Elisa:
All I’ve ever wanted was to measure up to my father’s expectations.
But it’s not that simple when he’s the head of a brutal crime family.
The only girl in a world of monsters and the landscape keeps getting darker and darker.
One shift in power and my father is marrying into a worse family—one that wants our name for their own.
In return for the safety of his sons, I’m offered to the eldest in our new extended family.
But he’s not looking for love or happy ever afters.
He needs a pawn. A bargaining chip. A hostage with a pretty face.
I hate myself for wanting him to see me. To need me. To love me.
Everything about my desire is wrong. Yet it blinds me to bend, then break every rule I’ve ever known.
Anything for him.

Daemon:
The only way to survive in the dark is to become it.
I can’t even remember what it’s like to feel anything but vengeance.
But everything changes when my mother marries the leader of our bitter enemies.
Play nice was the request. Not a chance.
And in exchange, I get the honor of breaking his only daughter.
They think we’re in this fight together. They’re wrong.
We’re here to tear them apart. One by one.
And we’re starting with her. Little does she know, she won’t survive the love she seeks.
I’m not her savior. I’m death at her door.
Naughty little thing has no clue just how deep I’m going to take her before I destroy everything she holds dear.
And there’s one person that’s going to help me do it—her.

Nicole York is a woman that loves the thrill of suspense. Whether that be flipping upside down on a roller coaster or sitting on the edge of her seat watching the latest thriller movie, she’s all in. If you see the sports car on the freeway flying by you, take a pic, because you probably just saw her!!

She is the one that always figures out the plot in the movie and comes up with the ending that no one else ever saw coming. It just serves her right that now in the books she writes sometimes the characters take the book a direction the author had not planned on.

Selling My Soul is a dark mafia romance that does end on a cliffhanger. If either of those things bother you, this might not be the book for you.

The story starts with Daemon seducing Elisa in a club to keep her out of the way as Daemon's family kills her mother. Flash forward 5 years, and we see Elisa graduating from law school while still thinking about her fall angel from that night 5 years ago. Little does she know he's about to become her stepbrother.

In a gesture of goodwill, Daemon's new stepfather gives Elisa to him to do with whatever he wants. Elisa wanted nothing to do with the family business and planned to escape into her career, but that plan is shattered by her father's gesture.

Daemon feels something for Elisa but doesn't know if he can trust her and he does some really sick things to her in this book. Make sure you think about your triggers before picking this up. I'm looking forward to the next so I can see if Daemon redeems himself.

I did receive an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Great start to a new series! The author brings strong characters and weaves a dark romance with a ton of emotions. She does a terrific job pulling me in and had me glued to the pages with all of the twists and turns along the way. It's well written with vividly painted scenes, moves fluidly and is a fantastic read. Warning: It does end in a cliffhanger.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

So I thought about giving this a 3 star but I just couldn't it was only okay for me. It started off really good. Even though I would have loved a shoot out at that ridiculous thing they called a wedding. Side note: I didn't trust either Alexander or Lillian (for good reason) They both need to go, why stop at killing one parent, kill them all!

Did not like Elisa one bit. I thought she was going to be a little tougher than she was. The girl was going to be a lawyer. Although she had a skewed idea of what that looked like, evenings and weekends off all the time, what is this a small town practice. I don't think so. But in this world it didn't matter, as soon as she got Daemon that's really all she wanted. I wanted her to fight for her freedom she was fine to cower in a cage waiting for him to take what he wants. I liked the ending I can give them that. I would hope Elisa gets better but I don't have much hope for it.

Janis is delusional. I did like Vin. That psycho was entertaining. Elisa's family is all horrible and Drake is involved of course, it's good to have a doctor on the payroll for all the bullet holes.

Here's to the them all going out in a blaze of gunfire!

Hmmm. I would maybe rate this a 2.5 tbh. It’s hard for me to be obsessed with a story if the main characters don’t have any emotional connection. It was hinted at and talked about from different POVs, but never actually shown. And Daemon treated her like shit. Soooo not the biggest fan.

It had all the right elements of a dark mafia romance just none of the DARK substance I wanted. I wanted more elaboration on everything i gusss. More darkness, more fight from the FMC. Slightly disappointing...

maybe I'm being unfair and comparing it too much to den of vipers 😅

What a Ride!

