Raul dismisses it, but a day later, his friend is found dead in a motel room two hundred miles away.

When Raul arrives in the small town his friend described, it appears postcard perfect, as do the residents. However, as he digs into its history, he discovers that the town square is fake, the police chief harbors secrets, everyone seems related in some way, and something nefarious is occurring in the surrounding woodlands.

Then, seemingly coincidentally, Raul meets five others in town who have also noticed something off. As they join forces, they soon learn that something far more sinister is unfolding. And worse, what they uncover hits closer to home for Raul than he could have imagined. Could it be bigger than any of them are equipped to handle?

Raul Booth receives a strange call from his friend, a friend who was obviously afraid of what he had witnessed. When his friend is found dead…miles away, Raul will not rest until her finds out what happened to him. Arriving in Shadow Valley, he senses immediately that there is something very wrong in this town. He meets up with others, including a former CIA female agent, who are also investigating the town. Breaking into the guarded facility is just one of their ways to find out what is going in a laboratory, especially when he believed that he recognized his missing sister-in-law, Lydia. His brother Asher, had told him that his wife had left him and taken their five children. If this was Lydia, where are the children? What he and his group learn about the facility, brings to mind something out of the Twilight Zone. Can they rescue Lydia and her children and put a stop to whatever evil is taking place in Shadow Valley? I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. SHADOW GAME begins a new mystery series that will leave you with goosebumps and chills up your spine. It also opens up a lot of questions, some for which you will get answers, others I’m sure the answers are yet to come. What’s really going on in this idyllic isolated town? Raul Booth goes looking for answers but finds more than he was bargaining for. This is a tale that is sure to make your blood run cold and send shivers through your soul with a message that will resonate deep inside and leave you wondering about its implications and possibilities, and even worse its probabilities. You are going to want to read this, but fair warning, once you start you are not going to be able to put it down. And when you reach the end, you’re going to want to hug those you love and hold on tight because what if this is all true?

The first in a new series, this book is suspenseful, haunting and compelling. It makes for some very tense, edge of your seat reading and wondering could this really happen and what would I do in a situation like this? It certainly left me feeling unsettled, but that is also the sign of a story well told. The author has given her readers fascinating characters and a compelling storyline that instantly grab your attention and hold it until you have consumed the whole book. The subject matter, abduction and human experimentation, is horrifying and teetering on unbelievable, because of course none of us wants to be believe it could happen. But the what ifs may well haunt after reading this book.

I highly recommend this riveting book to all those who enjoy suspense and psychological thrillers.

Raul is an ex-cop and many other things. His brother lives in a cabin in the woods. His wife and five children left one day and cannot be found. One day, Raul receives a desperate call from his friend Wyatt. A hidden town. Not on maps. Weird people. Danger. He is on his way to Raul but never arrives. The next day Raul receives a phone call — Wyatt has been found dead in a motel two hundred miles away. From here on we have a brilliant story and cannot wait until the next one comes out.

Enjoyable, suspenseful throughout. Leaves you with lots of questions. Forgettable storyline in the long run, but nice quick thriller read.

Shadow Game is a new series with more hard hitting stories. This story will give you chills and make you question what our world is coming to. I look forward to reading more in this series!
