Welcome to the Circus is a brand-new series that centers around a family that owns a circus, 6 sisters and one brother. This is book 1 featuring Coffey and Simi!

Sometimes you need to crash a funeral to experience happiness.

At least, Kissimmee Singh, aerial artist for Singh Circus, the most sought-after traveling circus of all time, keeps telling herself that’s why she crashes funerals.

In reality, she’s lost and confused. Sometimes it’s nice to experience other people’s grief and be reminded that life isn’t as bad as it could be.

Though attending the funeral of some random old man that died of cancer wasn’t supposed to change her life completely. It does.

With one look at the grieving man and woman, she realizes that this was one funeral she probably should’ve stayed away from.

He’s in a black suit, black undershirt, black gloves, and black shoes. He looks like the devil himself.

When she tries to make a run for it, he follows and demands to know why she’s there.

If she’d known he was going to be trouble, she’d have stayed away. If she’d known that he’d follow her to their next stop, she might’ve tried a little harder to hide who she was. What she was.

But she didn’t.

Instead, she gave him everything in one single night. And will live to regret it.

You had me at circus.

I have read one other book by this author which has been a while so I can't really remember the details of the book.

Whereas I enjoyed this book it seemed kind of insta-love and the plot was confusing right up until the end only then did it make sense.

I am definitely going to check out the rest of the series.

I love Ms. Vale’s creativity. She writes up some fun and interesting characters and Coffey and Simi are no exception. The plot takes is into the world of the Singh Circus and the compelling family circle that sparked my curiosity. The plot followed LLV’s signature OTT antics and it was fun to read. I can’t wait to see what she does next!

Kissimmee Singh is part of the Singh Circus, with her 6 sisters and brother. They travel from city to city and perform a few days before moving on. On their latest tour, Simi gets the urge to crash a funeral, she doesn't expect anything to come of it but sees Coffey who she knows is out of her league.

Coffey is attending his dad's service with his sister, he sees Simi and is perplexed as to why she is there. Seeing her again, they share a drink and one night that haunts his memories after she is gone. Deciding to make a major change in his life and joins the Circus as their cook. When he sees Simi again he knows he made the right decision, but a dead body, amnesia, and a mad man are adding a bit of chaos and it is all swirling around Simi. Will Coffey be able to keep her safe?

This was delightful. Completely different and I was not sure if I would be a fan of the circus theme but this works and I love the Singh family. Each character is unique and you are also introduced to Navy men, Football stars and more. So many possibilities for future books. Coffey and Simi are wonderful together, they are quirky and get each other, seamless. Wonderful read.

Fun House kicks off a new series focused on the fabulous Singh family and their traveling circus! Kissimmee is an aerial artist and Coffey is a chef. They have their meet cute at Coffey's father's funeral-which is weirdly perfect for them.

Simi comes from a big, nosy family. They are always in each other's business. Naturally, they are all in her and Coffey's business. Coffey comes to see her on the last day the circus is in town for their first date of sorts. Its all really cute. But, she is in a traveling circus and he has a job in a town. That doesn't stop them from having a wonderful love story! Coffey was perfect! I just loved him. There is some mystery/danger which was unexpectedly delightful. Overall, Fun House is another win for LLV and kicks off what is sure to be a great series.

I love Lani lynn vale (maybe spoilers)

Most of the time… this book notsomuch. For one thing, it’s both really rushed and really slow at the same time. The main male character is supposed to be former military, an assassin, SEAL or something, I’ve forgotten what all he is supposed to be and then suddenly, out of nowhere, he’s a type 1 diabetic. She has him drinking 6 beers the first time he meets the fmc at a bar… alcohol is a carb and basically turns into sugar. I guess we’re supposed to also ignore the fact that Type 1 diabetes is an automatic disqualifying condition for the military (probably even more so if you’re insulin dependent). Really disappointed in the author not doing her research AND for the fact that at times it seems like she just wrote a bunch of things on pieces of paper and just pulled them out of a hat at random times to add to the story. Another problem is useless info, characters are added for no particular reason and add nothing to the story. Ok, now, the last 2 complaints I have are 1) there’s really no chemistry what so ever with the main characters. They’re pretty unlikeable for the most part and that’s including the fact that everyone else in the story comes across as complete and total jerks only there for the main characters to play off of which is supremely annoying and 2) all the way through the book she talks about being one of seven siblings (my dad was promiscuous, he had 7 kids by 7 women, my dad wasn’t monogamous, all of us are by 7 different women)…. But there’s a set of twins? Are they quaternary twins (no, that’s not possible, yes I’m being sarcastic). I loathe stuff like this, it’s your story and if you can’t keep it straight how do you expect your readers to deal with it?
I waited with absolute bated breath for this book to come out, actually had a reminder set on my phone to remind me to get it in audio as well. What an absolute letdown.
I will probably read the next one as well because evidently I’m a diehard fan and can’t imagine NOT reading it but I am seriously praying it’s 1,000% better than this one.

