When Maddie O'Donnell's uncle, Hank, cut her and her mother off when Maddie was just a child, she never wanted to hear from him again. But after receiving the news of his passing, Maddie discovers that he left his fishing business on an isolated island in the Atlantic Ocean to her - not that she wants it. Maddie heads to Lowell Island with plans to sell off her uncle's assets, but upon her arrival comes face to face with someone she did not expect.
Hank was the father Hale Franklin never had. Upon grieving his loss, Hale learns that their business that he was supposed to assume has been left to Hank's niece - all because Hank never updated his will. Her plans to sell it off will surely destroy all of Hale's hard work, and Hale is certain he's never hated anyone as much as he hates Maddie.
Amidst their battle of wills, both their love lives are unexpectedly derailed, leaving only each other to trust. And when a dangerous storm descends on the island, that might be the only thing to save them.
I'm gonna be honest I originally bought this book Because of the author. I am subscribed to her tiktok channel and she was talking about some stuff she was going through and I really wanted to support her especially since a lot of her work was on my TBR. So I bought a whole bunch of her books at once , And I am so pleasantly surprised on how much I really enjoyed this book. For me love triangle books are either a hit or miss so I'm always a little skeptical when I buy 1. This book technically has a double love triangle and there's action , there suspends, there's romance ,there's smut on a much lower scale . I would definitely say it's 2 chili pepper . there are definitely some gorgeous scenes that are all very detailed but there's just more of the actual storyline then there is smut and I am fully okay with that. No 1 else ever is a definite 4 star for me something I can guarantee I will pick up again and read again . i am so glad I bought this book. You fall in love with the main characters and this book had me laughing to actually getting angry at the characters ,going what are you thinking LOL. To actually towards the end actual tears this book definitely put me through the motions. it was very well written If I had to give it 1 critique is that At Times it seemed to drag just a hair which is why I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 star.
I couldnt't put it down! I usually don't read romance, but I heard about this book on Tic Tok, and it sounded interesting. I absolutely loved it. I couldn't stop reading. It was just the sort of happily-ever-after I was needing at the moment. It begins with a New York City artist coming to a small island in the northern Atlantic, to settle the inheritance she received from her late uncle's will as quickly as she can so she can get back to her normal life. She is hoping to tie up all the loose ends in a couple of weeks until some bad weather traps her on the island with all of her uncle's friends and employees, and with a very handsome, but very angry business partner, who is less than thrilled with her being there to sell off the fishing business he has invested his life in. This story has everything. Exceptional spice, enimies to lovers, and heartwarming found family themes. I highly recommend it for lovers of romance.
This book is written in 3rd person, which personally I'm not a fan of, but gave it a go anyway. I am pleased I did as I was surprised how much I was able to connect and understand the characters regardless of how its written (I feared that I won't be able to make the connection).
I loved the story, it's a nice mixture of hot smut and oh the roller coaster of emotions! It's definitely enemies to lovers with sad twists of real life that gets in the way of true love. I was angry, happy and ugly cried a lot.
Maddie is beautiful and kind person while Hale is hot rugged fisherman with a few issues, but without giving away too much, I would definitely recommend reading it.
I absolutely fell in love with this book! The characters were amazing and the story was the perfect mix of drama and smut. This book really spoke to me, I couldn't put it down. The best way I can think to describe it... is it was like coming home after being gone too long. This has become my favorite book of the year and possibly my favorite book ever. Read it! It's worth it!
Loved this book. So enjoyable to read. I absolutely love Rihannons' writing style. You'll never get bored or feel like you need to push past chapters. Engaging all the way through.
