A royal prince exiled from his country long ago, Theo St. George forged a new life in London's dark and seedy underworld. As a coldhearted mercenary, he's willing to do anything for a price. But when he accepts a position as bodyguard to a duke in danger, he finds his true opponent in the nobleman's prim and icy sister.
Pamela, Lady Deering, has been forced to accept her brother's generosity after the death of her wastrel husband. One of society's irreproachable pillars, the last thing she needs is to dally with a sinfully handsome bodyguard called Beast. Neither her battered heart nor her good reputation can survive yet another rogue. So why can't she resist him?
Living beneath the same roof, Theo and Pamela are destined to clash. And kiss. And clash some more. But surrendering to their fiery passion has greater consequences than either of them realize. Because when desire turns to love, two hearts and a kingdom are at risk.
Heat level: Scorching hot! Don't say you weren't warned.
USA TODAY bestselling author Scarlett Scott writes steamy Victorian and Regency historical romances with strong, intelligent heroines and sexy alpha heroes. She lives in Pennsylvania and Maryland with her Canadian husband, their adorable identical twins, a demanding diva dog, and one zany cat.
I have to start off by saying that I usually avoid books with the 'widow trope' as I don't enjoy when either of the main characters are left pining for their previous spouse. This is one of the reasons why I dnf'd this book as the heroine is still mourning the loss of her ex. However, even more confusing was how quickly the two MCs got together despite the heroine's hung-up feelings for her ex. There was no buildup to their physical relationship, no sexy hate-to-love-you tension. It went from 0 to 100 in 0.15 seconds, and I just didn't get it. I didn't particularly like the hero either as he seemed holier-than-thou and not sexy or brooding. Not for me for multiple reasons.
Scarlett Scott is one of my all time favorite authors. I admit I have quite a few favorites but I've already hundreds and hundreds of different authors and thousands and thousands of books so having 30 or so favorites isn't much :). But Scarlett is definitely at the top. This is my 63rd book by her. I know, a lot, right!
I loved reading Pamela and Theo’s story. I love characters like Theo. I loved their personalities, their love for each other, just an overall great read. I don't say too much in my reviews because I don't like to give anything away. Hell, I don't even read the synopsis so I have no idea what the story is even about before I read. I surely don't want to give anything away in my reviews. Just know if I've read 63 of Scarlett's books and say this is a great read, you can take my word for it. :)
3.5 stars! Her Dangerous Beast is book 2 in Scarlett Scott’s Rogue Guild series. This one takes place at the same time as events in book 1, we do get some different POV scenes but the first 90% of the book is the same time frame as book1 events. So reading them back to back wasn’t as fun, just because a lot of the overlapping scenes and convos I’d just seen play out in the first book.
Theo is the hired bodyguard for the Duke of Ridgely (the hero of book 1), after he gets some attacks and threats on his life. Theo goes by “Beast”, but he’s really a royal in hiding! He’s heir to the kingdom of Boritania (a fictional kingdom) but went on the run after family drama and attacks. One night while patrolling the halls of the Duke’s estate, he runs into the Duke’s widowed sister Pamela who also lives there. Pamela and Theo are super pulled to one another right away and become secret lovers. Pamela has been a widow for 4 years and finds the gruff, mysterious bodyguard enticingly too tempting.
“All she did know was that he was kissing her as she hadn’t been kissed in years. Making her feel things she had no right to feel as a proper, respectable widow alone in the darkness with a man she’d only just met in passing earlier that afternoon.”
I thought this one was good, but not my favorite. I enjoyed the couple of book 1 so much and this couple felt a little too insta-lovey for me. That said, I always enjoy reading books from this author and can’t wait for the next book in the series after meeting the couple in this one.