So excited for this new series! After getting to know a few characters in the last book released from LLV, I was excited to see how she would spin this new series, and while it’s not MC-based, it’s just as exciting and intriguing as those series, and this first book sucked me in! Coffeey has recently lost his father after going through a divorce and isn’t really sure what he wants to do with his life post military career, but when he meets Simi, he sees what he wants his future to be. Simi is part of the circus that her family runs and loves it and is unapologetically herself. Part of her quirky personality, in each town the circus goes to, she looks up and attends funerals where she has no relation or knowledge about, and Coffeey’s father is the one she chooses in town. Fate intervenes again when they run into each other at a local bar, and Coffeey stands up for Simi when she starts to get bullied and ridiculed by a group of drunk men. Just when you think that’s the story, LLV throws a wrench through things when Coffeey decides to take a job with Simi’s circus, and a murder happens, and she of course is the subject of the sheriff’s attack, which causes a crazy wild event in which Simi loses her memory! I continued to read this on the edge of my seat, and the twists get even more twisted when they loop in the murder of Simi’s mother decades ago. I loved this book and couldn’t get enough, and it makes me so excited for the next installment of this series!

This is hard to review. There were times when this book was interesting. A murder mystery at a Cirque Du Soliel style circus. A small-town sheriff with a chip on his shoulder. A man who moves across the country and joins the circus after one night with a woman. A small bought of amnesia. The problem for me was that I didn't find either main character interesting enough to carry the quieter moments in the book. I kept jumping between bored and WTF? The initial interactions between the main characters are them just talking and getting to know each other. I realize that this is what people do when they are interested in someone new but as a reader it was boring. There was no spark or tension. I felt like a fly on the wall for a very normal date.

I don't think I will continue this series. Only because these books are not on KU and my library doesn't carry them. If that changes, I may pick up the next one to see if the next couple holds my attention more.

Ms. Vale continues to entertain with this exhilarating and steamy series starter set in the circus world! Featuring larger than life characters and a storyline full of unexpected twists and turns, along with a romance that kept me glued to the pages, Ms. Vale has crafted a decadently delightful tale that put a smile on my face while making me blush a time or two along the way. Captivating me from the very beginning I was quickly immersed into the Singh family, finding their connections endearing, and looking forward to where life takes each of them in future installments.

Kissimmee "Simi" Singh is one of six sisters, and one brother, who make a living running their family's circus and traveling from one town to the next in a life that seems exciting but is also lonely. Simi's an aerial artist who has no fear when spinning through the air, outspoken and full of sass, but with a bit of loneliness surrounding her too. She exudes confidence and strength but there's uncertainty when thinking about love, romance, and the future. She's the kind of heroine you're immediately drawn to, and the moment she and Coffey locked glances, readers know they're going to be in for one heckuva entertaining journey.

Coffey Simiencia is the kind of hero who's not all that he seems. He exudes danger through the tats he shows the world, but also those on his hands that he hides from the world. He's a man who's protective of those he cares about, a man willing to do whatever necessary to keep danger at bay no matter the damage that may be done to his soul. He's a man who wears his heart on his sleeve who made my heart hurt too while he dealt with the death of his father. The connection he had with his father was heartwarming and it spoke volumes about the man he truly was and the kind of love he wanted to experience. The words of wisdom expressed by his father brought a tear to my eye while showing strength and love wrapped in the sweet and sexy package that is Coffey. Coffey's a compelling dichotomy with an instant attraction to Simi that just crackled. He was open and honest when it came to his feelings and emotions, letting Simi be who she was while embracing her wholeheartedly in a romance that was scorching yet sentimental. With Coffey present though there was also suspense and mystery, twists and turns that had me on edge a time or two while cranking up the heat.

