*spoilers* Maggie has studied and worked hard for her current position doing the social media for the Moonshine Mountain Distillery. Her best friend and one of her bosses Elana is often getting her in mischief and tries to losen up her life. She arranged dates for a fund raising event, which Maggie mainly organized and is very important to her. Bentley, Elana’s brother, is very elusive and living in the mountains rather reclusive, rarely shows his face, but comes to the fund raiser. Ben and Maggie meat and have an instant connection. When Ben realizes that she is the friend and age of his younger sister, he is her boss and has a date, he turns away from Maggie and hurting her. She made him feel and forget something deeply troubling from his past for the first time, that made him react so strongly. Maggie decides to follow an invitation for a virgin auction, cause she can not have the man she wants and wants to get rid of her virginity with 23. Ben learns from his sister that Maggie has asked for a day off and she is acting strange. He digs deeper and learns of the auction. He can not stay away.
I still love Hope Ford’s writing style and characters, always looking out for the next story. Somehow it took me a while to get into the story and feel with Maggie and Ben. Still a very good and captivating story. Somehow cute and freaky what Ben does, like installing the camera, but not talking with Maggie. But they found their way and fianlly spend time together and Maggie learns what happened to Ben in the past.

Maggie (h) meets Ben (H) when the reclusive mountain man finally shows tup to a company event. The pair find themselves drawn to one another but Ben struggles with past relationship issues and quickly disavows himself of Maggie. She regrets that nothing is going to happen with Ben and decides to sell her virginity in an exclusive auction. Ben can’t stop thinking about Maggie and when he finds out what she plants to do, he makes sure that he’ll be the top bidder. Hot and steamy age gap, mountain man romantic quickie with a bit of relationship angst.

Ben's heart was frozen in his chest years ago and he keeps himself isolated from the world to keep his heart safe and his emotions stable, but Maggie overloads his system as she makes him feel everything....
desire, lust, arousal, connection, jealousy, fear, denial and anger. Touching her calms the storm, connecting with her makes Ben wonder if he can dream once more, if he can open his heart to love again.
Obviously when they meet Ben overreacts and messes up, but he owns this and apologises...in his own unique way.
Maggie is wise enough to see through his bluster and baggage to the amazing, warm, loving, sexy and very possessive man underneath.

sometimes the kindle app makes strange recommendations and i’ll read one of them. i usually regret it, but some of them are so over the top and ridiculous that i enjoy them. this is not that. i’m not even sure what the point was. too much so-called story to be porn without plot, but not enough smut to be porn. it was one of the least interesting and compelling ‘relationship’ stories i’ve ever read. if you’re going to make your hero an obsessed stalker then write that. even smutty novellas can show instead of telling. the story was dumb, the heroine was kinda TSTL. the hero was one dimensional and pointless. the whole novella was a waste. oh well. on to the next. kindle recs, you’re on notice.

Solid 4 Stars
I've read all the books in this series so far. I discovered two new to me authors and have been devouring their books. As well as Hope Ford's books. Which I'd already been doing. She's how I found this series to begin with. The series is by several different authors and all are stand-alone stories. Each is about a different couple. All are short around 100-140 pages. They are all steamy 🔥🔥🔥 reads as well. The common thread is the auction and auction house. Run by the one and only Ms. Coco St. James. I'd love to know her story! Maybe someday they'll write it? The first few books in the series give you a good deal of info about the auction and auction house. You can pick up the series with any book and not be lost though.
This book is the story of Maggie the MFC and Bentley "Ben" the MMC. Maggie works at Moonshine Distillery Company. Run by the family of her best friend Elana. Elana runs the marketing department and Maggie does the social media. Together they do parties and fundraisers. Where the main liquor served is the different kinds of moonshine the company makes. Edward, Elana's oldest brother runs the office part of the business. While Ben deals with the actual stills that make the moonshine. He also gathers knowledge on how the stills are operated, what is the best ingredients, etc. Ben rarely comes into the office. He and Maggie have never met. He lives on the mountain up from town. The stills are up there too. The company was their parents and after their death the children took it over. They do a fundraiser every year in their parents memory. Their mother worked at the children's hospital and the fundraiser is for it. Elana has roped Maggie into going on a date at the fundraiser. Maggie begrudgingly agreed to have a drink with the guy. The night of the fundraiser after making sure everything is running smoothly. Maggie takes a breather. She's outside on the patio. Sitting on the swing in one of the darker parts. The doors open and she's joined by a tall handsome bearded man. She doesn't know. It's Ben. There is an instant attraction between the two. Before long they've kissed and are talking about going home together. Once they both are able. Maggie is a virgin and has never felt this type of attraction before. Ben has been living as a recluse for awhile. He's been dealing with some issues and had closed himself off to the rest of the world. Maggie has opened that damn. Ben is surprised but glad. They head inside together to finish up their individual business and leave hopefully together. Right as they enter they run into Elana. Ben quickly realizes Maggie is Elana's best friend, his employee, and has a date already. He knows there can be nothing between them now. He starts to immediately with draw and makes a quick exit. Maggie goes after him. Wondering what's happened and where that spark went so quickly. She catches him in the parking lot on his way to his truck. They fight and hurtful words are said. As Ben pushes her away. Thinking it's for the best. A few weeks go by. During that time they've both had each other in their minds constantly. Ben is becoming obsessed. Maggie is thinking even though she still feels the attraction. Nothing is going to come of it. She receives an email from Coco St. James auction house. Asking if she'd like to auction her virginity off to the highest bidder. Maggie thinks it'll be the perfect way to get Ben out of her mind. She decides to do it. You'll have to read the book to find out how Ben finds out, and what he does about it. The book does have a HEA for the couple. There's a sweet time jump epilogue to boot!
I have enjoyed the books in this series and liked this one. Though I wasn't blown away by it. There is a good well developed story about the couple and the family. I was easily engrossed into the couples story and liked it. The auction seemed to be an afterthought though. As if it had been written originally without it in mind at all. The whole auction part is less than a chapter long. Not that I expect a book this far along in the series to go into great detail about the auction or auction house. I just felt it almost didn't fit into this story. I still would recommend this book though. The couples story even with the auction being a little off (in my opinion) is worth a read. Read it yourself and you decide.

