Born in New York City, Doug grew up in Connecticut while still exploring the city he called home. He spent a lot of his youth exploring his imagination. He dabbled in plays, screen plays, poetry, lyricism, essays, writing stories, and singing in various bands.
After graduating from Roger Williams College, Doug went on to work for educational non-profits and school systems. He never lost his enthusiasm for writing, creating, and performing, though. Over the years, Doug has been a writer, an actor, a lead singer, a comedian, a DJ, a fantasy football commissioner, a poet, a lyricist, and a really bad guitarist. He finally honed all of those skills so he could teach middle school students and bring education to life for the next generation.
Doug lives in North Carolina. He is a middle school teacher, a football coach, a loving husband, and a proud father who spends his free time creating stories like Intercepted, his debut novel. His goal is to bring characters you love to life and to share their stories as they relate to the world around us all.
First, Mr. Veeder either needs an editor for his grammatical errors and using two words (smirked and winked) way too much. It reminds me of another author who did the same thing; and I despise these two words! Wink wink, smirk smirk.
I fully agree that we are in a battle against spiritual warfare, but I don’t - and cannot - envision humans fighting against it as author Veeder envisions. I did finish the book, but it was tedious to finish. One star might be the better rating, but I’ll give it two stars for just the kicks of it. Please get an editor, though!
The plot was Interesting and there were good descriptions so it was easy to visualize the story. It read more like a movie. In my opinion, too much of the story centered on Special Agent Eric who didn’t bring much purpose to the story until the end. Also, the plan put in motion to clear David was confusing. But I still enjoyed the book. There were song spelling and a few grammatical errors in the Kindle version.
This is a very good book. Lots of action and some twists and turns I wasn't expecting. There are 2 reasons why I couldn't give a 5 star review. 1. The book needs some better editing. 2. This book is not Scripturally sound. I won't give details so I don't give any spoilers but anyone who knows The Word will understand.
Phenomenal book about spiritual conflict; I was captivated from the very first page, definitely an unputdownable book. I love the way this author makes you stop and think. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. I highly recommend this book!
I enjoyed reading this book, it gave a new dimension to what it is like to fight for spiritual warfare in your family life. I found as I read the book, everything that could be possible got in the way of reading the book. Satan does not want our focus on God and that is Doug Veeder's point in this story. The surprise ending got me!