One of society’s irreproachable pillars, the last thing she needs is to dally with a sinfully handsome bodyguard called Beast. Living beneath the same roof, Theo and Pamela are destined to clash. The second book in the series & whilst it’s easily read on its own this book takes place over the same timeframe as the first book in the series, also the author's books never ever disappoint. Another wonderful read, characters that leap out of the page at you, suspense & mystery, electric chemistry between Theo & Pamela & secrets. I loved every page. I loved Theo & Pamela & loved their journey to a HEA. Yep did I mention I loved it My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
Wow! Scarlett Scott once again delivers a story that keeps you glued to your seat. Beast, a mercenary guard hired to protect the duke, cannot help but be drawn to his cold as ice sister, Pamela. She may seem proper and rigid, but he immediately sees behind the facade. She has always put everyone else ahead of herself, living to better the lives of those she loves. Their story begins with barbs and heated words and evolved into simply heat. Their connection is strong and their passion is explosive, it’s a wonder they can keep their liaisons a secret. The ever-present question of Beasts past keeps you guessing, and when the truth is reveled it is full of surprises. I was immediately drawn to these two magnetic characters. I enjoy Scott’s writing but this story seemed even more intense than others. I am really enjoying the synchronicity of this series… each story is well setup for the next as they all happen somewhat simultaneously. It leaves you in an endless state of wonder as to how other characters didn’t see what was right under their nose, and at the same time wondering how you didn’t see it yourself. That certainly takes a certain mastery of writing. I can’t wait to see what trouble Archer Tierney will get up to next.
I was eagerly looking forward to this novel from the previews I'd read and was very lucky to get a ARC copy of the book and it was everything I had hoped for. I honestly think it is one of Scarlett Scott s best books as the characters are great and endearing with amazing chemistry. The lead character of Pamela is portrayed with grace, sensitivity and you get a deep insight into her background as well as her motivations in the previous novel. The character of Beast is also layered and full of torn loyalties, beyond just the sexy, brooding hero type. The book is a rewarding, emotional rollercoaster as both of the characters find healing and love in their interactions with each other. It's also extremely steamy and sexy. The only problem is now waiting for the next installment of the series.
I loved everything about Pamela and Theo’s love story. I started it last night and finished it this morning. I liked Pamela and Theo both individually and as a couple. I tend to not care as much for books with royalty or secret identities, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
I received an ARC from the author, and this is my honest review.
This was such a beautiful romantic story! This is Book 2 in The Rogue’s Guild series and ohh how I loved this storyline! An exiled Prince living in England as a mercenary and a beautiful widowed Marchioness find love ❤️ Theo also known as Beast takes a job protecting the Duke and his family. Lady Pamela Deering is the duke’s sister and Lady Virtue is his betrothed. Someone wants to harm them. So in the process of Theo and Pamela meet and are very attracted to each other! They act on their attraction, which is sizzling hot and make beautiful love. But, Pamela wants more with the mysterious and secretive Theo. He loves her too but has to fix his past. This is such a very well written story with two main characters with their own traumas. Action and romance are in this beautiful book! Familiar secondary characters and new characters. This book was such an emotional love story and for me it’s easily a 5 Star book! And what a very lovely and beautiful ending!
The story follows Theo St. George, a former royal prince turned mercenary, who is hired to protect a duke from an unknown threat. But he soon finds himself drawn to the duke’s sister, Pamela, Lady Deering, a respectable widow who wants nothing to do with rogues like him. The chemistry between Theo and Pamela is undeniable, but their romance is fraught with danger, secrets and betrayal. Will they be able to overcome the obstacles in their way and find their happily ever after?
This book is a steamy and suspenseful romance that features a brooding hero and a strong heroine who challenge each other. I loved the witty banter, the emotional depth and the chemistry between this couple. I voluntarily read & reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts & opinions are my own.
This lady can write. I loved the Beast and his lady. She was a great heroine and he a great hero. The scenes between them were full of heat and intimacy. You could feel their desire through the pages. I literally felt their love. Intensely. Thank you once again for a great romance!
Her Dangerous Beast is the second book in Scarlett Scott’s Rogues Guild series and it is I think ultimately a rather sweet story of a love story developing secretly between two supposedly very different people. From the synopsis and bodyguard trope you would think that the book would be much more action oriented but in fact it focusses on the developing love between Theo and Pamela. There is a great emotional depth as they discover each others scars both (physical and emotional) and learn to heal. Pamela has spent the last 4 years grieving for her late husband and never thought to open her heart again. Her intense attraction to Theo frightens her at first but once she realises her feelings for him she is not afraid to admit to them. She shows real maturity when Theo tries to push her away by not accepting it and making Theo acknowledge the bond they have. Theo has been through so much and is understandably very guarded and secretive at first but I loved that they both acted with maturity and Theo actually talked to Pamela before he left. With this being a Scarlett Scott book it is very steamy but what really comes shining through is the emotional connection between Theo and Pamela and their love story. The ending was just perfect.
I was gifted a review copy and am leaving this voluntarily.