On a whole this was a cleverly crafted romance with an unforgettable setting, one full of magic and mystery that grabbed me immediately and never let me go. The Singh family are a colorful clan who are larger than life with each sibling making their mark and leaving me counting down the days until each of them takes center stage. The balance between romance and suspense was perfect, keeping my heart racing and my cheeks flushing in a satisfying journey to HEA. Along with the new faces of the Singh family were those faces working with Coffey, a group who have dark pasts of their own but are still on the lookout for danger. They're a compelling group who I look forward to seeing more of in the future as the banter amongst them was thoroughly entertaining. There were other familiar faces, amongst them was Folsom, and they were a wonderful addition to the story and a very believable way to tie all these books together. Ms. Vale is an author you can always count on to entertain, an author that keeps you guessing through all sorts of delightful highs and lows...an author who I can't get enough of while recommending to everyone!

Fab start to a new series. Coffey is swoontastic!!

"Regardless of if I barely knew Coffey, there was something about him that was different. Something about him that I wanted to experience over and over again until forever."

Kissimmee AKA Simi Singh meets Coffey Simiencia when she gatecrashes his father's funeral (yeah, that's her thing!). From the moment their eyes meet, there is a mutual attraction but Simi thinks he's hot enough to hurt her, so she dashes out of the funeral. He catches up to her and later sees her in a bar. Before long, he turns up to their family circus to see her. The simmering desire between them combusts into an unforgettable night. Weeks later, he turns up in the next town joining their crew as chef, just when things take a slightly sinister turn for the circus. But, it doesn't stop Simi and Coffey from falling for each other. If anything, Coffey shows her exactly the kind of caring, dependable and protective man he is.

Well, this series gets off to a sexy, explosive start! We get the usual unusual fare from this fab author of humour, sexiness, darkness and the unexpected. Simi was quirky, honest and sweet. Coffey was flipping gorgeous, accepting and swoony. I loved their connection and chemistry. The trust built quickly between them, and Simi just knew in her gut that he was her guy and on her side in every way. Can't wait for the next one!

Soooo good. It had everything I love about LLV books. It had romance, mystery, humor, and more. I loved Coffey Simi and the progression of the relationship. Yeah, it was super fast paced but for these characters, they just clicked and it worked for them. The mystery was amazing. I had feelings but was never sure, and that’s always an amazing quality in a book that has some mystery. I can’t wait to see the other Singh siblings get books! I’m loving this new world and cast of characters. 5 stars #2OCCJD

“Singh Circus”

What a great start to this new series!!

Love finds you, son. You don’t find love.”

She crashed his father’s funeral with very few people there he couldn’t miss this gorgeous woman.

“Grief is like an ocean.” He smiled a small smile that hurt to see. “It’s deep and dark and bigger than all of us put together.

After a wild night he couldn’t get her out of his mind.
He has to follow her straight into a seriously crazy situation.

When she is the first thing that I think about every single day. How is she? Does she miss me like I miss her? How do I get her to come back? Or, how do I go to her?

This new series certainly started with a big bang and it’s gonna be hard to top this one that’s for sure but I know this amazing author is up for the challenge.

Crazy in a way only a circus can be

The Singh family all have crazy names, crazy skills, crazy costumes and a crazy intolerance of each other but they are family and nobody gets to target one of them without facing the wrath of all!
Simi doesn't need her family to have her back, but knowing they do, is everything.
Coffey is lost in grief and only Simi seems to be able to pierce the shadows and offer any light. He knows he is a little crazy to pack up his life and follow a woman he has spent one night with.....but he also knows it is right, it is meant to be and Simi is his future.
It's fast, furious, ridiculous and perfect with corruption, terror, twists, turns and falls, a fantastic start to the series.

Simi has a thing for crashing funerals. No, it's not for morbid reasons or anything, but it's a way of watching people but not having to really talk to them or know them. Her family's circus is in town, she's a little bored and a little curious about this small town, so off she goes. She has no idea that the gorgeous guy who is obviously grieving will be the man to change her life.

