Seventy shades of messed up.

That was what she’d been told about herself for nearly her entire life.

From a young age, she knew what it was like to be hated. To be loathed so much by a person that they literally resented the air you breathed.

For her entire childhood, she fought to live, despite her father’s constant effort to make her life a living hell.
Her sisters and brother have no clue what kind of closet psychopath their father really was, and she’ll die before she ruins their picture-perfect view of him.

Why? Because she’s already broken. There’s no fixing this kind of damaged. But there’s no reason everyone else needs to suffer, too.

***

From the moment Hannibal Peters laid eyes on Hades Singh, he knew she was the one.
That was why he ran.

That was why, when he saw her suffering, he couldn’t stay away.

I had no clue how Lani Lynn Vale would redeem Hades Singh in my eyes, but after reading this book, I realized that I should never have doubted this author.

I absolutely freaking loved Hades!!

I actually like her more than I like her twin, Caristonia.
Go figure.

Hades was seriously misunderstood and the first person to see her, to really see her, was Hannibal. He understood her in a way that she didn't even know she craved. He filled all of her empty places and this author captured their relationship so perfectly.

There's a stalker after her sister and Hades is determined to catch him and stop him... with Hannibal's help. He's a veteran with his own security company so who better to have on her side? With their instantaneous connection and insane chemistry leading the way, it was no wonder that these two quickly realized how nicely they fit each other.

Her family was a bit oblivious, but I'm glad that Hades worked with them so that they could all be in a better place. I'm a huge fan of this family and the side characters introduced and can't wait to continue this series.

After the last book I didn’t think there would be anyway that I could ever like Hades Pearl Singh boy was I wrong.

His friend was ex-military and owned a business that specialized in security. The friend was a man named Hannibal that I was fairly sure was God’s gift to the universe.

This story was heartbreaking and and amazing all in one. She could not have come up with a more perfect man for Hades. The most protective hero she’s ever written.

Hannibal Allan Peters was patient and loving just what she needed to be her other half.

“We’ll be a match made in wherever we want it.

You definitely do not want to miss out on this book.

I really enjoyed reading Show Off by Lani Lynn Vale. The book is a contemporary romance novel that tells the story of a forbidden romance between the main characters. The author did an excellent job of developing the characters, and I found myself rooting for them throughout the book. The storyline was engaging and kept me interested from beginning to end. The descriptive scenes were steamy and well-written, and the dual first-person POV helped me connect with both characters.

The author's writing style is impressive, and I look forward to reading more of her work. The only reason I didn't give this book 5 stars is that I felt the ending was a bit rushed. I would have liked to see more closure for the characters and their relationship. However, this did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the book.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Show Off to fans of contemporary romance and forbidden romance tropes. The book is well-written, engaging, and steamy. If you're looking for a book that will keep you entertained and invested in the characters, Show Off is definitely worth a read.

Hannibal Peters is a security specialist who runs his own company. When Hades’ brother calls him for help with Caristonia’s stalker situation, he meets Hades and can’t seem to get her out of his head. When Hades turns up, unexpectedly, he doesn’t know what to think.

I loved how protective Hannibal was of Hades. They both have extreme personalities but the two of them fit together perfectly. Hades’ character makes you believe one thing until you really get to know her. She’s complex but still feisty and fights for what she wants. He's possessive and she doesn't mind at all.

"I would soak in every single second with her, and bind her to me slowly and methodically, until she couldn't ever see her life without me in it. And then, I'd marry her."

Poor Hades! Honestly in the last book she wasn’t my favorite person but after reading even just the prologue to Show Off, my heart cracked right open for her. The things she went though……. It totally makes sense she was the way she was. Hannibal was her perfect match and I loved that for her, and for him! The plat of the story was a perfect pace, kept me on the edge of my seat and I even had tears a few times. I wonder where the stories for the rest of the siblings will go, but I can’t wait! 5 stars #2OCCJD

Hades and Hannibal easily slot themselves into my top 5 point blank period, of all of Lani's stories.