Her Dangerous Beast is the second book in Scarlett Scott’s new Rogue’s Guild series! Most of the book takes place during the events of the first. Beast is a mercenary hired to guard Ridgley’s house after the murder attempt. He comes across Ridgley’s sister sketching in bare feet and basically they’re both taken with each other from first meeting. Pamela is the widow Lady Deering who wasn’t left much by her late husband and lives with her brother. She’s prim and proper, living her life the best she can while keeping her feelings of grief inside. It’s been years since her husband’s death and she thinks maybe Beast can be a little bit of joy she takes for herself. What Pamela doesn’t know is that Beast is actually Theo St. James, exiled prince of Boritania. These two are so beautiful together 😭 I didn’t expect Beast to be so sweet and tender, or for Pamela to be so kind and demure beneath all that iciness. This book is so sweet and so HOT! It made me cry and was written so beautifully! Loved it! I’m also ridiculously excited for the next book because I’ve been dying for Archer’s story!!
Her Dangerous Beast is book two of Scarlett Scott’s new Rogue’s Guild series. I absolutely adored book one, Her Ruthless Duke, so I was so really looking forward to the next entry. It did not disappoint! This time around, we are following the story of Ridgely’s sister, Pamela, and Beast (Theo), a deposed prince serving as a bodyguard far from his homeland. We met both characters in book one and got a peek into their interactions. Both had been living as shells of their former beings, but together, they found their way back in a beautiful love story. I really liked the intertwining of Ridgely and Virtue’s story throughout the telling of Pamela and Theo’s love story. It was great to revisit their story from a different perspective. That said, this book is all about Pamela and Theo’s journey, and it’s another fantastic ride. I can’t wait for Archer (and I’ve been waiting impatiently since the last Sutton book). I received this book as an ARC.
Theo, aka Beast, has spent the last 10 years making his way in the world as a mercenary and caring about nothing and nobody. Until he accepts an assignment as a bodyguard for the Duke of Ridgely…….
Pamela, the Duke of Ridgely’s widowed sister, has spent the last four years mourning the loss of her beloved husband and trying to fill the hole in her heart with shopping, attending ton events and chaperoning her brother’s ward. Nothing has worked. Until she meets a beast prowling around her brother’s house…..
An instant attraction that is too hard to resist, but even as their relationship develops they’re both keeping secrets…….
Scarlett has delivered yet again! A superbly written story with mystery, intrigue, angst, extra spicy steam and such emotional depth that I shed a tear or two (ok, maybe a few more than that 😉). And to top it all off, a wonderful HEA.
I loved these two characters so much. They not only melted each other’s hearts but mine too, and I’m sure you’ll feel the same.
The events in this book are mostly concurrent with the events in book 1, Her Ruthless Duke, and Scarlett does an excellent job of entwining these two stories, as well as giving us clues to likely events in book 3, Her Wicked Rogue. Can’t wait for the continuation of this excellent series.
I received a free copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Another book by Scarlett Scott that if I could give it a 10+ star I would.
A secret identity/forbidden romance
Pamela and Theo realize that after just spending time with each other and learning to trust each other and giving into how they feel for each other that they can not only conquer their fears but they both can be happy despite their flaws and all.
This is a story that I will definitely be happily reading again.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series.
I received this book from the author as a gift in exchange for a voluntary review and this is purely based off of my experience and opinion that of no one else.
Whenever you pick up a Scarlett Scott book, you know that you are in for a delicious romance! They never disappoint! Our hero, Theo, is a broken and scarred Prince of a foreign land, exiled to England where he works as a bodyguard. He is hired to protect a Duke and his household. It is there that Theo meets the beautiful widow, Pamela, sister to the Duke. Living under the same roof, the sparks are certain to fly, as their attraction to one another is instant . Try as they might to resist one another, they cannot , as they engage in a secret tryst, knowing that it can never be more, or can it?? Just a delightful story!
Scarlett Scott is one of my favorite author for historical novels. When I got the opportunity to read this ARC, I jumped at the task.
These two protagonists have had troubles and dark times. I enjoyed how these two character fell in love with their strengths and kept boundaries. This is a beautiful lover story filled with wild passion and mystery. The dark tortured Prince, and the strong willed however wounded Lady Deering.