Fastest read of the series so far — Needs editing
Part of a series comprised of stand-alone stories, written by various authors, linked through an auction where virgins voluntarily place themselves up for bid to millionaires and billionaires. The stories feature humans, shifters, and aliens that coexist within the same series thanks to the ringleader of the auction, Coco St. James.

⛔️ Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to sensitive readers, such as: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges of depression, anxiety, etc.; steamy adult intimate scenes with elements of dominance, submission, etc.; violence with stalking behavior, etc.
For me this has been the fastest read of the series so far. I wanted to give it a higher rating, but it needs some editing before earning that rating. The story universe is surprisingly strong, especially given the length, and I was engaged throughout by the storyline, despite the issues outlined below.
I love the dichotomy between the various stories within the series. For instance, the previous story featured characters with a decidedly darker nature, such as the heroine dressed in black, didn’t smile very much, and an alien hero had shorn hair, tattoos, claws and tusks. This story is about Maggie, a rule-following good girl, and Ben, a man in pain that has shut himself away on a mountain.
I mention the following for readers such as myself that visualize a story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow. There are some grammatical errors (e.g. missing commas and ending quotation marks), incorrect capitalization, typo or incorrect word choice, extra inserted words, and missed words. There are also a couple of data inconsistencies regarding scenarios that didn’t make sense to me, such as Maggie not at least having an idea of Ben’s history, her attendance at the previous year’s fundraiser, call versus text, etc. I uploaded my notes to goodreads for anyone interested.

I liked that Maggie was sweet but no push over, and how Ben, her possessive alpha, had a sensitive, vulnerable side. His past helps to explain some of the questionable things he does, but it was good to see Maggie make him work a little for her forgiveness, too.
As always, Hope Ford melds steam and emotions seamlessly, creating another great novella in the Highest Bidder series.

A combination of mountain man, best friend’s brother, and boss tropes in this steamy romance. Ben and Maggie are fantastic together. At first I wasn’t sure if I was going to like Ben, but then he quickly redeemed himself and made me love him. When Ben rejects her for reasons that eventually come together, she decides to sell her v card and hopes the it helps her be done pining for him. But Ben isn’t ready to let her go. He’s a bit obsessive which I loved and will do anything and spend any amount of money to keep her for himself. I do think a little more groveling would have been nice to read, but that’s a personal opinion. I always enjoy Hope Ford’s books and recommend every single one. This one is added to that list. With characters you grow to love especially when they are together, a hot mountain man who’s obsessed with his woman, sweet and steam, and a very happy ending, it’s one to read for sure.

Hope Ford's third contribution to the multi-author Highest Bidder series is the steamy, best friend's brother / age-gap instalove romance Auctioned to the Mountain Man. Ben has been the reclusive Bennett sibling, showing up in person at his family's Moonlight Mountain Distillery only when required. When he comes down from his mountain cabin for their annual fundraiser, he meets Maggie - the social media manager for the distillery, but also his much-younger little sister's best friend. Ben and Maggie are instantly drawn to one another - until he finds out who she is, and then the baggage he is carrying from his past causes him to screw everything up. But the moment he discovers she plans on auctioning off her virginity, Ben is intent on making sure that only one man is the highest bidder. A super steamy, entertaining, age-gap instalove romance I highly recommend.