Hannibal is everything and then some. He's strong, loyal and determined. He doesn't beat around the bush or act oblivious. He took what he wanted and kept it. He understood her prickly, nurtured her broken, build her safely net and always stood for her. This man is a damn Saint.

Hades oh my sweet girl. I can't. I cannot get into her because she broke me with her story. What I will say is that she deserved someone just for her. She also took Hannibal for what he was and it was everything.

Two perfectly broken people who's jagged shattered parts fit together like the most beautiful of stain glass windows. Honestly they gave me life. The complete acceptance. The genuine want to know one another and that gut deep love that was instant love. The knowing that they were it. The fight they fought for one another. The banter. The quirks.. everything about them made my soul happy.
Oh and the tension.. delicious.

This one is definitely thought provoking and makes you question everyone else. I'm curious to see how the Keene actually feels in his story with regards to what he learnt in this one. I feel some changes on the horizon for sure. Now I'm even more pumped for the next story!.

To end this... what a story. Lani went above and beyond to make this so much more that I thought it would be. Phenomenal. The best yet!.

I was hesitant to start this book because .... Hades. I didn't like her in Caristonia's book and me and nasty heroines don't get along.

Anyhoo, I read this in one sitting. I absolutely love where the author took her story and also gave her the perfect hero. The story was focussed on the characters so no miscommunication and no ex drama. That said, I didn't like that the whole stalker story was tied it so quickly with no real explanation - his end was too convenient and after him being a large part of both this book and the previous one it needed more fleshing out.

4.5 stars, would've been 5 if not for the stalker gloss over

RECEIVED THIS FREE ARC FOR AN HONEST REVIEW! Hannibal & Hades: TRIGGERS: child abuse, child molestation, stalking, child abandonment. There's always two sides to a story and this book tells the side of Hades Singh. Hades is the other half of the twin sisters. But to understand everything that happened in "Freak Show" and Ari's story, you must read "Show Off". This book explains why Hades is the way she is with her siblings and gives her a chance at her own life. I think this book was really necessary because I really did not like her character at the end of Ari's book but reading this book you get to see inside her head and take a look at her back story to see where it all started. It's a hard story to swallow which is why I absolutely loved Hannibal for her. He knew what he wanted, knew she needed saving and set out to be what she needed. It's always a process with LLV books and we know there will always be some rhyme or reason to why she makes certain choices. I did like this book, though not as much as the previous books but it was still very good. I can't wait until the next book.

And this is the other side of the coin

In book two we saw everything from Tony/Ari's point of view, which made you kinda hate Hades. But here we get Hades story, every heart wrenching, gut stabbing, devastatingly hideous detail of it and it actually makes you question just how the rest of the Singh siblings could be so blind.
Fortunately Hannibal see's her, from the first photo to the first meeting, he sees past the psycho, damaged front to the broken and lost woman beneath. But just as he sees her, she also sees him, they understand each other in a way that nobody else does and that understanding and acceptance allows them to begin to heal, to become stronger.

Just finished Hades and Hannibal’s story and it was soooo good❣️ I have to admit going in, I wasn’t sure about who Hades was or how her story would pan out but it was unexpectedly different from her siblings, in a good way🙃

Really enjoyed it and I can’t wait to see whose story comes next. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

Listen, I'm gonna be honest. I straight up disliked Hades after the last book. She was just a horrible person and awful sister. There was a nugget of information dropped at the end of that book that Hades might be redeemed. I was hella skep.

Hannibal was a wonderful hero. Honestly, I was struggling because I felt Hades wasn't good enough. But, there is more to Hades than we (or her family) saw and SLOWLY I started to thaw. Hannibal and his friends just accept Hades and support her. It was really interesting. I loved how supportive Hannibal was. He didn't judge her (like I did) and their relationship was easy. It wasn't what I was expecting, but it was a good balance for the heavy that is Hades.