This is a very dark romance, so if that story is not for you, I would pass this story by. The twists and turns the story takes will make your heart palpitate.

Daemon is not a great guy, by any means. You won't like him, but you can see why Elisa would be attracted to him. Look, she's trying to get away from her father's mafia ties, so getting involved with another mafioso is not what she wanted in her life. But she's drawn to him from the moment they met five years earlier.

Daemon and his brothers run the Petrov Family with their father (and mother as we learn later). Daemon's father tells him to sweet-talk and screw Alex La Rosa's only daughter, Elisa. While he is screwing Elisa, his brother will be killing La Rosa's wife. Mafia wars in Boston and Chicago. WOW!

Five years later we see Elisa getting ready for graduation to law school. Her brothers and father are in Chicago to support her. At the same time, Daemon has killed his father (I guess on the urging of his mother) and hears the La Rosa family is in Chicago. They are there not just for Elisa's graduation. It looks like Lillian Petrov and Alex La Rosa are planning a wedding. THEIRS.

Daemon is forced to keep Elisa as his "pet" and do as he pleases with her. Elisa's father is a pig. Her brothers are pigs (except her brother Drake the doctor) and do whatever her father tells them to do.

Sometimes you want to hate Daemon, then you find out he loves Elisa and thinks she is too good for him. The story ends on a cliffhanger, but you can see that this is just the beginning of the La Rosa and Petrov rivalry. I can't wait to see what's next for this dark romance.

Dark, Dangerous and Sooo Intoxicating

The world of two powerful rival crime families are about to seek revenge that will ultimately tie them together!! As the oldest son, Daemon Petrov has many roles in the family business and with his monster of a father carries them out to the letter or suffer the wrath. He just never thought that one night defiling the La Rosa white blonde haired beauty would lead scars in his soul. Elisa La Rosa never wanted involved in her families business and planned on leaving Boston to go to college in Chicago. Now five after her tall, dark and dangerous angel took her places she never knew existed, her family is in Chicago for her graduation...and her destruction. These two powerful crime families unite in holy hell and matrimony against their children's blood thirst. But the surprises don't stop there. Elisa is given to Daemon as a bargaining chip against attacks and thus begins her humiliation and degrading. You'll want to hate Daemon, root for him and want to hurt him all in one chapter, but with a soul bled of light you'll also wonder how he's survived. Can Elisa bring a slither of light to this dark angel or is it too late?? She shouldn't care but something draws her to his darkness. What is the end goal?? A very dark and yet exciting story told in his/her POV...warning of triggers and ends in a cliffhanger that will have you wondering WTH!!! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book and hanging on for the next... Who will it be???

WOW!!!! What a Dark twisted mind-blowing intense, intriguing, action packed suspense filled drama, secrets, deceit, angst, murder, abuse, danger, violence, twists & surprises that has you turning the pages.
Daemon was sent to Boston by his father to do some things but also to have sex with the daughter of their sworn enemy Alexander La Rosas, head of the Mafia family Elisa to seal the deal forever, she was drugged, they had sex she passed out, he left, now 5yrs later neither can forget each others night together.
Elisa goes to College to become a Lawyer in Chicago not wanting anything to do with the family business her family shows up for graduation celebration, also her father Alexander says he's getting married in a couple days her name is Lillian is all they get from him.
Daemon's mother Lillian informs him she's getting married & he's walking her down the Isle & it's not a request but she doesn't tell him who the man is she marrying there all kind of shocked.
I definitely recommend to get this mind-blowing story when everyone finds out La Rosas & Petrovs will be intertwined with this wedding hiw will that go over with sworn enemies coming together, as a show of faith Alexander gives Elisa to Daemon, the cliffhanger OMG!!!!
I'm so looking forward to the next book in this new start to this amazing series after that cliffhanger we need more of "Daemon & Elisa" there's more to come.
AWESOME INTENSE DARK ROMANCE 🖤 🖤 🖤 🖤

This is the first book to this series, told in dual first person POV and leaves you on a cliffhanger. This is a dark romance that leaves you wanting more. This is not for the faint of heart, there are many things that could be triggers for some, so be sure to check those out first.