A chance encounter at his father's funeral changes Coffey's path. With a windfall inheritance, and a letter from his dad to nudge him, he's off to find his beautiful funeral crasher. Once he finds her, he plans on keeping her, making a life with her and her family. He'll have to protect her, protect them, and bring his crew along for the ride, so that he can obtain that brass ring he sees in his future.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I heard that Lani's new series would be set in a circus. Of course she came through in the biggest of ways, though, because I love this series, this family already. Simi and her siblings are quirky, snarky, and funny, and obviously love each other and have each other's backs. They may snap at each other and drive each other crazy, but there's a solid family here. Then there's Coffey, a mysterious man of contrasts. He seems foreboding on the outside, obviously has secrets and a past, but with Simi he's a big softie. There's suspense in the form of a mystery with a truly awful villain at the center, and Coffey and his crew couldn't have been more awesome as they took care of business. I didn't think I could love a couple as much as I love some of the ones in Lani's past series, but I think Simi and Coffey have just taken the number 1 spot in my heart full of Lani's amazing couples. I can't wait for Caristonia and Slone's story up next - Freak Show!

This was a good start to a new series. We got to know the whole Singh family and I’m most interested in Keene’s story (which is last in the series I thing). Both H and h were like able and on equal footing sexually which is a nice change from a lot of LLV book. Also, there wasn’t anything over the top traumatic that happens to either the H or h which is also a nice change. No gun shot to the head or loss of hands here. The trauma that does occurs is resolved fairly quickly.

Going forward will be interesting because I have a love/like/hate with this author. There is not one single series that I can say I liked all of the books. Some I like the majority and some the minority but I hope with all I have that the book I dislike the most won’t be Keenes.

Oh Lani never fails me.

Coffeey and Simi's story is quite the rollercoaster of WTF, How and give me more.

Coffeey just experienced the biggest loss of his life. The most impactful, his dad. Feeling lost amongst the chaos he spots a random woman in the back of his dads service and investigates. Safe to say he got more than he bargained for. Coffeey was the strangest combination of closed of and yet open to her. He didn't try to deny his feelings of fight the pull, he just went with the flow and followed the sound advice of his pops, find your love, get married and sprout lots of babies. He was sweet in the way of protecting Simi and supporting her life. He didn't try to change things, he just slid seamlessly into her life as if he'd always been there.

Simi our silks queen with her crazy tumbles and larger than life, life. She is used to fighting for what she wants and being unafraid to ask. I guess you need to be living the life she had surrounded but many siblings and extended family. I loved how she had a sharp tongue and a short fuse. She was feisty and sweet and did the most for those she loved.. even when she didn't always like them. Family was important to her. The life they all built, The people they employed that became family. The circus is her life.

I loved them. I loved how they met, as crazy as it was it had me laughing so hard!. I really enjoyed them getting to know one another amongst the chaos and just seamlessly knowing they were it for one another. The chemistry was CRAZY!. That first time..... fire. But they also just had great banter and a sweetness about them that had me feeling all the feels.

This series I just know is going to be EPIC!. All the new faces and some OLD!. lord I am so excited to see where Lani takes it because it feels like there is endless possibilities.
The grief took me hard on the one because for most it's relatable but after loosing my dad it is especially so. But it was wrote perfectly truly embodying those turbulent emotions.
I also teach aerial classes so silks are something I know well which was fun for me to read about!!

As a whole I freaking loved Simi and Coffeey and how their relationship played out. I died laughing at all the banter and bickering between Simi and her sisters. As well as her poor brother who's smothered in women. I really loved Coffeey and the relationship he had with his guys and also just how they welcomed Simi into the fold. PLUS BANNER!!!!!
There was a lot of laughter, a few oh shit moments.. a real unexpected twist at the end and a whole lot of love and dysfunction along the way. I'm super intrigued for the future and can't wait Val and Felix!!!.

When Simi decided to crash the funeral happening in the small town the Singh Circus was stopped in, she had no idea just how much it would change her life.