The story has a lot of suspense too! Hades is determined to figure out who is stalking her sister and Hannibal is going to help her. Overall, Show Off was just a delightful surprise that reminds me, things aren't always what they seem.

From a child's perspective the circus is seen as a place of joy and wonder. But in the hands of Ms. Vale the circus world becomes a dark and emotionally painful place, particularly for a young woman whose family is entrenched in this world. It becomes a place of long-held secrets with Ms. Vale reintroducing readers to Hades Singh, sharing her heartbreaking history and giving greater insight into what makes her truly tick. The previous book showed her to be a prickly, angry, and hurtful person that made her difficult to like but here she redeems herself in reader's eyes, showing where that pain comes from in a story that brought tears to my eyes at times.

Hades' truth is revealed in this book and it had me completely sympathetic towards her, feeling her pain right alongside her, and rooting for her to find even a little bit of happiness after all the pain of her childhood. She finds more than just a bit of happiness though with Hannibal Allan Peters, an ex-military man who owns a security agency and who agrees to help Hades find her sister's stalker. From the moment they meet, Hannibal shows himself to be just the kind of man Hades needs, the man to fix all of her broken pieces to fit into her life perfectly. Hannibal has some pain of his own but from the start it becomes all about Hades for him, becoming her unconditional savior in a romantic journey that was sweet and sensual with a pace that pulled me in completely. Ms. Vale depicted Hades' struggles with a deep understanding that made me feel an even deeper connection to her. It made me appreciate Hannibal's unwavering support as she was finally able to give voice and be seen after a lifetime of hiding her true self behind the pain. Hannibal and Hades were pure perfection in another unforgettable tale from an author who knows just what readers want...though they might not always know it! And with all the truths revealed here, the future of this series promises to be rocky with more romance and tears on the horizon!

I have come to find that the Singh family doesn't always treat one another very nicely. They all have issues on some level. Although in the previous book Hades' issues seemed unnatural. Now with this book we find out all sorts of things about her including what made her the way she is. I must say that after this book I am really glad their father is dead because he was a horrid man. The way he treated his children, especially Hades, was enough for me to wish him dead. I hated the way the family treated Hades and felt like they should have tried harder but on another level I can understand it.

Hannibal was pretty awesome and I loved his feelings towards Hades. From the get go he knew she was his one, he just was trying to do right by his friend. Not to mention the age difference. However, when she came to him needing his help he was the first person in her entire life to give it to her without question. He is the one person who simply cares.

This book redeemed Hades in a big way and made me see her in a new light. Although I will admit that I am a little nervous about the next few books because this family is dysfunctional in a big way. I can only imagine how it is going to be for the rest of the siblings.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was originally posted on Storied Conversation

Love loved this book

This was such an amazingly sweet book. The previous book left us not liking Hades, the MC of this book. But given that this book has 79% five stars on Amazon, I had a feeling I’ll like it also and the author will do a good job redeeming Hades in our eyes. And she did. I understood where Hades was coming from with the insight into her childhood and by the end of chapter 1 she was my favorite of the Singh sisters.

I absolutely love Hannibal and Hades as a couple. It was cool how they were both attracted to each other from the first sighting. I love how straightforward Hades is while she shared her thoughts and reasoning with Hannibal and his family. Too bad she was too nervous to be forthcoming with her own family. One of my favorite line in the book (there were a few) was where they decided upon their first official meeting that they would give each other everything about themselves and they decide whether they hold pursue something with each other. It was very revealing and a great way for me to get to know the MC’s and fall in love with them early in the book.

No angst even though I felt sad and sorrow for the young Hades.
The plot was good also even with the usual slight inconsistencies in an LLV book. They were slight enough that it was easy for me to notice it and then ignore. I found myself thinking about this book often (the plot and the MC’s) whenever I had things to do and had to take a break from reading this.

Can absolutely see me reading this again and I highly recommend this book!