I am still on the fence about Daemon. One minute I really like him, I feel like he is an underdog and want to root for him. The next minute I can’t stand him. Maybe in the next book he will redeem himself. I really like Elisa, but there were also times I wanted her to be just a hair more stronger and stand up for herself. I love that even though she didn’t fully understand it, she was starting to really find herself in the bedroom 😉.

Every time I thought I had this story figured out, in came a plot twist that I was not expecting. I think I felt just as enraged as the Petrov men when they got the news near the end. I had a feeling that one of the characters were only going to show up in this book and no more, but I was really hoping it wasn’t him.

Overall, this was a great book that held my attention and one that I know I will be thinking about days and maybe even weeks later.

I received an advanced reader’s copy via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving this review. These thoughts and opinions are my own.

Wow, a great start to a new series about the rival La Rosa and Petrov crime families. They intertwined even more when Daemon's mother married Elisa's father. . Elisa always tried to please her father but it continues to get harder. He dad and her brothers with the exception on the one who is a doctor are bad people. Things get intense and darker when Elisa's father offered her to Daemon. She had just finished law school and wanted to get far away from the mafia but instead she gets in deeper by marrying into another mafia family. In a strange way Elisa finds herself drawn to Daemon and secretly he is drawn to her but doesn't trust her. A warning there are some triggers in the things he does to her. This is a very dark mafia romance with plenty of action, danger, danger and darkness. Definitely a page turner. Well written but beware there are some triggers so it that bothers you, please investigate before you read. It's has dual POV's which is great. Daemon is a very dark person and hard to like at times but he does make for an interesting complex character with many layers. The book does end with a cliffhanger as this story has a lot more to tell. I read an advance free copy via the author's team and voluntarily chose to review it.

I have got to admit, I flipped back and forth over this one, but I think that is what the author planned. I did not like this guy, not one bit, so for me, it was impossible to root for the HEA. I flipped flopped back and forth. II wanted to hope, then I wanted to throw my kindle. This is an emotional read. It’s dark and disturbing and may pull at your emotions. The story follows Elisa and Daemon. Elisa’s family is in the mafia and she’s trying to get away but Daemon is like the saying “out of the frying pan and into the fire”. She hadn’t planned on getting involved with another mafia guy but she can’t seem to help herself and as much as I didn’t like this guy, you can’t help but see why she’s drawn to him. My emotions were all over the place. This is a dark read, and you may want to pull your hair out but you will be completely satisfied once you’re done reading and probably still thinking about it days after, for this reason, I gave all 5 stars.

This is an amazing start to what I think will be a great mafia series, but be warned it's not a sweet love story nor is it for the faint of heart as it tells what happens when two long-standing waring mafia families decide that the way to stop the war is to unite by marriage. A marriage is then proposed between Elisa and Daemon but are they destined to find love or is it just a sinister plan?

The characters are well-drawn and intriguing, Daemon's likeable one minute but then he'll do something and then you can’t stand him. I wonder if, in the next book, he'll redeem himself. Elisa is likeable and deserves someone who will appreciate her but she needs to stand up for herself as no one else seems to be doing it. They do, however, have amazing chemistry on their side.

This story kept me at the edge of my seat from beginning to end, I can't wait to find out how it's going to play out.

SELLING MY SOUL Dancing With The Devil by Nicole York
I really enjoyed this one! This is a very well written dark mafia story that will keep you turning pages until you finish the book. It is full of intrigue, suspense, chemistry, intensity, and is full of angst. Elisa is the only daughter of the east coast Boston mafioso.
A one night stand after her high school graduation starts Elisa La Rosa on a 5 year fixation with her unnamed "dark angel", they did not exchange names and she leaves before he wakes. Daemon is the son of the Chicago mafioso, he is willing to do the ultimate to be in charge of the family. When his mom works out an arrangement with her father, her father gives Elisa to him. Now they know they are enemies, and he is determined to break her. I was totally invested in this story. It is 5 stars.

At the end of this book all I’m left with is: what the…? This was a dark, brutal, and violent story. It took me to places that left me distinctly uncomfortable. But now that I’ve dug in this far, I’m pretty much hooked on Elisa and Daemon’s story and more than a little desperate to discover the rest. On a side note, there are many things in this book that could be triggering, including violence, dubious/non-existent consent, and humiliation to list just a few. Please be aware of these as you’re making choices in your reading journey.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.