For Simi, a funeral is a way to watch people without interacting with them. It’s also a way to remind herself that things could always be worse. For Coffey, it’s a way to say goodbye to his father, support his sister, and avoid his mother and ex-wife as much as possible. To say he wants to know who the intriguing woman was at the funeral is an understatement. And, the more he finds out, the more he wants to know. And, when his father leaves him a message from beyond to give him the kick he needs, he finds himself joining the circus as the cook and seeing just how far things can go between him and Simi.

But, everything isn’t what it seems. There is more to Coffey than Simi realizes. They both have baggage. And, there’s been a murder where a vindictive and incompetent sheriff is in charge of the scene. What else could possibly go wrong . . .

Only Lani Lynn Vale could set an entire series in a circus! I was so excited for this book, and it did not disappoint, making me even more excited for the rest of the series! The unexpected twists and turns in this book were seriously epic! Honestly, it definitely makes you rethink ever walking through a fun house again! The heat between Simi and Coffey was scorching hot. Their relationship is a whirlwind, but they seem to fit amazingly well together, especially when times get extremely tough. Circus life is a hoot with all of the personalities of Simi’s sisters and her ring master brother, not to mention the rest of the circus family. And, we even see some unexpected faces from older books, which has me thinking about what LLV may have up her sleeve for the future . . .

Fun House was a thrill from start to finish and will have readers experiencing the thrills of the circus in ways they never expected as Simi and Coffey fight for their happy ever after. 5 stars and a bear claw!

Simi Singh is part of the famous Singh Circus that consists of six sisters and one brother. I feel a little sorry for Keane being around all that estrogen all the time but thought he handled it well. Simi likes to crash funeral (weddings too) which is a bit weird but also where she meets Coffey.

On one of the worst days of his life Coffey meets the woman who will change his life. He is at a crossroads of a sorts and Simi along with the circus helps him find where he belongs. Coffey and Simi could not have been more perfect for one another! From the moment he gets to where she is he protects her without thought or question. He’s at the circus to see where this thing with Simi will go as well as to be the new cook for the family and crew.

Simi finds herself in trouble and I will say at first I was a little dumbfounded by why she singled out. However, that is something that gets cleared up as the story progresses. The family of course rally around her and Folsom plows her way as she tends to do.

I loved that we got to see Banner in this one. I mean I adore all of the Surplocks, regardless of which set of parents they are from. We also met Coffey’s former Navy Seal team and I have to wonder if any of the guys will make future appearances in this series. Not to mention Titus and Slone make an appearance. I would have loved to get more interaction with little Izta though but hopefully there will be more of her in the future books as well.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was originally posted on Storied Conversation

So this book is the first of the Welcome to the Circus Series which follows the Signh family. There’s six girls and one guy and basically their father had each of them with a different woman so even though they are siblings they all look very very different. This first book followed Kissimmee or Simi and Coffey. Simi is one of the Ariel performers on the silks while Coffey is a chef. They met when Simi crashed Coffey’s dad’s funeral. They instantly hit it off and then they slept together before Simi and the circus had to leave to their next stop. Coffey decides to follow her and joins the circus as a chef 2 months later.

Ok now that we have some background I’ll now say what I thought. This series sounded really good and this book had so so so much potential but for some reason it fell flat for me. Like there was a whole bunch of suspence with her not only getting in a car accident but also almost being murdered but even through all that I still felt bored. I think it was because the main characters didn’t really have any personality they were both just super duper bland. If they had more personality I think this book would have been better.

It’s not like I thought the book was bad like it was pretty good, we got a hot and protective MMC and a sweet FMC but there was just something missing.

Overall this book was good but there was nothing special about it that made me want to keep reading, I’m excited for the next book though

So when I first read of this family in the last series of LLV in Folsom's book I had hoped they would get there on series and I'm so happy and excited that they are!!! And we are starting with Simi which isn't where I thought but I'm excited just to start with anywhere!! And she has this bizarre need i guess you could call it to crash funerals (they mention weddings also) but in this book she crashes a funeral and there she catches the attention of Coffey. Which by happening or fate they accept end up at the same bar later that night and end up talking. Well let's just say that fate and lust and the need to be around each other continues to bring them together. And they have such a whirlwind of romance, mystery, quirky funny and crazy stuff and characters around them that this makes for one interesting and fantastic book!!! I absolutely adore all of these siblings and can't wait for each of their stories to be told!! And I can't wait to continue to meet other characters that come into play in this crazy circus world that LLV is taking us into!! I mean who has never dreamed of running away and joining the circus??!! And then Coffey's friends that we met in this book?? I'm secretly hoping that either some get with the sisters or they also get a series!! But I am so excited for this series and so far it's starting out so so strong!! I highly highly recommend!!