Holy emotional roller coaster batman! Hades and Hannibal! Whew ladies be prepared for some highs and lows with this one. It's been a long long while since I had a good ugly cry while reading. To me, that is what makes a book excellent. I want to feel ALL of the emotions of the characters. I want to be in that story. Lani hit it out of the ballpark with this one.
Hades, my girl, my heartbreaks for you. The fact that NONE of your siblings saw your struggles and allowed you to continue to play the "crazy girl" just hits my heart so hard. I've worked with a lot of children with trauma, and yours takes the cake. Lani really spent time developing her character and personality. You end her sisters book HATING her, but within the first few chapters of her love story, you are TEAM HADES! Well done Lani!
Hannibal, sir you are the ultimate mate for Hades! You see her, even when you shouldn't, but that means the world to someone who has experienced extensive childhood trauma. Lani did a fabulous job with his personality. I love how he validates Hades and continues to tell her he sees her and only her. This match was written in the stars. I really enjoyed getting to know Hancocks brother and seeing Hancock and Sway make an appearance in this book.
Again, well written, smooth, and hits all the FEELS!

Omg I think my heart is permanently broken from this book. TBH I was thinking about skipping over this book because I didn’t think there would be anything that could redeem Hades after reading the last book, but omg was I wrong. Just reading how she was treated her whole life and seeing the love she has for her family was gut wrenching. I can’t even imagine going through some of the things she went through. I mean she had been working with the circus and never got paid, she was beaten and abused by her ‘dad’ and no one ever noticed. But despite all of that she still loved her family, she even left to discover her sisters stalker.

I just want to say that Hannibal and Hades were perfect for each other, they’re both really clingy so they don’t care if the other is being annoying or in their face and love each other wholeheartedly. I could tell that from the very beginning Hannibal cared for Hades but seeing that grow into the purest love was so beautiful. He really cared about her and always wanted her to put herself first even at the sake of himself.

I would’ve liked more of a reaction on her family’s part because I felt like I needed to know their reactions to everything, but I bet I’ll get a little bit of that in the next book.

Overall this book was equal parts sad and good

Hades’ anticipated story! One thing I truly love about LLV’s books is how she makes things appear a certain way in one book, and then in another show how assumptions can spiral things, and Hades’ story is a prime example of this. Hades has always been truly hated by her father, and it seemed that over the years her siblings never realized or acknowledged the treatment. In addition to this, they tend to treat her differently because of her “obsession” with her twin. But when Hades realizes her siblings have gone too far and they really don’t understand her, she leaves, determined to find out who is stalking her sister, with the help of her brother’s friend that she has a crush on – Hannibal. Hannibal has his own set of quirks due to his past and time in the military, and we find that he throws them all out of the window somehow when it comes to Hades. This story was absolutely amazing, had me on the edge of my seat, and really put me through a range of emotions and rooting for Hades and her HEA that she so badly deserves. I can’t wait for the next installment!

This is the third installment to the Welcome to the Circus series. I was fully expecting to hate this book because it was Hades’ book but dang, I think it was my favorite of the series so far.

If you follow the series, we were painted a different Hades than you get in this book. What we knew about her was that she was a horrible sister and person. She needs help and you half expect that she was her sister’s stalker.

It was quite amazing to meet the true Hades and the torture she endured growing up with her father and his circus. The circus seems to be this tight knit family but it holds many lies and truths. What a fascinating read!!

Let’s not forget the knight in shining armor, Hannibal. He not only took Hades under his wing but allowed her to be a pushy and needy as she needed to be. Help comes in many ways and he was her guardian angel all along that she’s been waiting for.

I loved every second of this book!! It proves that you shouldn’t rely on what other people think or say about someone, once you get to know their true story they may be someone totally different than they are painted by someone else.

Han & Hades

Omfg was I excited to read about Hannibal Peters! He’s been on my radar for so long, and I squealed liked a little girl when I realized Lani was FREAKING FINALLY going to let him have his say. Now that’s done…

Hades, precious girl. Before her book, I didn’t like her, at all. Like her family, I didn’t try to look beneath, but bless her sweet soul. She’s the best of the Singh’s and deserved her HEA with Hannibal more than I ever imagined.

