Growing up in New Zealand’s North Island, Heather enjoyed an idyllic childhood on the family sheep and cattle farm, generating a respect for the land, and a love of both animals and reading. Heather then wandered the world for three years before marrying and settling in rural Queensland, Australia where years of farming provided inspiration to fuel her dream to be a writer. With eleven published books and the twelfth underway, Heather is now retired and is realising her dreams. When not writing, Heather spends her time in their large garden accompanied by two dogs and a varying number of chickens, hiking the vast expanses of Australia with her husband, or caring for grandchildren.
Heather Rayburn has crafted a wonderful saga of Australian Tullagulla, both in the hardships to be overcome, and the wonderful extended family bonding that takes place. It reads like spun sugar as the family builds and grows to form the perfect bonding with each other.
Let me start by saying this is the first review I've written . This is not my usual genre, I'm more into action and edge of the seat books, but this series grabbed me from the get go. The characters were believable, the setting is very Australian and the way Heather puts it all together just takes the readers to the country. Loved the interaction with the animals and the land. The only thing I found strange was the amount of food they consumed. I think it's the first time I had a tear in my eyes FIVE STAR.
