➵ Greek mythology ➵ all the angst ➵ soulmates ➵ d¡rty talk ➵ temperature play (wax) ➵ sensory deprivation (sight) ➵ light ¡mpact play
Better than I could have ever hoped for it to be!!!
Sweet Girl is one of my favorite novellas. It has some slight references to greek mythology and lots of romance and sweetness and great dialogue and, yup, greatttt spice. I really really really wanted more of Gavin and Chloe's story while also hoping that it would live up to how good the novella was. WELL FRET NOT- IT WAS AMAZING.
Jack Whitney is serioouslyyyyyy underrated. Her talent is truly astounding and every book she releases just proves this point time and time again. Finding You's writing style, the way the character's stories come to life, the freaking amazing and hilarious banter/dialogue between not only the main couple but between everyone is just *chefs kiss*!!! SO so good. I love how Jack takes her time in telling the characters' stories. Fully developing and revealing all the details. Even making the "side" characters read as main characters.
It includes representation, witty dialogue, self healing, trauma recovery, believing in love (once again), the idea of soulmates, GREEK MYTHOLOGY!!!!, slow burn, AND so much more. Such cute creative scenes. Lots of suspenseful scenes too. Lots of greattttttt build up, angst and just moments that really make your heart melt.
ALSO Jack does a great job of giving the reader content warnings, espc in very critical chapters. How considerate and amazing of an author to do so. Every other author pLEASE TAKE NOT.
I don't want to give much away, I think going into this story blind makes it all the more fun and enteraining to read. I truly enjoyed all of it.
ALSO CAN WE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE GET LANA'S BOOK. ?!?!!? ALSO MORE HADES AND PERSEPHONE!??!??!!? I LOVE YOUR TAKE ON ALL THESE CHARACTERS. MORE MORE MORE PLEASEEEEEE. THANK YOUUU!!!!
All my love and appreciation goes to Jack for this ARC. Sweet Girl was so good and I've been obsessed with Gavin and Chloe since then. Their meeting 5 years after the fact was so special and then when Gavin realized she was engaged hurt me just as much as it hurt him. What I love so much about Jack is that her writing really makes you feel what the characters are going through. There is such a special connection between them even if Chloe tries to deny it. The problem is that Chloe has her reasons for denying the strong emotions that Gavin evokes from her. She hasn't had an easy past and its hard for her to give up control. Another thing I really loved was the Greek mythology aspect and the introduction of some of the gods. I love Hades and Persephone and their cute pop ups, even seeing Ares and Aphrodite together was great. I had strong suspicions of what went on in Chloe's past really early on and I was so worried about what would happen If I were right. I was genuinely as distraught as Chloe when they truth came out, it was so awful that I absolutely do not blame Gavin for his reaction. Jack does a really great job of putting trigger warning on the chapters as a heads up and I really appreciated that. The side characters also contributed so much to this story, I love Lana and Chloe's friendship as much as I loved to see Eros and Persephone.
Started the novella just wanting a quick read but I had to know what happened next!! I’m not too good with mythology so I was a little confused sometimes but nothing too crazy. Gavin had me screaming and squealing the whole book 🫣
“Finding You” is the sequel to my favorite Jack Whitney book of all time: “Sweet Girl”
“Finding You” picks up five years post Valentine’s party. Chloe is now the owner of a design firm and Gavin (Eros) is still the CEO of the popular dating app, Cupids Arrow. After Gavin’s company outsources their work for an upcoming project, Gavin and Chloe are reunited once more.
Their attraction to one another had me hooked the entire story. However, the “will she, won’t she” aspect got exhausting after the halfway point. I’ve never had an issue with second chance romance, but he being engaged and still tempting Gavin really rubbed me the wrong way. Chloe talks so highly of herself but it took her over 75% of the book to finally cut ties with her fiancé. I appreciated Gavin’s patience, and respected that he set boundaries with Chloe; at times, respecting her relationship more than her.
The part of this story that I did not see coming was the Greek mythology arhat is continued. Of course, we already know that Gavin is a god, but we are completely in the dark as to who else is. To include more gods and goddesses in this story really created further pathways to write more in this world, and I hope Whitney chooses to do so (I’d loooove a Hades and Persephone story!).
3.75 stars. Fantastic smut, but the FMC held on too tightly to her miserable relationship that I ended up having to skip chapters to see Gavin again.
Firstly, make sure you read “sweet girl” the novella, before reading this book.
I loved this book, I don’t normally go for a Greek mythology retelling but I loved the first novella so much I had to read more.
I’m so glad I picked this up, it’s exactly that I needed, sweet and smutty and full of twists. Gavin and Chloe are such a perfect couple, this is real love, the blueprint.
"It’s when you only see them in the middle of a crowded room. It’s how you look at the person you want to hold while you fall asleep, the person you want to feel around you when you wake up, who brings you joy, and who it agonizes you to be apart from.”
I really liked how the other greek gods and goddesses got introduced without ruining the plot, it all just slotted in so nicely. I’m excited to see more from them all, especially Lana and Zayn.
This book does have some triggering parts so please do read the trigger warnings beforehand.
While I LOVE the twist on a mythology retelling, my favorite part of this was how respectfully and (IMO) authentically the lingering effects of emotionally (and physically) abusive relationships, even years later.
Also I’m a sucker for “My Wife” 🫠
On the long side compared to my usual romance romps, but well worth it to get such a fleshed out story. Only complaint would be to cut a TINY bit from the middle to give us a little more at the end.
JW is fast becoming an auto buy author for me. The dedication page for this book alone would do it. 💜
"How lucky am I, to get to love you every day." 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5
Book 2/2 (read Sweet Girl first!) Paranormal romance Second chance romance Reincarnated lovers (sort of) Eros x Psyche retelling The one that got away Cheating Slow burn Praise with a tiny bit of degradation Dirty talk Video s3x Toy play Impact play Edging and teasing Wax play
This was PERFECTION. Literally perfection. Sweet Girl set the vibe for this book and this story exceeded all my expectation. I am such a sucker for second chance romance and reincarnated lovers. The yearning. The tension. The heartache. It gets me every time.
Chloe and Gavin (Eros, god of lust) had a one night stand in the Sweet Girl novella. 5 years later, Gavin has tried to find Chloe again but failed. Until his company hires Chloe's company for rebranding. Gavin is shocked when he sees her again, and so is Chloe. One problem; she's engaged to someone else. Meanwhile, Gavin is suspicious that Chloe might be his lost soulmate. But how can they be together when she's to marry another man?
First of all, I've seen some people lowering their rating because there is cheating in this book. Personally, I loved it. It added to the tension, and it made Chloe more human and more relatable to me. I love Chloe in general. I love how she is unapologetically herself, at least with Lana and Gavin. A plus size, confident queen who has a toy collection and loves monster romance, that's what she is and I was cheering her on the entire book. Gavin is literally perfection. He has all the love languages perfected. And the YEARNING. My heart hurt so bad for him. The plot was actually surprising; I was a little scared it would be predictable but there were some twists and turns that I didn't see coming and there was enough action beside the romance plot. Now, I have very little patience so slow burns are usually not for me, but this burn was perfect. So much tension building but also a few scenes sprinkled here and there to take the edge off. Now, that is how you do a slow burn. And once it started burning, it was literal fireworks. I can't say enough good things about this book.
I am so in love with this book. I’ve been dying to read it from the moment I knew of its existence because 𝑺𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍 was one of my favorite reads last year. When the ARC popped up in my email this morning, I knew my day was done for. Chloe and Gavin are one of my favorite couples ever. Their love for one another is everything and their story was perfection in every way.