This book is a definite must read, if you’re found of Scarlett Scott and attraction/lust a first sight. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
I loved Pamela and Theo’s story! A very proper widow and a mysterious bad boy — what’s not to love? I loved seeing Pamela and Theo grow closer — the characters, as usual, were so fun and really sucked me in to the story. The story was so great that I read the whole book in one sitting. Plus, I loved the sneak peek we got to Archer’s love story. I can’t wait for the next book!
I received an advance reader copy and am providing my honest review.
Scarlett never fails to deliver on her promise of a delicious, decadent, steamy book. I loved this. Another excellent piece of writing by the author and her characters are very engaging. Totally had me hooked. Can’t wait for more.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
Wow, great job Scarlett Scott! Possibly my latest favorite book by this author. For anyone who adores a series and interwoven characters, this is a must read. I really appreciate the returning characters, as well as the storyline between Pamela and Theo. Definitely something new in regard to trope. Can’t wait for book 3 in the series!
Honestly, this series were not my favorite. It lacks mystery and real gumption from the characters. It’s supposed to be a series full of suspense because of the activities the main characters perform, however, they missed so many basic hints that you question how they survived up to they found their love ones. I do not know if some readers experience the same but for me is disappointing to read the dame sex scenes with diferentes characters to realized that if you extract those from the main story there is nothing else to enjoy.
Her Dangerous Beast. Ok ladies! I have been waiting for a book like this to be passed to my hands for awhile now. Oh my GOD y’all! This book. This book! I am shaking my head and stumping my right foot. I had to bow my head and say thank you to the book gods. This is the kind of book were you will want to hide yourself from other people (mainly your family and especially your kids). You will want to find a room, turn off the lights and grab your book light and not only do those things. You are going to have this need or urgency to hop in your bed, throw the covers over your head and cuddle down for a good read. I’m keeping the fan on me while I write this review. Ok people (pause) I’m going in. You might think that this book focus on the plot about finding the people who are causing harm to Pamela”s brother Ridley. Ohhhh no no no no my friend. Theo known as the Beast. The devilishly handsome guard from Boritanian has consumed this story with his charm. His courage. His grace. His loyalty. His passion and that, Pamela is not ever going to complain about very pleasuring tongue of his. Y’all I’m telling you this man did not disappoint! I also loved reading Theo”s background story. I thought that his unwillingness to show Pamela his whole body was so heart aching. His anguish and rage was very clear in the story. The moments between him and his sister really gives clarity of what he and his family has gone through. I enjoyed everything about the book The writer definitely kept me entertained with so many things. And I mean so many naughty things that I’m still coming down from the high. The story reads so easily for me. The writer tells the story very plainly without those extra flamboyant words. The stories details and description are explained and given with clarity. I was able to visualize how the characters reacted and moved through the book. The dialogue between the characters was clear. I understood what the writer wanted to convey to her readers. The story is believable and comes away as logical during its time period. All the characters were unforgettable. Theo is the main character that I will not forget. Tieriny comes off as mysterious and very secretive. Virtue I thought was innocent and naïve. Ridgley is just a randy Duke. But it was Pamela’s character that stole the show. It was with the way that she moved through the book with her grace and charm. That ever biting need of hers to know what’s going on around her. Her ambitions regarding her drawing. Her willingness to please and her overwhelming desire for Theo. Many of times you would think that it was Theo protecting Pamela, but it would be Pamela protecting Theo. The passion and desire grows and grows through the story with so much burning, sensual desire between Theo and Pamela. For those two it’s like this: when two Atoms clash together with so much electrifying charge it consumed many pages in the book and that is one love scene ladies. Was I granted a reprieve to come up for air while reading? No! Theo’s burning need to show Pamela new ways of making love and Pamela’s ever exciting need of wanting to learn, had me flipping each page so fast, seriously I could have went blind. Am I complying? No. Because Theo and Pamela will not be the only one’s walking around with that silky grin on their face. So like I was saying to you about the flipping pages. I was like, wait a minute. Did I read that right? Let me go back and read that again. At least that was the excuse that I was giving myself for reading that scene again. Hehe. Look you read the book. Share your thoughts. Mine are just too x- rated for this review. I give this book two snaps and a, “Oh Theo make me say your name the way you like it when your down there.” Until next time my fellow readers… read on! I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
* I read an arc of this book thanks to Wildfire Marketing Solutions & the author. *
I had such a fun time. This was also my first HR arc. I regret nothing. I loved every turn this story took. I loved both characters and i loved that there was no third conflict between the couple. The tension between Theo & Pamela was there from the very beginning and that tension just kept building and building until they couldn't help but throw themselves at one another and it was hot. 🫠🥵 The first half of the book was Theo & Pamela developing their relationship while Theo was also protecting the Duke, Pamela's brother, and the rest of the household of danger. The second half was when Theo's past came to bite him in the a$$ and i loved that part. It showed what Theo was made of but also how strong his love and Pamela's was until the end.
