ohh this was a major disappointment. I was really looking forward to this installment but unfortunately it was a major let down.
This book serves more as a stepping stone to bringing in two more male characters for the other two girls and to set up Mordox and Zoe's book then anything else, and all this takes places at the end of the book.
Darcy was dead weight through this entire book, she does nothing useful at all. She is actually the cause of all the problems. What makes this even more infuriating is how she spends the first 28% of this book not caring at all about Rooke's condition, dude is literally slowly dying and she shows zero concern for him, until he actually starts to lose consciousness. Then all of sudden she is madly in love with him and begging him to live, even going so far as to bargin sex, which holds zero grounds because he never mentions to her how he wants to have sex with her, just flirts with her throughout the start of the story. Then the rest of the story is just her being so madly in love with him and not wanting to part from him because its too painful and whatever stupid reasons she gives.
Rooke is supposed to be this bad boy space pirate but this is never shown because he is actually a sweet guy who pretends to be a bad boy, this could have been a decent element to the story if the author had played up the fake bad boy vibe but never did so it felt more like the author couldn't figure out what kind of personality he was suppose to have.
There is zero action in this book, it was slow and felt like it dragged on forever, which is a shame because the first book was action packed, fast paced and so entertaining. The end of this was so unsatisfying that it made me angry, to go through the whole book with the "focus" being on one plot line and it never coming to fruition was enraging, it felt like a waste of time.
I'm going to read the 3rd book because it sounds like it will actually have a plot, so hoping its at least decent but I am really upset this wasn't better.

I choose Chosen
Love this author and this series! The human women are varied and intrepid. The male aliens have been imprisoned wrongfully and some other people used for experiments or held longer than geir sentences. The women crash-land on the prison planet and are just trying to survive after escaping slavery.

I loved this book and the main characters had me lol in places as they fight with each other and the attraction thats burning between them as they track her friend Zoe who was taken by Mordox after they battled the beast together. Darcy is one of the human females that escaped and crashland on the planet Zune which is a prison planet thats left the inmates to themselves and some have been released from the shock collars and one of them is Rooke who is sexy as sin and a murder and when he saves her from the beast with the help of Mordox it changes so quickly when Mordox runs off with Zoe as she slips from my hand and straight away I give chase and Rooke comes after me. Now Rooke and I are working together to save Zoe from the mass murder Mordox but along the way Darcy realises that Rooke isn’t the killer he was made out to be as there attraction for each other grows. Rooke is a pirate an inmate on the planet Zune with his crew man after being caught for murder even when it was his life or the other mans and he choose to save himself and his crew. There is so much more to this book that has you drawn to the pages and holding your breath to find out how it all works out. Loved this book.

At the end of the first book our small group of human females and Barbarians were attacked by a lab created beast. At the end Zoe goes missing with taken by a very large barbarian with a scary reputation. Darcy immediately feels responsible for her disappearance and takes off to go find her. Rooke goes after her be a self he knows she won't be able to survive on her own. Darcy is strong capable and filled with an inner fire. Rooke is handsome dangerous and used to getting what he wants. Together they create raging storm that can only be weathered together. As they search for Zoe they become closer and as their relationship strengthens the begin to unravel the mystery of what really going on, on Zune. Can't wait to see what happens next. 🌟🔥💖💖🔥🌟

Ms. Strom strikes again with the second installment in the Primal Moon Barbarians! I'm a huge fan of her Warriors of Valose Sagas and now I'm hooked on her Barbarians too!! I'm simply blown away by every book I've read by this author. Her world building is out of this World!
Darcy is a tough cookie to crack, so to speak, but it doesn't take long for Rooke to win her over. Especially when he sets out to help her find her friend Zoe. While sparks fly and danger lurks around every corner.
Will they be in time to save Zoe, or will the barbarian that stole her vanish into thin air? I highly recommend Chosen by the Barbarian for anyone who loves reading a steamy sci-Fi romance.

I enjoyed this book but I wanted more. I wanted more background for both the characters. I liked how you see quite quickly that Rooke is actually a good guy. Drax acts like a total ass way too often around this guy and in general in my opinion. Honestly, my biggest gripe about this book was that I was all settled in at 80% complete, ready to get another cool battle before the HEA but instead it ends and I get a preview of a different book! What the actual hell?! I want my last 15%. Then give me the preview. Seriously though, this is a good book with an interesting concept that makes you ever more curious about the lab and experiments.

Love this Primal moon series. Darcy is a strong willed woman. She has promised to protect Zoe but all it takes is one second and she is taken from her. These human women are stranded on an alien moon that also was used as a prison. Some of the inmates are still there and not all are bad. Rooke is a pirate and has a reputation. But he would do anything to protect and help Darcy. They will not stop until they find and rescue Zoe. But an alien planet is dangerous. And these two are definitely going to have an adventure. The romance builds and leads to plenty of hotness.

I loved it! Rookie was a smooth talking, alien ladies man but Darcy had his number! When the two go off tracking their kidnapped friend it takes all kinds of innuendo and sacrifice before Darcy starts to let her walks down. Danger draws the two closer as she finds out you really can’t judge a book by it’s cover. Rookie has hidden depths that not many know about and Darcy is the woman to unwrap those layers.

So far this series is set on a moon broken from some cosmic disaster that someone has put a prison on 😲. Along come some human females who crash land escaping from slavery 😉. Great action, intense situations, scary monsters, a few sexy moments with the males who thought they were prisoners, but were being used for experimentation 😝. Thanks again Iona, I can't wait to read the next in this series 🤓.

I love the Primal Moon series! Chosen By The Barbarian is an awesome Sci-fi romance! Darcy is a strong woman and she was going to protect her friend Zoe after she was captured. Rooke was going to protect her with everything he has. It’s quite an adventure as they go to rescue Zoe. The ending left me excited to read the next book in the series to find out what happens next!

The main thing holding these books back, is that the period of time in which the characters are getting to know each other, is boring. We really don't get depth into the characters and there's no growth. The writing is good, the world good, and the action is good. Always, just as it picks up, it's over.

Very interesting. Aliens who are supposed to be bad, finally realise that they are not all bad. Just some that have been put on a prison planet to keep them quite and to be used for experiments. Was very surprised by the ending, not what was or is expected.

This series was interesting bcuz the mmc's aren't the average alien just living their lives. They're "convicts" trapped on this prison type planet with insane, dangerous rules and creatures.
I like the secrets and slight twists and turns that happened and it didn't take away from the "love story" aspect. A quick easy read.

Exciting
Rooke and Darcy's story is full of action and adventure. I love this series and the mysterious arc of what the neck is going on!? I was a bit surprised at the abrupt ending but certain the next book will be fabulous.

Pirate of My Heart!
Chosen by the Barbarian is an exciting, action packed, hot read. I enjoyed Rooke and Darcy’s story and very much like Iona Strom’s Primal Moon Barbarians series.