Once again Nicole York kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more which I know is coming! Elisa La Rosa had a one night stand with a dark angel - Daemon's the oldest son of the Petrov family. They are the enemy of the La Rosa mafia family from Boston. Five years down the road Elisa graduates for law school in Chicago when her father announces that he is getting remarried. This is a surprise to all when it turns out to be to Daemon's mother! She sees him as her Dark Angel he sees her has his redemption that he can't have. Dark, edgy, suspenseful but will these rivals come to term with the change? The next book in this series is sure to gives us some answers to our questions.

This is such a dark dark book but it will have you hooked.
Daemon and Elisa come from rival mafia families but are brought together when her father and his mother marry. But no-one else knows that they met 5 years ago when he used her for a night of pleasure and she has never forgotten him.
Now she has been given to Daemon to keep the peace between the families. But he isn't good to her but Elisa starts to bring out his softer side but will it last when everything thing is against them.
So many twists and turns and some really dark times but it ends on a cliffhanger.

An entertaining and frustrating story all at the same time, and it had me engaged from start to finish. Gotta say, I wasn't exactly a fan of Daemon at the start, but again he's not Prince Charming so there's that. I wouldn't say he's good guy, but there are moments where you see he just might have a touch of conscience. But you gotta look way, way, WAY beyond the surface and even then, if you blink you might think you imagined it. I'll say that the majority of male characters we meet in this book aren't good; hell, they're not even tolerable, and some are worse than others, but I do like the chemistry between Daemon and Elisa, and can't wait to see how things will play out in the next book.

Lots of triggers in this book. Also, the book ends for the cliffhanger. I have to say, in some ways. This gave me a 'Joker' and 'Harley Quinn' vibe. They're both born from the same fire, though one turns evil and the other turns submissive and gental. This book makes you believe in taking somebody who's broken and thinking you can fix them. My heart goes out to Elisa in this book. She wants to love Daemon, but he can't stop thinking she's a spy. He's a loose canon, you never really know when he's gonna go off? My least favorite character out in this book is Lillian (Daemon's mom). In my opinion, she's the one starting war.

I got this book on a SYK and I went in knowing nothing.
It was so good in a surprising way!
It gave me everything I needed from a dark pitch black romance, Daemon was chef's kiss, and the plot?! The plot!
I never saw that coming, I will probably read the other books if I ever want to binge read something that I know will be good.
If you want to read a spicy, maffia romance (with little to no romance) I would recommend you this. There is such a small amount of good maffia romances with good plot, so I was more then pleased. Nicole York did an amazing job with this!

Daemon and Elisa are part of two rival crime families. Elisa wants to distance herself from that life. Her father offers her to the Daemon. Elisa's father and Daemon's father tie the knot. Two families becoming one is not happening here. Daemon is going to tear them apart after breaking Elisa. There are twists and turns that will keep you hooked until the end, and you will be left hanging on what will happen next.

This story is action packed, full of triggers and ends on a cliffhanger. The plot is well developed and entertaining. Just when I thought I had it figured out, along came another twist. I felt so bad for Elisa. She was so mistreated. And Daemon? I’m still on the fence on how I feel about him. The story is rife with emotions, danger, betrayal, suspense, murder, and spice. Daemon and Elisa are from rivaling crime families. When they don’t follow direct orders from their fathers there is hell to pay. Elisa never wanted to be part of the family business and tries to escape to Chicago for college. Little does she know her tryst with Daemon results in her ultimate demise curtesy of her calculating father. Can Elisa bring her dark brooding Angel into the light before it’s too late.

Warning- cliffhanger and no answers

This book started out well, with an interesting story line but ends abruptly with a cliffhanger and no answers.
I usually don't mind this, IF I know another book is coming to pick up the rest of story. This was a stand alone so I assumed this story would conclude. Nope, no sequel book even implied. Waste of time.
Won't bother with this author again.

I honestly don't know why i enjoyed this book. Good dark... like bow down and be my bitch dark. Elisa is everything i dispise in terms of bowing down to men but i get it with the trauma of being a mob kid. But... it is irritating that she comes across weak. I assume with each book you could assume her confidence would grow?. She has the fire building to become a mobwife but who knows. I need to read the next one.