I loved this story from the start. I loved the healing journey Hades had, and how patient Hannibal is with her. She’s so much stronger than she realized, and thankfully Han was there to help her along. Her family did a doozy on her, but I think they all have their share of trauma, so none of them thought to look deeper. Though, I was very glad she finally had someone in HER corner.

This is hands down my most favorite in a long time, and I can’t imagine the remainder of the series topping this one for me. Thankfully the drama was minimal, but I absolutely LOVED Hades and Hannibal being the focal point from beginning to end. Could not recommend this one more. 10/10!

This current tale with Hannibal & Hades has become my favorite couple in this series. Having gotten to know Hades in previous books there is more to the woman than meets the eye and also more complicated than we have seen in previous books. Our hearts broke for Hades her story was devasting to hear and it amazes me that with all those siblings no one saw what was beyond the surface, especially her twin.

Hannibal & Hade were a match made in heaven for each other. They had amazing chemistry and were explosive together in and out of bed. Loved how kind and gentle Hannible was a man who always had Hades's back from the moment they met.

Love the connection between this couple and the easiness of it. Hannible family welcomed Hades with open arms and well as Hannibal's friends and colleagues were her fierce protectors & defenders.

The story was filled with mystery suspense love and laughter and amazing friendships. The story unpacked a lot of sadness and pain when it came to Hade's life but through it all, she found healing and love and found her happy ever after.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first.
Fun House (Welcome to the Circus #1)
Freak Show (Welcome to the Circus, #2)

This is Hades and Hanibal’s story. You might remember Hanibal from the There's No Crying in Baseball Series as he was a side character. Hades was always treated differently from her family, mostly by Ansel. But they really never picked up on how bad it was. When Ansel died she thought it was over but that was just the beginning. She loves her family but knows that they have issues her sister has a stalker that she is going to have to take care of but she needs a little help. That help comes in the form of Hanibal. He is a expert on dealing with security. She knows who the stalker is she just has to prove it. When all the secrets come out will she lose everything? He family and Hanibal mean everything will she have anything left?

I highly recommend this book.

A book that I didn't think I would like but ultimately I read with pleasure

I SWEARED that I wouldn't read this book because Hades had irritated me so much in the previous book but as I read the next book, I became curious and I must admit that having Hades' point of view has everything changed and I LOVED her with Hannibal !
And the whole story with the stalker but also her whole horrible childhood and her father's secrets ...

In short, a romance to devour without moderation !

From what we have seen from Hades in the previous books in this series she appears callous and distant from her family, but the truth is very different. Learning about her past and what she has been through shows us how big her heart is and how she will do anything for those she cares about. She is determined to uncover the truth and protect her twin but first she needs to convince Hannibal to help her.

Hannibal is a friend of Hades' brother who after leaving the military created a security business. He may have been warned away from Hades but the feelings he has for Hades are both uncomfortable and undeniable. The more he learns about her and her past the more he is determined to show her how strong she is and how he will always be there for her.

The characters are captivating, and it was great for Hades to finally have the love, acceptance and support she has always been worthy of.

This is the 3rd book in this series and after reading the previous book I was eagerly awaiting this one as I had a feeling that there was more to Hade's then meets the eye and my opinion of her would change. And boy did it change. I honestly became quite ragey towards her family! Her story honestly broke my heart and made me shed some tears.

Hannibal was the best person for Hade's. He saw past the façade and saw the real her. He was the first person ever to put her first!

I am so loving this series. Each book makes you love each Singh sibling more, although i am still holding on to some rage on Hade's behalf, and I cannot wait to read Keane's story as I think that will be a good one.

Packing with humour, red hot chemistry, redemption, love, healing and so many emotions mixed in with the suspense of who the stalker is this is one hell of a page turned that you wont want to put down.

I was gifted a copy of this book by the Author and this is my honest opinion
