And soul-sucking creatures lurk just beyond the castle borders.
After a tragic event, Vivica’s spouse, Nils, dwells in the realm of ghosts and spirits. A love tale cut short, Nils continues to love his wife. Every day, he walks beside her, unseen, waiting for her soul to join him.
However, Nils isn’t the only one vying for Vivica’s soul. Evil monsters lurk in the forest, anticipating their next soul-filled meal.
The situation becomes even more complicated when a strange, tiny creature and a princess enter the picture.
Will Nils win the battle for Vivica’s eternal life, or will she perish forever, leaving Nils alone in the dimension where he landed for eternity?
The key to these questions lies in one place… Melantha.

Ah, so good! I loved the witchy vibes and never-ending secrets. This book takes star-crossed lovers to a new level. Smith does a great job of keeping you guessing at every turn while also building a world of fantasy hidden by shadows and different dimensions. Vivica's constant struggle kept me turning every page, just so I could root for her! No spoilers, but Melantha was definitely my favorite in the end. Can't wait to see what happens next!
I did try to get into this book, I had high hopes. The writing seemed blocky, and I couldn’t get behind the misuse of grammar. I only made it into chapter four before I had to put it down. I love fantasy, and normally a book that captures you right from the beginning, unfortunately this book did not pull me in and for that I couldn’t continue to read it. I will look at giving it another go in the future but right now it is not something I am interested in.