Pamela was a bit cold and closed off at first so people, or at least Theo, saw her as an icy queen but she was full of fire inside. She became a widow so she drown her sorrow in shopping and whatnot which might come across as vain but that didn't bother me because of how everything was written. After her beloved husband's dead she closed her heart off to any heartache that might've occur but Theo came crashing into her life and tore her walls apart. She denied their attraction at first because she felt like she was betraying her late husband and that might be frustrating for some and believe me, it can be for me too, but it wasn't. She might have denied their chemistry but there was no escaping Theo and his fire. I liked how balanced Pamela was in regards to her loss and her love for her late husband but also how she could love two people at once. She could love Theo but still have love for her dead husband too and that is okay. I loved how understanding she was but also how she could understand Theo without him uttering a word and understand his state of mind.
Theo was everything! Theo might be a beast to the world but he is a beast full of sorrow, loss and so much love to give. He fought from day 1 his attraction to Pamela but like her, there was no fighting the fire that was building between them. I loved how protective and honest he was. Theo gave everything straight to Pamela either by his prerogative or because she asked him to and he didn't shied away from it. He truly had a heart of gold and he kept every promise he gave. Loved him!
The third act came around and i thought this was going to go like other books but boy was I wrong. Theo told Pamela the truth and that he was going away to save his people and kingdom and she understood his situation and although there was a high risk of him not coming back, she didn't berated him for leaving or asked him to stay. She gave him the courage and belief that he could win the war that was waiting for him. This was what made this book ultimately a 5 star for me.
I loved the whole plot surrounding Prince Theo and his kingdom and honestly i can't wait for the next book which is about his sister who came to find him. His sister is supposed to be in an arranged marriage with another King but she dallied with Archer Tierney, Theo's friend while this whole situation was going on so I'm excited for this next book. I also i'm looking forward to read book 1 in this series which is about Pamela's brother, Duke of Ridgely, and his protegee Virtue. Yes, the name isn't great but i'm here for it. I'll be reading it soon for sure.
As seen on my blog (Jessie's Reading Corner): DISCLAIMER: I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Her Dangerous Beast is the first book I have read by Scarlett Scott and it certainly won’t be my last.
I absolutely loved this story! Theo and Pamela’s love story was so utterly beautiful and I loved how they couldn’t stay away from each other, no matter how hard they tried, and that through their time together they were able to heal from their pasts and learn to love and accept love.
Theo’s backstory is tragic. And I fell hard for him while reading this story! Nothing is shown, but he was tortured before his exile and it’s something no one should have to go through. Because of his past, he’s closed himself off to others but when he meets Pamela, he can’t stay away. She makes him want to live and love again.
Pamela is a widow living with her brother, the duke, and a guardian over their ward, Virtue, she’s content to live out her days as a single woman. Until she starts spending time with Theo and realizing that it might just be okay for her to love another.
The heat level warning in the blurb is no joke. This story is spicy!! I just loved how they couldn’t get enough of each other!
If you love steamy historical romance, bodyguard romance, books where the main characters are royalty, tortured heroes, forbidden romance, and/or suspense you definitely need to read this book!
This is the second book in the Rogue’s Guild series. I believe you can read this book without having to read the first book in the series (I did!), but based on what happens in this book and the blurb for the first book, some of the events may overlap between the two books as it is the Duke’s story. So you’ll definitely want to go back and read the first one after reading this one! (Or before, your preference!) It is available in KU!
Thank you to Wildfire Marketing Solutions and Scarlett Scott for the advance copy!
Starring Pamela, the Marchioness of Deering and the exiled prince, Theodoric Augustus St. George (aka Beast)
Tropes: Widow, Bodyguard, In Disguise, Hidden identity, Scarred Hero, Forced Proximity, Battle of Wills, Second Chance at Love.