The MMC & FMC meet and are instantly connected. He freaks out, is cruel and breaks her heart. She decides to sell her virginity to try to force herself to move on.
The story definitely is a bit sad for a fair chunk of it, but it’s a good story. I felt the story turned great after he panics when he finds out she’s going to auction herself.
He really isn’t a jerk, he just seemed like it and the FMC is super sweet. I liked both characters, they were well-written. I wish there was more story after the auction, but I still liked the ending. It was cute 🥰

Maggie is working for her friends family company, she has never met one of her brothers as he usually stays away from the company and works remotely.
Ben attends an event for the company, he is only there to show his face to his siblings to show his support and then he is out of there. But when he sees Maggie, he wonders if he can take someone else home with him that night. However, when he finds out that she is his sisters friend and younger than him, he says some unkind things to push her away.
Maggie is tired of pining after Ben and decides if she auctions her virginity then she may be able to stop thinking of him. But when Ben finds out, he is determined to be the one to win her at the auction, then he just has to convince her to give him a second chance.
I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.

I was so ready to give this book 5 stars in the first few pages, I had no idea it was gonna be so short but when I saw the page count and how to the point the events were I thought it worked. And then he turned out to be a stalker. And then he says I love you after one weekend, move in with me. And that last part wasn’t so bad, but then she says I might be pregnant???😂😂 I can’t. Not to mention I skipped all the intimate scenes so I had to flip back a few pages thinking the author did “two months later” or something, but nope, the virgin thought she might be pregnant the weekend she lost her virginity. Yup, no stars. Only because I did actually like it until the unbelievable pregnancy part, like I was willing to suspend my belief and give it 4 stars (lost a star for the stalker thing) and then I just couldn’t take them seriously when that happened. Yeah, not a bad use of my hour, at least I was entertained.

I loved Auctioned to the Mountain Man Book 7 of Highest Bidder. Maggie loves her job and working with her best friend. She doesn’t like that she keeps trying to fix her up on dates and she’s tired of being a virgin. It all changes one night within 5 minutes of meeting Ben she’s ready to give him everything. They share an unbelievable kiss but in another 5 minutes he turns into a mean grump and pushes her away. She has no idea why but he hurt her. So she signs up for the Virgin Aiction, why not make some money and get rid of her v-card at the same time. Ben realizes his mistakes and is on a mission to win Maggie back but first he has to win her auction. Great story, love this series. Love the characters. I hope we see stories for Eddie and Elana. I would definitely recommend this book.

Absolutely fantastic read! Maggie is a intelligent, strong and beautiful woman who is coordinating a work fundraiser when she meets a hot mountain of a man. There's an instant attraction and intense chemistry between them that she's never felt before. It's not until she sees her best friend that she finds out that he's the brother she hasn't met yet. Ben only goes to the annual fundraiser, the rest of the time he spends alone. But when he meets Maggie he feels things he's never felt before and is overwhelmed. Will they get to discuss what's happening and are they likely to be able to be together? Expect lots of fun, laughter, friendship, family, passion, love and more throughout this captivating page turner! Enjoy!.

She is getting some air when a man approaches her, there is something about him, they agree to meet later. But when Elise approaches she finds out he is her brother, Bentley, next the date Elise obtained for her is right behind.
Bentley stays in the mountain cabin away from people and the first woman he finds interesting in a long time has a date. He says somethings that are harsh and Maggie leaves mad.

This is such a sweet story. Just the right length if you want a shorter read but still with a wealth of character.
Maggie has always been a little reserved but then she's had her best friend Elana looking out for her to make sure she experiences life. Funny thing is that life pretty much came to her but it was short, bittersweet and over before it even had a chance to begin. So she decides that in order to move on she will put herself up for auction. That way she has made a positive move even if her heart hasn't. As for Ben, love him, he reacts first and later when he's had a chance to think through what happened he knows he made a mistake, possibly a fatal one. Hopefully there is a way to come back from it!

Maggie was taking a break out in the courtyard. She would have to get back into the benefit soon. Ben sees her and feels something. Something draws him to her. Nice conversation, a surprise kiss on each other and then Ben says something and then something else uncouth. Maggie doesn’t understand what happened. They both leave going their separate way. Ben realizes what he did and now he wants to correct his mistake. Maggie decides this is her time to be auctioned off. Things are getting a little crazy. It is a very entertaining, funny, flirty adventure with a steamy, passionate and unexpected love. The characters are sassy, spicy and sexy hot. Super great story.