I mean who has never dreamed of running away and joining the circus??!! And then Coffey's friends that we met in this book?? I'm secretly hoping that either some get with the sisters or they also get a series!! But I am so excited for this series and so far it's starting out so so strong!! I highly highly recommend!! ~By Tina

I don't know about you, but when Lani puts out a new series, I get the nervous stomach. I even put off reading and read it super slow because I'm so nervous. It's mainly because I don't know what to expect and my weird brain isn't good with unexpected things. So, before you get offended by this review, I want to say that Lani has NEVER disappointed me when it comes to a new series. It is really just my own anxiety riddled brain worried about NOTHING. With that said, it's time for my review! (Said in a Ringmaster voice)
Simi and Coffey BRING THE HEAT. First off, I love that Simi is a woman who is independent and moves to the beat of her own drum. Second off, I love that Coffey is the typical mysterious alpha male with a military past, but is really a big softy. They mesh together really well. My favorite early scene with Simi is her going the funeral. My second favorite is when she smashes the bottle in the bar and gets all "angry."
Coffey is awesome and I laughed out loud when he went to Subway to order a sandwich and tell his ex-wife to kiss it. I did not see the twist of the Sherriff coming, but I did love how it all made sense in the end.
I'm really looking forward to the other books in this series. I 100% believe you will enjoy this book. It was well written and the story line flowed.

Loved this one it was fun and flirty and it was a story that had you smiling and laughing out loud the entire story. This is what we call one of those feel-good books that gives you that happy feeling while reading it.

Simi was one of those characters that have a sparking personality she is always upbeat and smiling and laughing and even in what seem to be dire circumstances she has a sense of humor and can make you laugh. She is the type of person who lifts you up just by being in her presence. We loved Coffey too we found him to be a laid-back kind of guy with a sense of humor and a killer smile but, don't let that fool you he is so much more and dangerous. Loved Coffey and Simi as a couple they were perfect for one another and had amazing chemistry two peas in a pod really they fit so well together and made each other laugh.

The story had a mystery that needed solving, crooked cops surprises popping up all over, and a twist of fate. The story was also filled with so many amazing characters and we already love Simi's family as their the bomb! Loved that Folsom and her hubby made an appearance as we can't get enough of Folsom. We loved it and didn't want the story to end but, all things must come to an end and the ending for this couple was just perfect for them. Loving this series so far and can't wait for the next release.

This Fun House is just that. The Singh Family Circus travels around the states bringing joy and good food to the communities. Kissimmee Singh seems to be one of the normal ones out of her siblings though that is debatable. She is sweet, loveable, funny, and I loved the banter she has with her siblings. Something unique she attends strangers' funerals because it brings her a sort of peace. When she attends a funeral where she catches the eye of a handsome stranger, her tummy is about to do summersaults. Coffey and his sister are doing one of the hardest things in his life. He has not had it super easy, but he has tried to live his life. When he sees a stranger that catches his eye, he must see what she is about. One night is all it takes for these two to have a bond. But sometimes life will get in the way. And when something tragic happens at the circus, Simi's family will have to fight, and the unlikely Coffey is there as well. What happens though when things don't go as planned? Find out.

I never knew I needed a carnival series romance! I loved every second of this book that works to set the tone for the next series by LLV. We meet the Singh family, who have a circus that is quite popular. Our heroine in this book is Simi (every sibling's name is amazingly unique), who is one of my favorite heroines. She jumps to the beat of her drum and is OK not blending in with the world. We see this right away as she attends a funeral in the town the circus is in.

This leads her to Coffey (with a name like that, you know he is going to be delicious), who has recently lost his dad and starts to question exactly where he wants to go with his life in the future. He has a reasonable military career and recently became a chef. There happens to be an opening in the circus. Kismet happens, and we follow another incredible LLV story that brings drama, hilarious moments, and many great times. This is one series that I will be adding physical copies to my bookshelves with such a unique romance flavor and setting.