Oh man, oh man!! Scarlett Scott definitely turned up the heat with this one. Whoa daddy!! Pamela and Beast… sigh yall!! Their angst… and their passion… and their HEA… oh my!! Such a perfect story that had me ugly crying af!! Scarlett Scott is the reason I don’t wear mascara!!
Beast… aka Theo… mmmm’kay?! Serious hottie alert!! Oh the damaged heroes are always the best because they need the love and embrace of a good woman the most to make them whole again. And the way Theo wore his heart on his sleeve for Pamela… alpha with a little bit of cinnamon roll center… can I get an “amen”?!
Pamela was so serious and snippy in the beginning… she had the walls around her heart in place for so long. But here comes Theo with a chisel. I totally understood why she was protecting her heart tho. I’m glad that Theo brought some happiness back into her life and that she came out of her shell, one kiss at a time. She was a wonderful heroine.
These two, honestly, I love that they couldn’t keep their hands and lips off each other. Whew!! Total hotness and I happily danced in their fiyah!!
The epilogue tie-in was absolutely perfect. I love it when the author gets clever!! I smiled so hard!!
Thank you Scarlett Scott for another entertaining and heartfelt story!! I can’t wait for Tierney’s HEA!!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. I voluntarily review it and the comments are 100% my own.
My star rating: 5 stars Ugly Cry AF achieved!!!! Made me wanna hug the author for giving me a wonderful storyline with lovable characters that made me smile. This book gave me all the feels. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely be re-reading it!!
Her Dangerous Beast is the second installment in the Rogue’s Guild series. Theo St. George and Pamela, Lady Deering, were introduced in the first novel of the series, Her Ruthless Duke. Theo is a mercenary for hire who currently works for Archer Tierney. He’s been assigned to guard Pamela’s brother, Trevor Hunt, the Duke of Ridgley. Pamela is a widow who lives with her brother and is the chaperone for his ward. This story runs somewhat concurrently with the first novel. Both Theo and Pamela are wounded and scarred, both physically and emotionally. Theo barely survived leaving his homeland and has made a new life for himself in England. Pamela lost a husband she loved three years prior to the start of the novel. She comforts herself with shopping and spending her brothers money. Both Theo and Pamela are attracted to each other and it doesn’t take long for them to become physically involved with each other. Things get sexy very quickly! If you’ve read a Scarlett Scott novel before, you know that she is very open door and very descriptive with her writing. I personally find it very realistic but it may be off-putting to those who prefer milder romance. As is also typical of a Scarlett Scott novel, there are some violent scenes. In this particular novel, they are more remote, most happening in the past. I think most people read Historical Romance because they want that ultimate payoff, the Happily Ever After. Theo and Pamela get theirs only after some heartache first. I liked both of these characters because they were flawed. Scarlett’s heroes (and sometimes heroines) tend to be. For me, the more emotion brought into the story, the better.
I was given an advance reader copy to review and these opinions are mine alone. I hope you enjoy reading Her Dangerous Beast as much as I did.
Her Dangerous Beast is the second erotic novel in the Rogue’s Guild series. This romance has sparks flying from the outset. Both the Hero and Heroine are both magnetic characters.
Archer Tierney, Trevor Hunt, and Logan Sutton, are three old friends from disparate heritages, who make up the Rogue’s Guild. They worked together as spies, ferreting out the secrets of traitors and revolutionaries, catching dangerous men on behalf of Whitehall.
Her Ruthless Duke: Trevor & Virtue: 5+ stars Her Dangerous Beast: Theo & Pamela: 5 stars
Theodoric Augustus St. George, the true and rightful King of Boritania, was living as a coldhearted mercenary in England, called Beast. A royal prince exiled from his country years ago, Theo forged a new life in London’s dark and seedy underworld. On assignment protecting the household of a nobleman, Beast meets the nobleman’s prim and icy sister who challenges him body and soul.
Widowed Lady Pamela Deering has had her home invaded. She lives with her brother, Trevor Hunt, the Duke of Ridgely, and because he’s had an assassination attempt on his life, he has hired guards to protect Hunt House and all its occupants. The guards prowl around the house at all hours, and one particular guard named Beast clashes with her.
Theo and Pamela clash from the moment they meet, and it’s steamy. Their banter has lots of barbs and heated words with a side of sexual tension. Sexy times are explosive and always hidden and secretive. Their attraction is quite intense.
I highly recommend this book. Cleverly written, the events in this story are mostly concurrent with the first story.