Ben has been living a lonely life on the mountain and his only visitors are his brother and sister. He agrees to attend a family business function but doesn’t expect to meet Maggie and feel so much after so long. Maggie feels an instant connection with Ben and when she realizes he’s her best friend’s brother she feels even more comfortable and safe with him. That is until he messes up and breaks her heart. This was another wonderful story as part of this series. Ben realizes his mistake and owns it. He explains his past to Maggie and how that has affected his present. Maggie is hardworking and independent and once Ben has explained his past she’s understanding and there to comfort him. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A love story like no other. The main characters meet at an event. They have instant attraction and sexual chemistry. Then Ben, the MMC says something so rude and unexpected that Maggie, the MFC runs out of the event. Ben instantly knows he made a huge mistake but can’t fix it. And Maggie is so hurt but can’t stop thinking about Ben. And he can’t stop thinking about her. So instead of calling her, he becomes obsessed and starts stalking her. And Maggie decides to give up her virginity for a $1,000,000.00 during an auction. Ben finds out and goes to the auction to be the winning bidder. The rest is history with a HEA. But you want to read the story to find out how they admit their feelings for each other. It’s definitely a winning story

I enjoyed the story 'Auctioned to the Mountain Man' by Hope Ford. I liked the sweet, fragile hopefulness that the couple displayed. The man could hardly believe that someone had the power to make him feel love again and she had wonder and tender feelings for him right away. He almost destroyed it all by pushing her away, but when she tries to sell her virginity at a auction, he knows the only one that can be with her is him. He bids and rescues her from the auction and proceeds to show and convince her that she belongs with him.

Thanks a to past betrayal Ben hid out in the mountains away from people working remotely for the family distillery. He would come down on occasion at his sister, Elana's request such as the company fundraiser where he met Maggie. They had an instant connection, but it was quickly over shadowed by doubtful thoughts from Ben's past, causing him to say some nasty hurtful things to Maggie setting off a chain reaction no one expected. Enjoy this wild roller-coaster of a story as Ben works to undo the damage, he caused.

I absolutely loved this book. I enjoy this series so so much and it keeps getting better! 😍

This story is as good as the whole series. Maggie is working for her friend and her brothers, although she does not know one. Ben lives on a mountain where he stays away from everything and everyone. Maggie and Ben meet by coincidence, the attraction is strong and instantaneous, the complicated is later when they realize that she is an employee of the family business and best friend of his sister. Ben decides to reject Maggie, but after a few days he realizes how wrong he is and decides to claim her, which will not be easy because he will have to go after them where the highest bidder will win.

OTT passion and pleasure
Auctioned to the Mountain Man by Hope Ford is part of the multi-author Highest Bidder series but it also ties into the long running Whiskey Run world by the author. This story about Maggie and Ben. He is a mountain man through and through who may be part of the family business but he is never seen. Maggie works with her best friend Elana who just happens to be Ben's younger sister, although neither of them know this when they first meet. The story is OTT, whimsical, heavy on passion and longing, lots of emotions and more. It is nicely written, has interesting characters and was a fun and entertaining read that I enjoyed.

This is a short but steamy romance between a shy virgin and a reclusive mountain man. Maggie loves her job. She works with her best friend whose family owns the company. On a special night for her company, she meets Ben who is her best friends brother. Maggie has such a strong attraction to Ben that she is willing to go home with him and lose her virginity. As her friend introduces her to her "date" (Maggie did not agree to this blind date), Ben takes off. Maggie's solution is to auction off her virginity. Fortunately, Ben finds out about it. He bids and wins. They get their happily ever after!

In the meantime they are both hankering for each other. His solution is to stalk her - installing cameras at her house, monitoring her email. Her solution is to auction her vCard to the highest bidder. Course he finds out and sets out to win… 8 million dollars! I have no clue where this guy got this money and why he’d spend that - he could have got it free! (Real world- would someone really pay this!?!)
He takes her v and they don’t use birth control.

Maggie meets the mysterious Ben at a works do, they seem to connect but he backs off quickly when he realises she is his sisters BFF. She can’t get him out of her head and weeks later decides to auction herself off in an attempt to lose her v card. Ben finds out, so not happy!!! He bids on her and wins but she doesn’t trust him. What is in his past that caused the abrupt withdrawal and can they both move past it?

Wish I could give it 10 stars!
I loved this couple! Maggie is one of my absolute favorite characters she's smart and is head strong and Bens past history really tugged at my heart. When Ben sees Maggie he doesn't know she works for his company or that she's his little sisters best friend. so he says somethings to Maggie to push her away. Bad move buddy he pushes her to auction herself off but this mountain man is having none of that. Excited for you to find out what happens it really was an amazing book that yes I will read again and again.
